Don't forget that the environment does take a toll slowly upon your actions.

I've hardly forgotten, but thank you.
Alternative Methods

His blade's temperature rising to 500 degrees, his leg armor's heat rising aswell, even as more air pressurized around Raelis, unaffected by Khazna's blades due to the process being facilitated by the technological portions of his armor, the avian's eyes narrowed, though his smile only grew. As such, he instituted change in a different manner, sapping heat from one area and drawing it to another. Immediately a powerful gust of wind erupted from near his form, as created by the change in heat and pressure. The magic he had used was not close enough to the general to be in reach of his blade and the action happened in an instant. Following it up he let his wings partially unfurl and slam air down and backwards, though the pressurized air they were storing was not released. This caused him to push forwards, his feet still just barely touching the ground.

His nanites continued to replicate, drawing resources from the go at his feet most prominently to do so making it thin out and eventually disappear around him. More of his wing armor became magnetically charged beyond its normal degree as he approached Khazna his blade at the ready.

It was truly a magnificent feeling to face an adversary such as this.

Raelis' actions could still change given the circumstances.

Kōkina, Shūrei - Yūyami Miko

In response to the woman's words, Shūrei's frown deepened and she took a stance, positioning her staff further in front of her as she did so. Taking in a deep breath she opened her mind to the voices of the hitodama around her and to the emotions of the world. An intense look of focus entered her eyes and then her opponent struck.

In a single swift motion she took a step forwards and whirled her staff, eliciting a response from the glowing spirits around her. Immediately a vortex of hardened, glowing wind erupted forwards, the spirits spiraling around the stream of water and flying through it in terms, tearing it apart. The veritable beam of energies continued towards Umichi even as its master struck her staff against the ground and sent glowing red streams of energy coursing into it, the glow around her fading slightly as she did so. " Despite the wishes of the gods, I'm afraid I simply cannot let you do that," she responded, her tone both tense despite the calming sound of her voice.

Spirits coalesced around her staff, channeling into it, a mixture of fire and wind now.

She'd not be letting the woman hurt a single soul under her protection, not so long as she lived.

Kk, thanks. I'll reply tomorrow. I'm exhausted from my shift at work.
So he's not effected by darkness?

Since you seem to have said no to that. I'm just making sure is all.
Welp, posted. Despite having been called in for work today and having a 9 hour shift tomorrow.

God do I hate working for other people....

Then, before the man could reply one of the sisters turned to him causing the penin to raise a brow at her forceful words. When the innkeeper responded he gave him a sidelong glance and nodded, before the Deo'iel cut in ferally. I'on's eyes narrowed and he glanced back at her as her magical energies expanded, an air of violence briefly suffusing the atmosphere. He couldn't help his fingertips grazing his staff, despite it being on his back. He made an effort to draw his hand away from it, reaching into his coin purse and retrieving two rodlin for the innkeep when he returned--despite the man stating it would be on the house.

In that moment, as he retrieved the rodlins, he had decided that he didn't like that they'd be in an enclosed, private place with these two. The thought made him somewhat uneasy, even as the more human of the sister calmed her sibling. He turned away from them as the innkeep returned, spilling a tiny amount of the Finest as he did so. The penin almost kept his coin, but instead decided to speak as he slid the two rodlin across the bar, "Nonsense. You run a business. I'm the customer, not these two," he said pointedly, barely stopping himself from adding, '...and they'd do well to remember it,' to his statement. Instead he left the rodlin on the counter and snatched the drink up, taking a long swig wherein he finished at least 1/3rd of the drink.

The penin then walked right past the sisters, making a point not to look at them. When they were soundly behind them he gave Ixion a look, weaving sigils with his free hand at an angle the Deo'iel couldn't see. The assassin would feel an impression of caution as the mage finished and passed him. As he did so, stopping at the exit from the inn's dining hall, he turned back, gesturing in the direction they'd been heading, "Well? Come on then. Don't have all day."

He still felt the Finest's sting in his throat and mouth, but he liked it. The drink's sharpness took a bit of the edge off of his current situation, not to mention the fact that it made his exhaustion swiftly recede. Still, he'd keep to being careful till they were done with these two and well out of the tavern.

Funny how he'd returned to have a nice rest, but had instead ended up embroiled in no less than three conflicts since his arrival, perhaps four if this situation got out of hand. Five if he counted the close call with the guards.

This was getting ridiculous.
Oops, I forgot to add the mention. I'll edit it in.

"Hmm, unfortunate," he said in reply before he glanced at Valak a moment, a thought springing to mind. "How did you and Ferrin come to travel alongside one another?" he queried. The two seemed rather...mismatched, but then again perhaps he was entirely wrong on that account, he had misunderstood people before, though it was almost less common than him being lucky, which was saying something.

At the end of the day it probably didn't matter, but then again it might be useful in understanding both of them better if he came to know how they had met and how Valak had put up with the impulsive troublemaker up until now. Then again, it was entirely possible that they had met only recently, their goals aligning.

Hard to say really. As such, he stopped trying to figure it out and hoped that the not so talkative Valak would explain.
