Current Attn teeny boppers: You realize adbots aren't ppl, yes? They randomly generate login info, then execute pre-programmed posts. Your rage-spam goes unheard by the machine. And is equally annoying.

If you're going by UK conventions of knighthood/nobility, yes. It also would be pronounced like the "dam" in "madame," rather than like a Dick Tracy "daym."

Me: "Goku, thank God you're here!" Goku: "I heard a really strong guy was here! Lemme at him!" Me: "He's right there!" *Points at my Writer's Block* Goku: "... Sorry bud you're on your own."

New Torrea
Tsubasa
This place was too good to be true. The bustling streets, the crowd of people; the pristine quarters of the nobility, the merchants loudly hawking wares and doing swift business in the trade districts, the knights in their shining armor marching here and yon on their showy patrols. New Torrea was a beacon upon a hill, thriving with business and life, happy and clean. Tsubasa wrinkled his nose beneath the white fur trim of his black hood. It was due for a crash any day now. The king had made this place prosperous, but now he was on his deathbed. The Prime Minister's new policies were expanding the kingdom, laying down foundations for enterprises that, in theory, would bring even more wealth and power to the land. But like herds of wild beasts, countries and peoples had a glass ceiling. At some point, the boundary would be crossed. Resources would dry up, a vacuum of power would bring bloodshed, the common people would suffer and the nobility would hide and pray while their magnificent mansions were stripped and looted and burned down around their ears. Perfect for business. The fluttering red paper caught Tsubasa's attention. He stopped to look it over. Hunting some sort of dangerous creature? Why would the knights be asking commoners to do that? And why with such a flashy flier? As he raised an eyebrow and leaned closer in curiosity, however, he caught the hidden text. He'd learned a little bit about codes and espionage in his line of work. After a few moments of thought, ignoring the occasional jostle of some city-goer against his shoulder, he thought he had it figured out. Donat. That was the name of the Prime Minister, wasn't it? He smirked. Looks like the diving spiral is starting already. Wordlessly touching the hilt of the sword hidden beneath his coat, the hooded man in black headed for the gates...

Earthland - Phoenix Wing Guild Hall Rutger Artz
"Yes. It does. If you had a conscience it would bother you, too." Rutger said stonily. Assassins...just murder, when it came down to it. He turned to Master Jamie. "Master, I don't think you should take up his offer. Working for free--that's obviously too suspicious. We can't trust him and he may be lying about being uninvolved." It occurred to him that it was a bit presumptuous to try giving advice to a guild master, but Rutger couldn't help having a bad feeling in his gut. All he had wanted was for someone to teach him how to control his magic, and to make a living until he could go back home. Now he felt like he was involved in something much bigger than himself, and he wrung his hands nervously as he looked back and forth between Vincent and Jamie.
I kinda gotta wait for everyone else to reply, since Abigael's currently um... Tied up. XD
If we don't hear from them soon, I'll just whisk the group back and Abigael will be freed.
Edited for Duthguy, posted for Diggerton and Ostarion. Hope the Fire Rat mission didn't drag out too much and wasn't disappointing, since you didn't have anyone to interact with. Whatever happened to the Cockatrice Hunting crew? I posted for them a while back and ended the mission, they're free to return any time.
