Love Your Neighbor
~@Silver Carrot~

It did not take long for the stagecoach to reach Boreal Port. The smell of seawater invades your noses. The calm, peaceful atmosphere of the port town made the earlier skirmish in the Varjan territories seem so long ago and so far away. Most of the civilians you encountered, both man and monster, raised an eyebrow at your wounds. "Salamat sa langit. Maraming salamat sa langit." Isabella sighed.

She then stopped the stagecoach in front of a closed bakeshop and turned to her escort. "Thank you, Miss Centaur. Me and my family will never forget this." She then pulled out a small pouch. "Here, your reward. I believe there is one-hundred and fifty gold in it. Again, I am sorry if it is too small of a reward." She then added. "I believe there is a Dark Priest here who is very nice. Maybe you can ask her to take a look at your wounds."

She then disembarked the stagecoach and faced the two of you for one last time. "Again, I thank you both. Do you think we will see each other again?"

Whatever your answer was, your quest was done. You were free to return to the guild or explore the port town a bit. Perhaps see this Dark Priest?

After Arletta left, you were alone for a moment. Only a moment as a new companion decided to join. One of the Dwarves but well-armored unlike the rest with a helmet that sported a pair of impressive avian wings. He appeared to be the Dwarven group's leader. "Your guild's filled with pretty ones, ain't it?" He greeted you with a question.

He had two mugs of strong-smelling ale and handed one to you. "Funny, they're the ones who reduced our race to nothing and yet here we are, doing favors for 'em. Fate likes to screw us around, don't it?" He remarked before taking a swig of the alcohol drink. "I remember when they first appeared. New Demon Lord and all that. The lads were all over them once they realized they were harmless. Gave most of our women that demon energy to make 'em prettier. Not that the women complained though, they loved it. It was a wee bit too late when they they realized they birthed no males." The Dwarf then took another swig.

"Which brings me to the question, why are you male?" The Dwarf then asked. "I know you ain't human. Probably a Minotaur from the looks of it but I haven't seen a male Minotaur from the pre-Transformation days. I haven't lived that long."

You reach the Shrine of Eros at late midday. Your trip was uneventful, letting you enjoy the quiet and serene scenery if you so chose.

Upon reaching the shrine-town, you notice that it was... quite dedicated to their goddess. While it looked like an ordinary town, most of the colors you see were shades of pink and red. However, the large temple of the Goddess of Love was more elegant with its white and gold colors. Apsaras, Cupids and Houris along with humans walked the streets but no other monsters though. Then you realize that perhaps, maybe...

"You don't belong here." A stern female voice called out to you. You turn around and see a woman clad in red-colored armor. Her long blonde hair reached down to her back, her skin was a fair white and her eyes were blue. "...Well not normally anyway. The Order thinks this is still within their territory and can get a little mad if they see monster visitors." She said. "It's a good thing they're not here today. I already have enough on my plate as it is."

"I suppose you're from the new guild right? It's not usual for Dullahans, you'reaDullahanright?, to go to Eros for blessings. Come, follow me." The woman then led you across the shrine town, heading north. "I know I said in the request that this'll be easy but I wanna know what you can do. Just in case things get... hairy. What we're dealing with is unpredictable after all. I hope you're okay with that."

"I'm Valerie by the way. Captain of the Shrine Guard and a Valkyrie in service to the Goddess of Love. And you are?"

Herbal Medicine
~@13org (FYR)~

Neil was the first to inhale a whiff and he immediately coughed. Without a word, he immediately exited the building and leaving you alone with Darren. "Well... I suppose it's not for the sensitive types." The alchemist remarked. And you were the next to inhale. The fragrance indeed smelled nice but the pain-killing effects was yet to show itself. "It's a pure mellow high, isn't it?" You heard Darren add. "But I do get concerned about the monsters."

"Yeah, I mean..." It was then your vision betrayed you and reality began warping all around. Your newly-formed surroundings was filled with a green haze and they changed so rapidly that it was hard to gaze at them without feeling dizzy. "I'm sure they're nothing serious, but ah... I never let them get too near. Anyway, to answer your questions--" Those were Darren's last words before you were left alone in a foggy forest, surrounded by grasses and a couple of trees.

You then heard something sprout behind you. It was a very strange, seemingly-sentient plant that was as tall as you and bounced in a rhythm. It did nothing but look at you for a few moments before it 'shot' a large green pea at you from its 'mouth'. The seed projectile hit with blunt force akin to being punched. The hostile plant shot some more and you noticed that more of them have popped from the soil and were equally hostile.

However, you also noticed that you had your signature weapons on your hands. You must defend yourself!

"Retreat at once. I wish not to partake on your petty squabbles and your barbaric, meaningless bloodshed. Continue, and you I shall repay you in the same coin."
Bast Ragoczy

The summoning of your magical and dangerous cards and the merciless burning of one of the Varjan Warriors have caught the attention of Lord Araghast again who listened to your words. He stood at the foremost since the other Varjans were rightly wary of the spinning cards that surrounded and protected you. Their shields were raised but could that protect them from such magical power?

