MONSTERVERSE TIMELINE

(If anyone wants to add a date to the RP regarding their character or request a major event to be posted, ask and I may add it in)

70,000,000 - 65,000,000 BCE - Fossil records record the existence of Godzillasaurus, theorizing that the gijinka species may have lived for millions of years or that they were originally simply dinosaurs.

65,000,000 BCE - Giant asteroid crashes into the Yucatan Peninsula and wipes out the dinosaurus.

1900 - Beginning of 20th Century.

1933 - Expedition into Skull Island A. First Encounters King Kong I. Rampages through New York after being captured and taken by a crew. Dies falling off the Empire State Building

1944 - In the midst of World War II, two fighter pilots – American pilot Hank Marlow and Japanese pilot Gunpei Ikari – parachute onto Skull Island Prime in the South Pacific after a dogfight and engage in close combat, but the fight is interrupted by Kong II. 

1945 - First Atomic Bomb was tested.

     - Doctor Ishiro Serizawa born.

1956 - Monarch founded; a small, off-book research team established to engage in the systematic study of "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms" aka “Kaiju Gijinka”.

1954 - November 3rd - Godzilla I appears on Odo Island. After JSDF attacks it with depth charges, Godzilla retaliates and destroys most of Tokyo. Later, the kaiju is killed by the Oxygen Destroyer compound.

March 1st - Castle Bravo Test - Rumors of Monarch trying to kill something. Many speculate Godzilla I, but records hint at something MUCH bigger. 

1955 - Godzilla II appears, fights ANGUIRUS in Osaka. Godzilla wins, Anguirus comatose in Osaka River. 

1956 - Rodan I and II appear along with first wave of Meganuron swarm. Both Rodans are killed in the eruption of Mt. Aso. Meganuron swarm scattered. RODAN III (offspring) survived.

1961 - First expedition to Infant Island, first encounter with the Shobijin. Both girls are kidnapped by Clark Nelson, but later rescued by Prof. Shinichi Chujo. Mothra appears, marches across Japan, cocooning itself at Tokyo Tower, where she emerges as an imago. Flies to Rolisica, where she retrieves the Shobijin.

1962 - Godzilla II and Kong II fight at the summit of Mt. Fuji. Battle ends at a draw.

1964 - December 20th - Ghidorah first sighted over Japan. Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra fight off the invader. 

1965 - Gamera appears. 

1966 - After a lot of gijinka attacks were reported, the GDF (Global Defense Force) was formed for the first time in order to track down hostile aliens and monsters. 

- Encountered an alien being known as the “Original” Ultraman tracking down space kaiju Bremular. Ultraman kills kaiju and becomes of service for the Global Defense Force (GDF).

- Gontengo I has been created.

1973 - U.S Government sends out Landsat and the 2st Aviation Brigade, 3rd Assault Helicopter Company, to mount an expedition to to map out Skull Island Prime. Squad encounters Kong II and the Skullcrawlers.

1975 - Last Major Battle Godzilla II fights before disappearing. Fights the alien MechaGodzilla I controlled by the Nebulian aliens and brainwashed Earth Defender Titanosaurus, and defeats them both.

1976 - Godzilla II disappears off the map temporarily. Reasons unknown - possible hibernation status.

1984 - Godzilla II rises due to an erupting volcano. After attacking a nuclear sub and feeding off its power, Godzilla II is attacked by a group of Soviet and US subs. She attacks Japan, and fights the Gontengo, later dropped into Mt. Mihara.

1985 - December 30th - Stacker Pentecost is born.

1991 - Godzilla II reemerges to fight Biollante for the first time.

1993 - December 11th - Godzilla III is born.

1995 - MONARCH security officer Aaron Brooks defies his father Houston Brooks and leads an off-the-books mission to Skull Island, to determine what has become of Kong II since the 1973 expedition.

Godzilla II begins to meltdown but succeeds to keep it under control.

1998 - May 20th - Zilla I appears in New York City, and subsequently killed by the Air Force. Zilla II is born.

     - December 11th - Raleigh Becket is born.

1999 - Monster Island is revealed to the public. Operation: Destroy All Monsters goes underway with Godzilla and the rest of the Earth Defenders going up against Queen/King Ghidorah alongside the aliens known as the Xilliens. Earth Defenders defeat Ghidorah and Xilliens were forced to retreat.

2000 - Beginning of 21st Century.

Labeled “Second Impact” happens during the top secret Katsuragi Expedition. 

2002 - September 16th - Akane “Kiryu” Yashiro is born.

2003 - April 23rd - Mako Mori is born.

