Daniel walked the halls of his new school. He held his Katana in his left as he had his duffle bag slung over his right shoulder. The bag had everything he needed for school, clothes, food, video games and consoles. He looked around for his dorm, finally after 10 minutes of looking he found it. He walked in and threw down the bag on his bed. The other side of the room was empty. I guess my roommate isn't here yet. Daniel thought to him self as he began unpacking his things. The room was a dull blue, almost grey. The eds were soft though and the sir conditioners let out nice cold air. Unlike a lot of the air conditioners at the other schools he had been to.

Daniel put his katana on a rack that was on the wall. Daniel loved the katana. It was given to him by his grandpa when he was 8. He carried it everywhere he went, he trained with it almost 24/7. Daniel was 16 now, and he had changed schools 6 times in the past 8 years. Every school he went to wouldn't let him carry around the katana and that was a major issue for Daniel. He never wanted the thing out of his sights. Always in his hands and ready for use if he got free time. The Katana had no hilt. When sheathed it looked like a black stick. The blade shined and shimmered in light.

After unpacking Daniel laid down on his bed and looked at his katana. He smiled. "Hopefully this will be a good year." Daniel said to himself with a smile as he drifted off to sleep.

Weisse's soft steps echoed through the halls. "This place is terryfing" he whispered to himself as he struggled to make out the tiny map in front of him. The lights were awful, and it was a struggle just to see in front of him.
Of course, two big duffle bags and a rucksack filled to bursting rarely helps mobility and on the Swiss boy's tiny frame they were even more restrictive than on a normal person. But every pound of it was necessary - clothes, books, Albione, entertainment of all shapes and colors. Not a single article could be left in the hands of his vindictive family.
After about half an hour of stumbling about, he finally made it to his dorm. The door creaked open, giving way to a lighter room, if a litle dull. Still somewhat edgy, he entered, taking in the simple colors and cool air.
Wait, cool? The air-con's on! Someone's already in here!
Cursing his luck, Weisse prayed the noise hadn't disturbed his roomate. One bed was empty, but the other had the unmistakble lump of a body under the sheets. It should've been obvious. No school would dare put a sword, a real sword, on a rack for decaration and the presence of a duffle bag, not unlike his own, is rare in unoccupied dorms.
Scheisse, Scheisse, SCHEISSE
"Mi dispiace, amico if I have awoken you" he whispered, just loud enough for the other boy to hear if he was awake but quiet enough so it wouldn't wake him if he was asleep. "I'll be as quiet as I can"
Placing his bags down, Weisse decided that unpacking could wait until tomorrow. He changed out the bag from his travelling stuff into his night-clothes, brushed his teeth and lay down in bed.
Sleep seemed far away.

Shakuntala had already arrived at the school. She had found her way to er dorm room, quite and sollem, and unpacked. She had claimed half the room, assuming that she would eventually have a room mate, and plastered one wall with pictures of her family. Her deoxygenated brothers, her eldest brother with his baby daughter. It was hard for Shakuntala to believe that he had a wife and kid, and her youngest eldest brother just starting university.

And she was the youngest of them all. Still young enough to need a guardian, Shakuntala had been taken under the care of her eldest brother when their father died in the fire hat destroyed her life, but Shakuntala had decided to come to this school. She needed to, else she would always rely on her brothers. As she unpacked, she began to sing in spanish, without any articulate thought. She put her clothes away, her art supplies, and gently lauded her guitar on the bed.

When she couldn't stand being inside anymore, Shakuntala grabbed her guitar, and found herway outside, where she promptly found a good place to sit, and began to play. It was a song she had made, and it put all her hopes and dreams into music. Whenever she played, she poured her heart and soul into the music.

Paruko was just outside the dormitory. Her gradual walkntowards the build was decent, considering sge had to carry all her things, by herself. As she made it closer to the dorm, she started getting memories of her first year of schooling. It wasn't nearly as hard as people say it is and the claases are too not- Parukos' memories were interrupted by a girl playing the guitar, rather... Badly.

