Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

Now I don't really want to dwell on the bath scene too long. A few posts there, then I'll be gearing into timeskip mode to the next day. ^^;
"... Ah?"

As the maids (thankfully) retreated without too much further embarrassment, another new recruit seemed to have appeared. Fanilly, well, to put it simply, had little to no idea of how to address new recruits by herself. Considering she'd already had something in mind to do, well... the most logical option continued to be what she said in her hasty bid to get away from the awkward situation moments prior. Proceed to the baths, talk to the new recruits in more depth there. She really, desperately wanted a bath anyway.

"Yes, I am Knight-Captain Fanilly Danbalion," she introduced herself, nodding her head, "I'm afraid this may be a little informal, As I was just proceeding to the baths. However, we can talk in more depth once we get there."

Speaking of which, moments later they had arrived. Fanilly was not necessarily an expert on other lands, but as far as she was aware there was a similar practice in distant Akitsushima. However, that was less out of necessity(they simply din't have enough room for every single bath they'd need to give everyone their own) as it was in Candaeln and more due to a cultural belief. Regardless of the reason, Fanilly became abundantly aware, as she stepped into the room, that she had never used a communal bath before. She had used private bathes before, and even bathed in front of a few of her maids(though that made her feel somewhat awkward as she got older as well), but that was... different.

Fanilly stood in the room designed to accomodate equipment and clothing for those who wished to bath, and stared, unmoving for several moments, towards the bath. The water was said to be blessed by Mayon, and as far as Fanilly knew it was blessed by her priestesses at least, a gift given during the Iron Roses' past as a religious order. This was signified by a few matters: It was a dark, crystalline blue, it was always clean no matter how dirty those who bathed in it were, and it kept its warm temperature even on the coldest day.

A few knights were already in the expansive bath. Fanilly was having trouble even taking a step towards it, or shedding her armor. Despite its elaborate design, one of the many bonuses of the armor that Fanilly wore as captain of the Iron Roses was that it was relatively easily removed by her own hand. As she stood there, the girl became more and more aware of how unclean she felt. Sweaty and hot from battle and travel.

Finally, she relented to her desires of cleanliness. She had said she'd speak to the two new knights here, as well.

A few moments later, Fanilly's armor was set aside. Its remarkably light weight was now fully apparent, she'd lifted it only with light effort to place it down. All her clothing was gathered and placed to the side, even as the small blonde blushed furiously in embarrassment, her hair now hanging loosely down to her waist. Beneath, she was pale, and almost had a fragile look to her. Certainly it wasn't entirely what one would expect from a captain of such a famed knight order.

She looked small, and harmless. Not like someone who had, not too long ago, fought and killed men and led the knights to the righteous destruction of those who would kill the innocent.

In a rather meek, silent fashion, the girl slid into the lightly-steaming waters and sat silent, attempting to work through her embarrassment and actually speak to her new knights.

She was captain. She had to. She couldn't let this get to her.
He has no personality, is in direct opposition to the main goal of the cast as a whole(who are noted to need to be able to work together), and does not have the means to fight the other characters. He'd die in the first few posts. I have to be honest here.

A maniacal serial killer is also a poor choice given the cast needs to be able to work together.

Finally, the premise of the RP is everyone working together(even if they don't like each other in a few cases), so having someone just dropping by for violence doesn't really work.
  • Name: Sakura Kyouko
  • Age: 14
  • Appearance: "I'll kill you if you waste food."
  • World of Origin: Puella Magi Madoka Magica(Post-Series, there is no third movie)
  • Powers/Equipment: Kyouko's body is stronger and more durable as a result of being a Puella Magi. On top of this, she can transform into her magical girl form, sporting a red outfit and a spear that can unlink itself to become almost-whip like, the segments connected by chains. The spear is highly extendable as well, and incredibly sharp. Kyouko is far more difficult to kill then a normal human, but if her Soul Gem is destroyed she will instantly die. Kyouko also possesses illusions and an enchanting ability that in action is basically being able to sweet-talk others into doing things for her, but she is as of now unwilling or incapable of using it. She sports an aggressive fighting style fueled by her equally aggressive personality.
    Kyouko carries her Soul Gem, which she uses to transform in a magical girl. In this form she carries a spear that can detach itself and become something like a chain whip, which she can wrap enemies in. The tip is extremely sharp. At any given time, she has a mass amount of snack food on her person.
  • Brief Backstory: A girl who suffered tragedy after becoming a magical girl, which formed her current worldview. Due to a chain of events, one that massively effected the world, she now has more company and likely a brighter future, even in her eventual death.
  • Personality: Kyouko is a rough, abrasive girl with a rather selfish attitude. She has no qualms about stealing food or other items, and feels that it's simple fact that she has to do whatever she can to get by. She's something of a tomboy, and her taste in fashion makes her come off looking rather like a delinquent(which is not an entirely inaccurate assumption given how she acts). She is also somewhat obsessed with food, carrying snacks on her person at nearly all times and frequently seen eating. And eating. And eating. Kyouko eats a lot. In spite of her selfish, abrasive attitude, Kyouko has a softer side that sometimes comes out. A girl who sometimes remembers she wanted to help people, a girl who likes stories that, no matter how bad things get, have a happy ending. As a result, even if she initially tends to treat them like idiots, Kyouko has a soft spot for people who want to help others, deep inside her. Due to certain events in her home universe, her softer side is now more likely to come out. However, this doesn't change the fact that she's often abrasive and rough towards others, and still quite selfish.
  • Other: Kyouko has discovered a way to be able to produce snack food at any moment. No matter what.
@bloonewb: There is, yes.
Once I get a reaction from Gillian and Teller I'll post again.
Ah, I was out and didn't get a chance to work on my bio. ^^; I'll post tomorrow.
@DFTBA: Okay, I'm not the GM here, but I've noticed there's some things that need to be said and these ARE the concerns of another player that should be addressed.

Not everyone is aware of Moody's capabilities. It's been a long enough time that I don't remember too well what he could actually do myself. List his spells in more detail, please. I'm sure the GM will thank you for it.

@WrongEndoftheRainbow: One of your characters has no personality to speak of, the other two are generically insane. These are bad ideas.
Once the bath sequence is finished, depending on what happens, we'll probably be timeskipping to just before the knights head to the ball.

Fanilly's going to have taken along every PC for obvious OOC reasons and a few IC ones, and a couple NPC's most likely.