2008 - Cloverfield rampages through New York. Presumed dead.

2010 - NERV is officially formed under Gendo Ikari by the UN in secret. Evangelion production begins. 

2013 - August 10 - Antaverse Rift first opens up in the Pacific Ocean. First Rift Kaiju Gijinka, Tresspasser, attacks San Fransisco. Killed by Nuclear Weaponry. The Great Pacific Rift War (GPRW) begins.

2014 - Sightings of a large organism swimming near San Fransisco. Top secret data presume the monster to be like the monster found off the Castle Bravo Test. Seemed to be chasing down creatures known as MUTOs. Current Status: Unknown.

     - September 6th - Pan Pacific Defense Corps created.

     - September 15th - Jaeger Program Formed in PPDC

2017 - May 21st - GDF creates special branch known as the Kaiju Global Defense Force (KGDF).

     - May 21st - Pan Pacific Defense Force joins the KGDF.

     - May 21st - NERV joins the KGDF.

2017 - July 10th - Gipsy Danger prototype created by Raleigh Becket and Mako Mori.

2020 - Gipsy Danger is officially created in the PPDC.

     - Godzilla and Kong fight again for the first time in 68 years. Winner undetermined once again.

2024 - Akane Kiryu Yashiro becomes General of the KGDF.

2025 - Janurary 12 - Battle of the Breach ends the Great Pacific Rift War with Gipsy Danger sacrificing her old body to destroy the Rift portal. Her conscious is ejected just before entering and was recovered. Gipsy earns the medal of honor and a new body.

     - Marshall Stacker Pentecost sacrifices himself in The Battle of the Breach. Hercules Hansen becomes the new Marshall of the PPDC.

2030 - Gipsy Danger becomes Lieutenant of the PPDC.

INTRODUCTION

It is the year 2034… exactly eight decades after the dawn of the Kaiju Era back in 1954 with the raise of the infamously legendary Godzilla. Her destruction of Tokyo, Japan on that fated day had changed humanity as we knew it… for we are not the dominant species on the face of the Earth. After we successfully killed the terrorizing monster, more began to rise from the depths of the ocean, from deep within the mantle, and even some began descended down from the Heavens to conquer Earth. They are strange specimens, being known to be able to take the form of a human-like character with supernatural powers and anthropomorphic qualities in one second until becoming a giant, terrifying monster the next! We call them “Kaiju Gijinkas”, or simply “Monster Girls”, and they all come in different sizes, shapes, along with each having a unique backstory to them. 

In order to compete with these newfound threats, we as humanity had to act quickly. We started out slow, increasing our military defenses and began maximizing our spending on research to be able to combat these creatures. Eventually we created superweapons, from special jets and guns being capable of firing lasers or other unnatural weaponry, and then after reverse engineering some alien tech, we were able to create our own “monsters” to fight the gijinkas in the form of size-changing androids and mechs! Now having enough powerful weaponry, the United Nations banded together to create the Kaiju Global Defense Force (KGDF), a branch specialized in specifically combating these awesome characters, in 2017.

Now seventeen years later, we still continue to protect our cities from the invading Monster Girls. Yet now we realize that we aren’t fighting them alone, as some of these Gijinkas are actually good guys, or simply willing to protect the same patch of ground that everyone on Earth stands on. We call these girls “The Earth Defenders”. Now with several new allies, the Kaiju War has just begun to get more intense and MUCH hotter!

Welcome to “THE MONSTERVERSE”, a roleplay involving transforming kaiju gijinka based off famous Japanese Kaiju Tokusatsu movies and other giant monster movies of the west. Here you get the chance to play as your favorite characters from these films, whether they happen to be a kaiju, a mech, or even a human character. You can even add in your own originally created character if you’re the creative type! The playground is virtually the entire world across multiple sectors of Earth, whether from major cities where we can focus on the human and mech cast, to remote islands out at sea where we can find various kaiju going about their daily lives. This Roleplay will also provide multiple mission scenarios for the characters, as well as adding a healthy dose of story and episodic arcs to develop your characters as a whole.

