The Nexus' skies are very alien looking. There's a lot of moons, and Planets and stuff out there. Since it's kind of a dimensional crossroads/it's own isolate pocket universe, but still has connections with the rest of the multiverse. What you can see on them depends mostly of what other verse the Nexus is skimming at the moment. Some of them may even be visible during the day (and not all parts of the Nexus need to have the same celestial bodies visible at the same time, even if they are gas giants, they may be only visible from a place and not from the other).

The background is still lots of stars and a huge structure that looks like an arm of a spiral galaxy but seems to slowly crawl with will of its own, even though the pace is far too slow to notice for anyone that's not actually trying to map the skies (not that Miyu has a way to go into interstellar space and come back in a reasonable time frame, obviously). In other words, the Nexus seems to have a precession far faster than that of the Earth (and most celestial bodies don't follow the laws of physics at all), making its skies very mutable. Which is very important given how long most of the Nexus inhabitants live.

Even though I haven't denied it (I was just explaining how things are up there), that's an unreasonable goal, specially since Miyu has no astronomical knowledge worth of note, even if she may be well-versed in physics and math, she still needs to learn astronomy by herself.

If you wanted to mean that she can go to another star she'll need more tech to do it. Nothing on KC-00032 has ever been said to be able to reach relativistic speeds, specially (spare parts she picked here and there). I'm not really being unreasonable here.

Miyu can do her thing, but it has to have at least some basis.

@KoL I didn't think I needed to reach relativistic speeds. I mean, you don't need to travel interstellar distances if you can just wait for for nexus gobbledegook shifting around to put the place your at near a place in another solar system. And even then, you only need that if you want to visit more than one star.

Also, me saying "eh, that'll take Miyu out of circulation too" isn't me trying to use Miyu as leverage to get my way. That's just statement of fact. If I was trying to convince you, I'd say "Miyu will be in every battle and complain loudly until she gets to go visit stars on her own."

@Lucius Cypher While I always love the idea of rallying behind your characters, the cold harsh reality of "We never finish anything between fights" always sets in. As much as I love the idea of Faction Grafdakka, I have serious doubts you'll finish your scene with Eos, much begin Faction Grafdakka.

True, but dreams are only dreams if all we do is think about it. While I admit this Eos Convo might take a bit, I'm sure we can still pull it off somehow. If nothing else, we can do a 1x1. Grafdakka intends to meet with Miyu alone anyways.

Henry I'm somewhat less worried about since I want him and Grafdakka to meet in battle, just to get an idea of each other's prowless in battle and possibly open up recruitment that way. All in all, just a bit longer to get my army gathered. Three, maybe five days. A week at most.

I mean, they've somehow managed to completely ignore traditional physics to construct giant mecha suits with laser guns, they should be able to reach at least close to lightspeed with advanced vessels.

The sword Eos used wasn't Machina technology at all. Only the act of she recreating it was, but the weapon itself is a far more complex entity.

I never said that they can't have it. What I've said is that Miyu can't possibly have got her hands on this kind of technology, since the last battle took place in a weapons factory and the and, interstellar weapons are pointless on the Nexus (as is FTL travel technology).

To the Triumvirate, there's nothing worth of interest out there, outside of the main world where they inhabit and fight. Thus, even if the Machina have this kind of technology, it would not be in a place like KC-00032 or be readily available to steal without consequences.

I really don't get the amount of effort put on trying to subvert the setting, since this isn't a space opera RP. After all, you all don't suppose that we will go out of our way to narrate this kind of stuff that we have no interest in/is completely outside of the story's subject, do you?

Spin-offs are best handled as their own thing.

However, if you really have any big interest in space exploration, ask @Lonewolf685. He has a "character" in reserve that might become very interesting for you. In fact, this is potentially the best chance to introduce it to the RP in a relevant way. I'm sure that you guys can work something out.

@KoL I've never asked for the next battle to be about space. I've been treating it as an intermission activity to put my own spin on things.

I've asked a couple times whether you guys had any plans for space, and you've never given me a definite no or yes. It's usually "Well.. Mostly it's boring, but you might run into eldritch horror/unintroduced character".

Which leaves me going wondering whether that's: 'Ok, GM hands are off, I can do whatever' or 'GMs are gonna throw an eldritch horror at me, best include them in the planning'.

As it is, this'll probably be a collab with Lucius if it ever does go through.
