Demetri was glad to see that Arthur and Andy didn't take it too harshly when he had to decline hanging out with them. He couldn't help but smile as the two began to protest on his little tease about Arthur causing trouble. He got up and made his way towards Bunker 9, following behind Lauryn's lead. "Oh I'm sure that's all it was." He said rolling his eyes. Demetri mimed the tip of an invisible hat towards Lauryn as she held the door for him. Making his way inside he looked around and marveled at the sights of it all. He'd seen the Argo III before, but something about seeing it suspended above him made it all the more fantastical. He walked past the submersible's, awe struck as he took it all in.

"Nice place you got here." Demi said, punctuating his statement with a whistle of amazement. He rubbed his hands together as he looked towards Lauryn. "Alright, so whatcha need me to do? Heavy lifting? Clean up? Whatcha got for me?" Lauryn looked at Demetri surprised before speaking. "It's been here for years, surprised you didnt even know about it." Lauryn said as she started to move a few things around. "Just a bit of cleaning, and heavy lifting a little bit of everything." She said as she dug into her pocket and pulled out a small little bag and tossed it to Demi. "Also been meaning to get this to you finished it a few weeks ago." Inside was a celestial bronze eye.

Demetri eye'd the bag warily, wondering what could be in it. He was surprised to see a celestial bronze eye in it. There was a warm smile on his face as he looked up back towards Lauryn. "Hey, thanks. I'll pop by the Infirmary later to see if they can help me put it in. Knowing me I'd mess it up somehow." Demetri pocketed the bagged eye before allowing his body to shift slightly. Growing a little more muscle mass. "Just point me where I'm needed and I'll do my best."

That moment, that second, felt like an eternity to Max. The feeling of helplessness, of letting everyone down as his magic fizzled and failed before a bitter cold sensation took over him. As he started to go back into consciousness, started waking up, he twirled around in his bed, his body trying to react to the blast of terrigen gas in an attempt to swirl the barrier around everyone. The spell had been long since failed, time having passed in mere seconds for who knows how long. Max fell to the ground, his arms barely capable of breaking the fall as he now faced the ground, all his weight on his forearms that now shook from un-use. His breathing was labored as he stared into darkness. Words he wished to speak didn't come out. He moved onto his back, reaching a hand up to his throat as if to coerce the words to come out.

When they finally did they were raspy, dry. Max had an urge to drink some water, quench his thirst and hope it helped with whatever was going on with him. His vision pulsate and faded from black, to blurs, never fully getting anything into focus as he continued breathing, trying to slow it down and get himself back to normal. He could hear Casper, rattling on to someone, but even he wasn't talking as much as usual. Callie's voice piped up and then finally Sunshine. Max didn't know why, but hearing her voice made him so happy. It was weird, and something nobody would expect, but he was genuinely happy to hear she was alright. "Morning Sunshine, talking to yourself again?" His voice was raspy and dry, but he couldn't help but smile to be surrounded by such familiar voices.

As Harry awoke he noticed a severe lack of Veil. Last he had seen here she was close-by, in sight, and telling him she loves him. Now all he could see was a blur of the world around him. He went to reach up, feeling his was now laying down in a bed, and immediately noticed the change in attire. He couldn't see what he was wearing, but he could tell by the feel it was spandex, a material he wished had never touched his body. He could hear his little sisters voice nearby, causing him to stir from his bed and attempt to make his way over to her. Harry's legs were shaking, his hands outstretched before him as he tried to find his way around. "Veil? Veil?!"

