~@13org (FYR), @The Irish Tree, @GoddessOfNature~

The Sylph introduced herself as Celes. Her mischievous nature was clear as day yet she said something surprising. She decided to join the fledgling guild and undertake quests for it. Whether it was to widen her range of mischief or an honest reason to give a helping hand, Celes was not taking 'no' for an answer and so she, Freyr and Magnus returned to the guild, reaching it by nightfall.

They found the place seemingly empty, a large, lone silhouette in the darkness, but suddenly something shot out of the building and landed in front of the three guild memebers. It was a figure familiar to Freyr. It was Haley, the Siren from Bast and Freyr's quest yesterday. Her expression was one of panic and fear and she scrambled to speak. "Freyr!" She immediately recognized the Viera. "Thank the gods, you're here! There's an Order Hero inside the building right now. You need to do something!"

The guild had an Order Hero as one of its members but Haley should probably be forgiven for not knowing who was part of the guild.

The Harpy creature gave no reply to your words, the only response you received was a fast whirl of wind. It was not towards you nor was it even near you. You then heard voices and talking outside, the only sounds that could be heard in the silence of the night. Should you investigate, you would find your fellow but monstrous guild members. You recognize Freyr and Magnus but they had with them a girl of green hair that you did not know.

Also with them was a Harpy creature, likely the one verbally attacking at you earlier. She was speaking to them in a panic. Knowing the situation, she was probably warning them about you. But hopefully your guildmates would know better and clear the misunderstanding.

Hopefully.

"Whoa! You're quite the magician, aren't you mister?" The boy remarked with wonder at your brief magical show. "You also talk funny. You're really funny, mister."

"You haven't told me your name yet, have you?"
Bast Ragoczy

"Oh, I'm Absalom. Or Abe for short." The boy introduced himself. "What about you, mister? You must be pretty famous huh? Since you can do pretty magics. I'm sorry if we haven't heard of you. We don't get much news in the port. Lord Araghast and the priests don'rt really talk much and only the suicidal would attempt to make smalltalk with Lord Araghast. Though I'm pretty sure not even Lord Araghast knows much news about the outside world."

"Anyway, follow me, mister. It's been a month since Lord Araghast left so he's probably at the capital or somehow still on the way there." And so, the two of you began your walk of vengeance. You two soon exited Boreal Port inconspicuously. This deviation from your original quest appeared it was going to take a while so you likely will not be returning to the guild until tomorrow.

"Also, there's a river that we need to cross. If you have any magic that can help us cross it, we will save so much time." Absalom said. "Otherwise, we're going to have to go east and go through Sonarra."

Magnus gave a low, and deep sigh as he moved past Haley and stepped inside glumly. It wasn't anything worth getting so spooked over. After all, Marxello was a friend...albeit kind of a scary one. He'd heard plenty of horror stories about the Order...he didn't really understand why tensions had to be at such a point between races that paladins of faith became monster dropping, purifying cherry popping crusaders. At least Marxello was nice. Heck, he even seemed to have a Monster for a girlfriend too, so maybe he was more open-minded than most. But, Magnus wasn't in any real mood to explain why Marxello was okay to have in the building, and simply walked right on in.

Given how low his shoulders were hung as he walked with his back hunched in a very visible degree of "done with this", Magnus entered the guild building and promptly collapsed at a nearby table. He was...really not feeling it after that last quest. Sure, they got a new guild member but...he still didn't get at ALL what that last "job" was supposed to be. He honestly felt like a fool for being so scared of the nothing in the woods, but...man, Celes made some scary noises with the wind. He was however at the very least glad that nobody got hurt, barring both his and Freyr's pride.

Lifting his sullenly sunken head for a moment off the table, Magnus cleared his throat and said: "Um...Marxello is with us, Miss...He's from the Order, but he's a friend. I-I mean, as long as you don't do anything wrong. I...think." the Minotaur said, giving a somewhat cautious glance to Marxello. As a man, he was intimidating. As a human, he was huge. And as a warrior? Probably someone far beyond Magnus' caliber and meager training could hope to hold a candle to. But...that was just how heroes worked, right? Old story books he read used to talk about how monsters used to be basically cannon fodder for the Human Heroes from the last Demon Lord's time. Marxello would also probably feel that Magnus was staring for too long, with a curiously focused look that could be mistaken for a glare. Minotaurs just kinda looked angry. Especially when they had a natural inclination to be sporting two black scilera'd peepers if they happened to be the only male one in existence. Well, that he knew of.

Apparently, she wasn't interested in being able to talk to humans more safely, and had left the building. A quick hustle back to the nearest front-facing window revealed her just as she began talking to the crowd that had gathered outside... there weren't that many Harpy-type monsters around, and as her feathers seemed to indicate, she appeared to be a Siren. He wasn't quite sure, though... nor was he entirely sure about the green-haired girl. She did seem familiar in form, though... maybe a monster type he'd recognise at a closer distance.

Either way, the Harpy was probably passing on her issues with him for mistaken reasons. He'd best head downstairs and clear things up, then. Resheathing his blade, a short trip to the ground floor showed that the male Minotaur... what had his name been? Magnus, wasn't it? And a shrinking violet of a Minotaur, at that - even his, uh, glare, he assumed, wasn't quite that threatening, considering the tone of his words in general. He didn't seem overly confident in general... which, as a matter of fact, did offer some possible benefits...

Clapping gauntleted hands together, Mark strolled over to the table Magnus had sat down at, himself taking a seat as he removed his helmet and gave a fairly friendly smile. 'So, uh, I suppose you're showing interest in me of some sort or another. I guess first things first, is there any reason for me to assume you know why, out of all other monsters, you appear to be one of the few males in existence?'

@13org (FYR), [@13BCTheEntity]
Magnus' ears fell flat against his hair as he realized that he must have been looking at Marxello weird...oh no, did he think he was trouble? He hadn't meant anything by it, he was just...aaaaagh, this was turning out terrible. Worried that he was going to get beat up, Magnus gulped at Marxello's approach after the clap, palms getting a little sweaty.

Then the questions came. It...was a pretty good question at that. Why was Magnus male anyhow? He himself had absolutely no clue, and honestly he doubted his mating happy parents knew either. Clearing his throat and sitting up now that he was confident that Marxello wasn't going to punch him in the face, he said: "W-Well um...my parents didn't really know either. I just sort of...happened. Sorry if that answer is um...not really helpful. I'm the seventh child in my family though, so maybe the number seven has something to do with it? Freyr might know more though."

