The large office of Heights Law Firm would usually be closed this time of night, but at the moment it was the party for the Taylor family, with the head of the house being a corrupt lawyer who so wanted to be mayor soon. He couldn't have made it any easier for Robert and his Merry Men to sneak in with it being a Masquerade party! A tall, lean man walked in with a steel gray suit, and matching tie. He wore a mask concealing his whole face except his mouth, and mischievous eyes. It was even easier to pass through security since his alias "Johnathan Smith" found its way on the guest list (seriously...? They fell for it?). He gave a nod and smile as he was permitted through. The ballroom was made for these occasions at the firm. People wearing nice outfits and lots of money talk and get drunk and have fun. The room was crowded, with waiters in white tuxes walking around handing out champagne and snacks. A band was playing classical music, tables with white cloths on top, and the hardwood dance floor had a few couples dancing their cares away. Robert looked around, sticking out his leg as a waiter walked by, making him trip up a bit, and pouring a couple glasses of champagne on a few guests. "you idiot! How hard is it to walk around handing out measly glasses of wine?" Robert yelled at him in an offended manner. He went up to a gentleman, looking at the damage. "Such a fine suit too! I'm so sorry sir!" He patted him casually on the pocket, but in a quick flash looted his suit pocket for any valuables. His wallet was filled with money. He would obviously leave the wallet in the lost and found when he left, but he would find it a bit lighter than usual. He kept making his way through the crowd. "Remember, Rob. Taylor is your main target." Little John's voice said through his earpiece. While Robert was distracting Taylor and any of his important friends at the party, his crew was a few floors above trying to hack in to the bank accounts of the law firm. "yeah yeah, I know. They won't be able to resist the charm of Mister John Smith." Robert said quietly, smiling and nodding as people walked by. "How is it?" John asked. "The stereotypical fancy pants ball that everyone loves to be at..." Rob muttered, and his train of thought stopped as he saw a very stunning blonde in the crowd. There was no mistake, even with the mask. That was Marian. Her blue eyes shone through the mask, her beautiful figure, the dress! Oh man! He had to talk to her. He grabbed two glasses of champagne, and walked his way over to her. "Excuse me, I don't suppose you've seen a woman wearing a mask around here do you-- I just realized how stupid that sounded. Its a Masquerade. Looks like I've been stood up..." Robert said in an embarrassing tone, giving a very weak smile. He was about to say something else but then stopped and smiled, then laughed and looked away. "Sorry. It's just... you have really pretty eyes." He offered her a glass and smiled. "I'm John Smith." He said, giving a nod.

The Taylor family was never afraid of spending a lot of money, but always found a cheap way to spend a lot of money. So Mister Adam Taylor was going to spend his money on the proper food and catering for the event but only used the law office. Which was a good and bad thing= at the same, since the office had enough room to throw such a party, “Hello Marian.” One of the bouncers said as he let in the blonde whose hair was curled. “Man, even with the mask; people still know it’s me.” Marian replied with a laugh, her bright blue eyes twinkling through the open view on her [silver mask](http://us.cdn2.123rf.com/168nwm/carlodapino/carlodapino1211/carlodapino121100036/16289752-pretty-blonde-girl-with-curly-hair-takes-one-silver-mask-her-body-is-turned-of-three-quarters-at-lef.jpg) the floor length fitting silver dress hugged her shapely body in a beautiful fashion as she ventured inside towards the party. Waiters and waitresses walked around with trays of food and drinks. Before she could grab one to enjoy she was pulled by her father to say high to the Taylor family. A family of very rich power and with her father being the chief of police, they were very close. “Hello Mister and Misses Taylor.” She said with a smile giving both of them a good firm hand shake. “Have you seen Edward? He’s been looking for you.” Mister Taylor said with a smile behind his rather cheesy looking store bought mask. At least Marian had the creativity to make her own. “He was very much hoping to see you tonight.” Mrs. Taylor made a point to say behind her overly dramatic mask of feathers and jewels. There was no hidden surprises around the police office and courthouse that Edward Taylor had the hots for her and with him being part of a very rich family line, not to mention a successful lawyer in his own right, that the police chief’s daughter should be with him. Unfortunately for anyone else; it wasn’t something Marian had in mind. “Oh I’m sure I’ll run into him sooner or later.” Marian said with a nod, “but for now, I really need to track down some food; I’m starving.” As she walked away, the group picked up her favorite topic ‘Robin Hood’, but she didn’t wish to stick around to talk about it just yet. Her desperate such for food and something to drink became a priority before she was stopped by someone. A tall lean man in a steel gray suite which contrasted with her silver one nicely began to speak to her. His question he stopped her to ask made her smile gently; at first she was worried he was telling the truth. What a way to want to meet someone and her eyebrow quirked slightly at him. Her mind was racing on how to respond, she didn’t want to come across insulting to a tall rather handsome looking masked figure but his complement about her eyes caught her off guard, causing a charming white smile to move across her glossy pink lips. “Oh you’re too kind, thank you.” Her attention moved down to the glass he was handing her, mentally shrugging she took it with her soft small hand. “And thank you again. I’m Marian, Marian Anderson. It’s a pleasure to meet you Mister Smith. Don’t worry about you’re date, I’m sure she’s just lost in the shuffle of people. You’ll find her soon enough. Unless you’re looking for a blind date then… well you’re description of her is rather limited so I hope you do find her.” A nod of confidence left her as a young woman went walking by; the curly hair blonde grabbed a small sandwich from the tray and gave her a very polite thank you. Though the young woman seemed to give Mister Smith an odd look that could almost come across as warning, a warning that Marian didn’t understand but John Smith would ‘Be careful with her’ the look said before the young lady continued on. “Excuse me while I stuff my face.” Marian said with an innocent smile, “I haven’t ate most of the day so I’m very hungry. What do you do for a living Mister Smith?” She said as she bit delicately into her sandwich.