When he finally spoke he heard just how hoarse his voice was. Panic began to set in more as he began to wonder just how damaged his vocals were. Singing was literally his career, and a bulk of his powers. Living life without it...he tried not to dwell on that thought long as he reached up and felt his skin. It wasn't as dry and cracked as he thought it would be. How long had they been out? What happened? Where was the X-cutioner? Harry tried to find his twin, singing a song he had used often when looking for her. "Well, sometimes I go out by myself
And I look across the water
And I think of all the things of what you're doing
In my head I paint a picture

Since I've come home
Well, my body's been a mess
And I miss your curly hair
And the way you like to dress

Oh, won't you come on over?
Stop making a fool out of me
Why don't you come on over, Valerie?
Valerie"

Kwassi was a bit disheartened when he saw that Spider-Man wouldn't be joining them. He was still full well and happy that his king would be with him, even if it was just to visit shelters and look for alien cats that hated green invaders. He was running through plans in his mind when he heard the most unlikely of voices speak to him. Oliver climbed into the truck next to him and began idle conversation, complimenting his idea in a fairly awkward fashion. It had been a while, it seemed, since anyone from S.H.I.E.L.D had offered him a friendly chance. Even those recently rejoining from space endeavors had seemed to immediately dislike him. He offered the awkward geek a smile, extending a hand out in friendship. "Think nothing of it my friend. You're idea was quite sound as well. I do not mind constructive criticism. It is only when others shut down ideas and offer none of their own that I begin to feel irked."

When they reached the Animal shelter, Kwassi's stomach became knotted and twisted. The name was an unfortunate choice, even more so knowing others prided themselves on this form of heritage. He didn't say anything, not wanting to add to the chamber of voices already airing out their disdain for the place. Instead focusing on T'Challa, Goose, and the mission ahead. He finally clamored out of the truck bed, looking at the building before finally speaking. "The sooner we can find these flerken, the sooner we can leave this unfortunate place." As far as secret hideouts went, Bartons seemed ro be out in the middle of nowhere, hard to find. But it was unfortunate to know he lived so close to a location that would condone this kind of thought.

Maddie waited outside with Colby. Taking a seat next to him by the door as they waited for whatever it was they were needing to do there. He leaned against Colbys shoulder now that it had been free from his cat. Maddie's own feline following suit and curling up into his lap as they sat there. "What a wild day it's been so far." He looked past the treeline, keeping an eye out for any movement or sounds incase the guards gave chase, or worse Maleficent sent more goons to finish them off. As he spoke, Matthew absent-mindingly pet his cat, looking off and thinking about the situation they were in. "I really hope we can find Jack. I get why she's so upset, I don't know what I'd do of I lost you." Matthew turned his head, pressing a sweet kiss against Colbys cheek before resting back on his shoulder.

It appeared Megan had a key that belonged to both of them. From the sounds of it, Merlin said that would be good enough. Maddie lifted his head, poking it around the door to see what it was that they were all doing. He'd seen something like this before, using pendulums to scry over a map and find something. He'd assumed it a myth, but here it was happening before his very eyes. Maddie pulled out a book and pencils and tried to jot down the words that were being chanted, but the more he listened the more it sounded like garbled madness. He would've assumed he could at least get the phonetics of it, even if it was madness given who his father was. But anytime his pencil went to paper it refused to write anything of value, as if he couldn't comprehend the thought of them. Maddie frowned, putting his stuff away. "I was hoping to learn that scry spell. Incase we get separated somehow I could always find you." Maddie pulled out his deck of cards, giving Colby the King of Hearts. "Incase we ever get separated, you'll have something of me."

Demi tugged on his jackets collar like he'd seen in the movies whenever a cool kid did something awesome. "Aye I'm cool, that's good to know then." He chuckled, grabbing another bite of his food as Arthur asked him to join in making snowmen, Andy tacking on to the notion. He looked over his shoulder, looking back towards the Hephaestus table before looking at Arthur and Andy. He reached his hand behind his neck and began to rub it, a bad habit he picked up from how many times he'd seen Zeke do it. Stopping himself almost immediately before his hand fell back to his side. "Maybe I can join in a bit later? Kinda just promised Lauryn from the Hephaestus table that I'd help them fix up the Argo III after she's done eating. That and hopefully she can help me build a cool eye or something." He said as he pointed to the gauze and tape that currently covered his missing eye.