BRIEF FACTION INFORMATION

Starting out as simply a minor branch of the United Nations and the Global Defense Force, the Kaiju Global Defense Force has become more important than ever. Now it's own separate branch since 2018, it is both the front and last defense line humanity has in keeping our cities safe. It creates mechanized android units to help match the power of the gijinka, creating veteran soldiers like Akane "Kiryu" Yashiro to Gipsy Danger, the latter being one of the leading generals in command. Along with the main branch of the Kaiju Defense Force, being responsible in the creation of Kiryu and other leading mechs it also has two sub branches:

The Pan Pacific Defense Corps (PPDC), or simply known as the Jaeger Program, is a sub-branch of the KGDF that patrols and protects the western hemisphere of any kaiju threats, mainly the Pacific Ocean. Currently overseen by Marshal Herc Hansen after the death of the original creator, Stacker Pentecost, this branch is known for their Jaeger units, androids that have been created by a pair of mentally-linked scientists. They were originally a response to the threat of the "Rift Kaiju", kaiju that came from deep beneath the pacific ocean from an ancient alien dimension known as “The Anteverse”. Despite them having destroyed various portals throughout the Pacific, there's still few that are still operational and need to be destroyed. The Jaegers are also used in combating non-rift kaiju when need be as well. These Jaeger Units include seasoned veterans like Lieutenant Gipsy Danger (In Action - Mark III), Striker Eureka (Deceased - MK V), Crimson Typhoon (Deceased - MK IV), Cherno Alpha (Deceased- MK I), and various others. More recently however, the PPDC had just released their newest models, the Mark 6s, which include Gipsy Avenger, Titan Redeemer, Saber Athena, and Guardian Bravo.

NERV is a special agency of the KGDF and one of the more unique sub-branches. Headed by Commander Gendo Ikari, this agency is mostly known for their special forces units known as Evangelions, which are cyborgs that have been molded by the blood of extraterrestrial beings known as "Angels" and mentally linked with their respected pilots.  While it occasionally helps out with more serious kaiju threats, it seems to hide a slightly greater purpose to it. Conspiracy theories had been made over the years, trying to figure out its true objective, only revealing something regarding “Impacts” and rumors stated that more of these “Angels” will bring their “divine reckoning over humanity”. NERV’s Evangelion units that are currently online include Evas Unit-00, Unit-01, Unit-02, and Unit-03, with some new units still in production as we speak...

The Kaiju Gijinka are a race of anthropomorphic humans that have the capabilities of turning into their respected skyscraper-sized kaiju. These characters aren’t just limited on Earth as some have been seen descending from the far reaches of space. Each gijinka is different and rarely do two exact copies exist together. In their human forms, they can be seen wearing fancy and bizarre clothing, alongside accessories such as bracelets and necklaces, and some still sport their biological body parts seen in their kaiju forms, which include horns, spines, crests and other unique characteristics. In fact, some of them can blend well enough to be virtually undetectable on a city street as long as they sport a reasonable disguise. Regardless, despite humanity's claim in booing every kaiju as an invasive threat, some of them secretly ally the KGDF or are at the very least tolerant of their presence as long as their units don’t get too close to their territories without their permission. In fact, some are fully committed in protecting Earth from hostile alien kaiju gijinka. There are 3 classifications in which they are classified into:

1). Earth Defender: Earth Defenders are kaiju that have been born on Earth and valiantly protects it from extraterrestrial threats. They usually tolerate humans to a certain degree but usually see them as a potential threat. Some of them are extremely territorial and won't invade human settlements unless they are provoked, mind-controlled, or chasing a hostile. Notable Kaiju include: Godzilla, Anguirus, Gamera, Mothra, and others.

2). Alien: These Gijinka have origins that don’t involve being on Earth, meaning they originate somewhere in space or from other dimensions. Most of them are hostile and most are controlled by hostile alien civilizations wanting to take over Earth, save for a few exceptions that is. They can be summoned by alien races such as the Xillian. Notable Kaiju include: King/Queen Ghidorah, Gigan, Megalon, (Rift Kaiju), SpaceGodzilla, Alien Baltan, Zetton, and others.

3). Mutant: These kaiju usually have origins from Earth, but do not bother in protecting their planet. Mutants are often seen randomly moving around and doing their own thing like fighting other kaiju, wrecking cities just for fun, or strictly guarding their territory. Occasionally they can team up with Earth Defenders and even the KGDF if they all have a common goal to achieve or a common enemy to eliminate. The Earth Defenders usually keep the mutants from ever overrunning the Earth, however if they are unchecked, these mutants are capable of destroying human civilization. Notable Kaiju include: Battra, Biollante, Destroyah, Irys, and others.

Generally you'll have the character have a human form and then a Super Armor for kaiju forms. For example, Gipsy Danger has an android form as a human, but also super armor in the form of the Gipsy Danger mech you see in Pacific Rim.

That's basically how it goes.

Then he heard about the Jaeger units that fought the Kaiju, and from that point he was determined to get to do it. So he enrolled, and worked as hard as he could to make it, and after enough work and time, in the year 2030, he made it. Then Ark was made...