Robert was enjoying this. He could make up any story now! "Ah I don't think i'll find her again. We just talked a bit at the front, and she's probably talking with some other masked man." He said with a shrug. When the woman walked by giving him a look, Robert's dark green eyes shined with entertainment, an eyebrow raised behind his mask. He turned his gaze back to Marian, when she excused herself to eat he laughed and waved it by. "By all means. I know better than to get in between a woman and her food." He said, looking around the room for a second. "Rob, remember your goal..." John chimed in in his earpiece. Marian then asked what he did for a living, Robert took a sip of his drink. "I work for an... organization that deals with funding to charities, you can say." Robert said casually. But he leaned in real close to her to talk quietly. "Although I must say... I can't stand these lawyer types. I hope you don't take offense to it. Its just with my expertise, i have had to deal with all of them. The ones who can't take a joke, the sleezy ones that try to scam you... But the worst ones of all are the overconfident, cocky ones. I'm sure you know those types." He didn't deny he was an asshole while he was a lawyer, and he will play with it. "To be honest this is my first few days back in New York. I've been working in Los Angeles for quite a few weeks, and all this talk and paranoia about this 'Robin Hood' guy. Do they really think he'll make an appearance tonight? He would have to be a mastermind to sneak in here!" "Robin Hood is very far from a mastermind." A voice said, walking towards them. Mister Taylor walked towards Marian, with his son smiling at her. Robert rolled his eyes and looked away for a second. "Found him." Robert muttered. "Alright, we have a problem. There's something we need you to do... Taylor has a vault to lock away his very personal computer. It's activated by some sort of remote. Probably in his pockets..." "I'm on it." He said quietly. Marian, Mister Taylor, and Edward were lost in a conversation. He stood behind the two Taylor's, casually tapping Edward on the shoulder, and moving to the opposite side, brushing up close to him with a smile. "Mister Taylor! and young Mister Taylor. A true pleasure, and congratulations, Sir." Robert reached his hand out to Edward, his swift fingers easily taking off his watch, and putting it in his pocket. Every little bit helps. He then went to the older Mister Taylor, offering his hand. "I'm John Smith. I specialize in helping companies fund to certain charities that will help them in the long run." "Oh yes, yes... I see." "Do you?" Robert asked bluntly. "I'm sure your family has possibly donated some money some time in its very... prosperous climb to the top. As Robert was staring down Mister Taylor, he saw that Edward was trying to walk over to Marian again. He stepped back to get in his way. Robert smiled and waved a waiter to get glasses of champagne for the Taylors. He handed them out, and held up his own. "To the Taylor family. With some luck, they will help shape this city in to a brighter, and better one." He smiled and nodded, and they all took a sip. Robert then placed his empty glass down, and looked at the three of them. "Well, Mister Taylor if you are interested in helping out some charities, give me a call." He pulled out a business card, giving him another handshake, coming in close to whisper in his ear. "I hear the Robin Hood character scares you. Hopefully he doesn't make an appearance on your big night." While he was that close, his free hand slipped in to his pocket, pulling out anything he could. He was sure he found his keys, and he slipped it in to his own pocket. He then turned his attention to Marian, giving a smile. "If you're still around and not hungry anymore, save me a dance." Robert said with a smile, a playfulness in his eyes. He walked away from the three of them, and once he was well in to the crowd, he pulled out all he stole. He grinned a bit as he looked at Edward's watch, a few twenties, and the keys belonging to Mister Taylor. It had a few keys on the chain, but a small little silver box with a button on it. "I think i got it Little John..." Robert said with a smile. "Good, just give it a press, and we'll be good to go to the home stretch." "Not just yet... I'll push it after I have my dance."

When he said that the woman he had been talking to might be off talking to someone else, Marian’s eyes soften as she looked up at him from behind her mask. That was sad because he seemed like a decent guy. “Well it’s her loss.” She said in a reassuring fashion with a charming white smile before she covered her mouth to not laugh with her mouth full about his comment of not wanting to come in between a woman and her food. Every man should now that lesson. She listened closely to him talk about what he does for a job and nodded a few times as he explained. His comment about the lawyers made her smile and the mention of the overconfident cocky ones mad her laugh. “Oh I knew one of those but… well sometimes bad things happen to those types and no matter how annoying they are… they don’t deserve it.” Her eyes softened and dropped. Even though she didn’t like Robert Locksley, she knew what happened to him wasn’t far and shouldn’t have happened at all. Then he touched on her favorite topic and her entire outlook changed, a bright smile came across her face and her bright blue eyes twinkled up to him. She opened her mouth to respond to him before she was cut off by the sound of a voice showing up and her attention turned. Jason and Edward Taylor approached them. The young man looked like a spitting image of his father but younger. The same large charming smile and the same oozing confidence that got his father very far in life, “Robin is not a fun man; he attacks people and deserves to be behind bars. But fear not, the police force are out chasing him and his merry men down.” “Actually.” The curly haired blonde responded, pulling the father and son’s attention to her instead of the young man. “He only goes after the bad people; be a good person and you’ll be fine.” “On the contrary Marian,” Edward said in a gentle correcting state. “He goes after rich people; higher class people and Marian, you do fall under that category. But fear not…” He said softly with a smile to her. “I’ll protect you.” Somehow, she felt like his words were true and to that, she gave him a small smile, only to have the masked man she was talking to before step in to talk to the men. This was the distraction she needed in order to stuff her face, so she turned and snagged a couple sandwiches and placed her empty cup on the now empty tray. Marian turned back around to find the young man talking to her again. His response of asking her for a dance as met with a closed mouth smile and nod since her mouth was full of food. While the young man walked away, Edward slid next to her. “Do you know who he is?” “I just know his name’s John Smith, he seems nice.” “I don’t think he knows the town well enough to speak so positively about Robin Hood. I hope he’s careful.” It was surprising to hear that Edward would worry about someone but at least he was showing a caring side. Marian found an excuse to walk away from the two men before it could turn into something awkward like attempting to set up yet another date with Edward that she would have to dodge yet again. After wondering for a bit and getting her fill of food she noticed the dance floor was finally picking up. The waltz being a favorite dance of the older generation so hers had to learn it to. While she enjoyed these events she really avoided ones that Robert would be attending because she couldn’t stand him, so it was unknown to her if he’d be a good dancer and able to keep up with her. But as she felt the stares growing from Edward she knew she needed an escape. So she found her masked from and tapped him on the shoulder. “I’m going to be leaving soon so if you want to cash in that dance you better so it now.”

