Five years ago, an expedition of little renown was led by a man known as Henry Coswall. A man known infamously in academic circles as a crackpot who seemed convinced that there was one last piece of land that seemed to exist that remained undiscovered to humanity. A place he called the Lost World. He used the last of his funds to fund an expedition to find this lost world, and both he and his team ventured to South America. Never to be seen again, and it is guessed they died on Henry's mad quest.
But why should you care, you ask? Simple, while I am not interested in Henry's mission or seeking to confirm if he did find his lost world. What I do care about is that my mother was hired by him and went missing. Maybe dead somewhere in the jungles of the Amazon. I want to know what happened to my mother and what her fate was.
After painstaking research into what I could find of Henry's works. I found the route that Henry and his team took in South America, and while I could do this alone. I remembered how I was not the only one who lost a parent or someone close to Henry's obsession.
This is where you come in and why I am contacting you. I know you are like me and had someone close on Henry's expedition when they disappeared. Which is why I am inviting you to this expedition to find out what really happened to our loved ones. But I should warn you that if I am correct about what I have found about Henry's quest. It may be dangerous, and I cannot say when we will return from this. But if you want to know for sure what happened to our loved ones. Then meet me at this address, and I will fill you in on what I know, and we will find out the truth, and I hope to see you there.
While the group is unaware of what they will truly find in their quest. Taking them from South America to someplace else entirely, braving the dangers of this Lost World. If they can find the truth of the lost expedition. Finding out more than they initially thought about the Lost World that Henry sought to find. Will they survive and find the truth, or become lost like Henry's expedition? Only time will tell.

Overview
Hello and welcome to the rp. So in this rp set in 2026. You will be playing a member of an expedition who lost someone close who was in Henry Coswall's lost expedition and seeks to find out what the expedition's true fate was. Which the player characters will find themselves in what seems like another world where dinosaurs still exist, along with other things. Like a sentient race native to the Lost World and other humans.
Near the start of the player characters' journey to find what happened to Henry Coswall's expedition will discover an intact but abandoned tree house. That will be the player characters' base during their stay in the Lost World. Along with having clues to what their next step will be. Which I will be allowing players to choose where to go during the plot, out of the options I give in IC, and if no one can decide, then I will pick where to go plot-wise.
Now, when it comes to the player characters. You can make what you want as long as they are willing to go on the expedition, and once they have been accepted and the IC launched. I will talk to you about your character's missing loved one and how they will be discovered during the rp. Who can be anything like a parent, partner, child, a relative, or just someone your character cared about. Also, for character pics, either a real-life claim or a drawn one. No anime pictures.
I will also list locations and info about the Lost World in the OOC as the RP progresses, as the player characters discover more of the Lost World.

June 5th, 2025 a date that humanity will never forget. For that is the day the Xarzaens, a hostile alien race, invaded Earth. At first, the aliens, with their advanced technology, overwhelmed and massacred nation after nation. Europe was the first to fall to the Xarzaens, and it seemed like the rest of the Earth would follow. But as humanity united to resist the alien invaders, it was still a desperate fight to survive as most of humanity was forced to adapt to a guerrilla war style of fighting. As the Xarzaens started using brutal strategies to crush the human resistance as the years went by and caused major damage to the planet in the process. Until a spec ops strike team managed to steal a Xarzaen datapad. This datapad contained information about the alien's technology and with what alien tech humanity had recovered. Did the Xarzaens technology start to be reverse engineered. After some time, humanity started making the alien's own weapons and power armor. Did the tide start to turn, and eventually, after a strike team managed to slip themselves onto the Xarzaen capital ship. They took control of the ship's bridge and opened fire on the Xarzaen fleet. Causing massive damage and confusion as most of the fleet was destroyed in orbit and before the capital ship was destroyed.
Now with too few ships left and the humans gaining the upper hand. The last of the Xarzaen command discussed if they should continue the invasion. When news reached them that humans defeated a major Xarzaen army in open battle and were set to liberate Europe. Did the Xarzaen command agree to abandon the invasion and withdraw back to Xarzaen space. So they recalled what troops they could since they did not have enough ships to gather all of their troops, and they left the system in disgrace. Those Xarzaen left behind on Earth retreated into their bases and fortified themselves. Posed little threat to the surviving humans as humanity greatly outnumbered them, and now that humanity had their technology. It was an even playing field. Even though the Earth was devastated by the invasion and its people massacred by the aliens. Did humanity rejoice that they had won and defeated the alien menace. Now, after six years of war, it was the time to rebuild what they had lost and deal with the remaining Xarzaen on Earth.
For a time, this was the course, and a new united government was established. The United Earth Coalition was formed by the surviving nations, and the first President of a united Earth was the Indian Arati Padwal. One of the leaders of the resistance and under her leadership. Did humanity start to recover and use what advances were made due to the alien technology to aid humanity and repair the damage done to the planet. Along with clearing out what is left of the invaders from Earth and several Xarzaen bases were taken.
That was five years ago, and now a new government is in charge. For after five years of Padwal's rule, there was a coup. A man known as Lucián Carita, who was the leader of the resistance in South America, took control of the UN as he did not trust that the UN leadership could safeguard humanity's future and purge the government of Padwal's supporters. So now he and his loyal followers formed the Terran Union, the Terran Union. Which Lucián was installed as president and had absolute control of the new government. A dictatorship in all but name and resistance groups, including one in Europe, the Defiant, was formed to overthrow Lucián's rule.
For three years, the Defiant worked hard to overthrow Lucián's control over Earth. They were doing what they could to undermine his rule, and they were starting to gain headway. Growing stronger every day, and planning a major operation that would be set to liberate parts of Europe from Union control. Plus, they managed to make contact with the Americans and start organizing themselves. But disaster struck the Defiant. For all at once, their bases and safehouses were raided without warning by Union troops, including their newly acquired main base, the Liberty, which was an aircraft carrier. Because of the sudden appearance of Union troops, the Defiant was easily overwhelmed, and most of the rebels were killed and some captured along with the Liberty.
This seemed like the end of the Defiant as Lucián seemed to be victorious. But some managed to survive the ambush and tried to flee to safety. One group, after escaping the Liberty and getting shot down. They started their journey to safely and seemly the last of the Defiant. They will start to plan their next move even though the Defiant is seemingly defeated. This group has not given up the fight and will rebuild the Defiant and restart the resistance against the Union, and end Lucián's rule.