The Varjan Warlord let out a dark laugh when you finished. "Very well, magician. You are free to go." He said. The declaration made the other warriors lower their guard a bit and made a gap for you to exit through. "But let us not kid ourselves. You WILL partake on our petty squabbles and our barbaric, meaningless bloodshed. Sooner or later. After all, did you not just participate in it in your 'exception'? Hehe, I look forward to your next 'exception', magician."

"It is the way of the world. Running from it will only bring pain but embracing it will bring salvation." Araghast said as he and the other Varjan Warriors waited for you to make your leave.

Eilidh sighed and took in the rough beauty of a fishing town. The smell of salt and fish was making her hungry, though. She turned to face Isabella as she was talking, and thanked her as she took the pouch and tied it to her belt. "I certainly hope so," she replied in answer to her charge's question, then bowed. "Until that day, goodbye."

Eilidh trotted through the town waving away concern from any human or monster that stopped her. Yes she will visit the Dark Priest. No, she didn't need help getting there. She'd like to eat first. After purchasing a meal of fresh fish with a little of the gold, only then did she decide to pay a visit to the Dark Priest about her wound. Locating her house, she knocked on the door.

Magnus listened attentively to Arletta's account, though he still felt a little saddened by the lack of any news of the other two. Keeping his chin up though, Magnus put on a smile for her, since...well, he didn't want her to feel bummed out after just getting back. Once she went to leave and asked if he had things under control, Magnus gave her a thumbs up, steam venting out his nose. "No worries! I promise nobody'll break anything in the guild...w-well, except if they need to for the reconstructing and all, but nothing important. Good luck Arletta, I'm glad that your friend is doing good now."

Magnus just watched her leave, getting back to watching over the dwarves working from his seat as one of them came to sit beside him. A bit taken aback by the question of "pretty ones", Magnus had a feeling that he meant the girls. Scratching the back of his head, Magnus' cheeks flared red a bit. "W-Well, yeah...they all do look very...pretty." he replied, taking a small sip of the ale and then hastily realizing that he hated alcohol and put it down, trying to hide the look of disgust on his face to not offend his dwarven conversation mate. It was...a little bit ironic how the dwarves were here, since he'd heard that normally they aren't so friendly to humans or monsters, depending on where they were from. And then, the familiar question was asked to Magnus of: "Why is he male?". Looking at the ale mug gripped in his hand, Magnus looked at his reflection a bit before saying: "Well...I really don't have a clue. I-I mean...I was just born, you know? Maybe I'm a one in a billion chance of happening, or maybe my parents did something special, but...I really don't know. Sorry."

"If you are indeed sent by a Mr. Bart, then yes, I am your employer." the woman said, before stepping out of the mist to let Maria look at her. Her skin was nearly as pale as the mist itself, contrasted by her black hair, as well as the scales coating her arms and legs, covering them in the same black armoring her hands possessed. Connected to the sides of her arms were strange leathery membranes that seemed folded up...wings, perhaps? In addition to that, a long black reptilian tail swayed slightly in the breeze, ears that resembled a great horned owl's fanned up at the sides of her head and peering over her scalp. "I am Nephele Megalos the Third, and it is an honor to meet you." she said, before offering Maria a respectful bow. Despite the presumably pride carried in being a "Anything the Third", she was dressed in literal rags, very much so looking like a beggar. If not for her rather cleanly groomed exterior, one could mistake her for a bum entirely. Not missing a beat, the woman said: "You are naturally free to refuse my job if you so choose...but I would hate for you to have wasted your time. If you wish, before I ask you to work, we can dine at my home. It must have been quite a long walk."

Nephele seemed rather strange, given that it wasn't really clear on what she was, what she was doing here, or what she even wanted done...but one could assume that she bore no ill will to Maria, given how willing she was to step out of the fog. "Please do make your choice soon though...if I'm to be stuck in rags here still, I'd rather it be in my home. The Fog will not last long if I don't sustain it."

Maria's eyes were filled with surprise seeing the woman in full view, Bowing quickly feeling a bit embarrassed by her questions. "Sorry..I am wanting to help you with this job.." She said standing back up straight, Rubbing the back of her fluffy head feeling bad about what the girl was wearing. "Hello my name is...Maria" She said softly her hands now placed in front of her, "Yes let us go..to your home" She said feeling a bit hungry since she didn't have any breakfast today.

Maria was looking around at the mist having a small eerie feeling about this woman,Suppressing it for now and wanting the other woman to lead her to her home.

~Arletta Dupain~

@PaulHaynek

The trip was uneventful, to say the least. A good little jaunt through the fields. She left the horse behind for use at the guild though - they might have need of it more than she. A nice chance to clear her head and get psyched up for this job. Guard duty was something she was well acquainted with, though never with any...official organization. Still, she was confident in her ability to do it...even if something was seemingly off about the job.