Looking over his shoulder, Magnus called out: "Hey, Freyr! Do you um...have any information on why you were born male and all? Marxello wanted to know, and I don't know." As he waited for Freyr's reply, Magnus in the meantime would fumble with his hands, a bit nervous at kind of being interrogated in a weird way by a member of the order. "H-Hey, Marxello, do you um...happen to like monsters? Mom always used to say Heroes of the Order were really...e-err, genocidal." he asked, unintentionally calling Marxello a genocidal maniac by saying that. Freezing up, Magnus suddenly started shivering and buried his head in his hands in shame. "Sorry! I-I-I didn't mean it like that, you just seem...really...nicer than what I would have expected..." he said, trying to correct his mistake. He wouldn't blame Marxello for being mad...heck, he kind of expected it.

Freyr

Freyr was a bit upset by the prank the sylph pulled on him, but he was honestly surprised when she said that she would like to join the guild. It didn't matter how many times Freyr tried to tell her that it wasn't a place for a child to be, she simply wouldn't take no for an answer. After some time, Freyr gave up in trying to convince her, so he simply let her follow them.

After stopping by a river to clean himself, he went back to the guild. Getting there, the first thing he heard was a rather familiar voice, and a bunch of indigo colored feathers flying to their direction. He had already seen those indigo feathers before... After it landed in front of them, he immediately recognized who it was. It was Haley, the harpy lady he met on the previous mission.

She looked incredibly panicked, talking something about an Order Hero inside the building, asking for help.

"Haley, please calm down! What happened? Order Hero? Which order hero? If he is a 'hero' then he is good, right?" Freyr said, extremely confused by what was happening. He had never heard about that 'Order' before, but Hero wasn't a strange word to him. People always said that heroes were always the good guys, right?

"Um...Marxello is with us, Miss...He's from the Order, but he's a friend. I-I mean, as long as you don't do anything wrong. I...think." Freyr heard Magnus saying.

"Oh, you meant him... He is from the guild. I promise you, he will do nothing to you as long as we are here. I don't know anything about his past, but I'm sure that he won't attack anyone without a good reason." Freyr said, inspecting Marxello. He really didn't know that man very well, he only knew that he was from the guild. Was he one of those types that hunted monsters? After what Haley said, he became a bit suspicious of him.

He silently watched as Marxello walked towards them, immediately going for Magnus, talking to him. The second he got nearby them, Freyr instinctively put himself between Haley, Celes and Marxello, protecting them from the man.

The conversation that followed, gave Freyr some hints why Haley was so afraid of the Order. Magnus apparently knew the order as well. He had said something about them being... genocidal.

After a few moments thinking, Magnus' voice interrupted his thoughts. He had asked him if he knew the reason why they were males. Apparently, Marxello had asked that same question to him.

"I'm sorry, I have no idea. I am simply born like this. I lived my entire life alone, so I really don't know. Female Vieras are not really... kind to males. They sees us as rivals. I would stand no change against an entire tribe of female Vieras, especially alone." Freyr replied, looking to Magnus and then Marxello.

"I'm sorry if I sound a bit rude... But can you explain yourself a bit regarding this... genocidal thing, Marxello?" Freyr asked, looking directly to the man. He wasn't even trying to hide, Marxello would immediately see his eyes studying him, and feel that Freyr didn't trust him a lot. Freyr himself had never heard about that 'Order' But if Haley was so panicked and afraid with that, surely there was something going on...

Bast Ragoczy

Bast heard as the boy spoke, asking if he was famous and talking about his magics. He said he was called Absalom, or Abe for short. Abe was quite the naïve and innocent boy. Apparently he didn't know that much about the world, he was just a child. He had a sword on his hands, was seeking blood and vengeance, but he was still only a child.

"Don't worry, Abe. I'm sure that this... Lord Araghast doesn't care that much about people other than himself..." Bast said, following the boy. He knew that following him would probably take a while, but it was worth it. He would finally do something interesting...

After following him for a while, Abe asked if he had some magic to help them cross the river.
After hearing that, Bast immediately made two cards appear on his hand, imbuing them with ice magic. He then handed the cards to the boy. They were slightly war to the touch, but they were surrounded with an incredibly cold air, it was so cold that you felt that if you held them close to your skin, you would probably freeze it.

"As long as you keep touching them, they won't hurt you. Throw them on the lake when you are ready to cross it. They will freeze the water, so we can simply walk across the river. Just be careful, don't drop them on your own body." Bast said, handing him the cards.

You were on your way to the guild headquarters' location, coming from Mahigan. While you were on your way, you encounter a lone human male on the road. The dark made it a bit hard to see him but he looked young with brown hair wearing attire fitting for an adventurer. He also looked tired and deep in thought but his thoughts were interrupted when he noticed you behind him.

"Oh hello!" He greeted, startled. "Uhh, good night- I mean, good evening!" You see his eyes keep flitting towards your equine lower body. "Uhh, I'm just... I'm just heading to the guild. It's uhh, newly-formed. The building isn't even repaired yet." He explained, even if you did not ask. "So uhh, yeah. I'm part of the guild and uhh, I've just returned from a request and uhh, I've got something for the whole guild."

"Erm, sorry for wasting your time and stuff." He apologized. "But you know, we could- we could travel- walk down the road until we have to part. That way, neither of us would be lonely... right?" The boy offered though you might want to tell him that you were part of the guild as well.

~@13org (FYR), @The Irish Tree, @BCTheEntity~

"Oh, you meant him... He is from the guild. I promise you, he will do nothing to you as long as we are here. I don't know anything about his past, but I'm sure that he won't attack anyone without a good reason."
Freyr

"What?! Really?" Haley said in disbelief. "Well... if you and Mister Minotaur over there says so...

She followed the group inside the building where Mark had asked Magnus and Freyr why they were males, the general knowledge being that there was no male monster in the world. Right after Magnus and Freyr had answered, Haley walked up to Mark with a serious expression on her face. "Hey. Apparently you're part of this guild and don't fly into bloodthirsty rage upon the sight of monsters. Freyr and the other guy also trust you. And for that, I apologize." She bowed. "But I'm keeping an eye on you, okay?"

