I'd like to point out how absolutely insane it is to have pirates in space. Now that I've done that, I'd like to say that Terrans will so totally be buying alien ships to become pirates. Why alien ships? Mainly because Terran civvie ships are taxed to hell and back, have outdated weapons, and no FTL or shields.
I got the Legion Collective up in the Character bin if you wouldn't mind briefly taking a look, specifically at the "other" section as that's really the only place with new stuff.
SERIOUS ANNOUNCEMENT
So we have decided to edit the rules from our previous serious announcement in response to the discussion and feedback we received from players. Synth and I thank you all for your feedback as it is valued greatly. Crossed out rules are not being implemented at the moment but, if these do not suffice, be utilized at the very least, in an experimental manner to test whether or not they effectively amend the issues that may or may not arise in the future. Now without further ado, the edits:
  • There will be a 14 day(2 week) time limit on collabs based in the present time IC and singleplayer posts, also based in present time IC. Which resets every time a post is produced in the IC, which also applies to collab contributors, whether they play NPCs or PCs.
  • Players must warn the GMs, as well as fellow collaborators, if they will be unable to contribute to both collabs and singleplayer posts for more than the allocated time limit for whatever reason, in order to prevent hanging up other players so that they may continue. Doing so will make the collab or singleplayer post a viable canon flashback, that can be posted when the player returns, or at a later date should the player or players wish to do so. PLEASE DO THIS IN ANY WAY YOU CAN IF YOU HAVE NO ACCESS TO A PC, OTHERWISE THE RULE BELOW WILL APPLY.
  • Players who do not warn us, or have a post ready before the 14 day time limit is expired, will have a 3 day grace period (3 extra days) to post their collab, or singleplayer post. If no post is produced in the IC within that time, they will recieve an Infraction.
  • A player may receive a maximum of 3 Infractions. After 2 Infraction, the offending player will lose the right to a 3 day grace period. On the 3rd Infraction, the player is kicked. Holding up other players from posting will not be tolerated.
  • If a collab is being held up by the offending player (who obtained an infraction or has been kicked for 3 infractions), the GMs will ask if the collaborators are willing to take over the offending/kicked player's character, if not, the GMs will.
  • Every Player has the right to one representative to vouch for them should something occur to them and they themselves cannot get to a computer, but can notify someone else.
  • Please send the GMs the links to the collabs that are taking place in present time. This will help the GMs keep track of the progress of the collabs, as well as who is taking part, and who is slowing everyone else down. Future based collabs, flashbacks and singleplayer posts may be kept private from the GMs.
  • The GMs are NOT under exception of these rules. They must follow said rules to the letter, failure to do so will result in the removal of their position.
Zume Tatasuko
With the opening of the Tessen Zume noted the release of the man's chakra into his surroundings where it appeared to blend with surrounding earth and dust for the most part. It was an aptly named technique and as it was executed it created more of the dust and wind, attempting to blow away the mist that surrounded him. However it was dense, though it did not obscure vision very much, and while some of it initially blew backwards and away from him, it quickly gathered once more, forming back into a cloud around him as it had been before. When they blades reached it had already gathered once more and aligned along the path of the blades, solidifying as it did so. When they blades hit they met edges equal in length and size to their own and propelled just as much by the negative polarity that had been imparted them by Zume. "I have much experience upon the battleground," he stated cryptically. The man's chakra scattered around him, interspersed lightly with his mist, and some upon the ground surrounding him unless further manipulated by the man to do otherwise. Zume figured that the technique could be utilized as a direct attack, but was far more effective as a preparation for further assault. With this in mind he swept his left arm to his side, the mist thickening into a fog on that side of his body as he did so, then motioned in another sweeping motion towards his opponent causing the fog to thin into a mist once more. As it thinned it extended to the side then curved in an arc and attempted to strike towards the man from his right side. All the while Zume's eyes remained closed, though he could understand his surroundings just fine. What the striking mist would do upon nearing the man depended on his actions.

Warrior, a word he had heard many times, but not so many said it with the conviction that this man did. Intriguing. Then his killing intent soared, briefly putting his senses on edge before he took a breath, calming himself to serenity once more. There was not a flinch or out of place movement as he watched his opponent's eyes analyze his every move. The Shade smiled, "Amusing," and his hand was met by its twin to preform several handseals in rapid succession. He did not state the name of his technique, but a dark mist began to spread from his form, drifting around him, but not spreading further than 4 feet in every vector. This man was a strange one, for he was a warrior who cared not for names or titles, only for battle. Perhaps this made him a truer warrior than many others he'd faced, but that did not make him any less strange. Eyes serious, Zume sighed lightly before closing them entirely and beginning to walk towards his opponent as well, noting his weapon once more as he did so. It seemed that there were no words that he could utter to dissuade the man from initiating combat, so he would instead be forced to use action. "If that is your wish, then come, nameless warrior," he continued to approach, muscles relaxed, but ready for anything at a moment's notice. He hoped not to be disappointed, though it hardly mattered in the end.

