USF The Arcadian
Bridge
Captain Mathis Lauzon
Polaris System

After some time, the stowaway problem was solved, and travelling mid-jump to the Polaris System. The Arcadian had finally arrived, and as Mathis gazed at the triple star system. They are now the first humans to visit the Polaris System, and they can begin to explore the system that has baffled scientists for centuries. But before Mathis could give an order or much less speak. The Signals Officer, Janika Leino had to speak up in a confused tone.

"Captain, I am getting strange readings coming from within the system."

Mathis turned to her with a curious but serious look. "How strange, are we talking Leino?"

"Very, like nothing we have seen before, and I am trying to figure out where in the system the readings are coming from." Leino, clearly focused on her duties.

"Hmmm," Mathis looked back at the viewport and studied the system the best he could. "So this system has more than meets the eye." Saying it in a concerned tone. "Someone get Vance back up here and alert the scientists aboard. They may be needed."

"Captain," Leino's voice spoke up, "I have found the source of the strange readings. Near one of the planets, Polaris B VIII, and it appears to be coming from some kind of ship. Unknown type, probably alien. "

"A ship Leino?" Mathis was surprised, "Is it active or giving out anything else but the strange readings?"

"No sir, it is not moving, and I am only getting the strange readings from it. Nothing else."

Mathis leaned back in his chair as he planned the Arcadian's next move. Sitting right back up after a moment of thought. "Weiss, make course for this ship, but be careful with it." The captain said in a cautious tone, "just in case there are more surprises with this system, and prepare a boarding team." Mathis's steely gaze fixed on the viewpoint. "Since it could be a wreck, I want to know what on that ship is making these readings and see what information can be gathered from it."

"Understood, sir, I will alert necessary personnel," Laino replied and started messaging people throughout the ship.

The first system they visit, and already they discover something very interesting of note. Mathis thought as the preparations were being made. If this is a sign of what is to come, then he and the crew can expect an interesting mission for themselves. But he realized he was getting ahead of himself in anticipation of what they would find during this mission. Finding the remains of an alien ship is one way to start the mission, but whether or not it is a sign of what is to come is. It shows how eventful this mission may be.
Aslan Calides

This was not Aslan's first time at the Stone's Throw Tavern. He had been in Fenris for some time, and despite his own dislike of the cold climate of the land. Fenris is the best place for someone like him, or at least that is what he thinks as he walks down the cold dirt road that leads to the tavern. Somewhere he can operate freely and earn good coin. He is going to need that coin for his future endeavors. But for now, back to the tavern and see what other jobs are available.

It did not take long for Aslan to reach the Stone's Throw Tavern, and once he opened the door and stepped in. He was immediately greeted by the sweet warmth of the tavern as the last traces of the cold vanished from the air. A sensation Aslan very much enjoys since his stay in Fenris. While he misses the warmth of his homeland, he has grown to tolerate the coldness of the land. But Aslan savours any warmth that he finds in this frozen land.

But as for the tavern, it is just like the one he knows. Filled with lively mercenaries, drinking, talking, singing, and playing games. A sight that did not seem to change each time he came here. However, despite being an outsider in the eyes of anyone who could see his face. The mercenaries mainly left him alone. Since they were busy with their own drinking, talking, and singing. A figure with a hooded cloak did not seem to faze them, or at least in ways that would make them think about confounding Aslan. He knew some of them, but the fact remains. They did not care for him. Plus, he has a good rapport with the tavern owner, Maeki, since Aslan is not one to cause problems. Though he does owe the owner some, as he helped Aslan with finding contracts since coming here, and he tries to repay that debt when he can.

So, as Aslan effortlessly made his way to the counter and saw that there were some others already there. A pair, a woman with leather clothes and a fox fur scarf that did not look cheap, and hid her lower face, and what looked like a man in light armor next to her. Which Aslan could tell the man had Luxun features, and for a moment. His blood started to heat up, but despite the anger he had towards those from the west. He chose to remain cool for now and ignore him. No sense getting angry to fight someone with Luxun blood every time he sees one. Just not worth it, and there is a time and place for that. Here is not that place.