Demetri went to take a sip of his drink when his ear began to sting as Lauryn flicked it and whispered something into Andy's ear. He didn't know what she was saying, but whatever it was it couldn't be good. His eye narrowed slightly in annoyance as he stood up from the table. "Whatever you're saying, just remember I asked for this to be kept secret. And that means from everybody." He leveled a look on Lauryn before looking towards Andy and Arthur. "You two behave now while I'm gone, and Andy, make sure Arthur doesn't get into too much trouble." Demi joked as he downed the rest of his drink. "Alright Lauryn let's head to it." Demetri gestured for her to lead the way as he ruffled his siblings hair before exiting the dining pavillion.

Max couldn't help but roll his eyes at Sapphire. Sure the odds were against them but they didn't need a pessimist at this time. They needed focus and determination, something he wasn't sure she had. "We worked great in the sewers together and coordinated a rescue with little to no time to prepare. So I think we can handle a bit more than you believe." Max looked down at his robes, trying to feel some confidence in himself as a student of the mystic arts and looking for an approach that would lower the risk of the bomb detonating. So far Callie was the only one with a plan, one that sounded very good right about now. Well with the exception of sending Jim to space, Max wouldn't kill him but he may send him off to the Raft it able to. He was in thought he hadn't noticed Sunshines wisps of green smoke until the X-Cutioner began to call them out.

Panic ran through his mind, trying to find the solution faster but he kept coming up with the same thought. What if I just teleport him away with me? So if it goes off it won't hurt anyone. If it only hurt him, that would be OK. But then he recalled that James mentioned his ability to teleport and all it would do is remove Max from the playing field and have the team one person down. Veil dropped everyone's invisibility but his and Sapphires. He looked towards Veil confused, trying to see if this was the signal to call for backup. But it felt too early. Before Max could even look to Sapphire for advice, Callie had sent off a blast of electricity towards their enemy and not even a moment later did the bomb go off. In that split second Max began to instinctively cast a barrier spell, but all that he managed was to twirl some snow before the magic vanished from his hands and his body became frozen.

It broke Harry's heart to hear his sister speak those words. Fear panging him that it might be the last words he hears her speak. There was a dull sensation on his lower back, a ghost pain from when he was paralyzed. Letting him know that things could go very wrong very fast. He tried his best to ignore those who were being vocally negative. That never helped in situations like this, but neither did talking back to them. They didn't need infighting right now. So he focused ok what he could do. He listened to the sounds of the area around them, trying to see if he could find the X-Cutioners heart beat and see what kind of music it played. He wished it wasn't one of mayhem and blood, that perhaps inside the man was a scared child waiting to be coaxed into the light. But as he listened he heard two interesting sounds.

The first was the X-Cutioner calling them out. Having been made, only to have Callie almost instantly attack. He could hear the beats of her heart, almost overshadowed by Sunshines song that played until he heart something a bit more somber. The melody was overpowering and it was only too late that he realized it was Sapphires song. He didn't even have time to turn and se her, to ask what she was doing, when suddenly the air got bitterly cold and then there was nothing. Only snow and ice and statues of friends encased in ice. And Harry was frozen, his eyes darted towards his sister to make sure she was the last thing he saw if he was to leave this world.

There was so much to unpack there that Kwassi felt as if it was about to get whiplash from how much Sparky was going back and for with her words. Sure, she had said that she could do it without his help, but in the same breath she mentioned wanting to be of help since he wouldn't be able to physically be in the mission. So it was only the next logical step to believe she wished to work on the device alone, giving her contribution where she could and allowing the others to do theirs out in the field. But now it seemed she only wished to work alongside the other females that she knew. Kwassi had met fierce Wakandan warriors capable of dismantling a man in mere seconds, and yet this Sparky carried the same intensity and ferocity over the need to keep him away from a task.

