Embarrassment ran through Max, coloring his cheeks with a tint or red. Of all the moments for his powers to disagree with him, why did it have to be now? Why couldn't he do the simplest of things for even just a moment? He'd thought back towards every other instance of his levitation, realizing each one was done out of survival rather than for fun. The only time he'd managed to do it without being in peril was while attempting to contemplate on the spell and purposefully meditating alongside it. Max wanted to grip his hands in frustration, but if Selene was out here, he didn't want to show her any more weakness than he already had.

Just as Max was about to attempt to untangle the magic again, he felt his connection snap, right as he turned to see a dark figure talking in a language he didn't understand. He fell down onto the stage, eyes still fixated onto her as she told him to meet her at the witching hour. Max watched the shadows before him, noting how much time he likely had before this encounter, and turned to look at Jack as he stood up. He didn't speak, didn't say anything, just gave the man a reaffirming nod to indicate that he would allow him to show him where this Glade was. Max brushed his clothes, taking off invisible dirt in an attempt to settle himself back into his mind and away from what had just occurred.

Max tried not to roll his eyes as Magneto gave his speech. He appreciated the gesture of the gift, having been into space himself, but the notion that mutants were the finale in the evolutionary chain? He was certain humanity thought themselves that way once too. Life will always find a way. Max carefully grabbed his case, opening it slightly just to peer inside and see the object for itself. He began to wonder what properties it might hold for his powers, if he could perhaps forge it into a wand and use it to help him cast. His nerdier side wished to make a sword or dagger like Sokka, but he didn't wish to take any lives.

Harry wasn't sure what he had planned. Hr was on a foreign island, surrounded by mutants, with the eyes of their past nemesis watching their every move at the moment. He had nowhere to go, no place to call home here, no friends to run to that weren't grand standing on stage. As he took another step towards the edge of the stage his vision began to blur, the world seemed to spin around him as nausea hit and panic slowly made its way in. He didn't get far into his feelings, seeing his twin appear before him and holding his hand. At that moment she acted like an anchor to him, and all he could do was stare into her eyes and try not to focus on the strange yet beautiful island.

Harry took in a deep breath, exhaling slowly before speaking. "Ça va? Ça va? Je suis sur une île à des kilomètres de chez moi sans nulle part où aller, sans but, je vais très bien!" He spat out in a stage whisper, hoping the telepaths weren't projecting anything being said here. Harry sucked in air before looking at Veil's eyes once again. "Are you not the least bit concerned? What are we doing here? What even is the point if mutantkind has this now? I...what was it all for?" It wasn't fair to ask so much of his sister, but he didn't know what else to say.

Maddie blushed slightly as Colby mentioned the adventure so far had been rather weird. To be fair he wasn't wrong, but part way along on this adventure and whirlwind they had become closer than he had ever thought was possible. He hoped that at the very least that wasn't part of what made it weird. Before much else could be said, a light began to burst forth through the cracks of the door, causing Maddie to slip his finger into the end of a knife and sliding it out, twirling it into the palm of his hand defensively. If the soldiers had barged in already he didn't hear it, but where else could the light be coming from?

There was a stillness to the air, silence clinging to it as Merlin and the others took in their surroundings and Maddie held his breath to soften the sounds from where they hid. Finally the group upstairs spoke and Colby took to the stairs to warn them. Panic ran through his mind as he thought of all the ways this could go wrong. What if the soldiers had a mage? Created a sound of Merlin's voice to lure them out? This could all be a clever trap and Colby may have just ran headfirst into it. Matthew continued to hold his breath, no longer for stealth but to steel himself as he ran after Colby, knife in hand and ready to throw it at the first soldier he saw. Lucky for him it wasn't a trap, his breath rushed out of his chest as his knees began to weaken and buckle beneath him. Fear creeping into him about how he almost lost Colby in his mind.

Kwassi tensed as he saw Jacokbsen walking up towards his imposter. His eyes scanned the room, no one was in position and here was this man just throwing it all out and for what? He watched as The President punched his skull self, Sparky coming onto the radio to let everyone know it's go time and in those mere moments it felt as if all hell broke loose. Oli wrapped up the Skrull before them in a flag and the enemy easily tore out of it, while Raynor stopped one guard from radioing for help and Matt knocked out the other. There were only two threats left and one turned into a 10 ft tall beast with electricity crackling off him and the scent of ozone filling the air.

Kwassi figured that if the skull had electric powers then his tech wouldn't do much good against him, so he turned his attention towards Skrull Alex who had just frozen Cap and taken him out of the fight. If he did that to anyone else they'd be up a creek. Kwassi dipped his hands into his pockets and slid on his electric brass knuckles, static crackling at the tips of his knuckles as he put his hands up defensively. The idea was simple enough, disorient the Skrull with a few electric punches before damaging his windpipe so that he couldn't call for help or even use his breath attack.

