Ok, the post I made about 2 hours ago is now a collab between Fallen and I, after Ellri pointed out that we missed the time that Spirit's PC was brought into the cell block by an hour. Just putting a note here so that if you read it already you know to read it again and aren't completely blindsided.

ok, note to all. We removed a small section of our last IC post due to it not fitting well into a later collab.

This bit:
While waiting for the still-dazed Jedi to answer, she looked at the others. “If they keep to their regular schedule, they’ll be turning off the lights in a few minutes. Unless you all enjoy walking about in the darkness, it might be wise to find a bunk before they do. There’s lots of hard durasteel surfaces to bump into here, so stubbed toes can be expected if you do walk about.

There are some restrictions on character species. GMs can answer questions on this. (primarily, Miraluka and species that cannot speak basic on their own)


So does this exclude a character whose species would require him to have a device to translate his speech into Basic? I was leaning towards that. I read about some species that understand Basic, but just lack the anatomy to speak it, too. Just wanted to ask, sorry if it was already discussed somewhere in the OOC >_<

That was discussed far back in the OoC, so not somewhere you'd be expected to notice it. Only the most annoying types of GMs would expect their players to read through all parts of a 43-page OoC.

Because devices can be taken away and/or broken, we greatly recommend avoiding such species. But if you've got a real good concept with justification, we can listen to a defense for such. Its in particular because such characters are likely to be highly vulnerable if captured. In essence: Normally no, but can be discussed. It'll have to be much later today, though, as we just got home and its 02:45 here.

I'm actually looking to use this character to explore the conflict a soldier will have finding a place in society after lifelong war.