Robert was making small talk with some people he recognized from his lawyer days... and he now had a large amount of money, and some fancy rings and watches! He stored them in his pockets, as well as the silver remote to unlock the safe. He was enjoying himself much more now than he did when he was one of these guys in the suits. Granted, not all of these people were horrible... But a lot of them were here to make sure the Taylor family knew who their friends were, and kept them out of trouble when they bend a few rules. Typical in this day and age, right? While he was down here enjoying the party Little John and a few of his trusted men were upstairs working hard to get in to some personal accounts of people working for Jason Taylor and his crew... Little John was still up there waiting for Rob to press the button, but he didn't want to leave just yet... He still needed his dance with the very beautiful blonde. There was a tap on his shoulder, and he turned to see Marian, and he gave a white smile. "I was just thinking the same thing, Miss Anderson." He took her hand, and escorted her out on to the dance floor. He put one hand on her waist and held her other hand. He held her close, and began to dance. "The Taylors seem like an interesting bunch... Having a fundraiser when they clearly don't need it, wearing very expensive suits, and pretending he cared about my business." Robert said quietly, then he shook his head. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't speak poorly of the host but... I can't stand it when people care more about money than the good hearted people out there... And this party did get me the opportunity to meet you." Robert gave her a playful grin. He didn't want to talk more about this for now. He was dancing with a beautiful girl! "Excuse me, Mister Smith?" Robert turned his head a bit, and his eyes went wide in shock. In a nice suit was a very muscular man with short blonde hair and dark blue eyes. It was his best friend and second-in-command John Little, or "Little John" He gave a smile to Marian and a small glare behind his mask at Robert. "I'm sorry sir, but remember that client we were talking with earlier, well we are going to miss our chance if we wait any longer." John said to him. Robert kept dancing with Marian. "The night is still young, Mister Jones. I'm sure the client will still be around after this dance. Some things are more important than money." He said casually. "I would agree with you... John... But when this money helps many lives, I'm sure a small dance can wait." "Oh but you don't understand, Miss Anderson was going to leave after this little dance, and i'll never know when i'll see her again." Rob and John went back and forth, John getting mad, and Robert still trying to enjoy the dance while he still could. "Ro-- John, we should really meet with the client before we lose our chance. Now." Robert sighed and looked over at him as if saying "You're killing me here." He then turned to look at Marian. "I'm sorry, Miss Anderson, but sadly duty calls..." He pulled out Jason Taylor's keys and pressed the button. "Would you mind bringing these back to Mister Taylor, and tell him thanks for the donation?" He handed her the keys. "We'll meet again." He gave a cheeky grin, and one of his green eyes winked at her through the mask before Robin Hood and Little John made their way quickly out of the ball room and in to the elevator. -------- "you ruined my only chance." Robert said flatly as Robert took off the mask. Little John shook his head. "Rob, I know you like the girl, but if she ever found out who you really are, do you really think she would just forget all you did before?" "I'm not that guy anymore, John--" "I know you aren't man, but you're being reckless with this all. you pretty much confirmed that you were Robin Hood in disguise! What's going to stop her from alerting everyone and getting busted before we even hack the system!" Robert looked over at him with a smile. "She won't tell. Trust me." The elevator doors opened and immediately a member of the Merry Men tossed Robert a duffle bag. Inside was his other suit. He didn't want to make it look like John Smith was a "bad guy" after all. He was back in his green vigilante suit, and they were walking in to the office of Jason Taylor. The vault was opened, and inside was a laptop with his personal accounts and information. Robert smiled, and then turned to Will Stutely, the best hacker in the group. "We only got a few minutes before the alarms go off, then we have to go." Will said, reaching for the laptop. Robin slung his bow over his shoulder, getting ready to take everything and run as soon as Will gave the ready. After a few thousand clicks per second, and a few minutes later, Will cheered. "We're good! The money is out!" Robin smiled behind his black handkerchief. "Leave a few hundred in there. Courtesy of the Merry Men." Just as he said that the alarms started to go off. "Show time!" And with that, Will, Little John, and Robin raced for the elevator. The elevator music played softly as all of them disguised were sitting there quietly. "Wait... shouldn't we have taken the stairs?" Robin asked. Will and John looked at each other with wide eyes, and just then the elevator dinged and the doors opened to the ballroom, and some security guards standing there. Little John went in to action. He kicked a guard in the stomach and Robin took out his bow and smacked a man across the face with it. The three of them rushed out, pushing people out of the way while more officers and Jason Taylor was screeching at them. "HE'S HERE! GET THE THIEF! GET HIM!" Robin leapt over a table of sandwiches, and knocking over a glasses of wine. The three of them then made their way towards the door, and slammed it shut. Little John grabbed a piece of rope holding some curtains back and tied it around the door knobs. He was sure they will get through that eventually, but anything to buy them time. The three ran towards a window, Will grabbed a tool to cut the window from a duffle bag, and Robin pulled out a little tool used to shoot a grappling line. Another awesome piece of technology made by the Merry Men crew. He fired the bolt at a lower building, and each one attached themselves to a zip line harness (which was a handle and a rope to attach themselves to). Will started to first, then Little John, and just as Robin was about to go, the doors burst open. Robin gave them an elegant bow, and then jumped out the window. They landed on the opposite building, and with a clean cut to the rope, they ran a couple of blocks to get to their get away car. They were home free... for now.

When he stated that he was thinking the same thing, she couldn’t help but beam at him. The charming young man who was a bit blunt but at the same time nice was interesting to her and, well; she hadn’t met that many interesting people lately. The blonde followed him out onto the dance floor and placed her hand on his shoulder and her other in his large one. While he spoke, she listened closely; as if his story meant everything to her. The more she spoke, the more she realized that he really didn’t want to be here and be around these people, much like how she felt. But upon his mention of being able to meet her, she felt her face flush red and even behind her mask, it could still be visible. “Well I’m flattered Mister Smith but I’m just a normal person.” She said in a simple matter giving him a gentle shrug. The sudden arrival of someone made her eyes expand in shock as well. The tall blonde made seemed to stare down at her dance partner and between their conversations her blue eyes flicked between the two men. Her partner did not miss a beat when it came to the dance and even was able to give her a spin before pulling her back into the waltz. Before she could comment about not ever seeing her again, the large man started to state what sounded like a different name instead of ‘John’. The blonde flicked her blue gaze back to her dance partner and raised her eyebrows from behind her silver mask. It wasn’t until he stepped back from her and pulled out keys that obviously weren’t his. Her eyes expanded as he clicked the button and spoke to her. The keys dropped into her hand and she was left speechless on the dance floor, literally; her mouth was open and she stood there unable to move as he and, what looked like his giant body guard ran off. Oh my god… that’s… that’s… She didn’t know how to react, her body finally snapped into action after they had disappeared into the crowd and she attempted to follow them without drawing attention to herself. She moved through the crowd, clutching her hand to her chest as she walked; hoping she could find Robin Hood before anyone else did. Her search throughout the night was a complete fail before the security came in to announce exactly what had happened and that they had gotten away. Marian cleaned her prints off of the keys (and Robin Hood’s) and dropped the keys into the lost and found. She was face to face with Robin Hood and missed her chance to talk to him! She ate food like a complete fool and hardly said much to him. Oh she was kicking herself now. It took some convincing but she allowed Edward to walk her back to her apartment instead of taking one of the cars home. Sighing softly her high heels clipped and clopped down the street as she kept a comfortable distance between Edward and herself. Her small body shivered slightly under her small shall and she held her purse against her side. “…and that’s what’s new with my life. What’s new with yours?” Edward said finally giving her the ability to talk as they walked. Twenty minutes worth of walking and he finally gave her some attention. The man was arrogant much like his father but he wasn’t necessarily a bad guy; just arrogant. “Well… Aside from being cold there’s nothing else really new with me…” Edward muttered something about her bringing a heavier jacket but she had intended on taking a car home not walking. Marian just rolled her intense blue eyes at the comment and continued onward as she pulled her mask off of her face and put it in her purse. “The courthouse has been buzzing with not only news of your father running for Governor but Robin Hood being out and about more often than normal…” “Robin Hood….” Edward said darkly under his breath as his hands curled into fists in the pockets of his jacket. “Yes Robin Hood, my dad is all about catching him and has been staying late attempting to track him down. I think he’s getting just a little bit obsessed…” “And you?” “Me?” “What about you?” “Well…” She said, shifting slightly as she walked. “Do you have a thing for him?” “What… what makes you think that?!” She said quickly attempting to look anywhere else but him. “Marian, he’s dangerous and you’re just as much of a target as anyone else. Don’t let the fantasy get to you, you really could get hurt.” “The only thing that could hurt me right now is the cold.” “Well you should have brought a thicker jacket.” Edward retorted in a semi-harsh tone that caused her to glare at him; he obviously wasn’t happy that she didn’t agree with his dislike about Robin Hood and she, well she wasn’t happy that he convinced her to walk home and is now watching her shake slightly in the cold. The jerk.

