Damian waved at Kaitlyn as she left, returning to his training with his twin cutlasses for another five minutes. After that, he came to a rest and spun the weapons in his hands before sheathing them and setting the weapons aside. When the five minute warning went out at about the same time, he pulled out the viewing lacrima he'd brought with him and set it where he could easily see it when he turned it on. He then sat, and waited, listening to the wind blow through the park around him, rustling the leaves in the trees. "This is nice..." He hadn't just sat and meditated like this in some time, certainly for a while before joining Phoenix Wing. He listened to the names called and wished Penny luck silently as he sat.

After several minutes, he stood and went over to his bag, pulling out an old pair of large maps and laying them out. They were maps of the border of Fiore and the neighboring countries, with x's marking all the locations that had been the location of a battle to prevent invading armies or scout parties from crossing over. Several of them were the ruins of destroyed outposts. With a sigh, he set to digging through a pile of documents he had with him as well to find the matching papers for each x, to review the events. War is coming. Best to be prepared...

Phillips grabbed Jericho and pulled him away from the writhing worms. He was holding a device similar to what Fresno had thrown once already, but he didn't toss it yet, the pair forking out to the right from the group. Jericho, in the meantime, was trying to figure out what the hell was going on and why Galbadia had issues with being a NORMAL dictatorship and putting their top secret prison for political prisoners in a jungle surrounded by quicksand or something like that. "Hey Duncan, when we get back to the Garden, remind me to recommend this place for destruction by missile strike!" Reaching a rock outcrop, Phillips and Jericho hopped up on it, not moving as they watched the sand worms moving around the rocks like sharks. He wanted to try and shoot the bloody things, but even he knew it was pointless.

Still, he pulled his beam rifle and fired a series of shots towards the Zaku's, taking one out and destroying the ax of another. Moving Duel towards Yzak, he pushes the suit onto it's back and levels his blade with the cockpit. "I think we can both agree one of us was going to die, Yzak. Course, you were confident it was going to be my corpse on this battlefield. Guess Karma's a bitch." Thrusting quickly, the saber would have impaled Yzak's gut, making sure he would die, but giving him time to respond if he so choose.