Kwassi took to the enemy running, throwing his first punch and cracking him square in the jaw. Hoping that the electrical blast would cause his mouth to tense up and offer him a few moments before the next breath. His second hit followed through beautifully, quickly knocking the Skrulls head back and exposing the neck as he uppercut him on the chin. As his left hand was finishing the blow, Kwassi's right hand pulled out his staff from his lower back and extended it. He gave the weapon a flourish before jabbing it into the exposed throat and sending bolts of electricity down the shaft. There was a snap and the Skrull fell down dead.

Kwassi didn't have much time to process what he'd just done, knowing there was still another threat on the table. He gave his staff another flourish before holding it behind his back and looking towards the large Skrull. "I've already paired off with an extraordinary fighter, so beating you should be a piece of cake." He said nodding towards Bonnie as he tried to taunt the Skrull towards him.

Demetri nodded along as he was instructed on what to do by Lauryn. It seemed this would end up being only the top piece, but truthfully Demi didn't know what that even meant. Nevertheless he trusted her and her ability to make magic happen around a forge, watching the bronze closely until it began to glow a bright yellow with red hues surrounding it. It was then he was told to pull it out, as he carefully maneuvered the tongs and bowl over towards the mold and began to slowly pour it in, making sure it wasn't fast enough to splash nor slow enough to cool down before he was finished. His tongue stuck out as he concentrated on the task, beads of sweat collecting on his forehead until it was all done.

Demi wiped the sweat from his brow before placing his hand on his hip. Looking towards Michel who had joined them for a moment. "Well that's no attitude to have, and I should know… it's what I would do. Take a break, make something else and come back to it from a new perspective. Staring at something won't make it make any more sense, sometimes you gotta stand back to see the big picture before you can focus on the details. Ya know?" He gave the kid a cheeky smile of encouragement before turning back to Lauryn. "Granted I know nothing about forgin so what's next."

Cassian watched as they all walked away, dropping his smile and sticking his 5ongue back at Andy. He rolled his eyes and was about to go sit down when suddenly another person was by him. Pale skin, ginger hair, she must be a Weasley. Her accent was delightful however, and brought a genuine smile to his face. "I do have that talent I suppose. Not really sure why they were so annoyed, I was only saying what most others were thinking." He offered Janelle a shrug of his shoulders. "Names Cassian, and who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"

Cassian's introduction was cut short as suddenly he felt a shift behind him as an Ares kid decided to give him a wedgie. Cassian's eyes flickered purple as he spun in place, hand grasping at his panflute and bringing it up towards his lips with a devilish smile. "No worries friend" He punctuated his sentence by playing a melodic sound, something one would attribute to faeries and weefolk. A jovial tune with a whirlwind of whimsy and mystery. When the playing stopped he held up a hand to his mouth "Oops wrong note"

Max dropped his shoulders ever so slightly as Renegade began to answer his questions. He was hoping for more information, more details, yet all he received was a confirmation on magical mutants and that's it. It was clear he needed to visit this Glade and see what it had to offer. Maybe they could help channel his magic, focus it so it wasn't so chaotic. A part of him worried they wouldn't appreciate his powers, telling him that it was literal chaos magic and could never be tamed. He tried not to think on it further.

Ten Minutes Later

Max felt awkward and uncomfortable standing up on the stage. Not that those feelings were anything new to him, but being with the underground while having the Hellfire Club plus one presiding over them? It was a new level of weird and uncomfort. He stood silently as Reeva spoke, as he tended to do whenever he crossed her path back at the headquarters, listening to her words and feeling a pang in his heart when she mentioned Glimpse. He refused to believe she passed away, she was fast and was a telepath, she could've handled her own against a few agents.

Max decided she was simply M.I.A. Perhaps off with some other mutants laying low and keeping to herself so that S.H.E.I.L.D. couldn't find her. As his thoughts drifted back to the present he was suddenly faced with needing to introduce himself to the audience. He scanned the thousands of chanting mutants and figured Selene could be any of them, what's more the other magic mutants could be there too. One by one the Underground introduced themselves, and as they got closer towards Max he only got more nervous.

When it finally came his turn he took a deep breath, exhaled, and went to use his powers. Until now he had only ever levitated himself, he never even knew it was possible for it to extend to someone else. But as he tried to fly up into the air his visuals stayed the same. Nervously he shifted his gaze and saw Havok flipped upside and dangling in the air, clearly not pleased. Max tried not to laugh, as he let Havok remain there and tried to float once again. His climb was steady and looking good, as he moved up five feet his voice echoed "I'm Warlock" But as soon as the words left his lips he began to slowly spin in place and eventually ended up upside down as well. He tried to right himself but no matter how hard he tried his magic was clearly disagreeing with him.