"You're crazy Rob! You can't just go back there!" "I gotta see our handy work! They'll never see me!" Silence, then a sigh. "One of these days you're going to meet your match, and I won't be there to save your ass." "Glad we're on the same page. I'll see you later." Robin Hood was dressed in a large coat, his uniform underneath... but if he was going to walk around the place he just robbed, he didn't want to walk around in a green hoodie. He smiled a bit as the police was surrounding the place, asking questions, and he saw Mister Taylor screaming at the top of his lungs. He guessed he found out that he just lost a lot of his money for a good cause. He then saw Marian, his heart melting a bit at the sight of her, but that soon changed when he saw that Edward was walking right with him. He wondered if he persisted he walk her home, or it was demanded by someone. Either way, he was going to follow right after them, but at a distance of course. He would take detours in alley ways, hide behind cars, doing things that wouldn't get him spotted. The more this Edward guy talked, the more angry he got. He didn't care one bit about her... She was obviously cold! then he got the idea. The only thing he took from Edward was his watch, he probably had a lot more goodies in his pockets... He decided to take the moment where Edward tied his shoe to get a head start on them... When they started walking again, he started walking towards them casually, walking in between the two, and after a second, he called out after them. "Excuse me! Sir!" Rob called out to them. they turned. "I think you dropped something!" Robin said, keeping his head down, but holding up the watch Robin stole earlier that night. Edward raised his eyebrows in suspicion, and then looked down at his wrist. "How did it...?" Robin walked forward. "It's a very nice watch, Mister Taylor. Have any more goodies?" he asked casually, and before he could reply, in his other hand a knife was pointed only at Edward. He wore his black handkerchief over his mouth, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "you're-You're Robin Hood!" He exclaimed. "Ah, glad to see the money your daddy put in your education paid off." Robin Hood said sarcastically. "Can you please empty out your pockets?" he glanced over at Marian, still shivering and giving him a weird look. Maybe she was connecting that Mister Smith and him were the same people. He gave a sigh and looked back at Edward. He picked up his wallet, pulling out the bills, and tossing the rest back on to the ground. He kept his silver lighter, his watch, and look at his phone. With a few presses of the buttons he shut the phone off, and handed it back to him. "You're such a gentlemen too, Eddy." Robin took off his coat, handing it to Marian with a nod. "A thicker jacket just for you." He turned his attention back to Edward. "Now, since you have no idea how to keep a conversation, haven't had the decency to give her your coat, and rambled on and on about your 'exciting life', I think its only fair that Miss Anderson decides who walks her home." Robin said glaring at him, but then looking at her softly. "Don't worry about hurting feelings here. We're big boys. We can take rejection." Rob had a twinkle in his eye as he said that, a grin formed behind his handkerchief.

The more Edward attempted to talk to her, the further and further she looked away from him. Discomfort growing in her mind as she walked. It was becoming more and more apparent that attempting to talk to this self-centered man was non-existent. He was going on and on about how lucky she should consider herself for being able to walk home with him and how safe she must feel and how dangerous these streets are, blah blah blah. That was until a figure moved between them, Marian only thankful to have happen; it gave her a feeling of a ‘break’ from Edward before she was forced to listen to him talk again. That was… until a voice called out to them; causing the two to stop and turn around. The young man who came between them held up something that looked slightly familiar. Even Marian recognized the watch but when the man pulled out a knife, she held up her hands even though the knife was truly only gestured at Edward. Her toned curvy body gave a visible shiver in the dress she was wearing and goose bumps began to appear on her skin for two reasons; one was that the Taylors had a valid point; she did come from a rich background so he’d have no reason not to target her. And two, she was cold! “Listen Robin Hood.” Edward said, his voice cracking in a small amount of fright as he attempted to keep his arm between Robin and Marian. “Just take whatever you want but leave us alone.” His voice tried to sound sharp and stern, like he somehow had the upper-hand of the situation but everyone who’s been around the block when it comes to the lawyer situation knew that this was one of those ‘full of it’ speeches. “There’s no reason for violence, we’ve done nothing wrong and I just want to make sure my girlfriend gets home safe…” “Girlfriend?!” Marian jumped in questioningly only to get a stern look of ‘shut up’ that caused her to open mouth in response before Robin Hood spoke up about Edward being such a gentleman. Her blue gaze shot to the young man in front of them and stared rather blankly at the coat he was handing her. “R…really?” She asked in surprise because she was more than prepared to throw her purse at his feet, instead he was giving her his jacket to stay warm. Taking it from him in surprise, she threw it over her shoulders and stuck her bare arms into the sleeves. It was toast warm, as if he had been wearing it for quite a while and the smell of the cologne on it was almost intoxicating. In fact, she was so lost in the warmth and comforting smell that she didn’t realize that she was getting spoken to. She had put two and two together by now that John Smith was actually Robin Hood standing in front of her. But she wasn’t going to argue with that and she surely wasn’t going to admit that she knew Robin Hood was in the party before everything went crazy. She didn’t say anything, she merely walked to Robin’s side before giving him a small head gesture to continue on her walk; obviously choosing him to walk her home instead of Edward. Did she do it out of fear? Fear because he might hurt her or Edward if she didn’t… or did she do it for some other reason? “Don’t worry Marian!” Edward called out as the two began to walk off… not wanting to reveal what he had in mind as he attempted to get his phone to turn back on. As much as he thought he was being sneaky, he was obviously going to get a hold of the police (or run back to the office) and send them after Robin Hood who was ‘kidnapping’ Marian Anderson, the daughter of the Chief of Police. Why would she choose to be with Robin Hood instead of Edward Taylor? Because she feared for her life and his and thought the best way to save them was to follow the crazy man’s will. “You’re either really brave or really stupid to show back up around here when the whole police station is crawling around.” She said in a playful lecturing tone. “Thank you for the jacket… and the dance. Though it’s disappointing that your body guard interrupted us…” When would she ever have time to make small talk with the mastermind ‘criminal’ of the city? It’s now or never.

Robin shrugged at Edward when Marian walked over to him, and he started to walk the way Edward and Marian were going. He heard the shouts of Edward, but he really didn't care. It would be a couple more minutes before he could get his phone on, but seeing as how he is the son of the man who had just been robbed, it wouldn't take long for them to get to Marian's house once they do talk. Robin stayed close to her, but not being creepy and holding on to her. He grinned and shrugged at her first comment. "I could very well be both Miss. Depends on what you think of me robbing from the rich and giving to the poor." He said simply. And when she thanked him for the other things, he looked over at her and nodded. "Ah, well... If it makes you feel any better, I really wanted to finish that dance." Robin said quietly. "But we had a job to do... A lot of money will be donated to a lot of places thanks to Jason Taylor's generous donations..." He looked at her again. "Just to ease your mind, I have no intention of robbing you. I've heard about your good deeds in donating, or helping out with what you can... Although if you could get your dad to ease off a bit on my case..." He said in a joking matter, he didn't expect her dad to do anything like that. Especially when he finds out he walked her home. They walked in almost complete silence, but they both asked the occasional question. When she finally lead them to her house, he took a look around, and then back at her. "So, before I have to run away from the police coming to your house right now, you have any questions for me? and yes, you can keep the coat." He didn't know the next time he'd be able to have a private conversation with her, and her standing there looking stunning, he wanted to talk to her as much as he could before he had to run.

