So is he just spinning on his heel so he faces her?

Also, I understand that he sort of whirled the staff behind him as he spun, but you didn't specify its position. Is it mostly horizontal, or slightly angled so it attempts to strike her wakizashi's blade away before she completes the stabbing motion? What is the staff's final position at the end of your post presuming the block works?
Timore Scarborough
Engagement

Instead the energetic manifestation returned to its user and as it did Timore smiled, bracing himself at which point he hopped back onto the connecting point of the branches, where they formed a 'V' shape one either side of him. He phyiscally watched the place the eagle flew, tracking it through its energies as well. His smiled broadened as it, and its caster, came towards him in sync. However he wasn't able to entirely note the woman's subtle shift of hand and arm till she was much nearer and it was at this point that the invisible threads of essence around him came into action.

Timore grinned as he shifted the energies to his sides, above, near his feet, and behind him, leaving very few of the strands before his form, though some remained. As the woman lunged at him he raised his hand, Metentis in it, and allowed her to strike it. It was comical because as her weapon made contact she'd realize that Metentis was not only composed of a metal-like substance, but that its durability was not something easily bypassed. However, he didn't just let her strike Metentis, no instead as the knife made contact the formerly straight status of the serpent, suddenly coiled around the weapon's blade, the energy channeled around and through it adhering to the blade at the same time that it made contact with its surface. She wouldn't be able to pull away unless she let go of the weapon.

Then as he figured she'd do, the eagle attempted a second attack, one that he had easily predicted since a two pronged assault was often better than its counterpart.

The joy infused threads struck out at the bird, while others physically manifested as an orangish glow behind Timore, forming a shield. The threads that struck attempted to make contact with the illumin's form and if they did they'd latch onto it, infusing themselves into its form. This wouldn't do much to the eagle, at least not yet, but it might be useful later.

With Metentis' action of curling around her knife being automated by the serpent, this freed Timore up for a third action. As his ring was in hand he moved his foot backwards, shortening the invisible wire of essence that connected it to his blade, thus allowing his blade to fly at her from behind while also strengthening his stance on the tree.
Dornae Namari - The Luckless Enchanter
Theme I/|\Theme II/|\Theme III

Eyes staring, but at nothing in particular, as if through anything within their gaze, Dornae absorbed the information provided him as he stood there, listening. It seemed that he was not the only one who thought Mithera to be someone in need of assistance or protection. This was made clear by the Guildmaster's worry. However, more interesting was the mention of Mithera's not having been in a human form for over a century. How was she still alive? Perhaps it was a question for later or perhaps he would never know. It all depending on his choices....

The discussion seemed to evolve further as the newcomer, who was apparently also a member of Phoenix Wing, joined in, voicing his willingness to assist the girl. Dornae rubbed his chin absently as Mithera briefly mentioned owing them. He didn't make a move to speak despite her words. In fact, he remained silent until Ferrin's demonstration and then Jamie's words about not wanting them to assist the dragon girl. His eyes rose, their gaze locking onto the man. "My association with them is loose at best," he said, his tone hard, he had decided that hanging around Ferrin, at the very least, was a bad idea in and of itself. He made no effort to soften the blow or look at either of them as he continued, "In fact, I came upon a member of Iron Enigma, if the energy signatures are anything to go by, and he had no idea I was part of the assault. Then again, I served a fairly minor role really. Ferrin put himself out there far more and if he's not careful is going to draw the attention of all the wrong crowds. However..." he started, glancing at Mithera and Lucas, "I have a rather broad skillset and due to my rather bad luck in previous instances, I've had to pry myself out of many situations and hide in plain sight plenty. I know how to stay under the radar, both through behavior and through magic. I also feel like staying in this city for a few more days would be foolish, despite my minor involvement."

His expression was a serious one and he'd made sure to stand apart from Ferrin and Valak, to further give the impression of separation from them. They were trouble, the both of them, though in very different manners, and he'd had quite enough of their brand of trouble. "Although going with her does contradict the whole reason I came here in the first place," he noted aloud, "...as I'd intended to find a Guild while I was here. I've been working solo for far too long and the stable income from missions would be helpful as well." He gave Jamie a small smile, and in a joking tone added, "Any room in Phoenix Wing perhaps?"

No, that was entirely me forgetting that I'on didn't know. So I can easily edit the name out. It wasn't intentional.

Kanagata, Himawari

His hand brushed aside, Himawari's grin didn't even begin to vanish, and it seemed that Akira's response didn't change it either. “You know,” he began, then realized he was being ignored, at which point he channeled the tiniest amount of static energy into his fingertips and poked Akira hard, sending a static discharge through his entire body. That wasn't the worst part either, every time they made contact it would shock Akira again. Exerting too much energy would cause it too due to stress. So the mere act of getting irritated at him would literally punish Akira.

It was too bad it would only last 2 minutes. “They don't grade for practical skills. They don't grade for kenjutsu or ingenuity either. It's all theory, so I did well enough to pass because my skills lie elsewhere.” His smirk would remain and he kept himself within arms reach of Akira, despite knowing that his teammate could do some horrible things given his abilities. He didn't seem worried for some reason. “By the way, I can code the shocks to happen at specific instances if I want to. Maybe I could set it up so every time you try to insult someone, you get shocked. Or maybe link the effect to my magnetic field so I can just do it manually so long as enough static energy remains.” His grin widened, showing off his teeth as his little prank became more elaborate.

He noticed the jounin teacher in the room turn an eye to them briefly, then shift their stance so they couldn't see any of it. Himawari's smile would have grown if it hadn't already been so large. Then he noticed Masshiro's expressions, which didn't make him feel too great about what he was doing. Still, if he could be instrumental in tempering back his teammate's arrogance, it would serve for the betterment of the team. Perhaps he could talk to Masshiro later when Akira wasn't around. Perhaps they could make it part of their mission as a team to help Akira get rid of some of his bad habits.

It helped that the process would be amusing as all hell. Well...at least Himawari thought it would be.
