Fuckit, I'll join this, thinking The Return of the Legendary Fission, a true American hero. something to do with Zod, I love me some Zod.

Fission was based on the evil Impulse from Superman wasn't he? You could put a new spin on that if you wanted.

I decided to go with Jonah Hex as my CS. I will try to finish it as soon as I can.

Character Reimagined: Jonah Hex
Secret ID: Jonah Hex
Age: 35
Powers: Jonah has no superhuman powers, but he as a normal human is incredibly skilled in different aspects of combat.

Sharp shooter: Jonah Hex is an expert marksman and is fast enough to quick draw and kill six men before they can even retaliate, with one revolver. He is able to perform trick shots by having bullets ricochet off of hard surfaces to hit enemies concealed by cover. Jonah can also shoot projectile weapons such as throwing stars, knives and arrows out of the air. Finally he is accurate enough to shoot the ears and fingers off of enemies without killing them.

Axe wielder: Jonah Hex is very skilled with wielding an axe and has killed an armed man from fifteen feet away before he can draw his gun.

Knife fighter: As a knife fighter Jonah Hex is incredibly skilled and has fought against world class fencers with the weapon.

Hand to hand combat: While he is not trained in any complex martial arts, Jonah Hex is a great boxer and formidable brawler. Living in a more gritty and rougher time period has made him see many fights and tavern brawls.
Weaknesses: Jonah Hex is still just a normal human and if you shoot him or stab him he will bleed like any normal human.
Personality:
Appearance:

BRIEF Bio:
Notes: for weapons he has two revolvers, one shotgun, a combat knife and an axe

@Weird Tales Remember you gotta change him up a bit! Make him in the modern day, give us a good reason why his face is jacked, etc.

@rocketrobie2 When you mentioned your boy being in red, it made me think of the refurbished OMAC from the Outsiders comics REMAC.

I like how you're spinning it with the satellite and the connection to Darkseid's power, but how will this thing be able to join a group to defend the Earth? Will we communicate with a satellite? Is there a scientist somewhere running the show like with REMAC and the Outsiders?

@bluetommy2 So Zod is on Earth looking for a successor? Won't that interfere with his lazy ruler ship of Rann? Either way I still dig how you spun him, and the phantom gauntlets. Is that a thing in the comics?

@The Kid Lantern The whole time I was developing OMAC I was thinking he seemed to fit a REMAC redesign a lot better by in my head I already had the 'O' in the OMAC acronym figured out and I didn't want to just go back and change most of the stuff I had already written.

Also in terms of communication, I would have it start off as just idle chatter from when OMAC is possessing someone but eventually have someone (Maybe Hawkman even) set up a communications relay with the satellite so OMAC could communicate with everyone via earpieces or something of the like.

@rocketrobie2 Is OMAC an AI then? Or is there somebody controlling it and selecting people at random to become superpowered giants?

@The Kid Lantern It's an AI. The AI is what keeps the Omega-Forcd consciousness in check and take control of the people it possesses.

@The Kid Lantern Well he has a regent in his place while he's out. And no, the phantom gauntlets aren't a thing in the comics, i was inspired by Zod's depiction in injustice, where he has prominent gauntlets and controls the phantom zone.

So many ideas going through my head right now...

Ideas include:
a genderswapped Demon/Jason Blood

a Constantine with psychic powers instead of magic

an insect/arachnid inspired character (Blue Beetle, Yellowjacket, Spider, Black Spider) with actual insect/arachnid-based powers

maybe a character that somehow combines Secret and Deadman (ghostly abilities)

Genderswapped Demon sounds good.

A spin on Constantine could work.

As for bug related characters, there's a classic hero recently remade as a female with a tech suit called the Red Bee. A different/female Blue Beetle would be cool too. [There's even a Red Beetle that's female who uses the same tech as Ted Kord.]

You should make Secret Deadwoman and an adult LOL. I loved Secret in the classic YJ days, and Deadman is another favorite.

@The Kid Lantern Now that I've had time to think... I'm actually very stuck between Aquaman and Green Lantern now. My Lantern idea still stands, but I've also been thinking of what could be an interesting take on Aquaman.

Atlantis is still involved, but Aquaman does not rule it. Instead, Atlantis is considered a dead kingdom. It's there, but it's no longer inhabited, at least not by any actual Atlanteans. Instead the native Atlanteans were driven out, forced to abandon it a long time ago and slowly started to die off, especially when they began to reluctantly integrate themselves into the surface world. Now there's only one left (Aquaman) and even he is half-human. As for Atlantis itself, what if it wasn't so much mystical but instead used advanced technology (like in the Disney movie)? The only mystical object still related to Atlantis is the Trident of Poseidon. The Trident itself would more or less still function like the regular DC Universe, in that it summons lightning and can manipulate storms to a certain degree. Basically Atlantis based its technology around machines and weapons meant to be powered by the Trident. However, this universe's version of Black Manta (who I imagine as a human that was lost in a shipwreck and adopted into Atlantis) tried to take the Trident for himself so he could use it to usurp the throne and become King. He managed to accumulate followers and what started as a simple rebellion escalated into a Civil War that left Atlantis in ruins, its people forced to abandon it. Now the only people left in the city is Black Manta and his followers, Manta himself stubbornly remaining on the throne as a self-proclaimed King currently holding the Trident to boot. He would see Aquaman as a threat to his "reign" and thus that would be the origin for their archenemy status.