"Hey, girly, could you like, not? Do you have any idea what the time is? Besides, you're playing all that song with the wrong chords." After telling the girl off she entered her dorm. Unraveling a note from her pocket, she used it to figure out where she would be spending her nights, this time. "6-B.. That's over here." Twisting the knob and opening the door, Paruko saw a sight more frightening than death itself!
Somebody had claimed half of the room! She has a room mate! "Noooooo *slams fists on bed* why must I share my room with some simpleton?!" It was at this point, Paruko decided to do some quick snooping, after she claimed the other half of the room of course.

Shakuntala rolled her eyes, then sighed. She rose, slinging her guitar over her pack, and slowly made her way back to the dorm room. She opened the door quietly, and watched the girl that had abused her from before. "Hey girly" she drawled, "it's rude to snoop. And I've been playing guitar since I was six. The cords were right for MY song. So kind your own business" she stalked over to her bed. She carefully put her guitar away, clearly ignoring the girl.

She then carefully took off a gold heart shaped locker that had been her mothers, and put
It in the guitars case. She shifted her bow, which had some arrows with it, putting it beside her bed, before settling down on her bed, finally turning towRds the girl "stay out of my stuff" the first impression of the girl wasn't a good one. She seemed rude, and clearly thought more of herself then she should.

(Six huh? Is that right? No, she's nothing like me.)
"Heh, was that some kind of sad attempt to scare me or something? Look, don't even bother, I was just curious about whom my roommate would be. Its' normal human curiosity, you'd probably do the same."
Paruko sat on her bed, she pulled out a magazine from her draw. It was classical music magazine. (Egh! How'd this get here...) She threw it back in the draw and got another book, a light nivel about a princess in search of a heroic prince in a fairytale kingdom. Old but gold, as they say.

It was clear that this girl was something from a large family, not high standard, but lots of good morals, she probavly lived on a farm or somethiing. Not that Paruko cared. Why would she? Paruko swung her legs over and laid on her bed reading her novel, trying her best to imagine that the other inhabitant of the room didn't exist.

Daniel opened his eyes and looked at the other person in the room. "Oh! Hey!" Daniel rose with a smile. He stuck out his hand. "I'm Daniel, Daniel Quinn. I'm a first Year here." Daniel was happy. He met somebody already, and they looked nice enough. he had pale skin and pretty blonde hair. the pale skin made Daniel know he didn't go outside much. Which was fine by him. Daniel liked the inside.

"Who are you?" Daniel said still smiling waiting for other other boy to shake his hand. "And you don't have to say sorry. I had just fallen asleep." The other boy was already in bed, with out Daniel noticing he had brushed his teeth and laid down. "Oh, crap. Sorry. You don't need to stand up. I didn't realize you were already laying down." Daniel sat back down on his bed. "I talk a lot." Daniel said laughing.

Weisse nearly jumped out of his skin. He had not been expecting such a response, especially not in such a friendly manner. It was a rare and refreshing change.
"Erm... Konnichiwa, Daniel. I'm Weisse. Well, Weisse Feigheit Feder. But please just call me Weisse."
He studied the other boy carefully. Black hair, decent build, skin not quite as light as his own and, even to him, quite handsome features. He was a sharp contrast to his own fair, scrawny, feminine self.
Do I shake his hand? What do I say? What do I do?
Weisse looked for something distnguishing about the boy's personality, first on him, then in the room. His eyes caught a glimpse of the sword again and put two and two together.
"That's a nice blade you have there. Is it a normal Katana or a Dai-Katana?"
Well, at least we have something in common.

"No, I would respect a strangers privacy until I had met them" Shakuntala said, "I wouldn't go snooping until I at least had a name" She said, in a tone that was clearly as if she was explaining two plus two to a kid. So far, Shakuntala wished she had another room mate. Her brothers had been annoying at times, but they had always respected her privacy when she needed it. Shakuntala had personal things, that she wasn't ready to deal with, in her things, and she didn't want some stranger messing with them.

She sighed loudly, and got up, sitting down at her desk, taking out her drawing pad, and art things, tapping her pencil on the desk as she thought about what she wanted to draw. So far, nothing at the school had really jumped out at her, and it didn't appear that anything would so far. Maybe when she met some more....likeable students. Maybe she could ask to change rooms or something. She started humming to herself, something she did when she thought, or when her mind had wondered.

