Just for the avoidance of doubt in case anyone wants to use SHIELD at some point, I have Amanda Waller as Director of SHIELD and Faraday as her deputy.

History:

January 4, 1987: Lighthouse keeper Tom Curry sees a ship run aground during a storm. He travels out to save as many as he could but is thrown from his boat. Atlanna, Queen of Atlantis, saves his life.
January 16, 1987: Atlanna and Tom fall in love. She moves to the lighthouse with him and the two begin to live a new life together.
April 14, 1987: Atlanna becomes pregnant with a son. The Atlantean throne begins to search for her.
 January 29, 1988: Arthur Curry is born.
March 16, 1990: Atlanna is discovered by the Atlantean royal guard. She is forced to abandon her family and return home. Arthur and Tom are never told why she had to leave.
June 25, 1993: Arthur is found by his father breathing under ten feet of water. Over the next few months he shows abilities of enhanced strength and endurance.
December 9, 1995: Tom seeks out the help of Doctor Shen, a man specializing in marine biology who was also rumored to be obsessed with the lost City of Atlantis. The two make a deal that Shen can study Arthur and help him understand his abilities if he never goes public with his findings until Arthur is old enough to live on his own.
June 14, 2002: Arthur joins his high school swim team and easily breaks every record there is due to his advantages.
May 15, 2006: At Arthur's graduation doctor Shen reveals to Tom that he is going to reveal his findings to the world. An argument ensues and Arthur brings Tom home.
May 16, 2006: Tom throws all of Shen's research into the ocean destroying it.
November 24, 2007: After a year of desperately trying to validate his work Shen hires a mercenary to break into the Curry lighthouse and steal a blood sample he had hidden years ago. Arthur returns home to find the mercenary and his dad in a fight. After Arthur dispatches the mercenary, he brings his father to the hospital where he later dies.
November 30, 2007: Arthur catches up to the man who he believes killed his father. After strangling the man to death in front of his teenage son he discovers that his father had died of ammonia, not wounds.
January 22, 2009: Arthur is approached by a man named Vulko claiming to be from the underwater City of Atlantis. He is informed that his mother was the queen of Atlantis until she died and that now his half brother Orm was ruler. Arthur travles to the underwater city and begins his new life.


February 14, 2009: Arthur is welcomed to his city with open arms. He meets his brother and is declared to all to be the Prince of Atlantis.
April 30, 2010: A dangerous species of sea creatures known as the Trench attacks Atlantis. Orm assigns Arthur as a general in the Atlantean army in charge of a special forces unit called The Others.
June 1, 2010: Arthur discovers where the Trench's forces originate and block their passage to the main sea level. Atlantis is saved from destruction and he is proclaimed a hero.
August 6 2011: Arthur wins a tournament held every ten years in Atlantis and is once again lauded as a hero. Orm becomes increasingly jealous of his brother's popularity.
September 5, 2011: A faction within Atlantis begins slandering Arthur's name. He is ridiculed because of his half human heritage and mocked throughout the kingdom.
April 9, 2012: Arthur becomes increasingly aware of Orm's intentions to invade the surface world. He confronts his brother and is ridiculed in front of the court.
May 29, 2012: A water sorceress by the name of Mera is hired to assassinate Arthur. He barely escapes only to find that Orm was behind the attack. He flees to the surface world after stealing a trident.


May 30, 2012: Arthur returns to the surface world for the first time in years. He goes to his childhood lighthouse and finds Doctor Shen rummaging through the wreck.
November 1, 2012: Doctor Shen goes public with his research after convincing Arthur that it holds no threat to him. He is initially mocked in the scientific community especially by one Lex Luthor who called him a mad fool.
December 25, 2012: Aquaman makes his first appearance as a superhero by stopping a robbery in Boston on Christmas day.
January 23, 2013: Superman stops the attack on President Kelly. Aquaman is unable to join in on the fight. Instead he begins to be more public with his heroics.
March 12, 2013: Aquaman is attacked by a villain calling himself Black Manta. After an extended battle Arthur is victorious but is unable to capture the villain.
April 11, 2013: Lex Luthor calls for the formation of the Justice League. A call that Aquaman initially refuses.
June 17, 2014: After well over a year of heroics Aquaman is approached by Lex Luthor himself with an offer to join the Justice League. Aquaman accepts and is brought into the League proper.
July 20, 2014: Arthur discovers Mera has also been exiled from Atlantis when he finds her severely wounded on a beach one hundred miles away from Metropolis. He nurses her back to health in the Curry lighthouse.
August 1, 2014: Mera awakes from her coma to find Arthur watching over her. Arthur allows her to stay in the lighthouse on the condition that she does not cause trouble.
October 31, 2014: Mera is discovered by Atlantean soldiers. Arthur intervenes in the fight and saves her life. She moves to Boston with him.
December 6, 2015: Arthur and Mera start a romantic relationship after many adventures together.
February, 2016: The present.

Supporting Cast:

Lex Luthor: Lex approached Arthur and asked him to join the Justice League. Since then he has considered the billionaire a friend. He respects the man and is one of the few people on a first name basis with him.
Mera: Mera is Arthur's ally despite the fact that she tried to kill him when they first met. While he does not yet know if he is in love with her, he definitely enjoys her company.
Thor: Thor and Arthur have a kind of friendly rivalry going on. God of Lightning versus Prince of the Sea. Who can vanquish more enemies? (To be confirmed with @TimeMasterX


Doctor Shen: Once one of his closest friends, Doctor Shen has lost both his trust and his respect. While he doesn't actively hate the man, he doesn't much like him either.
Captain America: Arthur definitely respects the man but he feels as if he should be leading the Justice League. It might be because of the royal blood or his time leading the Others in Atlantis. Either way the two get along but Arthur isn't afraid to question his decisions. (To be confirmed with @Blue Demon


Orm/Ocean Master: Orm tried to have him killed and has been actively hunting him for years. The two do not get along and Arthur is getting just about fed up with his brother.
Black Manta: This mysterious man seems to have a personal vendetta against Aquaman. He doesn't understand it but he will not allow the man to harm himself or those around him.


How (if at all) does the New Frontier version of your character differ from the original?:
He lived in Atlantis for a bit as a local hero/military leader. Also Orm hires Mera to kill him. That and he isn't king yet. Oh and he isn't married to Mera yet.

Was Faraday ever with the CBI or another agency as the handler for Richard Dragon and Bronze Tiger in this continuity and/or did Fury still work for the CIA prior to SHIELD?