"I'm sorry if I sound a bit rude... But can you explain yourself a bit regarding this... genocidal thing, Marxello?"
Freyr

"It's not the entire Order, Freyr." Haley spoke before Mark could. "The Order, as a whole, opposes monsters but their rules about it varies in each nation. However, we're the closest to Varjo and they're on a strict 'kill monsters on sight' rule. Heck, I heard they also attack angelic beings, regardless if they're corrupted or not." The Siren explained. "But I think they're just crazy since I've heard they attack pretty much anyone they don't like. I've also heard that they're the ones that pulled the Order into a war with the Dwarves. The unmonsterised ones, I mean."

Suddenly, the doors of the guild was opened and in came Bart. "Hey guys! I'm back! What're you doing here? We have a camp outside, you kno--" He stopped when the group appeared to be in the middle of a conversation. "Am I interrupting something?"

"Whoa, thanks mister! You sure have a lot of tricks up your sleeve!"

The two of you reach the river by nightfall. The body of water was pretty wide but with the magical cards, an icy bridge was made and allowing passage across it. Absalom was awestruck for a moment but continued on after, still dragging the large sword behind him. "Say mister. You've gone to a lot of places, right? What's it like? What kind of people do you meet? How many places are there? Have you met the king?" He began with a set of questions. "I'm just curious is all. I haven't been outside the port, you know?"

"Anyway, it won't be too long now, mister. The capital is just ahead."

Eilidh Chiron

Eilidh was trotting along the dirt track to the west of the guild house, heading east. Her saddle packs were laden with goods and supplies that she had been assigned to collect, being the member best suited to the transport of heavy loads. She didn't mind. It gave her a chance to enjoy the view of the country, and wildlife, as the path runs between two large woodlands.

It was on this eastbound road that she spotted another traveler, which was unusual on this road at this time of night. He was either heading to the guild, or was heading for Ambran. If the latter were true, he would be out too late, and she didn't see any camping gear among what he was carrying, so she ruled that out. Her gait sped up to a canter until she caught up to the traveler, who, as she got close, was younger than she had first thought, in fact, nary older than a boy!

The traveler gave an awkward greeting and explained what Eilidh had guessed; he was heading to the guild. She continued to listen to him, noticing as he did so that he kept staring at her horse half. She didn't mind so much. There were worse body parts to be caught staring at. Besides, Centaurs were rare in this part of the country. He finished with an offer to travel together, which forced a chuckle from the towering lady.

"I am also a member of the guild, so yes, we shall travel together. I assumed as much from you when I saw you. A young man with little equipment would be foolish to make the trek to Ambran in darkness, and there's only one other destination on this path. I am also returning from a task to transport supplies from Mahigan. It's not how I would choose to employ my skills but the ability to hunt and fight will not serve well to assist in repairing a building."

The Centaur chuckled at her own humor, then looked down at the boy.

"My name is Eilidh Chiron. I am a Centaur. What is your name, traveler?"

'No, Bart. In fact, you're just in time to hear me discuss something... important, shall we say, with the other members of the Guild,' Mark uttered. He hadn't thought he'd actually need to explain this, but since they were on the topic... well, again, it was a good chance for him to try and sway some of them to be purified by him. 'Just before that: Magnus, Freyr, I thank you for your assistance nonetheless. Ms. Siren-' For sure this time, she could clearly be nothing else. '-I appreciate that you're sensible enough to change your mind when given new information.

'Now, as for the would-be genocide aspects of the Order... well, this requires a bit of explaining,' he began, gesturing for anyone who hadn't yet taken a seat to do so. 'You see, as a general rule, the Order of the Chief God does not generally suggest that its adherents be cruel. Humans are largely encouraged to be friendly and supportive toward one another, and outliers such as Varjo apparently is aside, I believe the general consensus is that the same applies to most uncorrupted demihumans and angelic beings.

'Just... not to monsters, is all. It may help you to understand that, from the perspective of human beings, being raped is typically highly traumatising, and for most Order churches, the matter is worsened by the corrupting influence of demonic energy, which they perceive as turning the victims into sex-crazed lunatics much like their attackers. Not without due cause, mind. Hence, the Order in general tends to push for monster extermination. In my homeland, we've long made it a point to try and consider the viewpoint of mamono as well as humanity, but the Knights there have somewhat more pressing reasons to be concerned - monstergirls seem to breed only additional monstergirls, certain notable exceptions present; our best and brightest have come to the conclusion that, if left unchecked, this will result in a slow-burning, yet exponentially more urgent existential threat, to both humankind and monsterkind. With no other options, we too have therefore engaged in these acts of killing for our own protection, the logic being that, even if all mamono must die to achieve that goal, humans will at least live on.

'So, yes, I have killed monsters before,' Mark admitted solemnly, 'a great many of them. Some killings I have regretted, for their souls were vibrant despite what Varjo would call impenetrable darkness clouding them; others I have relished, for the monsters in question were vile even beyond what most would think when they heard the term. All were considered necessary at the time.' Now came the hard part: the convincing of these would-be allies that there was a better way after admitting to cold-blooded, self-serving murder.

'Recently, however, we have developed an alternate option,' he continued with only mild hesitation. 'A superior option, some might argue, and certainly better for the monster in question, considering the alternative in such a situation is death. Part of what makes monsters so dangerous to humans and demihumans alike is the capacity for demonic energy to feed on and corrupt spirit energy - human men become incubi as their spirit energy is fed off of and empowered in a vicious cycle of sorts, human women become monsters as their capacity to produce spirit energy at all is utterly annihilated, slower than that of men as it is in the first place.

'This new spell... well, the best way I can describe it is that it plays on the plus-minus relation between the two types of magic, and in doing so... reverses the usual dichotomy. Instead of demonic energy corrupting spirit energy, specifically-modified spirit energy infests a corrupted soul, rooting out demonic energy, reversing its polarity if you will, and converting it - from minus, to plus; corruption, to purity; monster... to human. At least on the level of the soul.'

Mark paused for a moment, letting his words sink in before he continued. 'So does the soul of a monster or other corrupt entity become pure. And in theory, safe for humans to interact with. The obvious benefits lie in the inability for corruption to spread further from the purified being, so long as they don't get corrupted all over again, though in that case, their souls are at least partially inoculated, limiting them to the state of incubus at worst. Especially useful for human women. Our theory runs that it would also proof the children of such beings from monsterisation - if demonic energy is what leads to the birth of more monsters, a pure soul would thus result in human children, or at least human boys if the girls are still born monstrous. So far, none of the evidence gathered suggests a failure of this theory.