When she finally arrived at the Shrine of Eros, to say she was impressed was an understatement. As she walked into the town, the Dullahan took in the sights and sounds. It was a lively place to say the least. The entire town was decorated in vibrant, beautiful colors of red and pink, a stark contrast to her black colored demon-silver armaments and armor. Eros was a goddess of love after all, so it was perhaps expected. She probably stuck out quite badly - which was no surprise she was found so easily by the guard of the city.

"You don't belong here."

Stern and serious, though not hostile. Arletta turned her head towards the source of the voice, spotting the woman easily. She was wearing elegant and quite beautiful red and white armor. The dullahan straightened her posture slightly as she was addressed, following the knight who went on to introduce herself as Valerie. The order was a part of this town? Or at least, close to its border. That was bad...well, as long as she didn't make too much of a ruckus there shouldn't be any issues, and it wouldn't be her first run in with the order. She could handle herself easily enough.

She was rather surprised though, that Valerie was able to label her as a Dullahan almost immediately.

"I am Arletta Dupain." She introduced herself with a friendly smile. "A pleasure to meet you. I must say, I've never been in a place dedicated to Eros before...it's quite lovely here." She gave a look around the shrine as she spoke. "The request said something about Guard duty? I've been in my fair share of scuffles, and have been on guard duty before." She replied, though her tone was humble and she wasn't trying to brag. "Regardless, I will try not to cause too much of a ruckus with me being here. I would be remiss to cause trouble with the Order."

You find out that the Dark Priest did not live in a house. Rather, she occupied the port's local church. It was a large structure that appeared to be visible from any point in Boreal Port. It appeared holy like those of The Order but it was doubtful that it belonged to them as the coastal town was definitely accepting of monsters judging from how you have seen some monsters obviously among the population.

Your knock on its wooden doors were immediately answered. "Hello. May I help you?" The person who responded was a woman wearing saintly-looking attire. However, her clothes were dark and purple in color. You see a purple tail extending from her backside wrapped in chains and her ears were pointed. It was obvious this woman was not human but her presence in the church's vicinity was quite ironic. Or fitting, depending on the viewpoint.

She gasped upon spotting your wounds. "You are hurt! Please, come inside! Let me treat your wounds before they grow worse!" She led you inside the building and set you upon one of the pews. Looking around, you see that the inside of the church appeared to be undergoing a makeover. Half of the imagery present was still of The Order while the other half were dedicated to the more obscene sides of life. There were already feminine idols of purple or pink color posing lewdly, clearly intent to rile the lust of men.

The Dark Priest examined the fresh wounds that you have received from your encounter with the Varjans. "I knew learning healing spells would help me in the long run." She said before placing her open palms near your injuries. With a quiet utter of a spell, her hands glowed green and you immediately began feeling better. The wounds closed up and the Dark Priest moved on to the other injured parts of your body.

"Where did you go and what have you been doing, Miss Centaur?" The Dark Priest asked as she healed you. "Did you go to the Varjan lands or some Order territories or something?"

"Oh, so the mystery for the ages then?" The Dwarf replied. "Interesting. How about any siblings or any friends back home? Did one o' them get lucky too or is it just you?"

"That reminds me, one of me Scouts said that there's also a bunny man 'round here. Another male monster." The Dwarf began talking about Freyr. "You two know each other? You know, back before this guild o' yours started?" He asked, taking another swig from his mug. "I think it's kind o' weird that two male monsters would show up here together. Is it just a coincidence?"

"Also, don't let this be a one-sided conversation. Don't be scared to ask me questions. I don't bite. That would be my grandfather, Borin Stiffbeard."

"Well... it's not exactly guard duty. It's more like a reconnaissance mission but you will be guarding me. Or at least, providing backup when things go south." Valerie began as the two of you reach the other end of the town. "And don't worry about The Order, I'll handle that. Besides, they're not here today and even if they were, I doubt they could tell you're a monster"

"I'm not sure if you know this but this Shrine Town always had problems with raiding from bandits. Let me explain..." Valerie stretched her white-plumed wings and gave it one light flap. "You see, Varjo is... not a great place to live. A lot of people there dream of escaping unless they're planning to overthrow their oppressors. The former option is more practical and less likely to fail than the latter, especially with large enough numbers." She explained. "Once enough people have gathered to punch a hole through the Varjan main army, they usually make for the mountains we are headed to and take shelter in a fort there."

"Ravagers' Rest its name is. It was previously Railuc's Rest but as you can see, it changed to better describe its usual occupants." Valerie then looked towards the snow-capped mountain in the far distance. "From there, they then conduct raids for supplies. With the shrine as its usual target."

"There's a new group of Varjan refugees in the fort. We're taking a look at who they are, how large they are or if they're willing to talk." Valerie then sighed from her long briefing. "I don't suppose you have a fast, quick solution to this mess, do you? Anyway, are you alright with flying?"

~@GoddessOfNature~

You left the guild for a while to attend to some matter likely concerning the forest. But you returned, ultimately, to service the fledgling guild.

Upon returning, you noticed that the building was being repaired by a team of Dwarves, the non-monstrous kind. You spot an orange-haired man outside, supervising the reconstruction of the guild's home. Your prank-victims told you about him, he was the guildmaster Bartholomew Barker. You have not properly introduced yourself to him and so he likely did not know you much.