Harry was glad that Kristina seemed to follow along with him, leaving the pair alone. There hadn't been much of a conversation after that. He kept to himself and his thoughts, trying to piece together a few things until everyone piled out of the room and were asked to head towards the ceremony. He got up, dusted off his pants, and began to follow them out towards the Carousel. It wasn't long before he was standing up on the stage with everyone else, looking out towards the crowd and seeing thousands of people cheering them on. He was used to crowds, having been a live performer and using his powers to amplify his stage.

This felt different however. Harry didn't have stage fright, but being up here felt wrong. He felt like an imposter, as he watched each and every member of the Underground slowly introduce themselves. For years he wished to perform in front of a crowd this big, to have the gigs that Dazzler did, but now that he had the audience's attention, he didn't want it. It was for all the wrong reasons and he couldn't think of a right one. So when it finally came time to say his name he simply looked out to the crowd and said "My name's Echo…" His voice trailing off before suddenly speaking again "I'm sorry, I don't belong up here." If there was a mic he would've dropped it, as he started to walk off the stage.

Salem walked into his lecture hall, taking in his surroundings as he noted the various vials lining the walls, the piles of gems decorating a few areas, and live animals caged throughout the facility. There was a hint of excitement within him, finally able to try something new, something he hadn't been studying for and training his entire life. The copious oddities allowed his imagination to run wild, trying to figure out what each one was used for, or perhaps what they were beforehand. Salem hadn't fully considered the potential for transmuting living things with the exception of plants. But the reptiles and insects now made him wonder if that was untrue.

Salem was pulled out of his thoughts as the professor prompted them all to take a seat at one of the long solid black tables. Taking his place, he removed the gloves, placing them into the pocket of his apron and then fastening the goggles around his neck. He watched as his diminutive professor walked across the class, only able to see where he was heading thanks to the large staff he carried around. So far it all seemed simple enough, though the idea that he wasn't allowed to practice his magic outside of these hours was extraordinarily frustrating. He wondered if Max had any such restrictions for his major, or if he'd still care to learn what Salem had if he wasn't able to practice them.

Upon hearing the second rule, Salem put on his gloves and slid the goggles up over his eyes. He ran a hand along his hair to ensure nothing was loose or straying, before undoing the leather strip and pulling his hair into a bun and tying it off again just to be safe. A part of him wished no one had any questions so that they may start sooner, but another wished someone did have something to ask in the event he had forgotten something.

Matthew sat there, hand clasped around the handle of his throwing knife as his shoulders deflated ever so slightly. Of course only Merlin was capable of activating his own wards and defenses. Why he didn't deign to allow one of them the ability to do so before they left was beyond him, but then again Wednesday Addams wasn't exactly giving anyone much of a choice at what speed to go earlier. Maddie rolled his eyes towards Hansel, a bit annoyed at him for asking. "F-for your information, I d-d-do know how to use them. Already hit M-Maleficent with one." Matthew watched as Colby began to make his way towards the Catacombs, listening to instructions rather than fighting against the grain. He slid his throwing knife into an empty spot in the bandolier and followed suit.

He wasn't sure how he felt about the situation at hand, especially being back in the Catacombs. If they were found out then they'd be at a severe disadvantage, the grounds were narrow, touching the dead only caused them to attack, and it'd be easy to pick them off one by one. When Colby asked him to see the book, Maddie couldn't help but say yes. His brown eyes entranced him and he looked so damn cute he couldn't resist but want to give him the world. So he did, he handed him the book and watched as he tried and tried but unfortunately couldn't find what he was looking for. As the book was handed back, Maddie wanted to pour through it himself, but didn't want to seem like he was double checking Colbys work so he placed the book inside his bag again. "This isn't how I expected our adventure to go."

Demetri took the apron and placed it nearby. It was hot enough without the flames, he didn't wanna risk passing out from heat stroke or he'd never hear the end of it from Zeke. He undid his jacket, tossing it to the side where it would be out of others way, revealing his black plaid button up underneath. Demi undid the cuffs and rolled up his sleeves three quarters of the way before sliding the apron over his head and tying it about his waist. "Meant to stop by the Cabin beforehand to drop off my jacket but I kinda got into my own mind and ended up walking here instead. " He said with a shrug.

He watched as Lauryn began to set up the molding, his attention darting around from project to project until it settled back towards her as he directed him with what to do. "Right, heat metal. Got it." He grabbed some of the scraps of Celestial bronze and placed it inside of a metal cup, watching as other campers worked and grabbed a pair of tongs to help place it into the forges fire to begin and heat it up. He wasn't exactly certain how hot it needed to be or how long to hold it there, just that it needed to melt. "Just tell me when I guess? Or am I already doing this all wrong?"