Hayato
Hayato ordered a regular cheeseburger for himself, and picked an out of the way table to bring their orders too. As they ate, Hazel asked him who he had been so adamant about finding before. Pausing to swallow, Hayato leaned back in his chair with a sigh. "My brother, Rikuto. About four years ago, he was a senior S-rank here. He could have easily made SS or SSS if he'd wanted." Hayato looked down at his plate. "But he disappeared in Excaledvol. From what I heard, it was an exploration mission, something to do with ancient ruins." He turned his head, looking somberly out the window at the rays of the soon-to-be setting sun. "I was never able to find out much more. Some of that stuff is kept hush hush because they don't want people here on earth to panic at the prospect that there may be civilization over there." To imagine that there could be another intelligent lifeform, something beyond the Exbeasts, capable of putting the magic and resources of Excaledvol to as great and skillful a use as humans had used their own technology, was indeed a scary prospect in many ways. Hayato looked at his sword, leaning against the table. It was a plain katana, made from manufactured steel infused with magic here at the academy. Compared to a sword of yesteryears, it could cut through tank armor if the person using it had enough strength and skill. Rikuto had used one of their family's traditionally made swords. "I spent all of last year ignoring Special Assignments and classwork and focused on training and sparring. To be honest," he looked over at Hazel. "You're only the third person to ever beat me. I suppose part of it is that higher ranks have better things to do than sit around here..." He looked down at his clenched fists and forced his hands to relax. "But I still need to be stronger, to find Rikuto. Being out in Excaledvol for real made me realize that. So, thanks, Hazel. Since you beat me, I've got even more motivation to keep going." [Hayato Spent 10 AC!]
Fire Rat Extermination
Taeion's projectiles flew true, and the rats, though swift, had few options up there on the chains. Below them was a long drop into the sea with sheer concrete walls, and above them the large ship, still too far away to provide cover. The shuriken pierced one Fire Rat, carrying it off the chain and across the large room, landing with a clatter and death rattling squeal on one side of the concrete floor, just shy of falling into the drink. The other rat, struck hard by the rock, wasn't dead--but as it fell, flailing, into the water below, a great sizzle of steam went up. Afterwards, its corpse floated up to the surface--hitting the water from high up, combined with the impact from the rock, had probably broken its back or something equally fatal. With his mission complete, Taeion would be able to use the Sprite to warp back to school and take his long awaited rest.
Appearance:
Name: Tsubasa Akiyama (Western order, given name first.) Nicknames/Titles: The Red Death Age: 23 Skills:
  • Expert Swordsman - Having trained most of his life in the art of the sword, Tsubasa is quite adept with a blade. Drawback: Without a blade he's severely weakened.
  • Stealth - Becoming an assassin has taught Tsubasa the importance of stealth. He can't make himself disappear in shadows or ninja his way across buildings, but he's good at staying unnoticed and setting up ambushes. Drawback: Once noticed, he's hard to forget.
  • Agility - Tsubasa is significantly faster than the average person during activities such as running and leaping. Drawback: Brute power is lacking.
Magic: [Approved by GM] Sekiga, Tsubasa's sword, is more than a well made heirloom. In Nijiara, there are legends of famous swordsmiths and swords who were supernatural in ability, becoming more powerful the more enemies they slew, or so sharp they could cut a dragonfly that landed on their blade. Sekiga the Red Fang is one of these, bearing a special enchantment. Effect: When Sekiga cuts an opponent, it "drinks" their blood and stores it in a hollow inside the hilt. A normal wound will provide 1 "unit" of blood. This blood can be used for three different techniques. 10 units can be stored at a time. Uses: Blood Elixir - By drinking the blood in the hilt, Tsubasa can heal minor wounds and accelerate the healing of greater wounds. It requires 3 units of blood. 5 units will heal greater wounds. 7 units will heal all wounds. Bloody Reaver - A boiling wave of blood is released as a projection of a sword slash to travel roughly ten meters before it begins to fall apart. The target, if struck, is "slashed" as if with a hot blade. Requires 3 units. Blood Rot - The blood inside the hilt begins to rot and blacken. When using this technique, each cut of the sword on a target will poison them, building over time. One cut will slightly numb the struck limb. Two cuts will paralyze that limb. Three spreads numbness over that side of the body, four over the whole body, and so on and so forth. Each cut consumes 1 unit of blood, and while the technique is in use more blood cannot be drawn. Equipment:
  • Sekiga - This sword, its name meaning "Red Fang" is a well forged and well maintained steel katana that has been in Tsubasa's family for generations. It bears a dangerous enchantment.
  • Standard Traveling Gear - All that stuff required for world-wandering, like a pack and sleeping bag.
  • Extra Clothes - In his line of work, Tsubasa often makes use of disguises.
