Sam jolted slightly as Constance joined them for the briefest of moments. It seemed Tony wanted them all to go outside. While Sam could see the merit in such an idea, namely getting away from potential recording devices, the weather itself didn't exactly lend any ability or want to do so. Sam had had a similar idea, though sneaking everyone down through the basement and into the burned down church would be a bit more difficult, but he doubted the location itself was bugged. Maybe they'd even find Miguel around there, who knew? He'd wanted to meet them all in his room later, preferably after he'd spoken to Juliane in private. But at least outside in the storm he could pitch his idea about the burned down location as a hub for safety.

Sam's thoughts were snapped as it seemed Rhi had finally picked up on what he had been trying to say this whole time. He smiled at her before nodding slightly with a softly hummed ‘Mhm' to keep discreet. ”Im thinking the extra information that was received in our welcome packs might help to explain the how or why the church had burned down. Was it accident? Or malicious intent? Currently its unknown, but I think if we all work together that maybe we can figure that answer out.”

One by one it appeared the Hex Girls were losing teammates. Sure the Margaret Carter kids had lost some as well, but from the looks of it they now greatly outnumbered the home team. Franklin let out a sigh. “Well…looks like we lost. I doubt they can recover from such a hard assault. Unless Thuy decides to pull out all the stops but that might get them disqualified.” Whoever the twins were talking to seemed to be getting up and leaving. He assumed their business had concluded, because he doubted that was an actual friend of theirs. If the Macleods were even capable of making friends that is.

”Thanks, it's only been a few minutes. He's a little feisty but so am I so I think it works out.” Chase joked towards Gideon. The Axe kid, Ben as he'd just introduced himself as, seemed to move down another row as flies began to circle and smack against their face. Gross. Chase turned to face the tiny onslaught as shadows crept up into the air and consumed the insects, teleporting them somewhere else. One of the contestants came careening towards them, flames ablaze as he stopped just short of Ben before leaving back down to the field. Chase scooted down another row to sit next to Ben. ”Good idea, closer seats means better view. Especially if they're doing stunts like that. It's like being right on the action. I'm Chase by the way.” He finally answered before nudging Ben slightly.

”So which school are you being enrolled into then? Or is your Uncle only showcasing them to you? I'm actually about to start a transfer as well, being made to and all that. It's why I'm here.” Chase spoke as if the idea of it all was a drag. To which it kind of was to him, but not entirely. There was definitely some things to look forward to, and some things he had questions to. Like, why did the earth bending girl look kind of familiar? And how soon can he join into a fight like this one?
Dorian Gray

Thelma was down. It took a combined effort, but she was finally down as Danni let his flames burn a little brighter than they usually allowed. Luckily the fight was warded off so that it wouldn't deal any real lasting damage…he hoped. He was about to congratulate Danni on it (as well as comment on not treating Sabine and April better) but when he turned to look towards him, Danni was hovering over towards the stands. That amount of power must've sent him ricochetting out. Dorian looked towards Ava a little incredulous. ”Dude, do you not banter? It's called bantering. Isn't that like…normal in a fight?” He asked her as she sped away and then appeared towards April. Fuck. Luckily his boyfriend had already anticipated the attack and took April away from the speedsters fists, but right into Thuy's flames. Another member out. It was now 5 v 5. They'd need to knock another person out and soon.

Leah went barreling in towards Thuy, bashing her fist so hard he could swear he felt it himself. Andy followed, and then Danni but the witch still stood there. What the fuck was she? Dorian needed to go on the defensive. They'd lost their shielder, and Percy could only Teleport so far. So while his boyfriend took care of Skylar, he went for his next target, Wil. Dorian ran towards the Shield Maiden, going ghost just before impact and taking over their body. Good, now he could use Wil's shields against them in lieu of April getting knocked out. The fight was now basically 5 v 3 and once those three were out Wil would have to either fight the rest of Excelsior or forfeit the match.

Sam gave Rhi a tight lipped smile. OK, clearly he hadn't gotten his message across. That point was driven in further by Ralph's response as well. His eyes followed Gordon as he began to leave the room, pretending to eat so as not to seem too suspicious before his back stiffened at Juliane's presence and message. Sam simply nodded back before she left. He couldn't rule out the fact that there might be some form of recording devices around them, whether visual or audio, but he needed to be safe. ”Pool is certainly an idea but not exactly what I had in mind. I was thinking more along the lines of discussing what was in our pamphlets and seeing what we could learn about the history of what happened here. A church was burned down and I don't think we know why, whether it was accident or arson it's hard to say but id like to find out. There are others that seem to agree as well.”