He spotted you and waved at you. "Hey there!" He greeted you as he approached. "Hey, I recognize you. You came with Magnus and Freyr right? The two of them are on requests right now so they probably won't be back until nighttime."

"May I know what you are doing here? And may I know your name as well?"

Freyr

Freyr was a bit surprised when he saw Neil getting out, coughing. What was wrong? He hasn't felt any smell yet, and his nose was far more sensitive than Neil, so if it was something that strong, he would already have smelled it. It wasn't long before he started to smell a nice, pleasing fragrance, but other than that he wasn't feeling any other effects.

"It's a pure mellow high, isn't it?" Freyr heard Darren saying, as the sweet fragrance came to his nose.
"But I do get concerned about the monsters." He continued talking, but Freyr was too concentrated to pay attention to what he was saying, it was something about how that they are nothing that serious, but to not let them too close and other things..

So far, he didn't noticed anything wrong with that 'Huwana'. No strange effects, nothing that could be potentially dangerous, at least not until that moment.... Wait! Monsters?

"Monsters? What mons-" Freyr tried to ask, but before he could finish his sentence before his vision got blurred for a second, making him blink a few times. Just as he opened his eyes again, he suddenly was alone in a foggy forest, nowhere near the city or the apothecary.
What was happening? Was he drugged? Was he taken somewhere? A lot of questions came up on his head, but there were more pressing matters to attend, as a green thing hit him on his stomach with full force, almost making him lost his balance.

When he looked to the direction the 'shot' came, he only found a very strange and silly looking plant, bouncing around. He had never seen such strange plant before. Before he could investigate it a little bit better though, the plant quickly shot another pea on his direction, surprising him. Luckily, this time he was prepared, jumping to avoid the shot. The previous shot wasn't lethal, and not enough to incapacitate him, but it surely was painful.

Freyr had his weapons with him, and more and more plants were popping off the ground, all of them shooting at his direction.
Was that the 'monsters' Darren told him about?
Freyr could do only one thing... Fight the strange plants, and so he did. Luckily, he was in his element, a forest. Using his agility and the trees, he easily dodged the shots, shooting back arrows whenever he found a little break between all the shots. Due to the number of plants, it was impossible to keep shooting them continuously amongst the hail of 'bullets', but he still was able to shoot. If things continued on that rhythm, slowly but surely he would be able to take care of the plants.

Bast Ragoczy

Araghast's dark laughter resonated through the camp as the warlord said Bast was free to go. Sure, his soldiers were nothing more than mindless drones. Meat sacks that did only what their beloved commander told them, but that Araghast... His next words would surely spark Bast's interest...

"But let us not kid ourselves. You WILL partake on our petty squabbles and our barbaric, meaningless bloodshed. Sooner or later. After all, did you not just participate in it in your 'exception'? Hehe, I look forward to your next 'exception', magician." He said, after telling his warriors to stand down.

Those words made a dark, mischievous smile appear on Bast's face.
"Interesting... Very, very interesting indeed!" He thought to himself, sheathing his sword cane with a flourished movement as the cards continued spinning around him, albeit in a much slower pace, shielding him from any arrow or surprise attack.

"Oh! And I thought that you were just a mindless mass of muscles just like your soldiers, but it looks like you are a cut above these mindless drones, right?"

"But there are some wrong things in your assumption... I killed him solely because I wanted to... I could easily flee from this battle... But instead I've chosen to stay, and have a bit of fun!" He said, laughing.

"I'm not interested in politics, struggles for power or any other thing you might want to use to justify your actions, no... I'm interested solely on your actions, Mr. Araghast... You've caught my interest, warlord..." He said, looking directly towards Araghast with a dark smile.

"Oh, and about my 'exception'? I forgot to tell you... I am a cultured individual, a gentleman, and I'm proud of being one, but honestly? I have no qualms in killing ten or even one hundred lives in order to attain my goals... You see... I have very specific interests... Secrets, taboo, knowledge, magic... I have no use for money or material possessions..." Bast said, bowing down in a flourished farewell as the cards took him away.

"Oh, but don't worry! I'm not a savage beast... I won't slaughter innocent lives if I have the choice. Of course... that depends on what is at stake..." He said, still looking towards Araghast.

"Hypocrisy? Maybe... But just as you said... This is the way of the world, am I right? You're not mistaken in that... There is no running away from this fact... But the world is much more than what you can see... What people take as 'powerful' and 'precious' pale in comparison to the things they cannot see... Seek knowledge, Araghast. Seek everything that is taboo, everything that is forbidden and you will find the truth, and with it, you will find power. Seek secrets, and you will find me... Whether you will be able to find me or not, only your thirst for knowledge and your determination will tell..." Bast said, turning his back and calmly walking back towards Boreal Port.

"Friends, enemies, allies... I don't care about neither of those things! Warlord Araghast... Keep me entertained, and I'll make sure to be the only one responsible by the end of your act... And I won't let it end prematurely." Bast said, disappearing beneath the clouds with a dark, blood chilling laughter.

