Mahz showing up for a short while and disappearing, while distressing, is also almost objectively hilarious. Can't wait til he comes back in... *checks watch* 18 years.

Anyone else feel like they've lost IQ points steadily since their teenage years? No? Just me? Cool.

<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

Your enemy being on the track is totally different though!

It is, yes. But that's a small change in the scheme of things. And it's less so an "enemy" as it is someone who happened to do something bad to you shortly before. If you don't approach things with a calm mind, you'll have a different response due to it. If someone hurt you but you forgave them, and then they were on the tracks, would that change your decision?
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

What would cause it just for a little bit?

Well, pretend that you were just attacked by someone and you got hurt. Then, they end up being on the track shortly thereafter. A lot f people would let that influence their decision, even if they then regret it or change their mind after.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

What could cause that?

Pretty much anything, really.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

Even something that big?

Mhm. People from all sorts of species can change in massive ways, even if only for a moment.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

But it’s too important for that, I think.

You'd be surprised how much people can change based on minuscule things.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

Your peak. Max dad.

<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

What's different about your mindset?

I see. Anyway, the difference is basically the same as a mood, and heavily influenced by it.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

What made you change your mind?

<Snipped quote by Techspert>

He didn’t say he changed his mind. He said that’s what max dad would have done.

Heh. I think it's more my mindset at the time. I'd also say it probably depends on who is tied, and where. But... "max dad?"
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

What about you? What would you do?

I don't actually know, at this point. I tend to vary from moment to moment. I know that when I was at my "peak," so to say, I was definitely of the "pull it" camp, though.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

That one... just feels obvious, right? Of course you pull it, only one person dies that way.

<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

<Snipped quote by Legend>

I don't know... I don't think I could bring myself to pull it. To take someone's life like that.

And that, is exactly why it's called a "problem" in philosophy. Not a super good "puzzle," per say, but it works well to get people thinking.
<Snipped quote by Yatagarasu>

Mmm, come up with some sort of puzzle for us to solve first.

Hmm... There's a classic one that's pretty good, though maybe not the kind you're thinking of. If there's a train going on a track, and there's five people tied to it, but you can change the course so that it turns to another track that only has one person tied to it, do you let it happen because you're not responsible for what is already happening, or do you change it and directly cause someone's death?