The walk was nice, and she was surprisingly warm thanks to his jacket. Isn’t is funny how some people are so self-absorbed that they can’t see that people need help; but others go out of way to help those in need. Robin noticed she was in need of a jacket and gave her one while her own ‘walking home’ buddy ignored her obvious signs of discomfort and would have rather let her shake then to help keep her warm. Unlike someone who claimed to have feelings for her. Maybe he did but he didn’t know how to show it… but, as much as Marian would love to attempt to give him the benefit of the doubt, the side he was showing her was something she did not enjoy. It’s funny that the most gentlemanly gesture she had received in a while was from a man that her father was desperately hunting for. His statement of wanting to finish their dance too just made her grin up at him. Beaming in a moment of excitement at it! It’s not every often you get a chance to impress someone like Robin Hood but here she was, impressing him and making him wish that they could have finished the dance. When he mentioned that he wasn’t going to rob her she nodded, turning her attention forward as they continued to walk. “We’re not all bad people sir. And I’m glad you’re recognizing that.” She said simply with a small nod. The arrived to her door too soon for her liking but she stuck her key in and unlatched it to go into her large apartment flat. Turning around, she leaned against the door and listened to him ask her if she had any questions for him. Of course she did! She had a million questions but she had something more important on her mind. “I have an idea that might give you a little break from my dad. It would require showing a side of you most people don’t see…” She bit her bottom lip a tiny bit before letting it go. “I think you should mail the watch to my father’s office at the police department. With a note attached saying that you understand how precious family treasures can be. Edward got that watch from his grandfather. His grandfather skipped over his father on his death bed to make sure his grandson had something to remember him by. It was a horrible loss and something that really hurt him. And still hurts him to this day.” A shrug lifted and fell her small shoulders as whistles were heard coming. “Thank you for the jacket Robin Hood. But please consider that.” She gave him a gentle smile and as she opened her door to step inside she turned to him. “Maybe I’ll see you around?” With that and a wink she walked inside and shut the door.

Robin listened to her words carefully. He really didn't like Edward, or his family. He was sure that the Taylor family was one of the few that set him up to get fired and lose everything he had worked hard for. Why should he give them any bit of happiness when he lost his family, his friends, his money? Because its the right thing you do. He didn't do this revenge. He didn't do this out of pity, or in spite. He did this so others didn't fall like he did. So the corrupt don't take the hope and dreams of everyone else who wants to be successful. He didn't care what happened to him anymore. He did this for the families who slept on the street, or have to pay a large amount of money who already had a very large amount of money. He did this for the young kids pretending to be him as they play. He did it for-- Her. He would do anything for Marian, yet she had no idea who he really was. He was a man on the run, but he watched how she treated others with sincerity and hospitality. She tried to do her best in her way, but when Robert had the chance to do it while he wasn't a criminal, but a lawyer. And at the end when he actually did try he failed. He wasn't going to fail her now. He simply nodded, putting a cold hand in his pocket to feel the watch. He gave a smile and wink back to her. "We'll see, Miss Anderson. Have a good night." He made sure he heard the lock on her door turn, and then quickly made it down the street, the sound of police sirens in the distance. ------------- "The Jason Taylor fundraiser had a few party crashers last night. Eyewitnesses claim that it was Robin Hood himself, accompanied with his right hand man 'Little John' ran through the party late that night, causing chaos and disaster. Jason Taylor, the New York lawyer running to be Mayor Lyon's successor, claims that he was also robbed a rather large amount of his fortune. The police are in the works of questioning probable suspects. Police Chief Anderson said that he was close to finding out who this man really is... But is Robin Hood really that bad of a person?" Robert ate a bowl of cereal wearing a jacket, and some pajama pants. His hair was in a perfectly messy style from just waking up, and he smiled at the screen of the new picture of him, where a guest at the party took a picture of him kicking a man in the chest with Little John at his side. "Various amounts of charities received large donations earlier this morning, all being from 'The Merry Men' and I quote 'Jason Taylor, involuntarily.' "Police Chief Anderson also claimed that he is a suspect of kidnapping his daughter, but whether he stole anything or hurt her in any way has not been confirmed." The news kept playing as Robert was lost in thought. Marian winked at him last night! And he danced with her and she laughed at his jokes and oh god her smile! He wanted to tell her so badly who he was. and apologize for everything.. but he knew that would never work. He was the most wanted man in New York and she was the daughter of the Police chief. "We just received intel that a package was left at the police station early this morning as well. Inside was an heirloom taken last night by Robin Hood belonging to Edward Taylor, the son of Jason Taylor. With it was a note that said, and I quote again 'Most of these modern day thieves don't need to wear a mask. Instead they hide behind a title, a tie, and their 'enterprise.' I know how precious family treasures can be. Take more care of this one.' it was signed with '--RH'. Police say an old gentlemen walked in with a cane to deliver the package. His whereabouts are unknown." Robert turned off the TV and stretched. John was going to come by any second to yell at him for these headlines. But he didn't care. He was sure Marian liked him! And Robert had a plan. A plan that would help throw the police off his trail, Make John happy, give more money to the poor, and Marian to like him--the actual him.

