New Dawn of Civilizations

Civilization is the cornerstone of humanity, and without it, we would be nothing but primitive tribes living in wooden or stone huts. Though starting as pockets in select parts of the world. Others would form and ensure that humanity advanced and would thrive into the coming ages as cities formed and grew. Giving way to nations and even despite the thousands of wars and deaths. Civilization continued on and has advanced to what we know today.

But what if the civilizations that would develop, like the Egyptians or the people of Mesopotamia, changed, and instead of them, new civilizations would form in their place? A new dawn for the world as we know it, and it would happen far in the past.

That is where you come in, as you and others in the present, for some unknown reason. Have been sent back in time to 2700 B.C. in different areas of the world as immortals. An Author and these Authors would, after getting their bearings and settling in. They would, with their knowledge, take charge and forge their own civilizations and change history for better or worse.

What civilization would you make if you had the chance? Time to find out.

Overview

Hello and welcome to the rp. So in this rp, you will be playing as an Author or a term for an immortal. Which the rp will always be open. But, I should say three things before I continue.

One, this idea is not mine but an old idea on another rp site I am on, and based on the latest version of it that got traction and I wondered if the idea would interest people here.

Two, this rp is largely sandbox, and you will be rping by yourself for the most part. Unless you choose to start somewhere near people or start with someone. Though I will give events for people sometimes, and there will be NPC nations that will spring up. Just keep that in mind when making a cs since, again, you will be rping by yourself for the most part.

The third thing is that in the original idea for this rp, you are expected to play yourself or a character close to yourself. Now, while I like that aspect, I understand why people would not, so instead of forcing it. I will give people an option to make a custom character or play themselves if they desire. Which if you do choose to play yourself, you do not have to put up your own picture of your face or put up your real name or anything like that. Since I never did in these rps, and when I mean play yourself, I mean personality-wise and what you personally know. So you can change details as long as you keep what skills and knowledge you know along with your personality.

Now, with that out of the way and those still interested in the rp, here are some things.

How it works being an Author, it means your character is an immortal and is immune to aging, and cannot die due to age. Along with being immune to diseases and automatically knows and speaks any language they come across. Though your character can still die by other means, such as violence so, do not try to act like your character is invincible. Also, your character would not know any of this off the bat, so they have to learn that for themselves.

So, how your character is sent into the past is this. They go to bed, and when they wake up, it is in the past with nothing. I mean nothing, your character is completely naked and has nothing tied to the present except for their memory. Which if your character goes the playing myself route, then your character only knows what you know. If you do not know it, then they do not know it. Also, there will be greater scrutiny if I see a character that seems unusual or perfect to be sent to the past.

Also, for how the rp will work pacing-wise. The rp will be divided into five-year long periods that are followed by a ten-year skip. So you can post what you want up to the fifth year mark, and once everyone is caught up to the five-year mark, then I will do a ten-year time skip and then repeat. Now, how long it takes to get to the five-year mark is up to you.

Plus, you can start anywhere in the world. Just make sure you know about your starting location before picking. Like knowing the environment, what people would be there, and what resources you have access to.

Along with this, you are free to write the ancient people as you see fit, but remember. While the people of 2700 B.C are primitive, it does not mean they are stupid or act like idiots. They are as logical and reasonable as modern-day people and do not expect to become the leader of a group simply because you made a shovel and whatnot.

One last thing, when it comes to what your character skills are. You should not use anything that is too broad, and you should clarify what their skill is. Like if you used historical knowledge as a skill, that would not work and is too broad. More so about the skills that would be too beneficial for a character to have unless your character really knows about one or two of them. The following skills are not allowed unless your character really knows it based on the cs. Historical knowledge, oration, charisma, leadership, and military tactics.

That is it, and if anyone has any questions, then feel free to ask.

