Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

Natsuki Sumiko, Starblazer

"You seemed pretty lonely, so I decided to come and talk to you!" said Sumiko, brightly. It did seem like the quiet purple-haired girl was pretty isolated. Sumiko hoped she wasn't coming on too strong, but she couldn't help but be enthusiastic when it came to making new friends. At least, she hoped this would end with her making a new friend. She gave the smaller girl a wide grin. She was so cute! Her eyes swiftly caught the book that the girl was reading.

"What's that book you're reading?" the exuberant girl asked, peering at it curiously. Sumiko figured that the best idea to try and get the shy-seeming girl to open up was to try and talk with her about things she liked, and that book looked like a good place to start with. It only made sense to start there, didn't it? Of course it did!

"It looks pretty interesting!" Sumiko added, cheerfully. She'd already made friends with that guy, and now her next friend might be this super cute girl! If she was lucky, at least.

In the end, there was little more to be found at the shrines. There were, after further investigating, signs of footprints in the soft soil... one set of which ended at the skeleton. But right now there was no real indication of what had happened here. Fanilly couldn't help but be disturbed. A necromantic spell performed so close to a shrine to Mayon? And to what end? Regardless, she eventually made the decision to take the skeleton with them, back to Aimlenn. It looked as though all the flesh had been pulled off of it... but that couldn't be the case, could it?

Could it?

No matter how much searching was done, there was no way to discern where the shard had been taken. It was dark by the time Fanilly finally relented, realizing there was no way that they could discover where it had been taken like this. She desperately wanted to keep trying, but there was no way to pick up a trail in the dark. In fact, there was no trail to pick up at all. Even though a few prints remained at the shrine, there was little to no sign of anything else.

The skeleton was loaded onto a cart to be returned to Aimlenn. The trek back was largely uneventful. Nothing in particular, beyond complaints from Veileena Cal about how the situation had turned out.

Fanilly felt like she had failed. They hadn't recovered the shard, they hadn't even found any signs of where it had gone. Their only lead was a skeleton, and the fact that some remnants of Phoran Cal's rebellion were involved. That was all that they had.

When they reached Aimlenn, the skeleton was prepared for investigation and further research into the Nercomancy. Veileena Cal was escorted to her mansion, much to her consternation. The church immediately dispatched two priests and several paladins to construct a divine barrier around the shrines to prevent further heretical intrusions into their grounds. Doubtlessly the news they returned with would cause quite a stir.

The doors of Candaeln opened, and Fanilly lead the rest of the Roses into the entrance hall.

She couldn't shake the feeling that they had failed.
Anyone, really. ^^; But I did just get a PM about someone who might want it so wait before you respond.

Sumiko's shoulders sagged a little. Well... the girl wouldn't apologize first, at least! But it looked like the guy might! And if he apologized, Futeki might apologize too! Especially if he explained about misunderstanding. To Sumiko, it seemed like things might still work out even if Futeki had declared she wouldn't apologize. Her words had been backed up by a teacher, too, so hopefully things would sink in and everything would be totally fine! It would have been nice for the resolution to come more quickly, but at least Sumiko felt like things were looking up and there wouldn't be any more fighting for now.

... Ah, she'd lost track of that guy she'd been talking to... She'd have to catch up with him later! Sumiko nodded firmly to herself. For the moment, she wanted to try talking to other people.

So the natural option was to walk up to the first person she saw and say hi. This turned out to be the cute purple-haired shy-looking girl from before.

"Hi!"

Clarabelle Halloway, the Ethereal Dollmaker

"..."

Making friends with real people...? Why would she do that when she has her dolls? Clarabelle remained largely silent. After the man offered up his office, she looked away quietly. If that was how things went, it was how things went. but it wasn't anything she particularly wanted. Her real desire was simply to be away from all of these meaningless people, to be among the only friends she could have. That was what she valued. That was what she desired. She could have them prepare tea for her. She didn't need someone else to do it. She didn't want someone else to do it.

"..."

And so, Clarabelle didn't respond, her sunhat shadowing her eyes.

I mean I guess I could do that, it's just that the amount of people who posted since I last did is so small I'd have to do that for most of the cast.
No-one who really needs to post for me to continue has posted or even looked at the thread for a while I can't continue with the posts we currently have. : (
I think I might still wait for a few more people for a few days since we've all congregated in the same restaurant. Or... maybe not, we'll see how things go. ^^; I might just post tomorrow.
I'll be getting a post up tomorrow.
It looks like this might have petered out. : (
