@FlaggSounds good.
I'll either join as a Separatist (either human or somewhat alien) or as Martian Invaders for fun.
@Senor Herp
I just read this.
My Martian idea would be mostly similar with lots of old sci-fi concepts returning.
Hopefully you don't mind if you aren't exactly alone with that.
@SigmaSpeaking of orbital defenses, I figure these would be the only true exception on the "no orbital strikes" rule. Otherwise how the starships are supposed to defend themselves if the local batteries rain them from the surface?
Planetary shields and such which doesn't explicitly prevent ground operations or dropships sending down troops are not included. Also causing more destruction than what's absolutel neccessary to destroy threatening orbital defenses is also frowned up at best and strongly sanctioned at worst.
Of course worlds that does not support life are a different matter. For example so long you avoid hitting the residential areas of civilians it's perfectly reasonable to bombard a moon or asteroid base with all that you bear (baring sorts of destroying the planet ofc).

What do you think? Would my thoughts above be in line with what you imagined for this RP?
We obviously need an interstellar laws of war to avoid things boiling down to one side bombing the other to oblivion. We want ground conflicts and so on.
@Goldeagle1221This game sounds fairly interesting but I wonder how you'll treat some of the "gameplayish" elements here.
Most of all how the "doubles armies" boon would be implemented? Sure it's magic so no question about the mechanics are asked.
What is more important that it creates sentient people out of nothing. Does it mean there's a slight population of ex-soldiers in countries with literally no childhood? (as they came into existence as battle ready soldiers on the field thanks to a boon)
Will the housing and social life of these people be problematic? Can they even adopt to peaceful life?
Alternativel reality is altered and these people retroactively receive a full ancestral family tree, social connections and everything so they can be all-natural people of your nation? This is of course another convoluted mess.

Or perhaps I am overthinking this and the extra soldiers are just people summoned by magic who'll disappear after the battle?
Either way it's good if we could know a bit more about this. I am all in for writing the social effect of these extra troops as a boon mixed with a curse but it's up to you as a GM to decide how this magic even works.
@ClocktowerEchos
You aren't alone with gigantic land vehicles. White Corps has a limited use of them, too.

This is the Mark IX BOLO
Its name is an abbreviation on the term "Be On Lookout" which roughly translates as its role of protector. The body of the vehicle is 50m long and it's practically a starship on land. It doesn't need several functions which you can find on starships so it's very compact for its power. The main cannon for example is obviously designed for orbital defense. (though thanks to crafty engineering, law-mongering and lobbying of the interstellar committee this main gun is neither considered orbital weapon nor weapon of mass destruction)
@Willy Vereb
I'm not a big fan of it.
Outside the fact it is a rather out there idea which doesn't fit to well, it again advances your nation even further, with at least basic knowledge of space travel and whatever else the Martians might know.
It's less of Mothership Zeta and of course more of War of the Worlds. Think of my steampunk RP faction with a bit less zeerusty tech. If anything I see them inferior to my Enclave in power. Basically they are stuck on Earth.

...on a different note.
I am actually giving the Martians a thought. How would it be if Martians secretly took over a part of the population and now they lord over them while slowly preparing for further conquest? Too weird?
I feel that style-wise they would be slightly similar to my current Enclave idea. Hi-tech minority expanding and governing various populations of wastelanders.
@SigmaNo prob.The fact others weren't so active in the past days means it went on without your attendance.
So long there are enough people and you're also up for it that's all good.

@SkepicHow would Avalia think about White Corps?
You're apparently fine with humans so as long they don't send alien employees or representatives aside from humans, avalians and perhaps those who look like them it wouldn't be a problem IMO.
Tech-wise they don't need to flaunt it and offer you products which you want rather than shaking you up with tech your civilization may be completely alien with. White Corps can be subtle if desired and has self-control.
Still they can be a worthy business partner without a doubt. Just ask what you want.
Merry Christmas to all my fellow RPer's!

And Merry Squidmas to all my fellow cephalopods!
Merry Squidmas!
Now you tempt me to switch my faction for martian invaders instead.
All hail our cephaloid overlords!

We have no snow

This is an outrage
Damned climate change!!!

... Neither did we.

Is this still open?
Technically this game can have nigh infinite players. Just make a profile and if it isn't bad I bet @Sigma would approve.

<Snipped quote by Frengo>

Exactly, that and I know that Willy won't do that, he's been in all of the reboots of Age of Rebirth and overall that isn't his play style.
I have my militias partially as an excuse that not everything will be about the Enclave's ubertech even in combat.
They'll be often just the "high men" the majority of the population barely interacts with. (Granted, I'll also make post from their perspective.)
Powers are a narrative tool in an NRP. Terrible powers must be used with terrible care.
Special mention to the ICBMs. They can be an interesting tool when such response fits the story's flow but otherwise threatening farmers with shotguns by a nuke is bad sport at best and a gamebreaker at worst. Which is why I have an excuse to never use them unless pushed.