"Leo"
"Sofia"

"I guess it is a bit early to get a bead on the guy." Leo said after hearing Heath's thoughts, as he gazed at the son of Poseidon before returning his gaze to the group. At least he is giving Wes a chance to do something else besides the course. Doing it with one arm is just not possible despite the good shot Wes gave. A small mercy, and maybe River will be a good leader, but it has only been one day, and maybe training gets worse.

Sofia smiled, "no problem, Veronica, I am here for moral support." Though, while she would have liked to help Veronica with the course. Her own muscles were worn out from the course she barely passed. While she was breathing easier now, Sofia knew she could not help much with the course other than for moral support since she did not know how to help with a tired body. A shame in her eyes, but not much she can do. Which still she did not like.

When Heath spoke about the cookies, Sofia lit up. "Yeah, Heath, I can stay until you get the cookies. I am going nowhere anytime soon."

When the wind suddenly picked up out of nowhere, Iliana stormed off. Giving Heath a cold reply for help, Heath explained on Iliana's behalf.

"Sometimes you just gotta let people do it on their own, is all." Sofia said with a hint of experience. "I had a friend who did not like to get help most of the time. No matter how much I offered and she struggled. She just wanted to do things on her own. Nothing wrong with that, but it can hurt to watch." Sofia sounded a bit sad, like she was reliving an old memory. But she quickly shifted tone and sounded like she made a mistake. "Just let her be, and things should be fine, and ignore the hurt part of what I said." Trying not to make Heath regret not helping Iliana with the course.

"Demeter, eh," Leo vaguely trying to remember what Demeter's domain was. He is familiar with most of the Greek Gods, at least by name. What Demeter does is currently not ringing any bells, but he knows wind is apart of it, given what Iliana did. Still he kept quiet until Heath left and said goodbye. Since he doubted Heath wanted to hear three people say to let his sister do it on her own. "See you, Heath, and nice to meet you." Speaking with a subtle warmth, and watched as some of the other second goers started their runs. "Well, I think I am going to now and see you later, Sofia." He gave a small wave and got up from his seat.

"Bye Leo and you want me to save some cookies for you?" Sofia threw the cookies question in Leo's court.

Leo stopped for a moment as he was walking away, clearly thinking. Then he turned his body to face her with a half-smile. "I think you deserve those cookies more than me after that course, and I am not much of a sweet tooth anyway. So you keep them." He turned around and continued out of the arena.

"Okay, suit yourself and bye Leo," Sofia said it loud enough where Leo could hear her, and Leo simply did a half turn and did a short salute with one hand before turning back around and out of the arena.

Sofia sat there alone, watching Veronica do push-ups instead of the course. Something she hoped would be easier and not as grueling. Though it made her wonder what the next days of training would be like under River. Which, she snapped back to reality once Heath walked over and sat with her. "You do not have to wait with me, but I am doing okay." Her face betrayed her body, "though still worn out from the course and no." Sofia tried looking around the arena for her brother, but she would not spot the man. It seemed like he had already left the arena. "I now know what he looks like, for starters, and I am thinking of when and where would be the best for that meeting to happen." She let out a short chuckle," unless I say screw it and try it soon." She shrugged, " you happen to know the best way to meet with Mason since I know he can be hard to approach?"

Interact - Veronica, Iliana, Heath | Mentions - River, Wes, Mason
Yeah, post up to five years your way and then a ten year skip once everyone is ready. Just curious how people think about that.
One thing I have been thinking about is how people here feel the structure of the posts and the time skips? Like the five years, then a time skip?
Okay, good to know and is seems people are being in or near Europe. Bearing Dpmoc who is planning to be in the Middle East.
Got it and good to know. I am still thinking of where to go and I think either we get one more or after some time. I will launch the rp.
I suppose you can, but are you still interested in the rp?
Hmmmmmm So no magic in this huh? I might still be interested in joining.

Yeah, no magic despite the time travel and immortal status.
Nice to see more interest and those are good picks Dpmoc.