'Syzsi, incidentally, is a good example of a purified monstergirl - she is less driven by lust than before, but her mind is otherwise intact and unaltered, at least to my knowledge. It's perfectly safe, and it doesn't change your way of thinking, it just... removes the thing making you consider sex so frequently. Admittedly, I don't know how frequently anybody here thinks about sex, but it is a factor, nonetheless. So...' He clapped his hands together once, punctuating his sentence as he considered what to say next.

'My offer to you guys is as follows: let me work the spell on you, remove the demonic energy from your souls, and make the world a slightly safer place for... well, everybody, honestly. If you'd rather I didn't, I understand. If you're horrified by the concept at its core, I understand. But just be aware... I will insist upon performing it sooner or later. Forcibly, if I have to, and know that I would really rather not resort to that. I don't think fracturing any relations by performing a metaphysical procedure without somebody's consent is what any of us here want.'

And that was that. How they reacted now, whether they complied or didn't, would be down to whether he'd sold the concept sufficiently. He supposed Bart wouldn't be so shocked, given that he knew of the spell already, the reason he'd visited Andrale to begin with; nevertheless, with a Minotaur, a Siren, and a Viera all potential sour points in his pitch, Mark would be prepared to defend himself if somebody decided to do something... stupid.

"You're part of the guild? Oh wow, welcome then. And I guess... I guess thanks for the supplies. We're... We're really low on the stuff."

"By the way, I'm Neil. I am a... nobody." The boy introduced himself. "Well... It's nice to meet you, Miss Chiron." Neil extended a hand for you to shake.

Whether you shook his hand or not, the two of you reach the guild in a few hours. The encampment in front of it was empty but you could hear talking from within the building. "Huh? Why are they all inside? Come on, Miss Chiron."

~@BCTheEntity~

"Well for your information, Mister Mark. I am NOT sex-crazed. I may be looking for a husband but I am NOT sex-crazed." Haley flatly declared. "Also, I hope you're alright with me thinking and knowing more about your little spell first. I don't want to explode into flame if you cast it on me but know this, if you try to forcibly cast it on me, I WILL fight back, you hear?" The Siren explicitly made her feelings known.

"Also, why are you here then? Why are you not taking this spell to the Order's higher-ups?" Haley then asked.

"That'd be dangerous." Bart interjected. "Look Mark, I don't know if you know but Varjo isn't exactly an outlier. King Caldeyron has massive influence in the Order's court and great friends with many royals and nobles." He explained. "That means no one will bat much of an eye if he invades and takes down nations that stands up to him so if he catches a whiff that there's an alternative solution besides exterminating monsters, he'll probably attack the nation parroting it."

Right after the explanation, the doors to the guild opened once again.

~@Silver Carrot, @BCTheEntity~

Neil, along with Eilidh, entered the dilapidated building and found his guildmates instantly. "Hey guys, we're back. What are you doing here? Also, meet Eilidh." Neil greeted and also introducing the newcomer Centaur.

"Oh hey Neil." Bart greeted back. "We were just talking about some stuff. How'd your quest go?"

"Oh yeah...!" Neil approached the group while motioning to Eilidh to come join them. "See here, our clients were actually some Dwarves in Valoras Woods." He started but the mention of Dwarves gave Bart a worried look. "They didn't have gold to pay us for the request but instead, they offered to repair our building to working condition. They told me to tell you if we want anything added to the building. They'll be coming tomorrow... morning I believe? We could tell them then." Neil explained the situation.

"I'm not sure if we should associate with Dwarves while being this close to Order territory." Bart said. "It's still a pretty good deal though since with the Dwarves, we could be using this building by tomorrow. What do you think guys? Also, we might as well talk about the additions we want in this building."

I wouldn't expect any less of you, ma'am- I don't think I caught your name, by the way,' Mark uttered to the Siren. Not that it'd make much difference, he added in his head - if he wanted her purified, she would be. And since he'd have to re-explain everything to the newly-arrived Centaur, and Neil her companion, he continued 'Anyone who has further questions, please do ask them.

'As for Varjo's situation, I'm not fool enough to trust every man and woman simply because they are of the Order,' he added, 'and I'd at least hope most nations aren't fool enough to copy their example by attacking even uncorrupted demihumans. Syszi and I did avoid an encounter with a small patrol of Dwarves yesterday, but I have no personal quarrel with them myself, especially if they aren't corrupted. If they'd like to help rebuild this place, let them.'

Eilidg shook his hand, smiling faintly yet betraying no emotion in her calm demeanour. Her handshake was very strong, yet not bone-crushingly so. As she looked back ahead, she answered. "It is nice to meet you, Neil. And I don't think you are a nobody. Not if you are a part of this Guild. You also seem to be a skilled traveller for your age, and do not look frail or weak either."

A few hours laqter, they reached the guild, and from the voices inside, many of the members who were out when she left on her journey were now returned, and she could meet them and introduce herself properly. They seemed to be discussing important matters, however, so after waving in greeting, Eilidh trotted over to the stores and unloaded her goods, before joining the others, saddle empty. The Centaur listened to what they were saying, before she decided to chip in;

"I bear no ill will towards Dwarves. If they want for the work, they will be given plenty of that, and at a fair pay. If they want for something more sinister, well, at least they'll be within sword's range which is preferable to having an enemy afar."

Freyr

Even though Haley said that it wasn't the entire order, Freyr still didn't trust Marxello. If the order really attacked anyone, then they were just crazy, just like Haley said. Even though that was bad, it wouldn't be as bad as the second option, that the order was really a cult that was trying to exterminate and kill all monsters... He kept silent. There was still too much to think about, he didn't like one bit about that Order talk.
Freyr was so lost on his own thoughts that he didn't perceive that Bartholomew had returned.

But then, it was time for Marxello to talk, and try to defend the Order. But for Freyr, it only made things worse...
All the 'logic' that Marxello was using to try to justify the Order's actions was simply absurd for Freyr. When he started talking about 'purifying' monsters, Freyr simply couldn't hold back his hostility towards the Order.
Haley apparently seemed to have similar opinions to Freyr,

"I kept quiet for way too long..." Freyr said, stepping forward after hearing all that.