The face to face interaction with her very stressed out father happened only moments after Robin Hood left her doorstep. So you can imagine, the blonde opened the door expecting to see the vigilante once again but finding her father, Frank Anderson with tears in his eyes as he threw his arms around his daughter. He was never one to get emotional but since he lost her mother, he was very protective of his little girl. The two had a long conversation as a ‘questioning’. Marian ended up convincing her father to leave so she could get some sleep but he wanted to interrogate her about her kidnapping. “For the final time dad,” She said nearly shouting at him which caused him to jump slightly at her door. “He _walked_ me home. What more information do you want? We didn’t talk, we didn’t ramble and the only thing that he said to me was that he feels like I’m a good person. So he had no intention of robbing me. In fact dad; if you must know, I felt more safe with the man you’re attempting to track down then I did with the man you’d like to see me with.” With that she gave him a firm nod. “Before you start worrying about who I’m hanging out with, you should consider worrying about whom you want me to hang out with. Good night dad.” With that she left a dumb struck father standing on her front porch. ------- “Now to Melissa live on the scene.” “Thanks Mark, we are outside of Marian Anderson’s home with others waiting to get a statement from her. But it looks like…” The redheaded reporter turned around to see a cop car pull up and two armed officers climbed out. “Apparently she’s getting an escort to and from work.” The redhead turned her attention back to the camera as the cops pushed their way through the crowd and stood at the door. “No one should be surprised by this, she is the daughter of the police chief and is one of the few people whose actually spoken with the infamous Robin Hood so that states that Marian could be the key to figuring out who Robin Hood is… Does she know something and she’s not talking? Could she really keep that from her own father…” The door to her front house opened and the press pushed their way up onto her porch and attempted to shove cameras and microphones into her face. One officer was to her left and the other was to her right pushing the press gently out of their way and take Marian to the police car. Questions were shouted at the blonde in the blue blouse with a black skirt. An oversized steel colored jacket over her shoulders to keep her warm on the chilly day. She didn’t say anything as they screamed questions after questions at her. “Did he hurt you?” “What did he say to you?” “Why were you targeted?” “Did he take anything from you?” “Was he doing it to spit your dad… the Taylors?” “Were you held hostage somewhere?” “Did they tie you up?” “How many were there?” “Do you remember where they took you? Any sounds or smells you remember?” The questions were like a fluid gate opening and she couldn’t answer the questions even if she wanted to; there were too many people talking at once. Marian did get a chance to watch the news and caught word about the man dropping off the bag and the note that was left; as you can imagine, she had a smile curling her full lips in a closed mouth smile. He took her advice, her suggestion and did it! If that’s not proof that Robin Hood isn’t completely heartless then what else could be considered proof?! She slid herself into the back seat of the car that the police came in and one came in beside her while the other took the driver’s seat. “We need to stop at the donut shop.” The young cops gave her a confused and slightly offended look. “Not for you guys. I go every morning to give a homeless man a donut. Since you guys won’t let me sit outside and talk with him I’d like to still give him the donut.” It took a lot of convincing but the men finally allowed the stop to happen. The thing she wasn’t counting on was the press to bombard the courthouse and attempt to get more information out of her. The blonde climbed out of the car and was nearly pinned against the door before the cops could get to her to keep the press back. Microphones and cameras shoved into her face before the cops could get them back. Her blue gaze attempted to scan through the press to find her homeless friend but the police officers pushed her to the door instead of giving her a chance to look. When she reached the door and up the stairs, she finally got a look over the heads to see a familiar hat and coat; she attempted to wave to the figure before the cops insisted she went inside. “There’s an old man outside with a jacket and a cane. Will you please make sure he gets his donut?” The cops gave her an understanding smile, knowing full well that it was Marian’s personality and they were willing to do that for her. They made sure to give the old man his donut in the bag saying it was from Marian before she sat down in her little office, draping the coat over her chair and sitting down. She turned on her computer and began to log into her email as she settled herself back in her spinning chair, her finger tips dancing together in thought. He really listened to her. That was shocking but she couldn’t help but smile as she waited for her email inbox to load.

The old man wasn't at the court house today. Probably because the media was all over the place, and the man with a limp didn't want to be stuck in a crowded place. The news was still covering on how Marian was the only known person to have been "kidnapped" by Robin Hood. Out of all the things, people really thought he was a kidnapper? He could have held much more powerful and corrupt people as a hostage. He wasn't going to choose Marian! She was way too pretty and innocent for that. "Are you sure you want to do this?" "Ready as I'll ever be... How's the suit? Look good?" "You aren't doing this for her, Rob. This is to fix your mistakes. No more sleeping in during the day and stealing at night. It's now work during the day... then steal at night." "Right... Well, lets take the heat off Robin Hood, shall we?" --- "We haven't had any words from Marian Anderson, daughter of Police Chief Anderson. We are not sure if she was threatened to not say anything, or she simply is too traumatized to talk. Many are skeptical on whether or not this Robin Hood would do something like this. All we can do is wait and hope tha-- We.. We just got informed that Mister Robert Locksley has shown up at the courthouse." Robert Locksley walked through the crowd, giving very small smiles and nods as the crowd around him gasped in surprise. It has been years since Robert has shown his face-- his actual face in New York. No one has heard anything, seen anything, not even his family knew where he was. He just dropped off the face of the earth. Many people thought he went to some place to drink and be forgotten, others thought he was taken out. But there he was. His hair looked neat, but in a messy fashion. He wore a black suit with a green tie to show his hidden support of Robin Hood. He looked good for a man presumed insane, drunk, or dead. He walked in to the court house, passing through even more surprised lawyers and lawmen. He was now the talk of the town, no longer Robin Hood. Good. He was stopped by a larger man, balding, red faced. "Locksley.. Wh-What are you--?" "Nice to see you again, Mister Lee." Robert said with a handshake. The man was still very surprised. "I-I What happened to you?" Robert gave a sad smile and looked around. "I'm sure not everyone here's happy to see me... that should be a given." He said quietly. He then looked back at Lee and shrugged. "I was offered a job back in the firm. Surprisingly Mister Taylor stumbled upon my name. Gave me a call. Said he would get my job back if I could track down someone." Robert wouldn't say anything, but his men tipped Jason Taylor to look in on Robert Locksley. Back in the day, Robert was a king at finding hidden evidence and proof to win his cases. One of the best. He would also win over a crowd with his words. Of course Robert had his own agenda by doing this. He wasn't going to deal with the Taylors for long. He might stumble in to other corrupt lawyers and businessmen's work while doing his search for Robin. He glanced around and saw an awed crowd staring at him still. He saw Marian, and his heart melted a bit. She had the jacket he gave her on her chair. He turned back to face Mister Lee, giving a smile. "so is Mister Taylor around?" He was acting with respect now, not a cocky attitude like he did so long ago. He was going to show people that he wasn't the man he used to be.

Marian was so lost in her own thoughts that she didn’t realize her inbox was exploding on itself. Clicking on the first one, she thought it was something to do with her situation but instead it was about…. Robert? Robert Locksley coming back to the branch?! WHAT?! Her eyes expanded as she nearly threw herself out of her seat to look closer at the email. There wasn’t much information other that he was invited to return to the firm for some unknown reason. She, like everyone else, was out of their seats and nearly hanging outside of their offices looking at the group that had already surrounded Robert. Half of her was happy to see that he was back; simply because his firing seemed unreasonable. But at the same time she was annoyed with the fact that he was back, now she’d have to deal with more of his bullshit. And the mixed emotions were easily read on the young blonde’s face. “Mister Locksley,” Jason Taylor said making the crowd parted for his arrival. “Come with me young man. We have a lot to discuss. Everyone get back to work.” He said in a harsh tone. “We’ve got a lot to do and very little time to do it in.” With that everyone dispersed as Jason began to lead Robert towards his office. When they arrived, Jason told him to wait outside for a moment. In that moment, Edward came out of the office. The young lawyer giving Robert a welcome back smile before starting around the corner to go down the hallway; only to nearly run into Marian who had been following the two men. “Marian.” Edward said with a bit of a smile in his voice. “Edward what’s going on?” “Oh Robert’s going to help us track down Robin Hood. So…” The young man placed an arm against the wall, near Marian’s head as her back turned against it, finding herself slightly pinned. “I was thinking about last night. And I do think that the police are overkill from your father… so why don’t you let me walk you home. Maybe you could cook some dinner; we could break open a bottle of wine and discuss some things….” “I really don’t have anything to discuss. I told everything there is to tell to my dead and that’s that.” “Oh the Robin Hood thing… no I wasn’t referring to that…” Edward said brushing over the fact that he never asked if she was safe or okay. “I was referring to when we are going to start becoming more serious…” “I didn’t even realize we were a ‘something’.” She said in a slightly sarcastic tone before attempting to step away, only to find his other hand up against the wall, occupying her space to move. “Edward…” She said in a warning tone. This was not something she was okay with and it was obvious to that in her tone and even more obvious that Edward Taylor was ignoring it.

