Update; Okay, after a brief deliberation period with my lovely Co-GM, LoCo, I've been in the state of mind by the means of closing this roleplay. I feel like we wouldn't have enough members for the teams or even have one team out if we continue this but then again, I am totally open to everyone's and anyone's suggestions here.

I feel strongly about closing this but then want to see what the rest of you think before I've decided to do so. :)

So, do you genuinely feel this way or is it because you're trying to personify people's insecurities? Anyway, the most fundamental explanation is: supersoldiers do supersoldier stuff. The world it itself is based on various Final Fantasy installments, not to mention Square Enix's animated movie of the same name, 'The Spirits Within'. I'd recommend that you watch Let's Plays of Final Fantasy 13 (XIII) and Final Fantasy 7 (VII). This roleplay has a lot of influences from the latter, FF7.

Other than that, you'd have to be more specific about the things you can't grasp. If this is the case for everyone, and the reason why people have left the roleplay and new ones haven't joined, it's quite a serious problem. I'd have to re-write everything.

No, I'm just trying something new with my character-playing abilities. I've noticed most of my characters fall under two archetypes - hot-headed, douchebags, or unpredictable goofballs. I looked around for some good characters that might push my limits, but, to be honest, I was too obsessed with Twenty One Pilots' album to not do Blurryface. I'm still unsure of who exactly he is, but from what I've seen on the internet, and from what I've inferred from the album, he is basically the evil-esque personification of insecurities. If you want, you can google "who is blurryface" and quite a lot will come up. It might help to explain things. (One quote that could really get you in the feel would be: "Who is Blurryface and why does he want me dead?". I do think the whole point of the Blurryface album is to inspire people to rise up and defeat their insecurities, though.)

Anyway, thanks for the help. I do actually own FF10, but the gameplay isn't quite for me so I'm still getting used to it. I do understand it a lot better now, though, and I'll probably go do some research on Final Fantasy so I can get just that bit more to grips. My character might take a while, as I'm currently in the one-week holiday off school, meaning my mind's gonna be occupied with studying and random things. Hopefully I'll be able to pull my finger out this time, though, and get a little faith in myself. Though, it does make a lot more sense now that I know it's inspired by Final Fantasy. I think the main problem for me is when I think it's a completely original world someone's made, with no ties or inspiration from anything, I panic. Therefore, my mind panics, and I struggle to grasp the concept, because I'm scared I won't understand. It's kind of a "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" moment. Thanks again, though, you've really helped.

@Wade Wilson - So, you're saying that the entire concept of the world is difficult to grasp, or are there specific elements you're unfamiliar with? It appears to be the former but I'd love to be sure before we attempt to "Crash Course" the structure of the story and all therein.

I can't put much, since my brain is failing yet again, but to sum it up, it's basically everything but the setting. My brain likes settings, and that's about it. I honestly wish I could help you by explaining it in more detail, but I feel like I've gone braindead. I'm not even kidding; I just deleted a paragraph on why bacon is the best food, and not broccoli. I hope this at least helps a little bit, and sorry if I'm being a giant pain right now.

What to do, what to do, what to do?

First of all, the reason I'm talking in this medium (and the reason for the strange part above) is that I've set myself a challenge. This challenge is to try my utmost best to be the character "Blurryface" depicted in Twenty One Pilots' latest album of the same name. This may last for a week, maybe two, but the whole point of it is to push my boundaries, and see what I can do in terms of playing a character who is, essentially, the personification of peoples' insecurities.

Anyway, enough about that. The biggest question for me is this - do I devote myself to this rolelay? I had previously intended to join before, I believe, but ended up dropping it due to illness and, quite frankly, a lack of faith in myself. There is a problem I had back then that I am facing now, and it's this - my brain is struggling to take in all of the information. I absolutely love the vast world you've managed to create, Prisk, but my tiny little brain just cannot absorb this, at all. I'm really disappointed by this, as I cannot express enough how glad I would be if I were apart of this roleplay.

If there's any way I can get some help on getting to grips with the world and/or creating a character, then please, let me know. It's honestly surprised me that this roleplay is still holding strong, and I think it's about time to get off my ass and start doing things that scare me.