The sun caught the brilliant dyed-sky-blue hair of a young gentleman as he shielded his eyes from it, looking up at the massive building before him. Leonardo, Leo for short, Snow. One of the newest of the fresh meat at the academy. It seemed strange, being away from home like this, but it wasn't a bad kind of strange. In case of emergencies, his grandparents were always around, so he wasn't totally alone. He wasn't too fussed about them but it didn't matter, they were all he had here. His family chose to remain back in the States, which was alright with him too. Independence was key here. And that meant bringing everything that he would possibly need for his year here. His last education year before uni.
Splendid.

He pushed past crowds of new students just dying to settle in on the first day with his trolley-bag pulled behind him and his face a confused squint as he tried to read the signs. No real luck, unfortunately. Japanese reading and writing wasn't his strong suit. Evidently, he was walking to the girls' dorm with little more than a clue about where he ended up heading. Most the doors were shut, either needing to be unlocked for the very first time after summer, or if the room's inhabitants valued their privacy. But one door remained open, and the sounds of some kind of argument broke through.
And he only figured out it was a girl's dorm after he saw two lovely ladies just beginning to unpack their stuff into opposite parts of the room from where he casually stood in the doorway, however it did strike him as particularly odd that there were lots of girls running around this wing of the school, and not as many...guys.
Nonetheless. They spoke English. Fabulous. Maybe he could ask for directions.

"Whoa, ladies. Did I enter at a wrong time?" he ran a hand through his hair and gave the blonde and the redhead a lazy smirk, even leaning against the doorway a little. "Seems the beginnings of a catfight. You need not start arguments on the very first day, mm? The name's Leo, Leo Shuuya Snow. Yet I still cannot make heads nor tails of this strange language. The only thing I could do back home was French. Regardless, enough about me. How about you ladies? Might I be graced with your names, and if I'm luckier, instructions on how to get to the boys' dorm? Unless of course there's...no differentiation, and it's a mixed dorm, but that never really happens. Damn. Though, and as I said before, it's very nice to meet you ladies." here he gave the two a little bow, the smirk never leaving his lips along with a twinkle in the azure of his eyes behind those glasses.

In the midst of Paruko and the farm girls argument. At a blue haired boy with a detectable accent entered the room. It was quite rude of him, not to mention against academy rules for a boy to enter the girls dorm rooms, at least without permission. (This is my chance to get away from this girl, I better take it, besides, this guy is obviously lost...)

Paruko got off of her bed and looked the boy in the eyes, his smile made her feel a little angry, how dare he bust into the room, and look at her in such a way? Though despite this, she decided to aid him, she began to talk in a firm voice.
"Its' against academy policy to enter a girls dorm room without permission. It would be best you leave immediately before a faculty member discovers you are here." Paruko slid past the boy and opened the door wider.
"Follow me, as last years representative for student council, I am obliged to show you to your room. Follow me, I will escort you in a timely matter. Perhaps also brush you up on some basic Japanese skills."
Paruko flicked her hair. She looked at him with a straight unchanging face.

"It's uhhh..." There was a short pause while Daniel was thinking. "Honestly, I don't know." Daniel Laughed a little at the fact he has had the Katana for 8 years and still doesn't know. "I do know that it is a unfinished sword though. They used to transport them like that so when people went to go raid wagons they wouldn't get a real Katana, only that. Then the people that stole the unfinished sword began just using them like that. No hilt or anything. I love that sword and carry it around everywhere I go. That's actually one reason I decided to come to this school. It's one of the only schools that allows swords to be carried around campus." Daniel smiled. "Do you like swords? Do you have one?" Daniel practically fell off his bed. he wanted to know, he loved swords.