"There is a reason why Vieras were always aggressive and hostile to humans, never letting anyone enter in their forest. Humans are vile creatures. They think that throwing away their instincts make them superior, better... But that couldn't be more wrong. Humans are unnecessarily complicated, greedy and incredibly aggressive, even to their own kind. Your kind walks towards its own destruction, Marxello. While every race has good and bad people, every human, every single human will stab you in the back given enough selfish motives. I met Caldeyron, I've seen him murder one of his own, in a cruel, cowardly manner, leaving his body to rot, without even giving him a proper burial, and all that just because he didn't agree with his opinions... I've seen the things your kind does." Freyr said, with a calm, but obviously angry tone. It was the first time that they were seeing him angry. They probably would be shocked, who knew that a person so kind and calm could become so fearsome when irritated. His eyes were just like spears piercing Marxello.

"Not all demi humans are unsatisfied with the way they are, Marxello... Who is the one that decides what is good and what is bad? Can you answer me this? Who is the divine being that holds this power?" Freyr asked, all the muscles on his body tensed up, clenching his fists so hard that his own nails were piercing his hands.

"Humans always try to control everything. To own everything. You talk about corruption, but what you humans are doing with the world around you is nothing more than just that. With the forests, with the animals, with other demi humans and even with your own kind... Now you are even threatening us? Telling that you will do it forcibly if you have to? Miss Haley definitely didn't try to rape you, me, Magnus or anyone here! Where is this sex-crazed lunatic you're talking about? Try to cast this spell on me, Marxello, and I promise you, that I will hunt you and kill you like the animal you humans are. I will treat you just like your kind treats mine." He continued, his eyes burning with anger.

"While the issue of corruption is undeniable, not every demi human is inherently evil or 'a sex-crazed lunatic'. And your order surely treats every single one as such. Before trying to simply eliminate monsters, you should try to understand them first, and not just shun away what you don't understand." Freyr said, taking a moment to calm himself down.

"I have nothing against you in particular, but I do have against your Order and the way how humans see the world, as their own personal sandbox, as their possession, as their background." Freyr said, unclenching his fists, letting several drops of blood fall on the ground, after that, a long and awkward silence followed.

"I-I'm sorry, Haley, Bartholomew, Magnus I lost my mind." He said, after several minutes, walking outside, but not before giving a long and piercing stare to Marxello.

Freyr's understanding of the world may be incomplete, as he spent most of his life inside the Vieras' forest. Some things he spoke were probably exaggerated, but there were definitely some true facts amongst all that. The Viera never liked humans that much. They didn't always resort to violence, but any human trying to enter their forest was immediately driven away.

Bast Ragoczy

Bast laughed hearing Absalom's excitement as he asked him about the places he has been.
"My boy, I've met kings, I've met prophets, nobles, slaves, fools, prophets, I've heard them, learned with them and taught them. I've saw palaces so big that they could touch the clouds, I've seen tunnels and caves so deep, that no light could reach it's end. I've been in many, many different places, met and heard many different people." Bast said, walking with the boy.

"And I still have much to learn. I didn't even barely scratched the surface... This world never stops surprising me. Absalom, I will give an advice now, and after you finish your quest a gift. Listen well, boy for what I have to say for you: Open your wings and fly, boy. Travel to different places, always seek knowledge, and you will find the greatest treasure a man can have." He said, patting the boy's head.

"Worry not about money, or any other material possession. For knowledge is the only thing you will ever need."

"But enough advices for now. You have an objective to accomplish, right?" Bast said, after he heard that the capital was nearby.

In a way, Magnus was now far more terrified of Marxello than before. And, Freyr's speech scared him all the better, for deep down he felt an ocean of sympathy for it. Humans...it all really did seem to stem from humans when it came to such issues. While it was true that there were monsters that did things like Marxello said, he'd read how it had been before...monsters killed for sport, for glory and gold, some of which had never wronged man, simply been a hideous obstacle in the way of what they deemed theirs. Holding his head in his hands, Magnus did his best not to just...break down here. It was terrifying, honestly. Looking up at Marxello for a brief moment, Magnus hurriedly excused himself from the table, stumbling on the foot of his chair and nearly ramming his kneecap into the floorboard. Taking a quiet, deep breath, he tried to calm himself, doing his best not to show anger, or fear, or anything else that was swirling in the Hodge-Podge of emotions welling in his chest.

In his swaying to emotion and desperate attempt to escape from the situation and awkward silence surrounding the table, Magnus had scarcely realized that a new, or perhaps she'd been there and he was away at the time, guildmate. Giving the new (to him) centaur girl a light wave, Magnus quickly bade farewell to the awkward table before figuring that it'd ironically be less awkward trying to talk to the man who stormed out. hurriedly following after Freyr, Magnus was hesitant to say anything, but in his concern, as well as lack of anything else coming to mind, he asked: "A-Are you alright? Your hands are bleeding...a-and you seemed really mad back there."

"Well, that was unexpected." Bart sighed before turning to Neil. "Hey Neil, mind talking to the two? Tell them that what should be told and... to grab some shuteye for the next day? I think we all could use some rest to calm ourselves down. Eilidh, mind joining him? I need to be alone with Mark" He also told the Centaur.

Neil nodded and followed the two male monsters outside along with the Siren Haley and Bart now turned to Mark. "Mark... Hey, I get that you're trying to save the world but... You know you can do better than that, right? I mean, I'm no people's person by a longshot but even I know that you're kiiind of being pushy. Especially when it comes to your spell... and the reputation of your allegiance."

"Besides, you're part of this Guild now. You gotta learn to get along with your mates 'cause they're the only ones you can rely on when things get very real. And you don't want your back exposed to someone you know you don't trust." Bart added. "Now then, get some sleep. We have work to do tomorrow."

~@13org, @The Irish Tree~

Neil and Haley followed the two of you outside and into the camp.

"Hey Freyr, Magnus." The boy greeted you. "You really let it out back there, didn't you Freyr?" He sighed. "Sure it was bad but I suppose the truth came out at least. No need to waste anymore effort keeping things and feelings concealed." Neil sighed again. "...Or I could be wrong and this will spiral out of control. Oh man, I hope I'm very, completely wrong." He chuckled sheepishly.