Personality: Cold, sarcastic, unnecessarily hostile, determined to the point of obsession. Seems somewhat tired all the time, with a haggard expression, but when focused or angry his eyes grow sharp and bright once more. Cares little about people and a great deal about money and status. However, in rare moments, there are hints of a great sorrow within, and it seems not all of his traits are genuine... Biography: Tsubasa's ancestors were famous sword masters, and from the age of six he was trained in the art of the blade by his father. Tsubasa's mother, however, was a foreigner to Nijiara, and he inherited her hair and eyes. This made him somewhat of an oddity among his neighbors, and he was treated as such. He experienced many hardships, and one in particular drove him away from the village where he grew up. To make a living he resorted to using his blade for any reason at all, regardless of what side of the law he was on. Gangs, banditry, and finally, assassination. Tsubasa eventually became well known in the underworld of Nijiara, perhaps a little too much so. It was then that he heard that the king of New Torrea had fallen ill and that the kingdom's Minister had new, questionable policies. A throne ripe for taking, a politician that people didn't like. It sounded like a ripe job market ready to burst, so Tsubasa packed his necessities and struck out on the road. Others: Often uses berry juice, crushed flowers, or other methods of dying his hair to prevent himself from standing out when on the job. Still, some of the color often manages to shine through, giving him his nickname in the underworld.
Should those of us who have been approved go ahead and put our characters in said tab?
Hayato
"Gah! It was a joke, geez!" Hayato said, rubbing his arm as he followed after Hazel. The school cafeteria was pretty empty this time of day, with only a few students grabbing a late lunch or studying with friends around a few tables. Really it was more like a deli or some kind of cafe than a school lunchroom; the only meals that were free were breakfast and lunch. Everything else had to be bought with Academy Credits off a menu, like ordering at a fast food joint. Of course, the fare was of much higher quality. "With what I got from the mission and saved up from last year, I oughta have enough for both of us." Hayato said. "What do you wanna order?"
Joe
When Joe accepted the quest and entered his coordinates into the teleporter, the holoscreen displayed a notice that he would once more be going into Excaledvol. Missions to the alternate world were frequent, but the place still hadn't been mapped yet in all these years. The Exbeasts and the different rules of nature there made establishing any kind of permanent base of operations difficult, as they'd seen in the Blighted Woods. For things like satellites that they could use to take pictures from orbit, they were still a long way off. And since they had no idea exactly where, when, or what Excaledvol really was, they couldn't do a great deal from the Earth side of the rifts either. After another transportation, Joe found himself standing atop a huge, rocky cliff with a thick bed of lush grass and moss at its top. It was almost like walking on a marshmellow, the vegetation was so dense. All around him, tiny flowers grew with bright blue-white bulbs. These were the Mana Herbs he should gather. However, he'd need to be careful...one wrong step here, and he might tumble down into that valley far, far below... [Joe's location (large image): http://i.imgur.com/coQ5bVZ.jpg]
Phoenix Wing Guild Hall Rutger Artz
Rutger sucked in a sharp breath when Master Jamie revealed Vincent's real identity. How had xe seen through the man so easily? Was it part of his magic, or just experience, or just...something else? Nonetheless, as Vincent took a step back and, seemingly cool as a cucumber, asked the same question Rutger was thinking, the traveling mage stepped up a little bit in front and to the side of the Guild Master. "If you weren't responsible for this, or coming here to finish the job," he began, more confidently than he actually felt, "I think you should leave. There's nothing here for you, the way it looks to me, and there's no need for any more fighting. This guild hall has been damaged enough, and right now there are many people missing, possibly in danger. If you don't have any ill will, let's just go our separate ways for now."
Title suggestions: Tales of Torrea Descent to Uprising (as the Prime Minister sends the kingdom descending into despair, an uprising brings back hope) Dragon Knights: Genesis (I'm assuming becoming/meeting/defeating/etc the Dragon Knights will be a key part of the story) New Torrea: A Fantasy Adventure