Listening, the shade tilted his head and raised an eyebrow slightly, finding himself mildly intrigued by the man's proposition. However, he did not enjoy killing, though if his strike killed the man it would be the end of his encounter. On the other hand, doing so was rather boring and risky as he'd then be fairly close to the man as a strike that would easily be fatal was one that he'd rather deliver at close range, not that such was a requirement. He took several steps towards the man, with not a shred of killing intent in him. "Why?" He asked simply, his eyes seeming to search the man's for an answer. "You seem to have come a long way, and while you are right, I would much prefer offering you a fair chance." He smiled slightly, "Both in combat and in life, after all you seem the worthy sort." His smile faded and he raised his hand before him, palm faced up as he began to mold chakra within himself, "But if you insist I can certainly deliver," his eyes briefly darkened, before lightening as he searched the man's face for a reply. "Regardless, I would know your name prior, so that at least a grave my be laid. All men deserve that much."
Zume Tatasuko
Sitting quietly near amidst the gently swaying branches of a copse, the shade's eyes were closed, his breathing level and calm, and his mind open. He had thought to rest awhile, but considering the presence of the stranger he doubted that would last terribly long. Continuing his mental excercise, Zume expanded his awareness in all directions, sensing the movement of birds, frogs, squirrels, and even insects all in perfect harmony as they moved to survive and more importantly, thrive. His perception focused then, rapidly shifting to different areas of interest, then through different layers of perception. After a few minutes he felt that the man was close enough to hear him, and so his eyes still closed, he spoke. "Greetings stranger," he said, his smooth voice emanating through the air. "What brings you to this valley? The beauty, are you simply passing through, or perhaps your intentions are less...peaceful," a knowing smile came over his face as his eyes opened to gaze upon the man, their color hazel for the moment. He rose. Once on his feet the shade stared at the man silently, awaiting his response. Hopefully he was wrong. He was tired of challengers.
I'll get a post written up later. Yoshua, that'd be fine. I figure there would be massive super tankers or such that would come through. Also, if its unknown, you'd get a rapid response forces attention but they aren't the shoot first types I mean, they could be potential allies later. Diplomacy for the win. Friends = profit.
That sounds interesting, should be neat to see how much time it takes Legion to shift gears and utilize the same language as your merchant nation. Should be fun to see how both sides react to one another, plus it's almost for sure they'll send those response forces since Legion vessels are very likely like nothing they've seen before.
Yoshua, you still need to post your app here so Key, Dark, or me can accept it.
I did post it in the character bin you realize, which is perfectly accessible. If that is not enough I can post it here as well. I also had Keyguy look it over and accept it prior to posting it, I just had to add a few bits in the "other" section of the NS.
Didnt see the character bin, apologies.
No problem. Hope I didn't come off the wrong way, I can get quite blunt sometimes ^^;

In what matter shall the contact occur good sirs(?)? Do you want Legion to have their first contact with a random ship of yours, or would you prefer one of their ships comes out of the Quantum tunnel it's currently in (that's primarily how their ships travel till they reach their intended destination) due to detecting resources, or noticing excessive "activity" that they deem worthy of investigation. - - - - -
Make contact with me! The trader state isn't one to send emissaries out. Can't afford to peel away their defense force to do that kind of stuff. But their massively open area enables alot of options. They don't really have a set border but rather a recognized region. They'd likely see military ships and privateer often (the latter of which they sometimes employ.) so a couple ships wouldn't result in a red alert situation. Send a fleet however... Anyway, come one come all. Oh! With how open they are, I'm sure they have met your nations or members of them before so no need for that whole first contact flashing lights and symbols crap. Unless that's what you want.
Hmm, so how would they feel about a massive capital ship suddenly emerging into their region of space? Hopefully that wouldn't be deemed a threat since the thing will be "alone" and unarmed when it exits presuming nothing attacks it.
Yoshua, wrong end, join in when ever you're comfortable.
No worries, just waiting for the go ahead, though I'm almost certain I'm already accepted since I've only added the Spires or the like, which are well within Legion's ability to produce.
That's likely very accurate MP (hopefully you don't mind me calling you that ahaha...) as Legion doesn't really need to have their ships, at least initially, specialize in any single area. So yeah, all-purpose navy sounds good. I'm going to go with somewhere between medium and large in size since the Collective is prepared for conflict, but would rather stay out of one if at all possible. I appreciate the input :)