"What I want to know is: Why did your guild master invite a freaking Order Hero while at the same time inviting monsters?" Haley was the next to speak. "Doesn't he know that the Order doesn't exactly like monsters?"

"I heard that Mark was different according to Bart." Neil answered. "I mean, he did come here with a... a lizard girl."

"Really? How was she? And where is she now?"

"I... never really have gotten the chance to know her. I do know that she's pretty clingy to Mark so it's a little surprising that she's not with him."

"Huh..." The Siren had a confused look on her face. "...I actually wanted to say that I wanna join your little guild when... all that happened." Haley began another topic, one that surprised Neil. "I-I still want to join, you know? But... not right now. I mean, I still have things to do. I'll come back tomorrow to sort all of this out, okay?"

And with that, the Siren flew away and it was time for the guild to prepare for the following day.

---THE NEXT DAY---

~Everyone~

The next morning had arrived and you all wake up to Neil and Bart looking over the request board. "Oh, good morning everyone." Bart greeted all of you.

Meanwhile, Neil put up a weak smile and he looked real tired despite the day barely beginning. "It's a good thing Eilidh brought some supplies or else we'd have nothing to eat."

"However, that means we're still a bit strapped considering supplies." Bart proudly said. "Say, how much did we earn yesterday?"

{INCOME YESTERDAY}
{@13org (FYR) & @The Irish Tree: 0 G}
{@BCTheEntity: 150 G}

It was up to the guild members if they wish to share their reward with the guild or keep it for themselves.

"Here are the requests available, everybody." Bart told everyone. "Also has anyone seen Bast? I don't think I saw him here yesterday."

The dawn breaked but you and Absalom still continued onward to the Varjan capital. The boy did not appear tired and his cheerful demeanor still radiant as ever.

However, you two then spot a camp in the horizon that bore a banner Absalom recognized. "That banner! I know that banner! It's of Lord Araghast's!" The boy cried out before hastening to the camp with no hesitation. The action was questionable but you could only follow the boy and his enthusiasm.

Upon arrival, the two of you were greeted by a group of warriors. They were large and well-armored though if they were of the Order, they certainly did not subscribe to holy and inspiring appearances encouraged by the Order. "Do you have business here?" The foremost warrior asked, his voice deep and dark.

Absalom was too distracted to speak, his eyes searching the camp for his target leaving you to do the talking.

Eilidh Chiron

Eilidh waved back at Magnus as the Minotaur left, curious. He looked strong, but at the same time did not act in the way befitting a warrior. Shortly after He left with the Viera, the boy she had traveled with was asked to go and talk to them, and she was also asked. Nodding in agreement, Eilidh trotted out behind Neil and Haley, a siren whom she had also not talked to yet. After the Siren left, Eilidh decided to throw her lot in.

"Upbringing and beliefs are not what defines a person," she spoke coolly and betraying little emotion in her face, almost in a zen-like state. "I have met many men like that soldier, though I have never actually had a conversation with an Order soldier. Our blades usually do the talking for us. The ex-Order member in our ranks, however, I believe is honorable and means well. He is still shackled to the doctrines of his upbringing. They will come loose in time. I bear no ill thought to the human race as a whole. I have befriended many of them in my travels, and like every race, they are composed of good and bad people. It is true they are a race bred in order to take from others, just as Centaurs are bred to hunt and fight, but due to their nature, they are weaker. No human has ever taken land or possessions from a Centaur unless by marriage, not for lack of trying."

@PaulHaynek@13org@The Irish Tree

The next morning, Eilidh rose from her sleeping mat, and yawned and stretched, many bones popping and creaking as she did so. She'd need some gentle exercise soon. Hopefully there was another task required of her that involved travelling.

Also she needed to bathe. She had been forced to sleep in her clothes since she got here, and was forbidden to sleep nude as was the custom of Centaurs. Apparently, Bart, red in the face, had also claimed the size of her large breasts had something to do with it. She didn't quite understand, but humans had funny rules about clothing and modesty, and it didn't hurt that much to respect them. It didn't stop her from hating that she was wearing the same thing she had traveled in, yesterday, and the dirt and sweat that came with that.

After her bath and changing into clean clothes, she ventured to the request board and silently smiled and bowed a greeting to the two, before trotting over and reading the board. The praise directed at her did not go unnoticed, and her smile grew as she read the available quests. Having finished, she turned to them both.

"I would like to take the quest of escorting Maria Corazon to safety, if I may. I am need of exercise and I love to travel. Standing guard ready to fight or entertain would ill suit me on this morn, and I know little of fashion or medicines."

Freyr

It was not only the order... All humans were like that... Even if it wasn't all humans, even if good humans still existed, it was getting more and more rare... They abandoned the purity of the forest, of the earth that they were born into and got corrupted... Greed, violence... They were all the same... That conversation only made Freyr feel even more distant from humans. The truth was that even if he was, and somehow, still is curious about the humans, the second he resolved to leave the forest, the moment he entered a city... He felt a bit... distant... Like if he didn't belong there. Everything was different, the values, what they considered important... customs...

"A-Are you alright? Your hands are bleeding...a-and you seemed really mad back there." a voice surprised him, making him turn his head towards Magnus, interrupting his own thoughts.

"Y-yes, Magnus... I am." Freyr said, with a long sigh after looking to his hands and seeing the decent wounds that his claws opened on his hands.

"It's just... Nevermind. It's not something you should be worried with. Humans and Vieras have a... long story. We tolerate humans, but we never liked them. I was different... I thought that the humans weren't all bad but... I think I was wrong. Every day, it gets harder and harder to find pure, innocent humans, that have not been corrupted..." He said, pressing his hands against each other, to staunch the bleeding.

Just after he said that, another two new additions arrived. Neil and Haley. Probably they were also preoccupied with him. After everything that he said... Certainly it should have been surprising to see someone as quiet as Freyr to say all that....

"You really let it out back there, didn't you Freyr?" Neil said, proceeding to say that it wasn't good to keep feeling concealed. The boy's words brought a slight smile to Freyr's face.

The thing that Haley said about wanting to join the guild surprised Freyr. He had mixed feelings about that. He was happy, but at the same time, worried about Marxello and if Haley decided to let him perform that corrupting spell on her.

But even after Haley said all that and flew away, Neil's words still brought a smile to his face.