"Don't disappoint me, Araghast. The stage is all yours, I wont interfere anymore, at least not for now, instead, I will only watch..."
Bast said, throwing a card on his direction. The card would stop right in front of him, standing up and showing its face, displaying a king. The card was imbued with a beacon type magic. If Araghast discovered that and used it, it didn't matter where Bast was, he would know where Araghast were.

"Use it if you want to talk to me, I'm anxious to see what you will do next..." He shouted as he walked away.

Eilidh Chiron

Eilidh bowed respectfully in greeting at the Dark Priest, and was about to reply to her questions when the Priest took the words out of her mouth and ushered her in urgently. Eilidh let herself be led, once again noting the differences that many cultures had compared to Home. On the plains, wounds were so commonplace that they were treated quickly but in a relaxed manner. Nobody was ever shocked from seeing an injury. Whereas in this town, the concern of the townspeople was touching, but melodramatic in the Centaur's eyes.

As she was laid upon a church pew, she took some time to look at the Church, and noticed the evidence of renovations, and the mixture of Order and Heathen imagery decorating the holy building. This told Eilidh that this building was recently a Church of the Order, and it stood to reason that this whole port town was likewise. To see so quick a change so recently, and too have not heard gossip, rumor or hearsay about it struck Eilidh as strange. Just what did happen here recently? A battle? Were the Order forced out? Eilidh was so consumed in thought that she almost did not notice that the Priest had finished healing and had asked her a question.

"Oh! Ah, I was escorting a charge from Sonarra, who were under my protection. It was a good thing, too, or they'd have most definitely been arrested on the journey without my help. Relations between Sonarra and the Varjans are souring and they wanted to leave before a full blown revolt kicked off."

Bandits? Almost imperceptibly, Arletta stiffened, her eyes narrowing just slightly as Valerie spoke. She was...intimately familiar with their kind. She didn't say anything though, as that was neither here nor there. The dullahan simply listened. It was understandable that people would want to flee Varjo. What she couldn't wrap her head around though, was why any of them would resort to banditry. Why, would any of them be bandits when they could rather put their talents to better use more nobly?

"Unfortunately, no. It would depend on who exactly is at the fort and if they would be willing to negotiate." However, the question of 'Flying' caught her completely off guard. "eh? Flying?" Could she be suggesting what Arletta thought she was suggesting? "I-uhm, no, I have never been flying before." She stuttered out. Not that she was against it really, but...she liked her feet on the ground just like she liked her head to remain firmly on her shoulders.

"I...I would be fine, if you are suggesting flying to our destination."

"Siblings...let's see...I was the 7th one in my family, and there was uh...Clarissa, Mauve, and Annie, and Joan, and Kira after...so I have 11 siblings." Magnus answered, completely straight faced as if it were completely normal to lose track. "All girls though...I really don't know why I'm male, I'm being honest." he said, crossing his arms.

Hearing question of what was no doubt Freyr, Magnus brightened up a bit. "Those rumors must be about Freyr. He's a really awesome member of the guild; Shoots a bow faster than I even notice him pulling an arrow out. N-No, I never knew him before joining the guild...and, coincidences are coincidences for a reason, right? B-Besides...I was only invited here because my father turned down his invitation." he said, remembering that he was...kind of just a second choice. However he did realize that all he was doing was just responding to the dwarves' mentions of the conversation being one-sided. As such, he voiced a question after clearing his throat: "Um...Why are you so interested in Male Monsters anyways? And aside from that, do you um...have any siblings?" Magnus was kind of just going in circles with the conversation it seemed. He wasn't...used to talking to people this much. Most of the time his family just "Did" instead of talking about what they planned on doing. As such, he tended to just do whatever he felt silently.

The Dragon's Dressmaker

@Eviledd1984
"Very well. Hold this rope and do not let go. It would take me a while to find you in this fog if you strayed away." Nephele said, offering the rope to Maria. Once she'd taken hold, Nephele would lead her through the dense air surrounding the area. The grass on the way tickled at their knees with how tall it had grown...it seemed no man or beast ventured out to cut or eat it. Regardless, it would not take them too long to walk to a rather foreboding, darkly lit cave that screamed: "Dungeon Boss Inside" from appearance alone. Given that the fog was nonexistent here, there wasn't much need for the rope as Nephele lead Maria further inside, lighting sconces along the way with a piece of flint and her claws.

Once they'd walked a fair distance inside, Maria would see a fortune's worth of golden coins, glittering jewels, gem encrusted jewelry and ceremonial swords all organized into distinctly neat, yet very messily placed piles. "Do not mind my hoard; it is an appallingly poor one I know, but rest assured, I've enough to compensate you." she said, as if she was possessing nothing more than the clothes off her back. That was...a lot of money. Given her hoarding habits, the scales, and the bit of noble air around her, it was getting clearer that she was some sort of Draconic Monster. "Have a seat, and I will discuss your task at hand." she said, moving a rather expensive looking mahogany long table into place, setting a place at it for Maria across from her. They would be separated by a huuuuuge divide in table length, of roughly 10 or so feet, but it was close enough to talk.

