Jenna didn't mind the kids but too many people in the kitchen caused problems in her experience.

"I think I better work on the cake but I think it would be a great idea if you guys wanted to make some cupcakes tomorrow. The kitchen will be back to normal by then, I hope you would like to do that. Kat? Could you take the kids and show them around? I'll catch up to you later and we can talk more then."

Jenna turned back to Chris. "So what to do with the potatoes? Any suggestions?" She started to get a hot flash as if a fever was coming on. Most likely it was from all of the stress. "Excuse me for a moment?"

Jenna wasn't at her best and she stepped into the back for a moment and opened the door to let some air in. She went outside and sat on the wall to try and calm herself. Too many people around right after an attack was just too much for her.

Jenna was genuinely happy for Kat and Matt and it made her feel a lot better to see Gracie. Jenna put down the food she was working on and took her from Kat gently. She cuddled her and loved on her and she seemed to center Jenna back to normal as much as she could be anyway. She handed the baby a plastic spatula to play with and she immediately stuck it in her mouth and everyone chuckled.

"Haru? I think I'm not going to cover up my bruises so much. They will heal and so will I but thank s for the offer." she said with a smile. Jenna looked at the new kids and she waved them over. "You must be new too. I've never seen you before." She looked over at Chris and asked "Are you guys related or come in together?"

Nikki chatted for a few minutes then she went into the nurse's office taking inventory of the medicine's. She had gotten a lot of things from the Apothecary that she had worked at one summer. Medicines for everything from day to day stuff to anxiety and depression, blood pressure meds, and even some vitamin C and B12. She was glad that they had not gotten to the nurse's office although she had decided to move that office to a regular classroom. Being on the perimeter had nearly gotten the small room destroyed. Besides, they will likely at some point have more than one or two wounded again. She wrote down that they needed more first aid bandages. They were stocked up pretty good on the basics like peroxide and rubbing alcohol. Nikki looked at the calendar and sighed. Today was her birthday. She turned 20 but she felt 45.

Matt helped the guys with the fencing and then he went into the kitchen and found Jenna and that new guy cooking. He hurried over and said

"Jenna, today is Nikki's birthday. Can you make a cake? Do we have everything you need?"

Jenna smiled "Yeah, I think I do. Anything in particular that she really likes?"

"She loves chocolate and if you don't have that she loves strawberries and even carrot cake."

"Okay, I'll get on that."

Matt put his finger over his mouth. "Shh...keep it secret."

Nodding and chuckling Jenna turned to get to work on the cake.

Matt had put the ring on her finger and Kat had accepted with tears in her eyes and when she said she wasn't good enough he said "Of course you are good enough. I love you and I wouldn't love you if you didn't deserve it, besides, I have great taste." He had grinned at her and he pulled her behind the divider and onto the other bed in the room.

Matt had gone to check on the wall and on the progress on the fencing repairs. By the time he got into the cafeteria he was surprised to see Kat and Grace down so quickly. He noticed she was still wearing the ring. That made him smile. He went up behind her and kissed her and Grace. Grace giggled and wiggled til Kat let him take her.

Nikki ran in for a sandwich and said to the guys working on the fencing that there were a lot of walkers heading this way for some reason and she needed them out to help defend and repair. A large group of them took off sandwiches in hand. She saw Matt and he was even happier than normal. Nikki went over to them kissed little Grace on the forehead and then she glanced at Kat and Jenna and she saw the ring. Her face lit up. "Matt you finally asked her!" She hugged Kat and Jenna noticed the ring also and she started gushing at how happy she was for her and what a great couple they are.

Jenna told Kat "Thanks but I'll be okay. If something changes and I need to talk I know right where you are. Don't worry and Congratulations."

Matt kissed Kat and grabbed his sandwich and tickled the baby. "I gotta run. I will find you in a bit. Love you!" He said as he went through the door.

12:15pm Day 11

Jenna looked at Haru kind of oddly. She was unaware of anything that could be done about bruises. "Haru, Kat has a lot more bruises and they are much worse than mine." She remembered passing by Kat's room upstairs and seeing something. She blushed a little "You should wait til she comes out of her room. I think she was getting ready to go to bed." She asked him "What can be done about bruises? I don't think I've heard of anything that helps but time and ice in the beginning."

Jenna wasn't sure exactly how it happened but between Chris and Haru she had a captive audience. She was having a really weird day. She was dealing with her rape that happened just yesterday and this morning she killed the man who did it and here she is cooking like it was any other day. Jenna wondered what Dr. Phil would have said about that. She also wondered what Jon was doing. She was surprised he hadn't been in to see her yet.

Shiver heard Cal and she walked out of the pool and into his arms. Tears streaming down her face she let his arms wrap the towel around her and they went back to her room. She handed him a menu and asked him to order dinner for them. She then went into her bathroom, stripped down and walked into her shower. The warm water helped to ease the stress of the day. The pain in her heart from talking to Pixie's mother was overwhelming. She wasn't sure if she could handle funeral without Cal. "Cal? Would you join me?"

The funeral was set for the next day in the afternoon. Shiver lightly banged her head on the shower wall hoping that pain would distract her from the one in her heart and mind. She would make sure that the entire staff was there. Even Sigma and Jessica would be there if she had to chain them to her mother they would be there.

Classroom for an ordinary class near a public bathroom for both guys and girls. Nikki wants people upstairs who are women and kids or people with a family so there are some that can fight up there as well but they are kept out of the main battles and have time to prepare. Jenna and Kat both have walkie talkie's at all times. So does Matt and Nikki.

Shiver and Cal were still kissing in the hallway when Henry came to get Shiver. "Shiver? Sigma is requesting your attention." Shiver dropped her head onto Cal's chest in frustration. "Henry, please tell her that I still have to make arrangements for my team member's funeral and contact her family. If she would like to tell her family why she decided to stay behind on an ALL call then I would be more than happy to let her make that phone call. Until then she needs to shut the hell up! I'll get to her when I get to her."

Shiver sighed and kissed Cal on the lips softly and headed towards the office to call Pixie's family and make the arrangements. The stress was wearing on Shiver. "If Omega doesn't get back soon...ah..fuck it." After finding the number she dialed Pixie's mom and delivered the most devastating news. When Shiver got off of the phone she was so upset and crying she dove into the pool for a few minutes. She had Enyo to thank for the funeral home coming out to her instead of making her go to them in town to make the arrangements.