At this point Cassian wasn't sure which child he disliked more. The one constantly throwing jabs at him and finding just the right words to irk him, or the brat that was so blunt she could be used as a hammer to plow in a nail. She gave a crude but correct assessment of what had just happened, and he could immediately feel any sway he may have had on the new Roman slip away. Cassian had no idea who this Invidia person she mentioned was, but it did sound familiar to the story of how Narcissus was tricked into seeing his own reflection until death. "You aren't wrong, I simply meant even he would avert his gaze from his selfish love to see your beauty."

Cassian offered Mads a coquettish smile before she averted her attention back towards the two brats. The children of the Big Three sure had it easy around here it seemed. No short supply of people Roman or otherwise, simply throwing themselves towards them. He tried his best not to roll his eyes as he took another sip of his tea. Perhaps he should try harder with the lankier child of Zeus. That could certainly look nice within his cult. Cassian allowed himself to stay silent as the trio spoke before him, only breaking it to clutch invisible pearls when he was asked to stay away from the pair of twerps. "I've nothing but the utmost care for the young. But if you insist I shall do so at once your radiance." He flashed Mads another flirtatious smile before stepping back and allowing them all to follow her if they wished.

So far the plan seemed to be going off without a hitch. Kwassi saw his fellow operatives as he kept his pace behind Captain America on his left. He had black sunglasses folded into his coat pocket, a blue pocket square poking out from behind them as it was tucked inside of a black two piece suit. He followed along, keeping his eyes trained on his surroundings, looking for viable threats not only to the Super Soldier, but also to their mission. Luckily that was what his job was supposed to be at this moment, as he played the part of a Secret Service Agent, protecting Cap as they made their way towards the Oval Office.

Cap was doing his part, keeping conversation going while stalling them for time. Kwassi figured the team would be beginning to move into position soon, so he kept his facade up unperturbed by the time it was taking. He moved his way alongside Captain America. Stopping on the wall behind the chair that he had taken, noting the other two agents in the room with them. The Vice President and President exchanged a few words, and Kwassi wondered if there was some code embedded into the conversation. Unfortunately that wasn't his field of expertise, and he only hoped the other Agents in the room would be able to pick it up if it was.

As he stood there, in the same stance all the Secret Service Agents were in, Kwassi couldn't help but run through things in his head. The Skrulls that had been captured were taken back to S.H.E.I.L.D. which had a Skrull Director. He wished they had access to them, just a couple vials of their blood to run tests and try to create a toxin that worked better than what he currently had at hand. His earlier fights with the Skrulls showed him their bodies were capable of adapting to the paralytic he'd created. But he couldn't make anything stick without more information on their genetics. His mind kept running through scenarios for when this ambush would happen. It would have to be quick, and it would have to be quiet. They couldn't alert the other security details about what was going on. That meant silencing The President, and his two Secret Service Agents all at the same time so that no one could radio for backup.

Max wasn't sure how to take the news that The Queen, or Miranda, was giving to him. It all felt so tragic, to have raised Pietro and Wanda only to lose them because of the sins of the father. It felt so...wrong. A part of him wondered if either of his parents or family felt that way now. If any of them blamed another for his disappearance away from home and life on the run. He closed his eyes for a moment as the memory of the day he left flashed back into his mind. The fear, betrayal, and anguish still fresh inside of him. He shook the thought out of his head before offering Miranda an apologetic smile as he wasn't sure what else to say, what else he could say.

Max turned his attention towards Renegade when she finally addressed him. His pupils went wide with excitement as she mentioned this Selene again, but this time adding a new bit of information. A Voltus Glade. A place for all magic types. A million questions ran through his mind, trying to pick apart every word she said and analyze it to find deeper meanings or clues to more information. Max hardly had time to comprehend that Jack had been the one to offer to show him the location, too excited and blinded to feel any form of distrust towards the man. "I...how...I have so many questions. I didn't know there were other magic type mutants out there. I've met like three people that I can think of that had magic and only one was a mutant to my knowledge. How many more are there? Is their magic as chaotic as mine? Is all magic chaotic in nature?"

Harry faltered for a moment as Casper ran up empty for the cigarettes. His eyes bouncing between James and Casper for a moment before Ben popped out and finally Harry let out a small gasp. "I'm so sorry. You two were probably having a moment and I just- sorry I'll um see myself out." Harry began to move backwards but before he could get far however, he felt a poke in his side. He turned to see Kristina standing there with concern coloring her face as she asked him if he was ok. He bit his bottom lip from the inside as he gauged her look and weighed the options before him.

"Why don't we move away from the two lovebirds and give them some space? I'm sure they have a lot of catching up to do." He said, deciding to deflect the conversation away from the subject of his well being. Harry began to walk away once more, not far from where they were just further down the hallway where he pressed his back against a well and let out a slow but shaky breath. He began to ask himself why he was here? What the purpose of this all was now? And just closed his eyes as he slid down the wall until he was sitting on the floor.
