As the sun rises from the eastern horizon, an ever growing light which is both warm and welcoming, begins to reach across the land. It doesn't take long before this radiance finds itself to the prickly, weatherworn and scrggy walls of the frointer settlement known as Palisade Town. This little town, surrounded by a wall of sharpened wood, is home to some ten thousand or so souls, of various races - though primarily humans. Along the outer wall that encircles the settlement, there is also a man-dug ditch, which acts as a sort of moat and extra bit of defense against both the wild life and any creatures of the wild that would dare to stray too close to civilization.

The town has two major entrances, the weastern and eastern gatehouses respectively. Each one is little more than a pair of towers, with a large doorway and internal ramparts for look-outs and archers. To get into the town, one must cross the small wooden bridges built over the ditch, leadign in through the gatehouses' openings. The large iron-clad wooden gates can be closed from the inside, should the need ever arise, but unless it's the dead of night, these doors remain open at almost all times. Farmers and peasants who work in the fields, both far and near, travel in and out through the gates on a daily basis, as do travellers and caravans from afar. The town does not see large crowds or hordes of visitors though, and the general feel of the place is rural and sleepy.

The further one is from the town center, the more one can notice the difference in development. The outer-most parts of the town have little more than trampled dirt roads, whereas the mid-tier areas have had cobblestone roads laid. Close to the very center of the town however, are laid-brick roads - not too dissimilar to the ones in larger cities, even and easy to walk on. The same distinction can be noted on the buildings, with smaller and more rustic structures on the outer edges of the town, and progressively larger and more impressive buildings popping up the closer and closer you get to the heart of the town.

On one of these cobblestone roads, stands a fairly sizeable, three storey building in the western part of town. It's walls are made of sturdy planks and the roof is tiled and solid. Windows are larger at the bottom and get smaller for each floor above. The door has a decorative archway and a small sign hangs next to it. A sign with a reads; Adventurers Guild.

While the streets and roads are still quiet this early in the morning, noise and voices are coming from inside the old guildhall. Adventurers of varying race, background and experience have already gather, either to eat breakfast, to banter or simply to wait for the day's quests to be posted. Some are rowdy and loud, some are careful and quiet while others still are something inbetween. Faint, low candles are lit on the many tables, both occupied and vacant, as well as those shining from the numerous chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling. It gives the inside of the building a warm, home-y feeling, and the voices, laughter and occassional insult adds to the vibrancy.

But for now... Some place else, a ways away from all this, still on the western road a bit outside of Palisade Town, there was young woman walking alone. In one hand she carried an old and worn-looking polearm, while wearing a set of leather armor that seemed to have had bits and pieces of metals lashed and tied to it in places. She was a very pretty young thing, and those that looked close could see she sported slightly pointed ears. She had a happy expression on her face as she walked, quietly humming a tune to herself. This girl was headed for Palisade Town, to begin her career as an adventurer, and today would be both the day she both took on and set out for her very first quest. The thought excited her and the youth had to shake her head a bit to calm down and keep herself from bursting into a jog.

As she crested a small hill, she could now see the town in full view. Her eyes lit up like those of a child. True, it wasn't much to look at when compared to the city she came from, but this small settlement with it's framework houses and scruffy-looking wall was the beginning of her new life, the starting point for her journey. A trek that had taken far too many days was now almost over, and before her lay the proverbial oyster of possibilites.

"I can't wait." She said to herself, now positively beaming - before setting off at a much brisker pace now, heading for the western gate.
Now waiting on Ayame, Dahlia and Leela before I post again. No rush though, we still got slightly over half a week left. ^^
@The Irish Tree: Steppe Archer looks good to me, so consider her accepted! Just go on and post her in the Character Tab and I'll fix everything with links and stuffs and things.

@Shard:

"Join Status: Full"

"The people who will be participating in this roleplay have been invited prior to the creation of this thread, if you have not received such an invite, you are not eligible to join at this moment.

Thank you for reading this disclaimer."

Both things, very top of the thread.

Snarkiness aside, the major reason for why things are as they are is because this roleplay was made for people who can post often and don't want to spend a full week or two waiting on the next person to post. It's a roleplay for people who don't have overly busy shecules and/or very limited free time. We will be trying to keep a pace of a post every 1-3 days, some exceptions of course.

If you think you can handle daily posting, staying active and refraim from "I am so busy because X" or "Something suddenly came up and I'm swamped with Y until Z now!" -excuses, I'd be alright with letting you write up a sheet and see how it turns out.