Was this too cryptic? Would Ralph understand? Rhi was probably already at a loss, more worried about Renee's passing than almost anyone else. He wouldn't blame her if she didn't know what he was talking about, and how could she? This so far was only between Millicent, Ralph, Miguel, Constance, and Tony. It appeared Ivanna and Rhi were out of the loop for now, maybe Sam should go speak to Ivanna to see if she was ok. As well as to figure out if they were also ‘blackmailed’. Though, her missing presence did send off a few alarms in Sam's brain. First Miguel but potentially with a clue for Sam, now Ivanna…and given the things he'd heard about her, it was certainly possible she could've done the deed. But – no, that's a little too “Confession of a Murder” to be right.

Cal knew as well as Barty did, that no amount of strings would allow for him to mess with the rooming assignments. It was all magically enchanted and sheer luck, or so they all say. He smirked at the notion however, like a cat playing with a mouse that was already caught between its paws. He wasn't fond of how Cal removed his arm however, though he supposed they were even now as he'd done the same just moments ago back when this…Cassie, had decided on how to grab her key. She was staring, and he couldn't quite tell if he liked it or not. Normally he'd live for the attention, but only after he knew it was for better not for worse. Witch hunts would do that to you, and plenty of witches have sold others out for less. ”I'd love to join your little tour – after I aid Nicky in our endeavors. Wouldn't due to have us behind on the first day.”

Barty waved the group away with a smile, and as soon as their backs had turned, he dropped it. ”Always work first fun later, but I guess there isn't any other way to it huh?” Barty whined as he followed behind his brother and went into their own room. Finley had already beaten them to it, and his own brother snatched up a bed leaving Barty with the final one. Not that it mattered to him. ”Now if only that same Covenmate could find a brain as well. The way she gawked at me you'd think she'd never seen two guys together. Not to mention her magic… poor Cal is going to have his hands full it seems, as will you my brother. But first –”

Barty began to decorate his room. Vertical wooden panels of wainscotting lining the lower half of his walls as the top half took on a dark green paint. The floor had several rugs overlapping one another, and the bed was plush with covers and pillows, as oil paintings decorated the wall in antique frames. It looked, homey.

The girl with an intense stare and vibrant hair had asked him a question, but no sooner had she asked than everyone had begun to devolve into their own pockets of conversation, all excited for the Mystery ahead even with Sariel as their guide. He hadn't gotten the chance to answer her, Finley he thought he'd heard her say, but the conversation quickly shifted to preferred mediums, and then to the topic of rooms. Franklin silent answered to himself, the answers to every question asked. Yes I do know the halls almost as well as she does, I too prefer things that are natural though not alive, typically corpses when I can, but I make do with wood and metal just fine. Ditto on not being much of a talker, I'm so observant I may as well be invisible at times, though Connie always seems to find a way to shine a light on me. And I suppose I'll see who I'm with this year, hopefully someone that can leave me alone.

Rohan was the first to leave, then Finley, then Annika, leaving Franklin and Igor behind as he swung his arms lightly before picking his leather bag back up and sighing. “Well Igor, time to unpack our room. Think we'll get someone interesting this year?” He asked his small rodent friend as he began to make his way over to where Laveau Hall was. He held his key tight in one hand, watching and waiting for a door to react and shift for him as he wished it. Upon reaching his door, it shifted, looking like a dark castle door with iron hinges, he placed his key within and stepped inside. He was greeted by several things all at once. A screeching manchild hopping on a bed, one of his Coven mates in a moody purple room, and a slight slip as he stepped onto his invitation.

Franklin looked towards Igor as he lifted his shoe, the rat scurrying down to grab the letter while Frankie made his way to the last remaining bed. The second he stepped one foot onto his own section, the room began to shift. Dark wood floors covering his side, as the walls around the bed appeared to close in as bookshelves manifested and filled to the brim on either side of the head or foot of the bed. Leather bound books on the shelves with a few loose papers stacked above them. The desk changed its shape into a drawing table, and his bed got several blankets and plush pillows that seemed to be decades old like a childhood pillow. Franklin placed his bag on the bed to one side as he flopped onto his back on the bed, an arm stretched out and off the side where his legs hung off. Dark iron chains came down from the ceiling, some holding a pair of candle holders with cream coloured candles that flickered to life. Franklin felt as Igor pressed the invitation into his hand, and he lifted it up to read.