"I'm glad you're here, Mister Locksley. I was told you are the best at finding evidence." Jason Taylor said. Robert forced a face smile. "I've been told that, Mister Taylor... But this Robin Hood guy is good. Really good. He covers his tracks well, as if he knows just where you might look." It was as if Robin Hood was used to be a lawyer. Oh if they only knew. He just waved his hand. "Yes, he's gotten lucky. but I got permission for you from the police chief to give you all the files needed to help find him. You'll have all access to the Robin Hood files." He could have gotten them one way or another, but he wanted to make people like him a bit more than they do now.. so he was going to be sneaky about getting it. "To be completely honest sir, I was surprised to get the call from you. It seemed that everyone forgot my name years ago." Robert said with a weak smile. "Oh yes, dear boy. I was so shocked to hear that, I wish there was anything I could have done." He gave a smile, and Robert gave one right back. He knew he was one of the people who ruined his career. He didn't buy his act. "I'm glad you're giving me a second chance. You won't be sorry." Robert gave a signature grin, shaking his hand. "Yes, I have no doubt about that. I'll let you get started. Oh, and there are a few people calling for your assistance for their law problems as well. Seems like your reputation has lived on." Robert nodded, and with one last fake smile, he exited the office. He looked around, and immediately saw Edward leaning against the wall... Wait, no! He was basically leaning on her! that wasn't okay. Especially with his lady! Well, not his... but still! He walked over to him, pulling him back rather hard on the shoulder to make him spin to face him. "Hey, Eddy. Your dad wanted me to get you. Wanted to talk to you about you making phone calls to those weird dirty hotlines?" Robert asked with a shrug, a bit of judgment in his voice. His eyebrow raised, a bit of confusion in them. "What? I've never done that!" He exclaimed. "Well then there's another Edward Taylor walking around the firm having nice conversations with a girl named 'Vanilla.'" Robert said with his hands raised. Still very confused, and mad at Robert for ruining his chances with Marian, he left. Robert immediately turned to face Marian. She looked great as always, but he tried his best to hide himself drooling over her. "Miss Anderson. Glad to see you're still fighting the good fight. Good to see you again." He said professionally. If he was going to have a chance with her, he wasn't going to be a tool like Edward. He was sure she was going to reply with something polite, but he new she really didn't care if she ever saw Robert Locksley again, which kinda killed him inside now.

As you can imagine, Marian was growing more and more uncomfortable with the situation at hand; and the more uncomfortable she got, the more comfortable he seemed to get with it. Well this was horribly awkward. At least that’s what she thought until she heard a voice and both her and Edward’s attention were drawn to it. Robert stood there and began to speak something about a dirty hotline number that Edward was apparently calling. Her eyebrows raised in shock as she turned her blue gaze back to Edward. His face turned red from being jerked back from Marian and the comments coming from Robert that, aside from thinking the comments were stupid, he didn’t really know what else to do with himself as he hurried into his father’s office and slammed the door shut. Marian, still backed up against the wall let out a short sigh of relief, her long lashes closing for a moment as she took in a couple deep breathes and let out another sigh. Her blue eyes flickered back open as she turned them to look up at the sharply dressed man with the messy hair. A small closed mouth smile curled the corners of her full lips upward in a grateful thank you without many words. After a small pause, she spoke. “Well, I’m not the only one who can fight the good fight now.” She said with a soft smile before gesturing towards the direction that Edward went, “Thank you. I owe you one. I’ll see you around.” With that she left him with a gentle smile; maybe he’ll be less of a jerk this time around, he seemed to give off more of a humble feeling. Hopefully she’s not wrong. ------ The day went by well until it hit lunch time. The small buffet was provided Monday and many people were helping themselves to the found. Marian being no different at the time; she was filling a plate full of food before she felt someone slid into her and her body shuttered… Great. “So Marian, about dinner…” “I’m sorry Edward but someone already beat you to it.” She said simply with a small shrug before she turned up to see the surprise on his face. Great, now she’d had to keep up the lie. “Oh yeah, I have a date tonight already.” “With who?” He asked in a questioning tone, sounding almost offended; as if she was supposed to already have plans with him. “With…” Taking her plate into one hand she reached behind her, grabbing the nearest hand she could. She didn’t care who she grabbed at this point; she could grab the frumpy brunette from the checkout counter. As she reached behind her, she grabbed a hold of the nearest bicep she found and pulled! Her blue eyes scanned up to see she grabbed a rather shocked looking Robert by her side, her arm linked into his. “Robert Locksley.” She said trying to not sound shocked that he was the one he grabbed. With that she turned to Edward before Robert could speak up. “I have a date with Robert tonight. We haven’t discussed the details but it’s going to happen and it’s tonight. So I’m sorry; it’s going to have to be some other time.” With that she looked up at Robert with a bright smile on her face, flashing her pearly white smile. “Shall we go discuss what the night has in store for us?” Her smile faded softly as her eyes begged him to play along… oh please oh please play along!!

Being back in the firm was... weird. The last time he was here, his name was brought to shame, his money almost completely gone, and he was the biggest talk on the town. He was smart, he was handsome, and had charisma. He wasn't anything like these corrupted men, even back then. He knew why he was a lawyer, and it wasn't for money. He flew too close to the sun, threatened a lot of people, and he was done. He now had more power than he did before. He had a whole army of people fighting that good fight. As he "worked" on finding out who Robin Hood really was, he also took in some clients who were talking about their stories, and in some cases he took them. But he knew his real reason he was back. He was delaying the police force and mayor from finding him. What better than being the man in charge of finding out who he is? The way Marian smiled and talked to him rang in his mind. She was expecting the same old him, the one who just flirted and thought he was the greatest. The fall from Eden really put him in his place. He wasn't going to make the same mistakes... but he was still going to joke around, he was still going to be charming, but hopefully not obnoxious. He got a bit done before lunch. He read over everything they had on Robin Hood, and it wasn't much. They got that he's got a lot of internet access, therefore he needs a lot of bills and there's some sort of record of the data usage out there, he had a large amount of hidden followers that could be anywhere to help the ones in need (of course they didn't word it like that. He and his team were still a "menace"), and that he was male, and athletic. He entered the buffet area, looking at the different foods, and glancing at the few faces who were still a bit shocked to see him. He had a lot of people (mostly women though) come up to him and tell him that they were glad to have him back. Some he felt like they meant it, others... they looked mad. He was walking past the line of people reaching for food, and suddenly his arm was grabbed. He spun around in the direction, arms locked with a smaller frame. He was now facing Edward Taylor, and when he looked down he saw in amazement Marian Anderson. Then she started talking about how they were going on a date tonight. He couldn't believe his ears! What did he do to deserve this? Then he very quickly realized that she was saying this so she could avoid a date with someone she disliked even more. He looked down at her, her eyes telling him to play along. Good thing he was a natural liar. He gave a sincere smile, nodding. He had to push the thoughts of her smile aside as he tried to think of something to say. "Yes, our date." He looked at Edward with a smirk on his face, then back at Marian. "I was thinking a nice little restaurant right on the pier..." He led Marian away from the food line, and in to the small crowd of people finding seats to sit down and eat at. He kept his arm around hers, still smiling as he walked. "Is he looking?" He asked quietly, wondering when they could cut the act... although he wouldn't mind having her this close for the rest of his day.