Weisse smiled at the story, before quietly murmuring "It's probably a normal Katana, judging from the size. I don't see how leaving the blade unfinished makes a differance, though. Surely the deib would just finish it off themselves?"
To answer Daniel's question, Weisse leaned over, opened his duffle bag and lifted his sheathed blade from under a pile of clothes. He grabbed the hilt and pulled it with a satisfying shhckt, revealing the rapier in its full glory.
"This is Albione." Weisse explained, his face lighting up with joy. "Back home in Schweiz, my Vatti worked with a man called Etienne. His daughter, Amy, was about my age, so when Vatti was out at work during the evening or weekends, I would meet up with Amy and we would kick about until our Vatti's came back. But Amy was in to fencing and wanted to teach me a few things. 'A few things' became everything she knew, and before long we were having full-fledged duels all over the manor. We only used fake swords, but they felt authentic"
Weisse paused, looking at Albione thoughtfully. Then, without warning, he sprang to his feet in the traditional fencer's stance.
"En garde, pret, allez!"
He smiled at the memories, silent for a few tense seconds. The smile saddened, tears filling his eyes.
"I learned to fight off a girl. Dad never gave me peace for it 'What good is that?' he'd say 'Everyone knows girls are better at diplomacy than fighting.' He was kidding, sure, but I kept practicing regardless. I started researching sword types, going to fencing classes and looking into famous historical battles."
Now abandoning the smile entirely, Weisse stopped for a moment and looked at the sword thoughtfully.
"When I turned nine, Mum and Dad got me this. According to Dad, it belonged to my great-great-something grandpa. It was a family heirloom that Dad tracked down and found. I don't think I ever hugged someone so much. I showed it off to my freinds at school, my fencing class, my family..."
The Swiss trailed off, looking solemn. Then, in a low, almost silent whisper -
"It was the last gift they ever got me."
All of a sudden, the depressed look on Weisse's face vanished, replaced by a warm, toothy grin. It was like someone had hit a switch that completely changed his emotional state.
"Ah well, the past's in the past, right? No point whining about the things we can't change."

Shakuntala sighed, watching as the guy just barged into their room, and started to talk, she didn't bother trying to get a word in as the girl virtually dragged the guy out the room by the neck. Like a lost little puppy. She rolled her eyes at the guys attempt of flirtation. "try hard" She muttered

She held back a laugh, and turned back to her sketch pad. she began to draw, immersing herself in it, and chuckling to herself. She started to hum, a happy tune, as she drew. A prowling beast, and a clumsy puppy. Shakuntala related to people how she saw them as animals.

She filled the quick sketches in, adding colour, and detail. She smiled, and pleased with herself, she rose, going to wander the school. It seemed better then staying in her room waiting for the beast of a roommate to return. She hesitated, looking at her things, memorising where everything was and left the room.

She sighed to herself, and made her way to the cafeteria, deciding to grab some food, signing softly to herself, just enjoying her own company. Yet she did hope that she would met some friendly people at least.

"Whoa whoa whoa." the boy flinched as the redhead made her way right past him, standing by the door before he even got a chance to get another word out. Before his gaze met hers, it settled on the blonde, and he mouthed a quiet 'help me' with a chuckle following right after, blinking down at the red-haired girl as he made his way past her and stood outside the room, bowing his head to her in respect. "Meant nothing of it, sweetheart. See, this really is a new country to me. Signs are a bit twisted. Rules are a bit off. People are a bit strange. A guy like me, I could get lost anywhere, really."
He smirked. That really wasn't the case, back home at least. "Okay, miss student-council-representative. I'm all yours. Show me where I'm supposed to go, and I'll willingly follow. In fact, I think I might just have to, haha."
His hand moved to his glasses and he adjusted them as he gazed up, blankly at the ceiling, and then let his eyes trail down until they stopped at the same damned sign that misled him. It wasn't his fault, it looked almost exactly the same to the other one! The character for "dormitory" did, anyway. Nonetheless, he followed the girl, humming a quiet tune and tugging the trolley-bag along behind him, careful not to hurt anyone in the process.
"This doesn't seem like such a bad place after all, huh? So you were here last year, what do you think it's like?"

(-sigh- better answer his question.)
Paruko was leading the way down the hall. Her objective was to lead this boy to where he belonged. Sp she payed no real mind to the other students. She then began to talk.

"An astute observation. This academy is a lovely place. The building itself has a lot of historical value, though I myself don't care for that sort of thing. The students are lovely, most of the time, and it would seem there are several new students this year, I haven't seen many familiar faces, perhaps the work load was too much, so they transferred elsewhere... Oh yes, onto the subject of classes, the work is demanding yet not that hard, aslong as you keep some effort into it. The kinds of classes they teach are above the standard cariculum, so you'll learn alot here. Also, at the beggining of every year they hold a student council rep elrction. Fourth years are always the president and vice president of the council. The others are a single student from each year representing them. I beleive I said before I was the first years rep from the previous year? Correct?"