Overview
Hello and welcome to the rp. The rp is set in the year 2039, and in this rp you will be playing as surviving resistance members of the Defiant that have managed to escape the Liberty and are heading to a safehouse after being shot down. There they will try to plan their next move as they, despite the Defiant's massive loss. This group has not given up on overthrowing Lucián and bringing back the UN. So they will start the process of rebuilding the resistance and maybe finding other survivors and trying to find out who the traitor was that sold them out to the Union and nearly caused the Defiant's destruction.
Now, how the group got together, the player characters were originally on the Liberty when it was attacked and in the chaos. There was an evacuation order, and the chars managed to get to a helicopter and flee the scene barely. Only to get shot down somewhere in France while heading to a safe house. Where they will plan and rebuild the Defiant once they are in safety. While also trying to find other survivors and figure out who the traitor is who betrayed them to the Union.
So that is how the group got together, and how and why your char joined the Defiant is up to you. Also, if you join late, then instead of starting with the group then, you will be recruited during a mission or be the target of a recruitment mission, depending on the app. Along with possibly being a surviving member of the Defiant that was captured and now is the target of a rescue mission.

State of the World
It has been eight years since the end of the invasion, and the world is in a bad state. Most of the surviving population lives in the cities that survived the war with most of the major cities being reduced to ruins, while others have made settlements out in the wasteland, and some exist as nomads. Though most of the world has been devastated by the invasion. Nature has started to heal and has started to reclaim the ruined cities. Which efforts have been made to rebuild and repair what has been lost or ruined.
Currently, the world is controlled by the authoritative dictatorship that is the Terran Union. Led by the Columbian Lucián Carita, the capital of the Union is Geneva. There are several groups trying to overthrow the Union across the world, but they are disorganized. The most successful was the Defiant in Europe.
Though there are still Xarzaen bases located around the world and are fortified, most have stayed within their bases, with some launching occasional raids for supplies.
Technology
After the end of the invasion, humanity's technology advanced quickly due to access to alien tech technology. However, the technology humanity currently uses is often a mix of pre-invasion technology and reverse-engineered alien technology. So you can see a mix of both old and new technology being used. Though when it comes to powering said technology. Most are done by either advanced hydrogen fuel cells or small scale nuclear fusion. However, this tech is somewhat widespread and so there are parts of the world that still rely on old fossil fuels.
When it comes to weapons and armor, the security forces of the Union use conventional firearms, while the military tends to use magnetic-based weaponry. Energy weapons are reserved for the elites and spec ops units of the military. Though at the moment, laser weapons are the most advanced energy weapons available though there are rumors of plasma weapons being in use. Power armor is in use but only by the elites and spec ops units of the military.
AI has seen advancements but not as much as other advancements with reverse-engineered alien technology. Semi-autonomous robots have been made for both civilian, police, and military models.
Terran Union's Forces
The Security Robot - The lowest of the TU's forces. The security robot is semi-autonomous and is used to patrol the cities of the republic and guard low-importance buildings. Acting as both police and security and coming equipped with conventional projectile-based weapons. Though the robots still required human aid, they are still a viable threat since the Terran Union does not take disobedience or crime well, and they are programmed to be aggressive.
The Heavy Security Robot is used to guard important buildings and used when during a riot or protest. These robots have similar programming to the default security robots but are deadlier in firepower with their minigun and grenade launchers.
Security Force is the human element to the security robots. Acting alongside the robot forces of the regime. The security forces act as the military police of the regime and are found mainly in the cities alongside the regime's robots. They come equipped with conventional projectile-based weapons and receive the same military training as the soldiers.
Soldier the standard rank and file of the Terran Union military. The soldiers of the Terran Union are equipped with better equipment than the security forces and use magnetic weapons. They acted as the face of the Terran Union. Though they also act as guards for important facilities and on the front lines when dealing with the remaining Xarzaen.
Shocktroops are elite of the Terran Union army. Coming equipped with power armor and laser weapons. They are called in when a threat is too much for the soldiers and when they need more firepower or muscle. Also acting as guards for VIPs and other heads of state.
Ghosts are best the Terran Union has to offer and the most unknown about unit. Before, the Defiant was nearly crushed. What the Defiant about them is that they use a prototype set of power armor that is able to cloak the user and are not limited to one type of weapon. Preferring to use the weapon type appropriate for the mission. Though there are rumors of them using plasma weapons and enhanced melee weapons.