Luckily he had no real complaints. Who worked on the device didn't really matter so long as it worked in the end. So Kwassi was more than willing to go out on a Flerkin hunt. Hopefully Goose wouldn't eat anyone on the ride there and he only wished they could find a few more. He got up and gave a nod towards T'Challa before washing his dish and placing it in the drying rack next to the sink."Spider-Man will you be joining us on the Flerken hunt? I would love to pick your brain on the ride there." He nodded towards the truck to web slinging hero, as if to ask him to follow along and speak if he wished to. Kwassi grabbed onto the side of the truck, stepping onto the tire before hopping onto the lip of the bed and sitting down.

Matthew rubbed the back of his neck, looking at Colby as he was panting and trying to speak between breathes of air. He didn't think it was such of a run, though when he stopped to think about it, his heart was racing and he could feel a bead of sweat forming on his forehead. Maddie looked back, seeing how much distance they had cleared before looking towards the others and then finally back at Colby. "Sorry, I wasn't thinking I just...I just had to get out of there." He let go of Colbys hand, rubbing his bicep as he looked at his tired friend...boyfriend? Oh gods what does he even call him now? Matthew leaned against the tree waiting for Colby to gather himself. "We can walk. That's fine, I just...I don't do well with abuse of power...bad memories, so...I had to get out of there..." His eyes were distant, staring past Colby, or anyone for that matter, as if to look into the past.

When he finally snapped back from it, Maddie placed a hand on Colbys' Jack, giving him a pet before gliding his hand onto Colbys face and looking at him longingly. "C'mon, let's go regroup with the others. I think I heard Merlin say we're close by, that and I'm sure Megan would sooner slice us in half with Excalibur and carry us then let us drag behind." Matthew began to walk back towards the others, his hand held out of Colby to grab it if he wished. The walk wasn't long, finally reaching the tower when Merlin asked Megan for something of Jacks. "Hopefully he left something behind in the tavern that we grabbed...right?" He wasn't sure how much Jack carried on him, what's more he didn't know if anyone bothered to vacate his room and snag his things.

Demi rolled his eyes at Zeke, placing his hands crossed against his chest as he did so before turning his attention back towards Lauran from Hephaestus table. "Sorry about that babboon of a man. Just about makes me mad. Anyways, I don't mind helping you guys out on the Argo III. Hopefully I can be of some use, though I'm not sure with what yet." He considered what he could possibly do, and settled that at best he would make a good forklift by shifting into a large beast and handing over heavy supplies. That is unless someone taught him how to fix something. He shook the thought of of his head and came back to the present. "Right, so the thing I need help with. I'd like to learn, well it's not even me actually I'm just pulling a favor for another camper that wishes to remain anonymous. Honestly it's a chore but hey I've got time for chores, anyways I was hoping you could teach me to build something but I can't say in front of everyone. Figured in the mean time I can pick up how to make myself an eye so I don't have to keep covering it up with bandages, or at the very least maybe make an eyepatch while I'm at it."

Demetri gave Lauran an awkward chuckle, seeing that this was going about as smoothly as crunchy peanut butter. He tried his best to give her a big cheeky smile, dimples as all before finally his shoulders dropped and he gave her a leveled look. "Look I can't say much about it cuz it's supposed to be all hush hush and I don't want to break my word ok? So can you help me? Please? I'll even throw in the added use of me cleaning up around the shop." Demi tried to give Lauran his best puppy dog eyes, but it'd been a while since he attempted them and boy was he rusty. Lauran matched his leveled look from before before speaking. "You know the whole puppy dog eyes crap won't really work on me, i'll help you but just be straight up next time. Just give me like ten minutes to finish eating." Demetri lit up with excitement, wanting to hug her but thinking better of it. "Oh thank you thank you thank you. You got it, I'll go finish up too just let me know when you're ready."