Powers/Abilities: 
In his regular suit:
He can use the prongs on his arms as batons. Able to swing and spin them with alarming speed, he can even heat them to become able to cut and melt through most materials and metals.
His suit is agile and surprisingly flexible, but don't underestimate his strength, he has quite the arm.

Now, for Ark.
He stands at 48 meters, and can move.
The armaments on his shoulders act as nail guns, able to pierce through, or pin down pretty much anything.
Once this has happened, He uses his lengthy body and nitrogen tanks on his arms to either put the Kaiju in question into submission, or he can kill is by stretching it's body, suffocating it, or breaking it.

Other: 
He doesn't really have a defining song. Just imagine the heaviest metal music that you can.

Also for history, are you sure you cant elaborate on his anymore? I have a timeline up and he may have partook in say... considerings he's part of the PPDC, he may have fought the Rift Kaiju from Pacific Rim maybe? What do you think?

@Lmpkio I'm not what the impediment to just calling my kaiju cthulhu is, if she's able to be all but her in name. Like I said before, the "cthulhu" kaiju that's been posted (and not yet accepted iirc) has tentacles, uses the word "eldritch" once or twice... and that's about all that makes it like cthulhu.

Long and short: that's my pitch, you can take it or you can leave it, doesn't matter to me.

I don't think it will work out as a day-to-day playable character. However, that character is more suited to that of a boss-type character, say the main antagonist in a story arc. I could maybe see a Chuthulu-like arc if the RP ever gets far enough into the future. It'll be similar to the Rift Kaiju summoning in a sense, but with more Doctor Strange feels then say Guardians of the Galaxy if that makes sense.

But overall as a regular character... I'll have to pass on it unless you are willing to keep it in storage and make another character thats more playable currently. I'm not completely dissing the idea, as there is potential and that I think it can work at a later date as a more important antagonist character, but if you don't want to wait that long, then yeah... I can't at this time.

Personality: She is cheerful, friendly, inquisitive and woefully inexperienced. The android can't help but quietly reflect her creators obvious excitement that Orisa’s going to be a monster battling hero. The harsh realities of war have yet to reach the two young women and they are both still bright eyed and idealistic in their outlook. 

In battle she is a protector who is primarily concerned with the safety of the people she is defending. Defeating a monster comes secondary to the survival of every last human relying on her to protect them.

History: 
Orisa was created by child genius Efi Oladele as a replacement for the OR15 defense mechas in the wake of their destruction during the Kaiju Doomfist's attack on the African city of Numbani.  After the african sub branch had to bailed out of the situation by the greater GDF it was decided that it was necessary to replace their archaic human piloted defense system. The reason they had been so complacent was that, apart from that one incident with those prawns in Johannesburg, Africa did not see much in the way of alien invasions, kaiju attacks, etc. No one is really sure why this is.

Multiple projects were subsequently funded to replace the old system and, either surprisingly or unsurprisingly depending on your perspective, the creation of the child protege Efi and her peers at Numbani university where one of the more successful projects. By reusing an OR15 as the basis for their android’s superform they got a lot more work out of their budget than other groups and created Orisa, the quadruped defence android. After about a month of training and tests, the young android and her young creator have been shipped off to japan so that Orisa can train with some of the best and most experienced androids out there and perhaps get some real combat experience before they return back to africa to defend their home continent.

Powers/Abilities: 
Fusion Driver: Orisa's primary weapon is a large, triple barreled plasma machine gun.
Particle barrier: a unit on her wrist allows Orisa to project a large rectangular energy force field in front of herself. While it does prevent her from attacking the shield can be used to protect both orisa, her allies and civilians from attacks in a wide area. 
Horns: these massive energised spikes allow Orisa to perform powerful ramming and headbutt attacks
Graviton ball: a large specialised shot that, while it does basically no damage, will detonate in an impulse attack when it hits, knocking the target back.
Fortify: Orisa can briefly project a golden energy field across her entire body, massively improving her durability for a short time. 
Supercharger: Orisa can project a beam that temporarily boost the power levels of a friendly android. This can be either used increasing the effectiveness of their weapons and motor systems or to support an ally whose own power systems are failing them.

Orisa’s unique centaur build offers several advantages and a few drawbacks, it as relatively poor turning circle, particularly if fighting is done in streets, and she is less agile, however the 2 additional legs massively increase her straight line speed and her stability compared to biped androids. She has about twice the pushing power of a similarly sized creatures/androids, which allow her to push Kaiju out of populated areas before a fight begins.
