Stop being passive aggressive. Just be aggressive.

It is certainly not 'optimal', but it *is* doable, depending on what you want to do with it. You could go swords or valor bard and play them more like a warrior with some magical ability

@HeySeuss Is plenty possible yes.
We have no rookie, that's a little unfortunate. Anyway, I'll be closing off acceptance to further interest by the end of today. Please post your interest or PM me before the end of the day-

Anyone who has posted already, ie Naril and a few others, feel free to take your time, but try to get something going soonish
I'd prefer that android be more of a companion character than a full character/pilot, but if you believe you can make it its own character, I'll take a look at it and see what I think.

Uh... I'd prefer them not be an android- what kind of personality were you planning on giving the android? Straight military programming/doctrines? Existential question-my-purpose-in-the-universe AI?
@Adalrod Synthetics? Probably not, advanced droids? Possibly- typically for use as combat support, heavy lifters etc. Cybernetics and robotic prosthesis is the typical limit of advancement in the whole robotics world. Definitely not synthetics in the Stellaris sense though.

This RP isn't a first come first served deal, so I'll be taking choosing 4-5 pilots around thursday/friday. If you wish to apply go ahead and write something up and I'll try to get timely feedback.

@FrostedCaramel Excellent, Travers looks great.
@GrimmReconz First off, welcome to the guild, I am honored to have your first post be a character application on one of my RPs.

Quick note, while Asher is definitely allowed to work on his ship, he's not completely by himself when it comes to ship maintenance- There is a small army of engineering crew regularly performing work on the different strike craft aboard, and at least one or two that consistently maintain his specific fighter on a regular basis. That being said, the pilots don't technically have a personal fighter (though you/everyone is welcome to have a fighter with their callsign and kill tally/decals on it because RP reasons)- while they specialize, they are expected to know how to fly any and all craft within the hangar of the Galatia. Asher may be asked to fly a Dirk on one mission and a Redeemer the next.

Overall, I'd consider this application a good first impression.
@Kessir Tarkin After reading over your character, I can re-affirm that I am not too sure about the idea of having a Varaxian as a part of the squadron. At the risk of sounding racist, I don't really want aliens to be a notable portion of the squadron- Elijah himself is one of, if not the only Harridan on the ship. There will be opportunities to interact with more Harridans and Varaxians throughout the course of the RP, but I'm not sure I want anyone playing one of these aliens. Also the idea of Varaxians being indoctrinated is an interesting take on their culture, but without getting too much into the politics of the Varaxian Empire, they essentially began waging war against the humans to unite themselves.

Going into the meta knowledge of the universe: The Varaxian Heirarchy is similar to a cross between the feudal system and a clan system. The Empire itself is made up of a collection of these feudal clans, with the largest and most powerful clan commanding the most respect and their leader being the Emperor. Infighting and competition is fairly common between the clans, and typically leads to relatively rapid changes in rulers. The current ruler of the Varaxian Empire has been the ruler for much longer than usual, and is currently using the war against the humans to give the clans something to unite against- and thus extend the length of his rule. That and the whole warfare for resources and the strong over the weak shtick is what they live for- Varaxians are carbon-based just like us, and many of the worlds that Humanity has colonized would be ideal grounds for future Varaxian worlds.

Anyway, Varaxians aren't indoctrinated into believing that they are fighting a defensive war. They are also aware of the concept of compassion- they are a warrior race, not tribal barbarians. The Varaxians are a cultural mish-mash of Turians from Mass Effect, Sangheili from Halo, and Kilrathi from the original Wing Commander series.
@FrostedCaramel looks good, though there are a couple discrepancies. The Varaxians have been around for about 5-6 years yes, but they haven't been seen in force until the declaration of war 3 years ago. So for Travers to sink so many ships in her first handful of skirmishes is unlikely- perhaps after the start of the war, but not before.

Before the war, humans really only saw a few Varaxian Corvettes, Frigates and frigate sized light carriers. Larger and more powerful warships such as destroyers and cruisers weren't seen until the attack on Tau Sigma.

And in general, capital ships in both fleets are relatively rare. Most battlegroups in the TSN fleet are headed by cruisers- with the exception of destroyers, most Naval vessels have at least a small compliment of strike craft, as TSN doctrine revolves heavily around the use of strike craft.

And unlike some Terran fighters, virtually all Varaxian fighters are jump capable, so their carriers are typically well behind their front lines and their battleships are typically attached to fleets large enough to sound a retreat in most TSN battlegroups
