Or serious question

In case it is serious, I would say probably not. If you have some kind of plot line you want to develop, feel free to create a village or so which is cut-off from all other human villages and so didn't receive the knowledge about magic.

He is safe from having to kill a bunch of babies to reestablish his image.

He's still gonna do it, of course. Just won't have to reestablish his image.