Paruko stopped, they had arrived at the Mems dormitry. She pointed at the sign like an instructor.
"In English you would translate this to 'Dorm Mens'. The languge normally puts the subject first and the adjective or noun last. That may help you a little. Now if there are no further questions I will be returning to my room."

Ryu watched as his mom pulled off from the school. After many goodbyes she finally left him to fend for himself at a brand new school. Ryu looked around for a bit, before grabbing his two suitcases, and pulling the straps to relax them on his shoulders. Reaching into his pockets, he pulled out a single piece of paper. Telling him about the school, about the education, and the dorm room he would be staying at. Walking into the giant gate he looked around for a sign to give him directions to the boys dorm. Finally finding a direction pole, he saw a sign directing him to the boys dorm.

Taking a couple minutes to walk there, he entered the boys dorm. Double checking his room number, he finally found the room he will be staying in all school year. Looking into the room, he realized it was unoccupied. Maybe he wouldn't have a roommate this year, or maybe the roommate hadn't shown up yet. Ryu started to unpack his things, already claiming the right side of the room, he opened the drawer on the right side packing everything in the drawers. Before he knew it, he was done unpacking. Walking to the bed, he realized how exhausted he was. Without bothering to get into his pajamas, Ryu collapsed on the bed before pulling the cover on top of him. Falling into a deep sleep.

The boy trotted alongside the redhead with his head held high, taking in all the sights, sounds and the people as they crossed through the girls' dorm and to the boys'. He'd even snagged a wink or two at some especially cute ones which had him grinning the entire way there.
"Okay, uh-huh, understood. Yeah, the building's pretty sweet. As for the older students, I think everyone might just be starting to show up, or be late, or you might be right. And the classes should be just fine, nothing to worry about. But these election things? I'm a fourth year. I could, hypothetically, run for president or vice if I wanted. Sweet. And everyone else has a year-rep. So you were a first year last year, means you're a second year now, huh?"
He smirked here and it caught on to a laugh somehow. "Hell, from what I know, you call your upperclassmen "senpai" in Japan, right. Would be cute if you'd call me that, hothead. Anywho, yeah, here. Dorm...men's? Goodness, such a strange country. Thank you, though! No more questions, apart from the obligatory, 'can I get your name and phone-number'."
He laughed a heartier laugh as he tightened his hand on his suitcase, bowed his head a little to the girl and made his way to his room with little more than a wave and a "Thanks!".

Finding the dorm-door open, someone had unlocked it already. All students were given their keys, so someone must be in here already. Awesome. Roommate.
"Hey!" the boy chirped as he walked through the door and shut it behind him, before he noticed the only other person in the room was asleep before he'd even known it. Everything on the right side of the room was organised and unpacked and he sighed, loathing the fact that he had to sit down and go through the same ritual as the others, but it was to be done.
The boy worked around his side of the room, setting up some posters, packing clothes into wardrobes and trinkets and bits and pieces into drawers and whatnot before he wiped some sweat from his brow and looked over at his roommate. They had the sheets pulled up over them. They'd have been exhausted.
Finishing up by chucking the last of his suitcases into a wardrobe too he plopped himself on his bed with a novel in his hands, pulling out a bookmark and folding out the page he'd stopped at.
"Hey...uh. You asleep, man?"
Stupid question. If he is, I'll never get an answer, haha. Doesn't hurt to try, though.

Daniel thought a bit, "What do you mean it was the last gift he ever got you? What happened?" He wanted to know. He hated cliff hangers. "And, you're right. The past is the past, but it'll always be there. You can't change it. You should go back and look at old memories. Saying the past is the past and we should look back is like saying Toast is toast and we shouldn't eat it. I know that was probably a terrible example but still. Looking back on the past lets you remember who you are and makes you, you. Never looking means you can't look back and look at the good times either. Memories are a good thing." Daniel took a deep breath as he looked up at his friend.
