The sudden onslaught of bullets was unexpected, and to say Rosalie was caught off guard was a major understatement. Her armor did the best it could trying to keep the bullets from penetrating through, but in the end, it could only do so much. Her head gear, one which was equipped with a protective double layer for additional security, had stopped the bullets dead in their tracks, with a number of them sticking halfway out of her visor. But the same couldn't be said for her body below the neck. Two bullets had fully penetrated the armor, hitting her upper right arm. Another one hit her chest, opposite her heart. Rosalie also had another wound below the center of her chest, and the last bullet had lodged right below her neck, barely missing an artery.
The pain was so intense, she almost felt numb. Rosalie had fallen on her back from the impact alone, and her shallow breathing was the only sign she was alive. Regret immediately began to eat away at her, and with whatever ounce of energy she had left, she attempted to aim her weapon at her opponent to pull the trigger one last time.
The morning air was harsh and relentless, a bitter reminder for Carlotta that her body could seldom handle cold weather for extended periods of time. Even though she’d been in and out of very similar climate for the past ten years, it certainly didn’t get easier for her. She had lived in Canada, sure, but that's not where she had spent most of her life.
The woman worked in silence alongside her team. She moved swiftly yet carefully, as the smallest mistake would surely end in not only her death, but in the death of the rest of her teammates. When the time came, she repelled down the cliff with ease, having done the same thing countless of times before. Nevertheless, her pulse increased just the slightest, and the adrenaline that coursed through her body kept her on high alert. But she preferred that to complacency.
Once they had made it inside and were given the order by Sara, Carlotta moved behind David, ready to cover him in the event that something went wrong. But she simply watched as he took down the guard, her expression indifferent as the trooper was killed. Better him than her, that's for sure.
"Give me a second," she replied to David once he dumped the corpse. She knelt down next to the dead guard and conducted a quick search for anything of use. A second later, she located what felt like an ID. She pulled it out and pocketed the card without so much as looking it over. Maybe it could be of use to gain access later on, and it surely didn't hurt to have it, although right now they were on a bit of a time restraint. She tapped David twice on the shoulder as she subconsciously tightened the grip on her M9. "Ready when you are."
I am the ghostly girl with curly hair. This was 13 years ago, the senior class picture in the gym. My best friend until this day next to me is sporting the classic resting bitch face just like me. But we were pretty sweet back then though...lol
PERSONALITY PROFILE For lack of better words, Carlotta is somewhat the bossy type. She takes charge whenever it is needed of her and at times, she may overstep her boundaries. Within her profession, she is mostly all work and little play. However, that doesn't mean she's a stiff all the time. She knows when to let loose and have a great time. Her sense of humor tends to be sarcastic and slightly tasteless whenever she starts drinking, but she advises whoever's in her company that it's all fun and games. Carlotta has left some people in somewhat of a shock when they witness her personality transformation between work and free time.
Whenever she has a bit of time to herself, Carlotta tends to become emerged in a book. She enjoys the silence and making the stories her own as they play out in her mind. Either that, or she's solving puzzles, listening to music, or possibly trying to learn a new language. She prefers trying different things versus fully dedicating herself to a single hobby. With that said, Carlotta has her limits. She is not a smoker, and she certainly doesn't do drugs...not the hard type anyway. She sticks to drinking and despite it being one of her downfalls, she sometimes doesn't know when to stop.
The events leading up to the present time have put Carlotta on edge over the years. She's a bit more jumpy than she used to be, and she finds herself lashing out at her teammates whenever she's going through a sudden high level of stress. Additionally, she's had a harder time trying to trust people. Carlotta doesn't have so much a problem with her teammates as she does with strangers. In turn, she's grown a bit cold-hearted and harsh, although the occasional heart-to-heart between herself and anyone willing to listen grounds her back to reality.
BACKGROUND PROFILE Carlotta's background is all over the place. She was born in Israel to a single Italian mother. Her father left before she was born, never to be seen or heard from again. Despite the lack of a perfect family, Carlotta had a relatively happy childhood. When she was 4, her mother met a Canadian man, Jim Kolt, while on holiday. Their love for one another was instantaneous, and it wasn't long before Carlotta and her mother moved to Canada permanently to start a new family with the addition of Carlotta's unborn baby brother, Henry.
Carlotta's step-father's profession involved working for the military as a civilian. When she was 12, the family relocated to Israel, much to Carlotta's surprise. It was a bittersweet moment for her, but any hardships she thought she would face were practically non-existent. Carlotta picked up right where she left off in school back in Canada, a task not all that challenging considering she'd never attended school in Israel before. She excelled in her studies, and upon graduation, Carlotta was shipped off to the Israel Defense Forces to join the intelligence field. Her main passion, computers, served her role well as she performed combat support duty from behind the safety of a screen. She was adequately self-taught but the training she went through, and eventually her higher education made her even more skillful, her capabilities ranging from simply identifying an individual to major network infiltration. Carlotta also became extremely interested in the art of Krav Maga, eventually becoming an assistant instructor within her unit simply due to her dedication and passion. Her superiors had high hopes for her as she poured herself into her job as well as university courses, which would eventually help her to rise through the ranks and become a junior officer after a few years. Needless to say, Carlotta one day decided to leave the service, the decision happening suddenly and without warning. She talked to her supervisor as the time to reenlist approached. He didn't like what she had to say, and he even attempted to convince her otherwise, but she wouldn't budge.
Since she had time to burn before her time was up, Carlotta decided to go to Canada for some time. She was en route when she received a message from her command, one she could check thanks to the onboard wi-fi. That message changed her life. Both her mother and brother were confirmed dead, and her step-father was unaccounted for during an attack still under investigation. She had tears rolling down her cheek as soon thereafter, the pilot delivered the rather dark news to the crew and the passengers. They would have to make an emergency landing in New York, and Carlotta was surprised to find a senior officer from the IDF waiting for her at the gate. It wasn't long before Carlotta found out she was going to be assigned to XCOM, a move that would permanently change her life.