Demetri made his way back towards his table, seeing Andy and Arthur sitting together. "Mind if I join in? Or is this cool kids only?" He ruffled Arthur's hair before sitting back down and grabbing his drink. "Mornin' Arthur, how's the day treating you so far?" He didn't know why but he felt as if he was interrupting something, but honestly that seemed to be his specialty and so he just went with it hoping Andy wouldn't mind. He wanted to give her room to grow and find herself, but not so much room that he was absent.

Max was the last one to step through his portal. Always worried that if he didn't someone might get left behind on his account. The day had started out grim, and it only got worse from there. Hebwas mentally beating himself up over this, had he not gone missing, had his powers worked properly, the X-Cutioner wouldn't of had this opportunity at the Glitter Factory. They wouldn't of been searching for them, and maybe they wouldn't be having to solve such a huge crisis with such limited people. They'd talked about the idea of asking the Hellfire Club, given how reluctant the illustrious X-Men were to show up, or at the very least Charles Xavier. He balled his hand into a fist, anger coursing through him before Casper began to talk to himself, or Ben, it was hard to tell at times. It seemed their ghostly scout had found out that the X-cutioner was the bomb, and theories came pouring out. Max listened carefully to each as he considered his own.

"We need to move under the assumption that he does have a Deadmans switch. And that teleportation can be an issue, so to those who have seen it first hand how does he do it? James you mentioned a device? Is it a belt? Wristwatch? Anything we can go off of more. That way if I can see him make a motion towards it I can at least try to bind his hands the other way." Max reached into his bag and pulled out his digital camera, noting the time before pressing his eye against the viewfinder and zooming all the way in. The extremist was holding a large red button device in his left hand, perhaps a detonator of some kind. He passed the camera to Zari, pointing as to where to look. "He's holding a red button in his left hand. Either a detonator, or a red herring, I don't know. Zari, Waves, can either of you feel any tech in it? Can you guys disarm it without his knowing from this distance? It could afford us some time if he goes to use it and it doesn't work. The confusion would only give us a moment, but it could he a tide turner. Aside from that I'm on board with Callie's plan. I'll...I'll have to think of where to send him..."

Max clearly wasn't ok with the idea of sending him to space. He wasn't here to play judge, jury, and executioner. They had to be better than who they were up against, and he had seen people with his power attempt to play god and it wasn't pretty. Max thought on calling for help from Wanda but last he knew of her she was most likely joining the X-Men for her brother. His mind went to Strange, but would he just seem incapable and needy? Or was it Hubris to think he could handle this without his aid? The line was thin, and Max was unable to see it. He gave a defeated sigh for a moment as he mentioned for Zari to return his camera. "Veil if things go bad, if you think we can't do it alone, give me the sign, I'll try and get help here. Even if it's just them...I'll trust your call."

Harry felt absolutely useless as they went about disarming bombs. There wasn't much of anything hr could do except for pace and wait for it all to be over. When the penultimate bomb was defused he was beginning to look concerned. It was nearly done, just one more to go, and yet there wasn't any resistance at all. This last bomb, the Lincoln Memorial, it was going to be big. When he crossed the portal and saw the barrenscape, save for the few college kids about, he thanked his stars that there would be minimal casualty if a fight did break out. Just as he was beginning to see the brightside, Casper delivered the bad news, and Veil compacted it into a greater warning. They had one shot, one chance to get this right. This wasn't even a fight, it was a delicate dance on a razors edge, and Harry wasn't sure if they could keep up.

He tapped his fingers against his lips, thinking. There wasn't much he could do to stop him from teleporting, save ruining his hands or eyes. But even then Harry wasn't sure how delicate of a touch the tech needed. If it was the slam of a button he could do it even if he only had a stub. "Just let me know what part I need to play in this and I'll play it. I can distract, blind, or just keep blasting him, but I'm sure we want him alive." It wasn't just a question of a deadmans switch, it was a question of morality. "Veil if things go south...I love you little sis."