The NL67 Ares Gunship/Transport, is one of the more advanced vehicles to come out of the invasion. The Ares sports six laser cannons and two retractable missile pods. Plus, able to carry up to eight passengers. The Ares was developed near the end of the war, but due to the manufacturing costs when it came out. It remains a rare sight outside of military bases and is used only when needed.
The D-R4M Enforcer, the APC commonly used by both the security and military forces of the Earth State. Created during the invasion, the Enforcer comes with two railgun turrets and a machine gun. Able to house up to eight passengers
The D-21 Matador is the commonly used military truck used by the security and military forces of the Terran Union. Able to house four people, including the driver. The Matador comes with a railgun turret that is controlled by a control panel inside the vehicle, and there is a sensor node on top of the truck that is used by the gunner to identify and aim the railgun turret.
The M-74 Badger, is the commonly used tank used by the military forces of the Terran Union. The Badger comes with a railgun cannon and two machine gun turrets.
The X-3 Hornet, is the preferred fighter used by the air force of the Terran Union. Armed with six laser cannons and two missile pods. Like with the Ares, the Hornet was developed near the end of the invasion and due to the manufacturing costs when it came out. It remains a rare sight outside of military bases and is used only when needed.
Xarzaen
The Xarzaen standing at 7'0 and having dark blue skin. They have six eyes, two main and four minor eyes. The Xarzaen, what is known about them, is that they are an imperialistic species that invaded Earth for its land and resources. They were planning on turning humanity into oppressed subjects and slaves, and the reason for their harsh measures to crush the human resistance. It was that they did not expect the level of resistance humanity offered and used harsh tactics to crush humanity's spirit, which caused major damage to the planet. The Xarzaen that still linger on Earth after the invasion are isolated in fortified bases scattered across the planet. Most bases are in strategic locations and require significant force to destroy. Which after Lucián's coup and the formation of the Terran Union. Attacks on the remaining bases have increased, but Lucián, with resistance groups though disorganized, are a threat to his rule. Making it so that he has to divert troops to deal with the resistance groups. So now the Xarzaen, with no way of getting off world and abandoned by their kind. They are waiting in their bases, ready to defend themselves and take as many humans as they can with them.

Background
Alain was born in Lyon, France, and the youngest of two. The son of a scientist and college professor, Alain early life was normal, and he had a good relationship with his family before the invasion. He was only twelve when the Xarzaens invaded. His parents were killed early during the invasion, and him and his sister were relocated to several safe zones in France as they fell one by one. By the time, France and later the rest of Europe were overwhelmed. Alain and his sister ended up in a old bunker that had been taken over by a group of French soldiers, and as the surviving European forces left in the region opted for a guerrilla war against the Xarzaens. Alain barely had time to properly mourn his parents' deaths and was afraid that they would be caught by the Xarzaens and end up like his parents. His sister did her best to comfort him and keep both of their spirits up during this time.
For years, Alain and his sister lived in the bunker and did their best to aid the French forces stationed there. His sister would join the French forces in their missions and conduct recon missions. While Alain did what he could and when he started to show an aptitude for technology. Did he start to be trained in tech matters and when the humans got their hands on the Xarzaen datapad and had access to their technology. Alain would be trained on how to understand Xarzaen technology and, more importantly, how to use it against the alien invaders.
He was eighteen when the war was finally over, and the Xarzaen's were repelled. But, Alain's sister was killed in the battle of Paris, which was the start of the liberation of Europe. He was deeply saddened by his sister's death but, he knew his sister did not die in vain, which did give him some comfort.
After the war and during the rebuilding, Alain decided with his skillset become a tech expert and help to bring back the Internet as it was heavily damaged by the invasion. He was a supporter of the new one world government that was the UEC and saw a future where humanity was united as a bright one. That vision of the future would be dashed when Lucián staged a coup, and the Terran Union was created. Now with a dictator in charge of Earth and ruling with an iron fist. Alain did not waste time to join up with the Defiant, a resistance group that was formed by veterans of the invasion and surviving officials of the UN.
For three years, Alain operated as a hacker with the Defiant. He used his skills to infiltrate and sabotage Union systems and networks. Doing what he could to help take down the Union and he was on the Liberty, the Defiant's newly acquired base when it was attacked by the Union. He managed to get to a helicopter and flee with other surviving members. He would unknowingly start the process of rebuilding the Defiant once his group reached a safe place, and he will not give up until the Union and Lucián is gone and the UEC is back.