This was… as you can imagine, awkward and he didn’t get much of a warning either. She stared up at Robert, her eyes begging, BEGGING, him to help her in this situation; it even got to the point that she was holding her breath. He could rat her out and say she was crazy than she’d have a lot more explaining to do… or he could play along with her and help her out. Robert, helping her out… that would be a first! As he began to speak her body relaxed as her arms stayed through his and he led her away from Edward starting a sentence about a nice place on the pier they could eat. She kept her attention straight headed as they walked before he asked if Edward was still looking. She did a gentle glance over her shoulder as if she was looking for something, only to see Edward staring daggers at them; probably questioning exactly what was going on. Her attention moved forward as they weived their way through the tables as if trying to find some place to sit… shit, now she’d actually have to spend lunch with Robert and if they didn’t keep a conversation going then Edward would get suspicious. “Yep…” She said with announce in her voice. “he’s still looking… And I don’t think he’s buying it.” Weaving towards the back of the cafeteria area she spoke softly to him. “He’s been very aggressive lately so it wouldn’t surprise me if he tries to sit close enough to keep an eye on us. I’ll just pretend to get a phone call and leave when we pick a table. Sorry for dragging you into this, I hope he doesn’t give you any guff.” Really… she could have grabbed anyone and she grabbed Robert Locksley. She did her best not to look up at him; she was going to have to deal with the black-lash from Edward and the female community who seemed not only jealous that she was Edward’s attention but jealous that she was on the arm of Robert. Hey girls, you can have both; as far as she was concerned she wasn’t interested in either one of them. The only one that interested her at this point was… well Robin Hood.

Robert was enjoying himself. Marian was on his arm, they were getting glances from people, some clearly not that happy to see this sight. He didn't know if it was because they were jealous, or just didn't like him. He didn't really care right now. She looked behind her to see what Edward was doing, and Robert tried to find a table for the two of them. She apologized, and Robert shook his head and smiled. "Don't worry. It's not my first time helping a girl in need." He approved of that little hidden reference, but then also realized that that could have been taken a completely different way, which he didn't want. He sat down with his plate of... nothing. She caught him offguard so he didn't have time to get food. But he looked at her and gave her a genuine smile, although it would pass as a fake one in a time like this. "I think I can handle him. Hides behind his dad's wallet, doesn't really show respect of personal space, or act like a gentleman when it matters most." Robert said, glancing over at him and giving him a small smirk and nod. He looked back over at Marian. "Although I'm one to talk, right? I didn't really leave a nice impression when I... had to leave. I hope you don't think i'm anything like Eddy over there. Because I'm not." He didn't know if his words would mean anything to her, but it was probably the only time they'll get to talk any time soon with him getting his career back, and his late nights of being Robin Hood. "I'll save you the trouble of leaving though. You're the one with the food." He pretended his phone was ringing, pulling out of his pocket, looking at it, then looking back at Marian. He stood up, walking over to her side of the table, and leaning down to give a convincing kiss on the cheek. His lips didn't touch her skin, although he wanted very badly to. "It really is good to see you again, Marian." Robert said before standing back up, walking towards the door, and pretending to talk on the phone. Going back to work on an empty stomach, Robert spent most of the day looking at the files, doing his best to hide the fact that he was also looking for the people connected to ruining his career. It was a long process, and he clearly didn't have all the available access to the files... He was going to have to give them something on Robin Hood. To gain their trust, and get more clearance. It was risky, it could get Robin and his followers some more heat for a very little bit, but in the end the city will be safe.

Marian settled down across from him and looked down at his plate compared to hers. Well, she really caught him off guard didn’t she? When he said he could handle him, she tilted her head slightly. Really? Was he really willing to face Edward; even Robert couldn’t be that arrogant… or maybe it wasn’t arrogance, maybe it was standing up for what he was feeling could be right. Maybe… maybe. Upon his mention of being the one to talk, she did a head bob in slight agreement. He was a jerk, there was no doubt about that but he seemed to almost be… well sorry. Her gaze moved from her plate to him when he said he wasn’t like Edward and said it with a force of meaning which caused her to raise her eyebrows at him. Her eyebrows dropped slightly as he said that he would leave instead of her. Was he serious? Had he actually changed… “Okay…” She said softly in a small bit of a surprise. As he came to her side of the table and leaned down, she wasn’t sure what was happening and nearly froze in her seat, his hot breath so close to her cheek that she felt her face flush completely red and held onto her breath. As he talked to her against her ear she felt her body shiver and she pressed her lips together firmly, doing her best not to make a weird noise or jerk at the sudden feeling of his hot breath against her soft skin. When he finally left she let out her breath she had been holding. Holy crap that was a lot in a small amount of time. She shivered in her seat. It had been a long time since someone had been that close to her that wasn’t the creepy individual that was Edward Taylor. Most men wouldn’t come near her, thinking she belonged to Edward, like she was stamped as his property which was far from the truth. It took a while for her to finish her meal… Robert was the man to give her some form of attention aside from Edward and it was surprising… okay, maybe there was one other guy; Robin Hood. When Marian finished eating she snooped around a little more, discovering nothing new and that no one had any information about why Robert was brought back, but she did find him in his old office going through files and clicking through a computer. He was so focused he probably didn’t notice the blonde walking by… but he did notice a knock on his door. “Mister Locksley. I have a pizza delivery for you.” The young man in the pizza shirt placed a small pepperoni pizza on the table and waved his hand. “Someone paid for it already. They said you didn’t eat and should have some food. It was pre-paid. Have a good day.” With that the young pizza guy left. Marian sat at her desk watching the young pizza man come by the window looking into her office. He stopped at her door and she got up, walking to him to sign the slip and give him a cash tip. “Thank you.” She said with a smile, “Have a great day.” She said with a grin as he left and she went back to her desk. Time rolled by and the end of the day seemed like it was taking forever. The blonde ran her fingers through her hair as she reached forward and checked her phone to see that her father had texted her to check on her. With that she answered him back, letting him know that she was okay and she stayed in for lunch but if she wanted to go out for dinner he’d just have to deal with it. He wasn’t happy about it but he did agree that he couldn’t keep his daughter on lock-down.