@Double I really dig both ideas for GL and Aquaman, I like the spin on Aquaman a bit more though. "Last Son of Atlantis" has a nice ring to it. I've never liked Aquaman as a king. I don't much care for Mera either if I'm being honest. I dig Tempest and the last Aquagirl [from Sub Diego, my favorite era of Aquaman].

Character Reimagined: Aquaman

Secret ID: Arthur Curry Jr.

Age: 30

Powers
Telepathy: He can summon/communicate with aquatic animals. With enough concentration he can also do the same with lifeforms evolved from the sea, though it is considerably weaker.
Superhuman Strength: His strength derives from the fact that his body is strong enough for his lungs to work properly even at the bottom of the sea where the pressure is at its greatest.
Superhuman Durability: Similar to his strength, Aquaman can withstand a great deal of attacks from other superhumans or even machine gun fire.
Aquatic Adaptation: Aquaman can survive at any depth in the ocean, swimming and fighting at the same superhuman level as any superhuman on land, though Aquaman is notable for being an even stronger combatant while underwater.
Hard Water Constructs: Aquaman possesses a pair of Atlantean gauntlets that use electrical currents to manipulate water into "solid" constructs such as melee weapons or shields.

Weaknesses: Aquaman's main weakness is that much of his ability is derived from the Sea. While he can still be formidable on the land, the Sea is where he is at his strongest. Even his water constructs are reliant on the gauntlets as an outside force, without them Aquaman is effectively unarmed.

Personality: Most of his kind tend to have a stubborn pride for being born of Atlantis. They are Atlanteans first above anything else. Arthur on the other hand, is the polar opposite. He is Human first and Atlantean second. Having never even seen Atlantis before, Arthur knows very little of its culture and customs. Instead, he was raised as a human and he often looks to his firefighter father for inspiration or even occasional guidance. As such, Arthur prefers to emulate his father's acts of selfless heroism over his mother's loyalty as a soldier. This often means he prioritizes saving lives over defeating his enemies. That only really applies to Aquaman, though. As for Arthur Curry the person, he respects both his parents more than anyone else and will often think back to the things they taught him in an attempt to apply those wisdoms to his every day life, both as Arthur and as Aquaman. The long and short of it is that he tries every day to emulate his father's selflessness and his mother's loyalty.

Appearance: WIP

BRIEF Bio: Born to an Atlantean mother and human father, Arthur Curry Jr. grew up never being told of Atlantis or his mother's true heritage. According to his parents, they felt that he would have been better off having a normal human childhood. But when his Atlantean abilities started growing, they couldn't keep the secret any longer. Arthur's mother finally told him her story about Atlantis and the inner civil war that forced her to abandon home and live on the surface. The only things she brought with her was a pair of gauntlets designed to give the wearer the ability to manipulate water into constructs. As it turns out, she was an Atlantean soldier, one of the few who were female in fact, as Atlantis was largely male dominated. She taught Arthur how to use the gauntlets for himself and even shared with him her Atlantean training and fighting skills. Unlike his mother, Arthur had a desire to use his skills and abilities to help mankind. Rather than hide them, he instead used them to help the innocent and fight against the forces of evil as Aquaman. This perhaps proved to be a mistake, as before long Aquaman's activities would get the attention of his mother's oldest and most hated enemy.

Notes: Obviously it's not finished yet. Could use some suggestions like... how old should he be? Or what kind of appearance should I go for?

My idea is however they get their powers, they are merged into a single body but when they go to fight crime, supervillians, alien invasions, etc they split apart but as soon as they are done they go back to a single body. Kind of a reverse Firestorm situation. Also it is a boy and a girl, when in civilian form the guy is in control of the girl's body but the girl is always there to give advance to nag, etc. Also the guy while stuck in the girl's body is mentally attracted to girls but the body is attracted to guys, so he is screwed romantically.

It also kinda reminds me of Marvel's Starhawk. If you can make it work without it getting too confusing it should be good.

Never heard of Marvel's Starhawk. Now I have to look up Marvel's Starhawk. Reading the Marvel Database on the character is confusing one paragraph he is merged, another they are getting married and having kids, another he is merged, final paragraph he forced the merge again and was forced out of it.