Especially his dark grey gloves since he hates the feeling of wet gloves. Along with black pants and dark grey shoes. Which he does carry a grey leather satchel that he uses to store some of his belongings and a book and two notebooks that one he uses for drawing, along with some pencils. One thing that is hidden by his attire is a long scar on his back.
Personality: Alexander can be described as a polite, well-mannered person who acts like a gentleman. He is also an introverted person despite what he seems. However, he does enjoy spending time with friends and can hold himself in a conversation. Especially with topics that he is knowledgeable about. Alexander is an inquisitive soul who likes to learn and figure things out. While he does read books and can be called a bookworm. He has started to see things for himself and study in the field. What lies beyond the city, and what mysteries lie in the outside world. The first mystery he was fascinated by the massive tower in Tohjo City.
Which as he grew over the years. This curiosity grew, and he started asking his parents questions about Hoenn and the outside world. Despite the advice of his parents, would try to dissuade the thought. Alexander went to the only person he knew whom he could talk about this and had traveled around was his grandmother.
For his grandmother and late grandfather, in their youth, had traveled the world before settling in Tohjo City. So Alexander started to talk and listen to the stories his grandmother had while traveling the world. He listened intently, and it only fueled his desire to explore the world outside of Tohjo City. Along with sparking an interest in Pokemon since the tales of the different Pokemon his grandmother had seen and even kept one as a companion from Hoenn. An old Flygon named Iona.
His grandmother encouraged him to see the outside world for himself, but he should be prepared first and have a companion. So Alexander, now wanting to learn about Pokemon and explore the outside world. He started to prepare himself by enrolling at the Tohjo City Pokemon Academy. Which he earned high grades, and he started to think about what he really wanted to be. To want to see the world is one thing, but what will he do after that or during?
So, after thinking about and considering his desire to see all sorts of Pokemon and what he can learn about the outside world. He realized he could be an explorer of sorts, like his grandparents, or a researcher of sorts and felt that one way he could learn more about Pokemon was by battling with one. Learning how to care for one and seeing how they develop as they grow alongside a trainer. Along with studying and learning the mysteries and lore of both his home region and beyond.
His parents on the other hand, were less supportive of his dreams and goals. They prefer that he seek a career in something else. An engineer mainly, and has threatened to not support him financially if he does not study to be an engineer.
Still, this did not change how Alexander felt about his dreams, and he thought that perhaps he did not need his parents' money to do what he wanted. Which his grandmother supported him regardless and encouraged him. He started to plan how to get the money to support his goals.
Either by luck or fate, Alexander would get a call from Professor Camphor about a job because of his high grades at the Tohjo City Pokemon Academy. Seeing his chance, he accepted the offer, but before he left Tohjo City. His grandmother gave him a young Trapinch, an offspring of her Flygon. Which Alexander humbly accepted and is eager to show his new pokemon the world.
He now heads to the professor's lab to formally start working for her and helping her with her research. While preparing to start his dream and explore the world. Stating with his home region.

Either by luck or fate, Alexander would get a call from Professor Camphor about a job because of his high grades at the Tohjo City Pokemon Academy. Seeing his chance, he accepted the offer, but before he left Tohjo City. His grandmother gave him a young Trapinch, an offspring of her Flygon. Which Alexander humbly accepted and is eager to show his new pokemon the world.
He now heads to the professor's lab to formally start working for her and helping her with her research. While preparing to start his dream and explore the world. Stating with his home region.
Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: Alexander wishes to see as many pokemon as he can. As he explores the world and studying what mysteries and lore he can find. Favorite Kind of Pokémon: Alexander prefers Pokemon that are not aggressive and can be friendly to people and other Pokemon. Ones that can co-exist with others in nature. Along with being interested in Pokemon that are mysterious or had an influence in folklore or myth. Like Flygon being called the Desert Spirit. Also, Alexander likes Pokemon that could be considered noble and have dark-ish colors.
