Current Sometimes you spend so long looking for peace in someone else, you loose sight of that peace you can give yourself. Don't forget that guys.

So many writing ideas, so little time to write. Being an adult sucks...

I'll have a post once again up to this weekend.

Just out of curiosity, when will the current events get wrapped and the action begins? Not that I'm getting impatient, just really curious since I have been here for over half a year and we barely progressed a couple IC days in this RL time frame.

I don't think a time is readily available. I guess however long we want it to go is when it ends? I mean, most of the squad could use the RnR XD

Rave "The Shadow" Mallard

Frixion Prime

"I have other ways of hiding if needed." There was a moment of silence as the pair waited for their second orders, but Rave could sense that whatever the music was that was playing, as most of the songs the Spectre knew were some kind of weird country or western songs, was beginning to set Akagalcia's blood on fire with it's beat. Eventually, she stood and looked towards the dance floor and he mentally gulped. Here came the magic question.

"Do you dance?" The hopeful look made Rave sigh almost audibly and he nodded as he started to stand, retrieving his helmet and attaching it to his waist. Blending in meant he couldn't ALWAYS be in his armor, as much as he'd preferred to, but he'd learned how to dance before joining Project Shadowblade.

"Sure I do. I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy doing it in my armor, but I'll give it a try."

Rave "The Shadow" Mallard

Frixion Prime

Rave didn't respond right away, his eyes still inspecting everything around him. Now that he thought about it, there was an eagerness about him that wasn't readily apparent without searching for it, but it wasn't enough to make anyone nervous or stand out extensively. "An opportunity. We're near the docks, and this is pretty much a place where all the information in the world comes through. A transport somewhere else or even a chance to shut down some ugly crimelord, I would take anything right now. Battle and war is all I know, so I like to keep myself sharp." After a moment, he stops and eats some more food.

Calling their server over, the Spectre orders more fries and another burger. Using his psionics always made him hungry for some reason, but usually it's not noticeable since it's usually on a mission or in the middle of a fight. "Guess it's also a force of habit from spending most of my adult life on the run from people who want me captured or dead."
Corporal James Hunt|Vacation with Strings

When Lily had asked James to wait outside the bank, he had certainly been confused, but she was already inside the door before he could ask why, so, with a sigh, he settled up against the wall by the door to wait. As he did so, he watched some kids across the street playing on the playground, a sight which brought a smile to his face. So much had been affected by the war despite the Army's best attempts to slow the Imperials down. And then there was that artillery they'd encountered after Vasel, which had seemed to turn Ragnaid, perhaps one of the greatest healing substances known to man, into a weapon that melted through tank armor like it was nothing.

It made the Corporal wonder what other new weapons the Imperials were willing to bring to the battlefield to invade a country that had done them no wrong before the war just to make sure they WON. The things James imagined were gruesome to say the least, and as a result of being caught up in his imaginings, he jumped when Lily came back and apologized. "Oh no, you're fine. Had plenty to think about while you were in there, so I wasn't bored. Where to first then?"

Rave nodded and ate a few more fries in silence. As he did so, he decided to do a visual inspection of the surrounding people and was unsurprised by what he saw. Bounty Hunters, blue collar workers, dock workers; all the usual people who one would expect to see at a bar like this. Still, the people who had all, at some point, left before the Spectre and Akagalcia had arrived and the circumstances made him curious. No one had, after all, been paying attention to any of the conversation between the hustler and the arms dealer, for example.

And then there was the hustle, which was it's own interesting subject. One patron had been listening to the whole thing and had laughed quietly to themselves when the cyborg woman had laid out prices and such for arranging for some kind of meeting with an important person on the planet. The amounts were absurd, but then it had been a lie to make as much money as possible. What had stuck out though was the cyborg woman's clothing. That required some investigation for sure, but at a later time. "So what did you think of what we missed? Some of it seemed connected."

Rave "The Shadow" Mallard

Frixion Prime

Rave didn't respond right away, instead mulling over what she'd said about where she will be from or basically was from and the connection to this planet. As he thought, one of Stetmann's crazy theories came to mind and Rave shook his head, initially dismissing it. Alternate dimensions and realities were insanely unlikely, and yet here was a person who didn't recognize any thing she'd seen so far and certainly didn't seem to belong to any of the discovered planets in the known universe. And the memories that I could see when she was making that spark... With a deep sigh, the Spectre decides that not saying anything was a worse thing to do.

"Perhaps this is this dimension's version of your home. You see, a colleague of mine back home has this theory that there are alternate dimensions and realities, some created based on our choices here, others that existed before we even and a dozen other reasons that I didn't listen overly closer to. My point is, maybe you are home, but not as YOU know it, but as it is now in the current dimension or reality you're talking to me in. Does that make sense?"
The strand of hair is there in case Rave wants to share thoughts again

He's not a fan of foreign minds in his own, which has a lot to do with being hunted most of his adult life up to this point. He's kinda move it away, for now.

As the sensations ended and the strange memories disappeared, Rave found it took a far greater amount of focus than normal to extricate that one stray thought out of his mind and put it back where it belonged, so to speak. When Akagalcia said it was the short version of everything, Rave didn't immediately reply. The memory had been about something called the Empty, but all he could think of it was it was comparable to what he'd thought the Void had looked like for years until he had joined Artanis, Jim, and Sarah Kerrigan in facing down Amon inside it. Or perhaps where he'd been was simply Amon's prison. Finally, however, after another couple sips of whiskey, he spoke.

"I'll admit that was...different, but it also didn't make much sense, at least to me, and at this point in time. I appreciate that you trusted me enough to share that though." As he spoke, he swirled the alcohol around in his cup, still thinking. "And that means this all was quite the culture shock for you."
@Zarkun
She would essentially be pulling him in and I'd be writing a mental mystery tour for him.

May I?

Feel free.
@Zarkun

Fair warning: if Rave responds inquisitively to Akagalcia's invitation this will become a much more significant scene. From the outside looking in, Rave will be able to see a much clearer picture of what Akagalcia is going through than she sees. It will be fun (probably?) to write, but I don't want to take any unearned liberties in the next several posts showing Rave what's in Akagalcia's head.

I think I handled it a little more how he would deal with it. Rave's a powerful psionic for sure, but that kind of mental probing is far from his specialty. I can have him dive in deeper if you would like.
