BLOODMARKED

The government says people like you don't exist.

Officially, you're a statistical anomaly.

Unofficially, they're coming.

Thousands of years ago, gods walked openly among mortals.

They loved, fought, ruled, and left descendants behind. Over countless generations, divine bloodlines weakened, faded, and scattered across the world. Most descendants never discover what they are. Some inherit strange talents. A rare few awaken gifts capable of bending reality itself. The modern world calls them Manifested, Bloodmarked, Scions, or Divinespawn.

The government calls them a threat.

The Ascension Incident

Thirty years ago, everything changed.

A young descendant of a god lost control of their abilities in a major city. Thousands died. Entire city blocks vanished without explanation. For the first time in recorded history, humanity learned an ancient truth:

The gods were real. And so were their children.

Fear spread faster than the news itself. Governments around the world established programs to identify, monitor, and contain individuals carrying divine blood. Many citizens supported the measures.

After all... If someone could summon storms because their great-grandmother was a sea goddess, shouldn't they be monitored?

I think I am going to start the OOC. This way character sheets can be started. :)
@Silly At least he is basically the only one who followed consent. lol.
@Silly Yes! And it is open to other pantheons. Think of it similarly to kingdoms. For example, the Japanese pantheon is one ‘kingdom’ and Greek is the other (except Roman, because they basically stole from the Greeks, lol).
@tadcfnaf@Theyra Thank you for the interest! Probably search for about two or three more. :)

The Inciting Event

Thirty years ago, an event known as The Ascension Incident occurred. A young descendant of a god lost control of their abilities in a major city. Thousands died. Entire city blocks vanished. For the first time in millenniums the public learned that demigods were real. Fear spread rapidly. Governments worldwide established agencies to identify, register, monitor, and eventually imprison those carrying divine blood. Many people supported the measures.

After all...if someone could summon storms because their great-grandmother was a sea goddess, shouldn't they be monitored?

The Government- The Directorate of Divine Affairs (DDA)

(An organization similar to the Sentinels from X-Men)

Public Purpose:
Registration
Protection
Research
Public Safety

Actual Purpose:
Surveillance
Containment
Weaponization

The DDA maintains:
Bloodline databases
Divine DNA registries
Specialized hunters
Anti-mythic prisons
Some agents genuinely believe they're protecting humanity.
Others enjoy the power.

Types of Characters

Full Demigods
One divine parent.
Very rare.

Extremely powerful.

Example:

Daughter of Athena who can enter battle calculations like a supercomputer.
Son of Poseidon capable of manipulating water pressure.

Legacy Descendants
Divine ancestry several generations removed.
Most common.
Weaker abilities.

Example:

Descendant of Hermes with unnatural speed.
Descendant of Hecate who can perceive magic.

Dormant Bloodlines
No obvious powers.
Often unaware they possess divine ancestry.
Can suddenly awaken during extreme stress.

The Hidden Sanctuary

(Like Camp Half-Blood meets Xavier's School.)

Elysium Academy
Officially:
A boarding school for gifted youth.

Reality:
A sanctuary for divine descendants.

Located within magical wards invisible to modern technology.

The academy teaches:

Combat
Mythology
Divine history
Power control
Survival
Most importantly: How to avoid government detection.

Had this idea in my head for a while and I was finally able to flesh it out a bit. Just curious if others are interested.

Writing requirements are:
- Decent English grammar
- 3+ paragraphs that are 5-7 sentences long
- You the player must be 18 or older. This is not a sweet, PG role-play. There will be blood, gore, possible torture and trauma. Romance between characters is possible but is not necessary. If it develops to such RPers will fade to black in the IC, anything spicy is required to go to PMs.
Bump, but heads up, these characters will be involved in actual plot development.

Amarysah Snowden

'The morning sun seems lazy today,' Amarysah pondered as she stood outside the tattered tent. Her icy gaze took in the horizon. Watching the hues of the sky fade from ink to indigo with the rising sun. She sighed softly, wondering how they were going to get into Somerset. The Imperial Army clearly blocked anyone from leaving, a sign of trying to contain a plague. She was surprised the town hadn't been set ablaze if that was the case. So, why leave the possibility that Duskrot could escape?

Amarysah walked back under the tent, her boots barely making a sound against the grass and ground. She was going to do some more scouting. Perhaps there was a way in she hadn't noticed before when she arrived last night. Mari put her leather armor over her casual clothes, tightening her bracers and lacing her boots with ease. She then weaved her silvery tresses into a braid before twisting it up into a bun, securing it with a bronze hairpin from her pack. One could never take too many precautions when investigating Duskrot. Those infected would grab at anything for a chance at fresh flesh.

Mari was as quiet as she possibly could be, hoping not to wake up the others. She made her way out of the tent area and began to walk around the wall of Somerset. Even the side entrances for farmers had been barricaded. She sighed as she tugged on the gate. It practically confirmed this place was riddled with Duskrot. But then again, why didn't the Imperial Army lay waste to everything in Somerset's reach? Amarysah didn't like thinking about it too long. Such things got people into unnecessary trouble. As she was nearing the backside of Somerset's wall, Amarysah noticed a window in a guard tower. A window that would be a squeeze for Cormag, but he should fit nonetheless.

When Mari returned to the tent, she could see that both people and animals alike were stirring up for the day. "I have found a way into Somerset. That is, if you all are interested in searching the town. After careful searching, side entrances to the town are also blocked from the outside, similar to the front gate," she explained as she went over to her pack. She needed to make sure that her supplies were equipped to breach the walls of a plague-stricken town.
Hi! It’s been a while since I’ve been in the 1x1 scene. But this idea has been on my mind again. Message me if interested!