There were two others at the counter as well, one a man with a cup of mead and a woman with a sword tied on her back with black cloth. Aslan thinks he has seen the woman before here, but so have other patrons in here.

Either way, he decided not talk ot them and simply waited at the counter for Maeki. Once Maeki was done talking to the pair, Aslan motioned with his right hand to get Maeki's attention and simply nodded once he did. Getting the silent nod back from Maeki, he sat there patiently. Subtly eyeing the other mercenaries on the counter as he waited to be served.
Maybe I will think about it.
Okay, just making sure we are on the same page is all.
@Penny Just a heads up from your last post. The minimum post length is two paragraphs, and your last post was bare. In the future, try to make your posts longer.

@Cyrania The same goes for you as well. While I was initially okay with your post because of the report. Seeing how someone made a bare post. I will ask you to try to make your posts longer as well.
So I will move the rp along in two days, so anyone who wants to finish up anything or get your intro posts in. Do so before Sunday.

USF The Arcadian
Bridge
Captain Mathis Lauzon

Mathis noted the crewmen on the bridge who had answered his question. First was Alistair Vance, his XO, based on the personal records that Mathis reviewed. Alistair is a brilliant officer and perfect for his role aboard the Arcadian. A match that Mathis approves of greatly, and while Mathis knows he is breaking protocol by asking this question. He is glad that Alistair seems okay with this. At least this minor one, since they are all going to be together for a long time, and he might as well start fostering some good relationships with his crew.

"As it does, Mr.Vance, as it does." A satisfied and calm voice tone, he spoke, indicating he was pleased with his XO's response.

Then the second voice, Astrid Weiss, his Chief Helmsman or Helmswoman, he should say. Mathis read her personal records as well. Hers and the rest of the bridge crew. Plus, the department heads on the ship. She was a survivor just like he is, both of them had survived ordeals, and while he was not forced to get a cybernetic limb. Mathis's damaged body, he can hide beneath clothing, his flesh hiding the metal in him.

"Good, to hear Helmswoman Weiss." Again, his voice was one of calm and satisfaction.

Which when Major Sadek appeared on the bridge, Mathis noted how she did not salute him. Instead giving him a nod and rather not make a fuss about it. Mathis chose to let this slide and see if this becomes a trend or not.

But this cheerful mood would soon sour as he got a notification on his datapad about an act of sabotage. He almost said the word outloud as he was very surprised by this news, and soon put on his poker face so the crew would not see how concerned he was. Sabotage, but how, he thought, confused. The ship is just jumping to its first system, and somehow, there is a saboteur aboard causing problems and maybe more.

Mathis thought about who this could be or what faction they are from since the USF has been at peace for a long time. Who would try to ruin humanity's latest venture into exploring space? Mathis could not think of who or why they chose the Arcadian for this criminal act.

But his concerned thoughts were interrupted by Alistair as he whispered about taking charge of the investigation into this sabotage. "Granted, and tell me who it is once you have found the perpetrator." He whispered back, "I want to know who they are and how they got on the ship." Mathis's tone was clear and serious.

He watched as Alistair left the bridge and would sit back in his chair. Again, hiding his true feelings, his face did not betray him. So Mathis could only wait and see who this saboteur is and await the rest of the responses from his bridge crew. This is beginning to feel like a very long mission, and they have barely started.
Maybe I will just try to read and insert myself in the best spot.

That works as well. Just do what is best for you.
I am sorry, I'm still here. Life has been a bit rough and busy. I'm going to try to play catch up.

EDIT: Actually, I feel a little overwhelmed with catch up. I may have to resign, unfortunately.

It is okay if you have to leave if you are overwhelmed. But you can come back if things get better and you wish to return.
@Theyra The sanctuary, which you spent no conviction and no time creating IC, was destroyed by an earthquake and volcanic eruption. The humans were also killed. The North Star is a 2 conviction cost Surreal Action that creates a new terrain feature that is large and permanent.

Well, that was a stupid mistake, and after thinking about it. I think this rp is not for me, since I did not know how much that all could cost conviction wise and..... I will leave the rp and not make more mistakes in the rp.
