More seriously, spellcasting is fairly second-nature for her. She was grinding EXP in magic skills for hundreds of years, longer than most humans have been alive, and got pretty good at it before she was done in. Besides, the ring-tightening spell is one of the core functions built in to the ring. Eru was never under any illusions about the complex nature of the people wielding her rings, and even considered the possibility that there could be wearers other than the ones she intended. The tightening spell is a binary on-off feature, turned on when the ring is worn by an enemy or by someone inclined to reject tough love, and turned off in most other circumstances.

The follow-up spell that she was setting up for doesn't have to happen immediately.

It's not trolling. When Erudessa wants to cast magic from the ring that the wearer could perceive has self-harmful, she must first seal the ring on the finger to prevent the wearer from removing it and halting the spell. It means Eru is setting up to cast something painful.

The ring continued to grow smaller on her finger, and only stopped when it had become too small to remove. The Storyteller had not caused it to do that.

He looked at her and said, "Forgive me, I don't think I ever asked you what your name was? I'm Tiberius Longshadow. The girl you are sitting next to is Zenovia."

The girl cocked her head and examined Tiberius. The man's back was straight as a plank, and he strode with the arrogance of someone who prided himself on looking honest. That armor only increased his self-righteousness to the level of paladin. She resisted the urge to scrunch up her nose when she stretched out her hand to shake. "Morefindiel Vanarys. Call me Fin. You the leader or something? You carry yourself like one." Which was a much nicer way of putting it than what she really wanted to say.

"Ya captain sounds like quite th'lady," Kaite drawled. She cursed as she struggled to pick up the rag, and Gorman got the impression she had more colorful curses to vomit when she began cleaning up the blood. He would too if he were in her place. The sheer number and size of the wounds looked like they could kill human men much larger and tougher than her; that this little female thing was still alive could only be considered a miracle.

"I gotta lotta these, Gorman..." Kaite groaned, as if reading his thoughts. Her face twitched in a failed attempt to look intimidating, and in the end, she gave up and simply said, "Water, if you would," and handed the rag back to him. Gorman picked it up with his fingernails and beheld it for a moment. "Sure..."

@ineffable@Darkmoon Angel He trudged over to the little elf girl and the knight making dinner. "Is there a bucket anywhere I can use?" He displayed the bloody rag and gave a sheepish grin.

Or "and the deer smelled good. Kaite would have helped gut the creature, since the elf didn't seem the type to get her hands so directly dirty"

That kind of stuff.

I would focus more on building rapport with other players than on reacting to everyone's posts. Assuming Kaite doesn't want to talk to anyone else, her presence should still have an effect on other characters. Demanding a meal without a word of thanks, taking someone's tent, bleeding all over a person's nice shirt, and such like are perfectly valid ways to interact with other characters. Even if she isolated herself, she'd smell without a bath after a couple days, and there'd be no hiding that from others. You affect the world just by being. How you affect it describes who you are.

All told, though, your posting abilities are pretty strong. You're better than you think you are.

lol yep. The idea was that skinning a deer made her sick to her stomach, and in many stories, it is said that when you're sick, you turn green.

Gorman fetched the bag and cloth indicated. The water he found in a canteen. He wondered what she intended to do with the supplies; perhaps damp the cloth and use it to clean her wounds? Then what was the bag for? Realizing he would find out in a moment, he delivered the items to Kaite and sat down beside her.

"How did you find us, Gorman?" she asked.
Gorman shrugged and reached up to scratch his head. "I made a good guess. Before sending me off, Cap said to come back the way I came and meet up with you all while I'm at it. I knew I'd see you on the road at some point. She also said to run if you guys were hostile. I'm glad you weren't. Say, what do you wanna do with these items? You cleaning wounds or somthing? Can I help?"

The girl watched the proceedings with unnatural interest. When Tiberius offered her a chance to stay with their camp, she said nothing, but followed him in. Her dark eyes darted around the camp until they settled upon Zenovia. The sleeping elf seemed to glow a little, her aura protecting her body while she communed with the invisible and the departed. The girl made a point of sitting next to her and watched the Laina prepare the evening meal.