After a minute of waiting at said table, Maria would be presented with a vintage wine served in a crystalline polished glass, as well as a...more than generous serving of what appeared to be an entire roasted turkey. "I apologize if it is not enough. In waiting, some of the food I had purchased for meeting Bart's party spoiled." Nephele said before taking her place at the opposite end, seeming to have a much more meager and humble meal than Maria, featuring water served in a wooden goblet, as well as a few slices of bread topped with some sort of mushroom thinly sliced atop it, seemingly buttered. Strange that she had a roasted turkey and melted butter, but almost no kitchen utensils whatsoever save for the forks and knives laid before Maria. Midway through eating a piece of her own meal, she suddenly realized something. "I completely neglected to ask...are you a vegetarian, Maria? If so, I can procure you something more suitable." Whatever Nephele wanted Maria to do, it must have been something important to her to have laid out a meal fit for...well, not a mercenary on a job, that's for certain. Especially given how it seemed that she was depriving herself of the same luxury.

"Oh! Ah, I was escorting a charge from Sonarra, who were under my protection. It was a good thing, too, or they'd have most definitely been arrested on the journey without my help. Relations between Sonarra and the Varjans are souring and they wanted to leave before a full blown revolt kicked off."
Eilidh Chiron

"I see. Well, what town under Varjo has good relations with its ruler?" The Dark Priest replied. "I'd say I would wish them luck but... many others before them have tried to separate from Varjo and..." She trailed off, her expression was one of sadness.

The Dark Priest then shook her head. "Anyway, you are lucky that you have not received any grievous injuries." She remarked as she finished healing all your wounds. "That should do it. Are you feeling alright? Does it still hurt?" The Dark Priest began wiping away any of the spilled blood. "I must ask though, how did you get a charge all the way in Sonarra? Did someone there or from there ask you for help?"

"Wait a second, you don't happen to be part of that new guild, are you? The one doing all sorts of requests?" The Dark Priest faced you. "There was a gentleman who came from the guild yesterday. He was very, very rude but he did do what has been asked, kind of, so I prepared a reward. Though, it's not a conventional reward of gold but supplies of food."

"I...I would be fine, if you are suggesting flying to our destination."
Arletta Dupain

"Splendid!" Valerie smiled as she grabbed both your arms and with one flap of her majestic wings, the two of you were in the sky. "We would be much faster this way."

Valerie then began the flight towards Ravager's Rest with you as her sole passenger. "The people of the shrine would always try to reach out to these bandits. You know, with the 'we come in peace' and the 'you are welcome here' stuff." She then sighed. "Unfortunately, Varjan refugees have grown up in an environment of unending violence and distrust and thus responded to our welcoming arms with swords and axes."

The two of you have reached the fort and hovered above it. The stone stronghold was built into the mountain but like your guildhouse, it was also in very poor condition and had clearly seen better days. It was still quite large though, covering enough of the mountain to probably house an army. "We still get through them though." Valerie continued. "But not without sacrifice. I knew a set of Apsara twins who were always ready to jump at the call. Ready to meet those bandits without hesitation. I knew they were going to bite it sooner or later, I just prayed they did so at the same time so one need not face loneliness. Unfortunately, Eros isn't the goddess of Death."

"Anyway, it looks from here that it doesn't seem that--" Valerie was cut off when you both spot a huge fireball shoot from somewhere in the fort towards the two of you. The Valkyrie gasped as she tried to manuever away but the flaming missile detonated and the resulting shockwave temporarily knocked you out.

Once you regain your senses, you may have anticipated pain since being incapacitated in midair would definitely result in a very steep drop. But you did not, you instead find yourself in the arms of Valerie and the two of you were heading to the ground in a much slower speed and a much softer landing. She then quickly dropped you to your feet. "Are you all right? It's a good thing I recovered quickly or else both of us would be in a world of pain."

The neighing and galloping of horses caught your attention and there seem to be an entire group of horsemen heading towards you. There was one who rode ahead and was at spitting distance from you. Before you could react though, the Mounted Brigand leapt from his horse and landed on top of you.

His hands immediately went to wringing your neck. You could tell he was strong but maybe not stronger than a monster.

You dispatch the pea-shooting plants with single arrows but more of them just keep sprouting. Still, you kept fighting and dodging the pea projectiles and still, they kept firing large peas at you.

But then you felt the ground rumble a bit and you see, over at the distance that a huge corn on the cob on a wagon has arrived. Then, multiple new plants arose from the ground around the yellow crop. These were not the peashooters you were fighting earlier but they appeared to be watermelons hurling other watermelons like a catapult. The cob then pointed upward and it was clear to you that it was going to launch its corn at you.

Judging from the size of it, you were unlikely to evade the corny impact. You had to stop it before it fires. However, the melon catapults surrounding it appear to be protecting the corn on the cob. Besides lobbing huge watermelons at you, you see that their eyes were watching cautiously at your next move. You need to take them out to dispatch the huge corn on the cob.