Freyr gently stroked the boy's head, looking at him with a discreet smile on his face.
"Don't worry, Neil... It won't get out of control." He said, looking at the boy with a kind and warm smile.
"It's comforting to be reminded that there are still some pure and kind humans..." He continued.

After a brief while, he realized that he was stroking the boy's head and the wound on his hand wasn't completely staunched, making quickly him pull back his hand.
"I'm... sorry for that. The blood on my hands, I mean..." He said, pressing his hands against each other again.

"Upbringing and beliefs are not what defines a person," An unfamiliar voice said, approaching them. It was Eilidh, a centauress that had just entered the guild.

Her words were true, but the issue was much deeper than that. Humans were greedy by nature. They lived to take from others, even from their own. No honor, no nothing... They only knew how to take things and corrupt them to their own liking. They killed the earth without even thinking twice...

"Centaurs are very honorable warriors. They respect others, respect the earth. Humans on the other hand... I know that there are still good and pure humans, after all, it was exactly because of this thought that I decided to leave the forest, but its getting harder and harder to find those... Humans are greedy, dishonorable and evil. Few are the ones that can resist the corruption that they preach." Freyr said, with a sad tone to his voice.

"Thank you for your concern. All of you, Neil, Eilidh, Magnus... I'm sorry for my outburst, but I simply couldn't keep quiet after hearing all that."

"I promise I would never resort to violence without a very good reason. Just like Haley said though, I will fight back if he ever tries to force that spell on any one of us, demi humans." Freyr said, with a very serious tone.

"Vieras never had a good relationship with humans. We're simply too different. Our values, our customs... We tolerated humans, but we never liked them. I got out of the forest because I felt curious about them. I felt like they surely couldn't be as bad as the stories said. But sometimes I wonder if I'm really right... Humans walk a path that lead only to destruction. Not only theirs, but to everyone else as well..." he said, with a worried tone.

After a good bath, having taken care of his hands and a good night of sleep, Freyr was feeling a bit better. Thoughts about the things that happened the other day and Marxello still lingered on his mind, but he decided to try his best to not think about that.

The requests for that day weren't that interesting for Freyr. Conflicts caused by humans, resulting only on unnecessary deaths, something about clothes (which Freyr himself didn't wear that much...), a mysterious request about a shrine and a request to entertain the dwarves. He wasn't interested in any of those, saving for one...

'Grass Roots'. The request was about a local apothecary testing a new anaesthetic called 'Huwana'. Freyr was very knowledgeable about herbs, so that surely was something that he could be useful for.

But there was one thing that Bart said that caught Freyr by surprise... He said that they were low on supplies, and asked how much they have earned the other day...
Last day's mission was... a prank. They got absolutely nothing for it, saving for their wounded pride, of course...

"I... We didn't get anything, Bart. Last day's mission was a prank pulled by a certain mischievous little sylph..." He said, searching for Celes with his eyes.

"I know some things about herbs and poisons... I think I'll choose the one about the apothecary. I'm sure that I will be able to help." He said, trying to make up for the last day's mission.

Bast Ragoczy

After a good time walking, they saw a camp on the horizon. Immediately upon seeing its banner, the boy said, running towards the camp even before Bast could say anything.

"That banner! I know that banner! It's of Lord Araghast's!" The boy said, before going towards the camp.

Right on the entrance, they met a group of well armored warriors. Their armor certainly wasn't anything like those of a crusader or a holy knight, instead a dark thing certainly designed to inspire fear.

"This will be interesting..." Bast thought to himself as the warriors asked what business they had there. Absalom was too busy, sweeping the camp with his eyes, searching for his target, so Bast would have to take care of the talking.

"We're here to talk with Lord Araghast. We have some... rather personal matters to discuss with him regarding Boreal Port... Right, Absalom?" Bast asked, with a treacherous smile on his face.

"Surely its something he will be interested in knowing. A message from someone from that village, entitled specifically for him. We've came here to deliver it." Bast said, opening his arms, still with his unsettling smile.

Love Your Neighbor
~@Silver Carrot~

You reach the farmhouse of the Corazon family in the outskirts of Sonarra at midday. There were little to no crops in the fields but that was probably because you could see the people, probably the family, packing up stuff and moving them outside.

An old lady sat in the porch sobbing with a young woman beside her. "Tahan na, mama. Tahan na. Huwag ka mag-alala. Magkikita tayo muli."

Another young woman, after placing a box on the ground, noticed you. "Ah, you must be from the new guild. You are very brave for coming here as a monster. But we are glad that you are a mighty monster." She greeted you. The woman had light brown skin and wore a simple dress fit for a commoner. In fact, the people here all had brown skin and dressed in commoner attire. "Mama, papa. Narito na yung mga tutulong sa atin." She called her parents who all came to meet you.

An old man with a white beard, probably the father, with a small box on his hands nodded at you. "Maraming salamat. My family will be indebted to you... Forgive my Common Tongue." He said before resuming his activity.

"I am Maria Corazon." The woman introduced herself. "Great and terrible things are happening. A revolution is coming. Sonarra will be free from Varjo at last." She explained. "My family is headed for the hills but my sister has to flee. She is not ready for revolution. The Varjan army has an unfortunate way of treating young women." Maria took a glance at her sister, the one comforting the old woman who was probably the mother. "We are sending her to work for a kind man in Boreal Port."

"And that is what I ask of you. To escort her to Boreal Port safely. Will you do that for us, Miss Centaur?"

"Hey Freyr, let me come with you. I know you're not the biggest fan of humans but you know..."

And the two of you were off and onwards to Ambran. The trip was relatively easy and not much activity. Only riders and wagons passed by, increasing in number the closer you got to Ambran. Though, you noticed Neil looking at the landscape with wonder.

The walk was silent for a while before Neil spoke. "So you're a... Viera." He started. "I'm... I haven't really met any monsters in my life so... this is quite the experience, you know? I mean, on the first day there was a lot of monsters but I think you know that they're gone now. Before I could know them properly. We still have Eilidh though. Here's to hoping that she stays."

"So uhh, do you mind telling me about Vieras? I really would like to know about your kind. It's... It's obvious that you're not- you're not the run-of-the-mill kind of monsters." He then asked. "And while you're at it, do you know anything about Centaurs?"

Bast Ragoczy

"Then let me hear this message and I shall deliver it to him." The Varjan Warrior replied. "And you need to hand over some compensation too for consuming some of Lord Araghast's and his forces' time for your message."