Ralph had stopped by alongside Rhiannon, apparently she was with them. That much was obvious by the way she'd walked in with Ralph, but he'd also mentioned about what they'd spoken about last night. Sam thought for the briefest of moments before deciding Ralph must've meant Ghost Hunting. He'd heard some cultures used dance to placate or call upon spirits. Perhaps Rhiannon did the same, or the two were unrelated and she was just a firm believer in the paranormal unlike Candance. Wouldn't that be a wonderful juxtaposition? The Ballerina and the Breakdancer, a Non-Believer stuck in rigid system and the Believer break free of the system and making their own. Sam didn't have long within this train of thought however as Millicent both introduced Brendan and quickly left with him. Odd.

She'd mentioned Brendan was especially good friends with Felix too, and that's when it all clicked into place. Every string attached as he followed the trail left behind by Millicent for him to follow. Brendan was Felix's live-in boyfriend. That was why he wasn't at dinner last night, it was only family and nominees and Felix was working. Poor Brendan probably had to dine alone in his room. That aside, Millicent struck gold finding him. Man she was good. As the pair left, Sam motioned for Ralph and Rhi to join him. ”Join me? We were just discussing those informational brochures we all received. I think those two are going to ask some staff about what's possible while the storm rages on, I'm still not sure but was telling others if we want to make some plans we can try and meet together and discuss what our options are.”

Good, Prudence was out for the count. Now to focus on – suddenly if felt as though Dorian's vision had begun to blur. There were three Thelma's standing before him now. He'd seen that trick before, both while studying within the Sanctum and Kamar Taj, and earlier this fight. Skylar. Honestly he'd forgotten that wannabe was even in this fight, focused mainly on those who'd actually been impacting the fight. Danni wondered out loud about Tatiana, and how they planned to deal with her. The speedster zooming past them and back into their backfires again. Percy had been doing a good enough job playing keep away, and April had her shields, so Dorian wasn't worried. That is until April took a direct hit without an ounce of water coming up to defend her. Was she out of water? Had they pushed her too far? Fuck. They needed to win this fight fast, try and pull enough attention to give April some time to breath and catch herself.

”Funny Thuy, I was about to say the same thing. Jotunn, Smash a bitch! Luna, Hotshot follow after. I'll take care of the discount illusionist.” Dorian called out as he went to swing out with his sword again. His telekinetic energy building up along the blade before swinging outwards towards Skylar. By now he'd seen this jerk's moves enough to hopefully be able to predict them. He expected a dash of magic to slow his movements and maybe even redirect them if he could like he'd done with Andy. But just as he began his swing, he felt a tug inside of him. A link between himself and Percy. Dorian looked back towards his boyfriend and smiled as he felt his powers aiding him.

Percy made eye contact with Dorian. There was a strange feeling washing over him - as if he had made a jump, without any actual resulting movement. He raised an eyebrow. Was it Dorian…? He shook his head slightly, somewhat amused. Of course Dorian would already know how to call on Percy’s powers. He somehow outclassed him in their usage no matter what the scenario.

Dorian watched as Skylar had already begun to slow himself down, attempting to avoid his attack. ”Gotcha.” Dorian said with a smirk as his slash jumped forward in time and landed right where Skylar would be. Stunning him as the illusions on Thelma faded away so only the real one stood. ”Focus on the backfires? Cute, but you're ignoring the one person that can stall every one of your spells. 멍청한”

”Well, now that our dear covenmate has essentially thrown a wrench into my wonderful experiment that could've yielded us invaluable knowledge both into the inner workings of this Mystery as well as give us a baseline for magical prowess that resides within the two of you, I suppose we can move past that. But do know your complaint has been duly noted and logged for future references Connie.” Barty replied dryly as he mock clapped towards her. She did have some wisdom however, not believing herself so grand as to be able to escape the power of a cursed object's madness. Especially one of this caliber. It reminded him of old tales he'd heard back when he was a child, ones that would fit Connie all too well if she decided to stray away from her birds and towards the more feline aspects of transformations. He'd given her a warning once and only once years ago when he'd seen her first transform. “Careful what you shift into or you very well may be stuck like it.” All before leaving a book open to the pages of the creatures origins and lore, whether or not she read it after he'd left the room was beyond him.

Barty had managed to crack a smile as Pedrito mentioned he didn't think Croan liked him. He had a sense of humor, good, he'd need it for the tasks to come. Though their simple minded member with an uncanny resemblance to a man of his past, actually asked a decent question. Basic, but smart enough to show he cared to learn. Good. ”The simplest way to describe a curse is this, A form of magic so potent and focused so as to affect or decay, a person, object, or location. Now how exactly that plays out varies from curse to curse, and how it feels varies in the same way. Some are cold, empty, and biting. Others can burn or fill you with a sensation. This one in particular leads you towards madness, addling the minds of those who work in it. As for if inorganics have been used to aid in this, I've no idea. But what is a curse if not a form of potent enchantment, and I am an excellent enchanter.”