But to do that, you may give the cob ample time to launch at you. But on the other hand, ignoring the watermelons may let them exploit an opening and overwhelm you. What shall you do?

"Um...Why are you so interested in Male Monsters anyways? And aside from that, do you um...have any siblings?"
Magnus Eissenhoeff

The Dwarf was incredulous at your first question. "Hoh, well why shouldn't I? You're a bloody male monster! That's never happened ever since the current Demon Lord took ovah!" He answered before finishing his mug. "All the monsters turned female and all their children were female monsters. To have a male born from a monster is literally the main objective the Demon Lord has. You're a miracle, lad!"

"Well, anyway..." The Dwarf cleared his throat before moving to your second question. "I have one brother. He's... he's not with us anymore." He gripped his mug as he stared at the floor. "Bloody damn Varjans and their bloody damn Queen... And bloody damn Order for siding with 'em. Traitorous scum, all of 'em." The Dwarf realized that he had just derailed the topic. "Ahh, sorry 'bout that lad. I suppose it's too soon for me."

He then sighed. "Welp, I guess that's enough time for mucking about. Time to get back to work. Got to show the lads that I don't just bark orders 'round here." He said before getting off his seat. Spotting that you had barely drank from your mug of ale, the Dwarf looked at you. "Are you gonna finish that?"

-----

The rest of the day was uneventful but you did see the gradual transformation of the dilapidated guild building into a functioning hall suitable for adventurers such as yourself. By nighttime, the Dwarves were almost done. What you see was a structure made good as new though its overall aesthetic was changed into something Dwarvish. The walls and foundations were dominated by stone instead of wood. Even the staircase that led to the second floor was stone, its wooden predecessor replaced. The insides were lit with bright torches and the windows only had curtains to close it, no glass.

While you were outside, a familiar, gentlemanly figure appeared.

~@13org (BST)~

Aragahst sighed. "You talk too much, magician." He remarked before picking up the floating card in front of him. "However, your outlook in life is... compatible with Lord Joshua's personal circle. You say you are a pursuer of knowledge and secrets, yes? I see. I shall recommend you to my lord. I'm sure he will find you... Hmm, I really can't say. His Majesty is a fickle one if I am to be honest. Especially if his sister is around. Regardless, I expect you to come when you are called?"

-----

It was nighttime when you reach the guild but once you got there, you see not the old, decaying structure but a new, refurbished building made good as new though its overall aesthetic was changed into something Dwarvish. The walls and foundations were dominated by stone instead of wood. Even the staircase that led to the second floor was stone, its wooden predecessor replaced. The insides were lit with bright torches and the windows only had curtains to close it, no glass.

You first come upon a familiar and large figure.

"Oh! So these where you were." Bart greeted both Bast and Magnus. First he turned to Bast. "Hey Bast. I don't recall you returning to the guild yesterday. What happened?" He asked with a worried look.

"But anyway, the Dwarves are almost finished. Well, finished actually and just putting on the last touches. Anyway, what they've done is this..." Bart then explained the building's features.

The left hall of the first floor was the dining area for the guild. The northern half was the kitchen while the southern half was the dining room. Meanwhile, the southern half of the right hall was the lounge where the guild members can hang out and maybe read some books stored in the bookshelf there. The northern half was a large bathing room with toilets included. The furnace that was in the north area of the first floor was divided into the armory on the left side and training room on the right.

Bart continued that the second floor would be where the guild's quarters were. It was divided by twelve, six on each side. Meanwhile, Bart also had the Dwarves build a stables left of the building itself. The horses the guild currently has were already stationed there.

"So guys. What do you say? Do you have any complaints? Because this is our last chance to have anything changed."

Maria Falena

Maria quickly grabbing the rope knowing that since the woman was not her enemy it would be safe to go with her, Taking the rope in her hand being lead away towards Nephele's home. Once there the mothwoman was looking around at the treasure carefully moving so not to hurt herself stepping on the treasure. "Thank you very much, That is very nice of you" Maria said making her way towards the table, Taking a seat on one of the chairs her hands on the table shyly looking down at her hands. Looking at the plentiful food one of her hands going down to rub her stomach, She did not have any breakfast so she was quite hungry.

"Well us Lepidoptera eat mostly leaves, fruit and sometimes nuts" She said smiling softly putting her hand back on the table. "So ummm can you tell me what i can do for you?" She asked wanting to know what the other woman was going to tell her about the quest.

"Luck had little to do with it," mused Eilidh proudly, with a slight hint of indignation in there. Centaurs were very proud creatures who put great worth into combat ability. Eilidh knew this Priest meant well but if a Centaur ever claimed to another Centaur that their feats were 'luck', it would be a most grievous insult. "It still hurts yet it is only pain, and pain is natural and good. And yes, I am from the Guild, and we are in dire need of any supplies you can spare, so we are very thankful to you for this generous reward. I also apologize for my colleague's rudeness, whoever he was."