However, I cannot guarantee a spot in this roleplay even then. The two other players will have to agree to bring you on-board.

And even if they agree and we bring you along, if you fail to keep up the pace, you'll be ejected from the RP like an old, unwanted VCR-tape.

But if you're cool with all that, sure. Just wait for the other two to respond and write up your sheet. ^^

Synopsis:
Palisade Town is a relatively small town on the frontier-outskirts of the nation. It's named after the wooden palisade that surrounds and keeps the settlement safe from the dangers and monsters outside. Thankfully, nothing too threatening dwells in the immediate vicinity of the town, so it's a perfect location for new, untested adventurers to come and begin their careers - and this is where you come in.

Be it that you graduated from an academy, completed your training at a temple, left your rural village, finished your studies with your master or just happened tos tumble into town, your days as a fresh-faced and budding rookie adventurer are about to begin! The time has come to sign up at the Guild, take on quests, grow strong and forge your very own, enduring legend! ... Or die pathetically in the very first week, whichever comes first.

Weapons, armor, magic, treasure, adventure, dungeons and monsters all await you! ... And goblins. Lots and lots of goblins. Like, seriously, scores upon scores of the little blighters.

Rules & Regulations:

Please follow these rules, to ensure everyone is having a good time!

1. No Meta-Gaming. If you know something your character doesn't, then they don't know it.
2. No Character-Controlling. Don't take control or make another prson's character do something - let them act or react on their own. Be patient.
3. No Power-Gaming. You are not invulnerable, unhittable, inexhaustable or otherwise impervious. If you get hurt, you bleed and feel pain. If you get hungry, you want food. If you get poisoned, you will grow weaker and weaker and possibly die. There are no Kryptonians here.
4. No Prior-Knowing. You are not Goblin Slayer. You are not Spearman or Witch. You are a fresh, new, inexeprienced adventurer who has not gone on any (or at least not many) quests yet. You don't know the best way to defeat monsters, nor have you learned the best stratgeies or tactics. Those will come with time, not be present at the start.
5. Be Civil. Discussing, arguing and disagreeing is fine, just be sure to not start outright insulting or bashing each other. Be constructive and resonable towards each other.
6. Have fun! We're all in this to enjoy ourselves. If something is irking you or you're not feeling the desire to keep going, speak up! We'll try to work something out.
7. If your character dies, you may rejoin as a new character of the same (or lower) Adventuring Rank as the character who perished. But you may not join as a higher-ranked character.

It's alright. Sometimes random rael life stuff comes up and we can't do anything about it. As long as you inform me, or anyone else in the RP, about it, there's nothing to worry about.

Hmm, I suppose I could couple that idea with the one already suggested. They're very similar after all.
Sorry, couldn't keep it in. I really, really wanted to post this. xD

But at least you've got something to do now, Vertigo. Enjoy. :3
Meanwhile, on the east main street of Orario:

There was an awkward silence all of a sudden. Many heads were turned and looking at the source of the stream of insults that had just left the lips of a young Renard, standing alone and pointing in the direction of the two arguing groups.

Slowly, but steadily, any nearby pedestrian began to shuffle and slink away from the young fox-girl's immediate vicinity, discreetly for sure, but doing it nontheless. The reason? Well, both groups of angered and upset hot-heads were now focusing their fiery, dagger-peering eyes at the young woman with the big mouth.

For what seemed like a miniature eternity, nothing happaened. Nothing at all.

But then it did happen. Something.

"The heck you say?" One of the larger more hulking brutes exclaimed with a voice that sounded like his vocal cords had been brushed with a cheesegrater.
"Who the hell are you, bitch!?" One of the other group's members cried out, a butch-looking woman with a nose-piercing.
"WHo cares!? This brat needs some attitude-adjustment!" Another called out.

And then, as if some divine power had interfered and unified their hearts and souls into a single, glorious and hive-minded higher entity, the two previously bickering sides had joined together in perfect harmony... Only to let out a sudden, combined, unanimous roar:

"GET HER!"

At this point, any on-lookers were clinging to the walls of nearby houses with their backs, staring on in a mix of amusement, horror or disbelief as six armed, dangerous-looking individuals now raced towards a single, seemingly unarmed young girl who had said far too much It would only take a few seconds, unless the girl turned and started running herself, before the pack of enraged boars would be upon her and deliver swift, merciless Orario justice to the outsider...
What does everyone else think? This a good idea?

I'm pretty sure its the people who're smelly, not necessarily the stalls... xD
