Either RolePlayerGuild.com is glitching, or everyone is studiously ignoring my PMs.

Yeah, I couldn't decide between General or Casual interest checks. I guess it's because I'm not quite sure what system would be best here. All of us would be crew aboard one ship, but I also wanted the option to traverse space individually, hence the Warp Fighters. Each role should play out more like Artemis Starship Simulator, with a captain, gunner, helm officer, etc. The ship itself is sentient and *can* be controlled autonomously, but it needs humans to train it and give it a soul. We're training it from scratch - how to move, shoot, repair itself, and such like.

The Empire sees itself as a bastion of goodness, a light on a hill so to speak, but reality is a bit more complicated. At the start of the mission, we will be running various goody-two-shoes jobs like feeding orphans, building shelters for the homeless, rescuing the stranded, and the like. Later on, though, we will be delving into the darker side of the Empire, into its genetic experiments, morally bankrupt population, and corruption at the highest levels of government.
So I was rethinking the classes and stuff. I like the weapon triangles in Fire Emblem Fates. I don't much like how magic is handled, though. You're throwing the book at your enemies (literally!) while using combat-hardened staves to...heal. I suggest swapping the roles of tomes and staves. Complex magic tasks, like warping, fortifying, and healing, should be adequately written in tomes, while cheap destruction should be the purview of staves. With that, I present to you the weapon triangle:
* Swords & staves beat
* Heavy (axes/clubs) & bows beat
* Polearms (spears, naginata) & hidden (knives, shuriken, kunai) beat
* Swords & staves

Now for the base classes:
* Lord: swords, access to McGuffin
* Mage: staves (ranged magic attack)
* Sage: tomes (support magic)
* Archer: bows
* Rogue: hidden
* Myrmidon: swords
* Fighter: heavy
* Lancer: polearms

Note that mounts are handled separately. Fliers generally cannot bear much weight, so knights and paladins are relegated to horses if they want a mount. Available mounts include horses, wyverns, dragons, phoenixes, griffons, pegasi, unicorns, and winged unicorns.

Promoted classes:
* Warrior: swords, bows (promoted from Myrmidon, Archer)
* Wizard: staves, tomes (promoted from Mage, Sage)
* Assassin: hidden, swords (promoted from Rogue, Myrmidon)
* Ranger: hidden, bows (promoted from Rogue, Archer)
* Paladin: heavy, polearms (promoted from Fighter, Lancer)
* Knight: swords, polearms (promoted from Myrmidon, Lancer)
I'm sure some folks are interested, but hesitant to voice it because the idea seems undeveloped. Should I add more to it?
"Why not both"

Fire Emblem Fates certainly incorporates both. I think it could work.
@twannyman I see. I'll understand if you have no desire to continue. The choice is yours.

@Arya10108909 The problem is that if she's the leader, she's instantly recognizable. Lying about her name would not only be useless, but detrimental to her continued authority.
Crud, I just realized a few things. Arya, if I re-read your post right, you took control of the character I was using and then left it at that. I have no hook to write a reply from. It would be a tremendous help if you could delete the line where he/she states that they're from this territory and called Alcoro Hensieta.

Twannyman, please rewrite your post. The wife needs to be removed, and I need a hook to write a reply from.
I like the idea, but I have no idea who I'd want to play as.
@twannyman Please update your post.
@Arya10108909 Sorry for the delay. I'll respond soon. @FallenTrinity, Freya Allen is one of your Immortal Hands, if she didn't already tell you. ;)
Just procrastinating. When Arya's character lied about her identity, it threw me for a loop. And twannyman added an OP Hand instead of either becoming or selecting one. I liked your post, but I didn't feel comfortable replying to yours without addressing the other two players' posts.

So I've just been brooding for a while. I'll post tonight unless I'm forced to go to bed or something.
Ever play one of those 4X games? eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate? Suppose you've reached the endgame, finished all the technologies, and took over most of the known galaxy. What happens now? Well, buckle up soldier, because you're getting a front row seat.

You are the crew of a Crescent Empire star carrier, the most powerful vessel in the galaxy. You can destroy planets and stars, create life, travel through time, and generally kick ass. Your ship has a complement of Warp Fighters aboard as well. Warp Fighters are manned starfighters able to transform between bipedal mech and high-performance interceptor as the mission demands. Though most of the systems can be and are automated, Imperial military doctrine requires that wars be fought with lives on the line, so no remote drones for you.

The dirty little secret that the Empire isn't telling you is that it's falling apart. All this "perfection" comes at a great price, and your civilization was unprepared to pay it. People are spontaneously transforming into monsters, robots are becoming sentient and rebellious, and mysterious advanced aliens wielding the Empire's own tech have begun advancing on its colonies. Your mission is to restore order and peace to the Empire. You have the whole fleet at your command, and even a member of the ruling Council has joined your crew. Good luck!

Any takers?