Connie had produced her key, Barty already knew who his roommates were, but seeing two of their covenmates shared a room was interesting enough. He pulled out his own key ”Well I already know my roommates, I was fortunate enough to get my twin and Finley. It'll definitely be a…fun…year. Though if ever we wish to study together I'd suggest the library or another's room as im sure mine wont be welcome to guests. Or…not for those purposes at the very least. With that being said, its time for me to go and have a little bit of fun. Oh, and you'll be receiving an invitation later on today for a little soiree be sure to read the invitation if you wish to join. It'll be a good chance to connect for our little Coven. Tata for now.” Barty said as he began to make his way over towards Callaghan's Coven. Wrapping his arm around Cal's neck before giving it a gentle kiss. ”Finely, Nicky, and I have our own room this year, care to check it out?”

”Yeah. My doors always open if you need to stop by and chat or discuss what sights can be seen around here.” Sam added as he watched Tony join Millicent and some (homeless) man all sitting together at the table. He was about to go and join them, both to hopefully discuss what Constance and him had just talked about but also to have a bit more of a relaxing meal. He'd still need to go and speak to Juliane when she had a bit more time, but also without raising any suspicion. So for now, he had to mingle. Sam made his way over towards their table, Tony having just left as Sam caught a glimpse of Millicent's look towards him. He fought an urge not to sigh aloud. Why did she have to be so abrasive at times?

He was about to sit when two more people walked into the room, Ralph and Rhi. Where had those two been off to? Sam wondered as he scooted into the chair across from Millicent for just a moment. ”He bathroom buddy, when you get the chance I wanted to chat a bit about the brochure from our welcome packet, see what all we can do while we wait out the storm.” His eyes kept glancing back towards the unknown man sat next to her before he finally said something. ”Im sorry, I don't think we've met yet. I'm Sam, did you miss dinner last night? I know some people were still a bit sea sick to join or stay for its full length.” He asked Brendan.

Max couldn't help but chuckle at Jen's antics. Sometimes she'd say the most out of pocket thing. He waved his hand, twisting the magic around the air as an image of Leah hulking out appeared behind the message Agatha had created. An aura surrounding her like a dragon ball z character as she silently shouted towards the heavens before smashing down atop Agatha's message and shattering it to nothing. Leaving only a flexing Leah in its wake with a milkshake in the other hand as if it was nothing to defeat them. The image faded before a sword came into view, slicing through the air as the word “Excelsior” appeared in its wake, a pile of chibi Hex Girls with swirling eyes and tongues out beneath it as if they'd been defeated. ”How's that?” He asked She-Hulk as he kept his eyes on the field.

The kids had really started to pull together, working as a team instead of individuals. Good. That was how their kind would survive, that was what being an outcast was. Forming a community amongst one another to help elevate each other instead of tearing themselves apart.

Harry's attention snapped towards Eva as she asked him a question. Which in turn raised one of his own in his mind. How did Andy get here? Last he'd seen of her was back on Genosha. Yet she was here, the same age roughly, and enrolled in a school. He didn't even know she knew how to read if he was honest. Harry leaned back to answer Eva before looking towards Max. ”That's…a very good question. Hey Max! How did Andy end up here?” If anyone would know it'd be him. Especially given he seemed unfazed by the notion of her competing right now.

Max turned from all the excitement to look at Harry, leaning back as well. ”What?”

”Andy, how is she here right now and in the contest?”

”Oh. Time Travel!”

As if that was somehow a satisfactory answer to it all. Harry rolled his eyes and motioned for Max to come over and explain more. So, he did. A chilling BAMF later, he appeared behind Harry and Val, leaning forward.

”Sorry things have been a bit busy with both Chaperoning and still needing to grade schoolwork on top of having to deal with and learn Quantum Physics for a very unrelated reason but yeah, long story short apparently Andy had jumped forward in time with Zari to be together in the year Zari was from but within Andy's universe? I don't its all a bit complicated and a moot point given that shortly after seeing them both Zari dipped out and made her way back to her own timeline? Multiverse? Thing? Leaving Andy here but it's ok i guess? Honestly its been a lot and only just happened or well I've only just found out so hadn't really had the chance to tell you guys the news.”