But before you could respond to that, Absalom bolted into the camp though not unnoticed. "Hey! Where are you going?" The Varjan Warrior yelled which alerted the entire camp. "Someone stop him!" The camp mobilized to put to catch the boy with the large sword. They mostly ignored you though, fortunately, allowing you to watch the commotion unfold without any impediment.

None of the Varjan Warriors had caught the boy before he found his target. You find Absalom staring down a particularly large warrior with far bulkier armor than anyone in the camp. His dark visage stared back at the boy betraying no emotion. When his warriors approached, he raised his hand to stop them. "I take it that I am the one you're looking for?" He asked, his voice menacing.

"You... you destroyed my village. Killed my family. Plundered it. Pillaged it." Absalom muttered, his face growing red with rage and tears on his eyes. "It was your job to protect Boreal Port! WE TRUSTED YOU! GAVE YOU EVERYTHING YOU ASKED FOR! FOLLOWED YOUR EVERY WHIM!" The boy cried out, seething with anger. "Why? ...I don't need to know why, I only need to kill you and all of your warriors..."

"So you want vengeance." Araghast coldly replied. "Very well. Let us settle this with a duel to the death. If you win, my warriors will all let themselves be butchered by that greatsword of yours. If I win, well... you die." He proposed.

Before you could say a word of protest, Absalom nodded. "I accept." The boy then looked at you. "Mister, I know that you offered me help. But I need to do this--"

He stopped when two huge hands grabbed hold of his head. Hands that belonged to Araghast. Hands that twisted the boy's neck hard enough that it turned around. Without a word and with only a look of surprise on his face, Absalom fell to the ground dead. "That concludes our duel." Araghast gave the newly-deceased boy some parting words.

The Varjan Warlord then noticed you. "Hmm? And who might you be?" Once he asked that question, you caught the attention of the entire camp.

You arrive at the guild a bit late than intended. Perhaps you had forgotten about it or perhaps you had more important businesses to attend to. But now, you were there and it is better late than never, right?

The guild building was in a state of heavy disrepair and decay but you did spot a group of figures doing work upon it, likely repairs. Getting a closer look, you notice that they were Dwarves. The short but stout creatures were known for their engineering and building skills so it was probably a boon that they were the ones repairing the guild building.

The Dwarves mostly ignored your presence and continued their work. Who did notice you was someone familiar. "Maria? Is that you? Hey! Welcome!" Your inviter, Bartholomew Barker, eagerly greeted you. "You're a little late but it's great that you're here." Looking at the busy Dwarves, Bart continued. "We've already started, you know? And one of the requests had this for a reward. Not bad, right?"

"The others have already undertaken their quests for the day. You can grab one for today if you'd like. Or you can join me in supervising our repairmen." Bart said. "Might I recommend 'Dragon's Dressmaker'? I've got a feeling we're going to get something good from that quest."

Eilidh Chiron

Having gotten a good deal of exercise on the journey there, Eilidh's mood was greatly improved when she arrived at the Corazon farm. She wasn't surprised to see a poor crop seeing as how the farm was being evacuated, but it was a sad sight nonetheless. She trotted up to the family and waved as she did so.

She bowed and smiled at their comments about her being mighty. "I am honoured by your kind words but I fear not for my fate as a monster. After all, I am here to aid you in your own plight." She repeated the bow for Maria's parents. "Speak whichever tongue you find comfortable. I only regret that I cannot speak it with you. I'm happy to be of service to those who need it."

When Maria began her story, Eilidh listened, smile replaced with a stone mask of impassiveness. "Revolutions are nasty business. No matter the reason thay start, they always bring out the very worst of a human's soul, who might yesterday have been the most kind, gentle trader ever known, but today is stealing, hurting, destroying and screaming like everybody else. I will locate your sister, and she will travel under my protection to Boreal Port."

Maria was nervously making her way towards the guild's building, Walking pasted the dwarves working on the decaying building keeping to herself for the most part. She was too shy talking to the short people finding them to be loud and honest which meant their was a chance of her feelings getting hurt, Her eyes looking at the ground not wanting any attention form them. Her head peeking up when she heard the voice of a familiar person.

"Hello...Mr.Bart, How are you today?" Maria said looking up at the human shyly rubbing her mouth with a finger, Wearing a white frilly looking dress that was tightly fitted around her curvy body. Her hair long and flowing the length being up against her lower back. "Dragon's Dressmaker?...Sounds interesting..what is that about?" She asked him rising a fluffy brow at him.

"Thank you, Miss Centaur." Maria bowed. "The payment is with my sister. She will give it to you once you reach Boreal Port. The man she will be working for is married to a snake woman. I believe they own a cake shop there."

Maria then went over to her sister, the girl who was comforting the old woman. "Isabella, alika. Kailangan mo ng umalis."

"Isabella, mag-ingat ka, anak ko! Mag-ingat ka!" The old woman wailed as Isabella parted from her.

"Babaeng Kabayo. Come. Come with me. Over here." Isabella lead you to a stagecoach with four horses on it. "My brother has given us this stagecoach. These are good horses." She said as she embarked on the driver seat. "Please handle anything that will endanger us, Miss Centaur. There are some weapons over there you can use." Aboard the stage coach was a couple of bows, a whole crate of arrows and some three swords. "It is illegal to leave Varjan territories but only when it is enforced. I hope we do not encounter any of the regular army."

And with that, the three of you were away. Unfortunately, taking the main road from Sonarra to Boreal Port may have been a bad idea as you two run into a couple of large, armored figures on horseback. "Oh gods, Hell Knights. Two of them too." Isabella muttered to you. "What do we do?"

The stagecoach was forced to stop when one of the Hell Knights rode up and placed himself in its way. "Halt, where are you--" He then noticed you and immediately readied his lance. "A monster?! DIE!" He yelled as he charged you.

"Hello...Mr.Bart, How are you today? Dragon's Dressmaker?...Sounds interesting..what is that about?"
Maria Falena

"Oh here, it says..." Bart then looked at the request. "It looks like it's requesting three women with a taste of fashion. Right now, you and Eilidh are the only girls here in this guild and Eilidh has already left. However, I am fully confident that you are more than capable of handling this. It's even promising a greater reward than usual." The guild master explained to you. "It's also asking you to go to Tulisan Forest first."

"It's just a suggestion though. You can choose another quest if you'd like."