@PaulHaynek

"Eep!" Arletta was not ready for the sudden lift-off. Not that she was afraid of heights or anything, nope. Not at all. More importantly though, the view from up here was amazing. Perhaps she should have tried flying earlier. Hopefully the flight to Ravager's rest would be a calm one. Valarie was a good flier, at least. Comfortable too...gah, no, Arletta. Bad thoughts. Thankfully, they arrived at the fort fairly quickly, enough to distract her mind from wandering.

The fort itself had seen much better times, but still defensible. It was built right into the mountain, which would make any large force attacking it difficult. Valerie went on to explain further - which only made her heart heavy and some not-so nice thoughts about what she was going to do to these bandits surface. She had half a mind to tell Valarie to drop them in right now so she could get a surprise attack on them. Now that she thought about it though, perhaps flying would've been a bad idea - they would at least, be easily seen from the ground to anyone smart enough to look up.

Which...was quickly proven to be a correct assumption.

The fireball rocket towards them, Valarie swiftly maneuvering them out of the way but to no avail. The resulting shockwave of the explosion rocked her senses, throwing her off balance and nearly causing her head to pop off, but she managed to keep it on. She had been expecting to either not wake up or wake up strung up in a tree somewhere but thankfully it seemed Valarie was good at her job.

"OOf...I'm fine. Not my first time almost eating a fireball." She brought a hand to her head and another to her neck as she adjusted her now lop-sided head. She didn't have time to react before the horsemen was upon them - and one leapt off of his horse, tackling her and placing his hands around her neck.

really bad move

There was a comical popping noise as Arletta's head popped off the rest of her body, rolling a few feet away as the mans hands were now likely grasping nothing but air, or rather wisps of demonic energy that was now spilling from her neck. The reaction afterwards, was almost instant. One of her hands moved up, grabbing the horns of his helmet and yanking it swiftly off before wrapping a free hand around his neck and squeezed. Her other hand drew the sword at her side, and whacked him on the side of the head with it with the broadside of the blade.

If the act worked to free her from the grapple, Arletta's body would leap back up and face their assailants, taking a rather aggressive and somewhat...playful? Seeming stance. Regardless of rather it worked or not - something rather odd happened, or rather was heard.

"Ah-Bollocks I lost...!" A voice that was definitely Arletta's shouted...but it was different. It was much less calm sounding than her usual manner. "Ye gobshite's are a right buncha idiots, aren't ya?" Yeah a lot different - where exactly was that accent from? "'Aright then ya gowls, lets see if ye can show this girl a good time! Try 'n make this entertaining!" She seemed ready for a fight, at least.

Someone may want to put her head back on before the situation escalates.

A Tempest Looms
~@Rune_Alchemist~

With the Brigand surprised by the sudden detachment of your head, you, or rather your body, repulse and remove the startled Brigand and successfully recover.

"Ah! Miss Dupain! Are you alright?!" Valerie cried as she picked up your disembodied head. However, both your Valkyrie friend and the Mounted Brigand enemies had to pause when you delivered your... accented taunt. "M-Miss Dupain...?" It was clear that Valerie was, not at all, expecting that. After all, you gave a very different impression upon meeting her.

But the Mounted Brigands renewed their charge with a war cry, alerting Valerie back into the fight. Two of the Brigands dismounted their horses and surrounded your battle-ready body. With shields and axes, they were unafraid of the headless fighter before them. One of them took the initiative and attacked, his axe craving your blood.

Meanwhile, another three of the Mounted Brigands got off their horses to face Valerie who held your head. Moving your head to one hand, she used her remaining hand to brandish a sword. But on closer look, you notice that the Valkyrie's blade was red in color and radiated demonic energy. It was then you knew that the sword was of Demon Realm Silver and it would never harm anyone so long as the current Demon Lord reigned. "Hold on, Miss Dupain. This is going to be rough."

Valerie entered combat against the three of the Brigands. Despite being outnumbered, she held her own quite well but keeping your head safe deprived her of a helpful second arm. She was fighting a losing battle, already receiving a few close calls.

To return your head to your body, it would need effort on your part.

The Dark Priest lightly chuckled. "Of course. Never underestimate the combat prowess of the mighty Centaurs."

"It still hurts yet it is only pain, and pain is natural and good. And yes, I am from the Guild, and we are in dire need of any supplies you can spare, so we are very thankful to you for this generous reward. I also apologize for my colleague's rudeness, whoever he was."
Eilidh Chiron

"Well, I believe his name was Bast something." The Dark Priest said. "Honestly, I don't understand the hostility. I know that the Church Of The Fallen God isn't for everyone but goodness."

"Speaking of men, are there any more men in your guild?" She then asked with an honestly curious look on her face. "Are they good looking? Are you in a relationship with one of them?" The Dark Priest began her prodding. "If not, is there someone there you've eyes on? Oh, don't tell me... you are the one being chased! It would not be surprising. You have a beautiful figure and there are men that look for strong types, you know?"

Since you were now healed completely, you had a convenient excuse not to continue this talk any further.

~@EndOfMyWarudo~

You were invited by Bartholomew Barker to his idea of a guild and so you came. Arriving at the guild at nighttime, you find that the headquarters was a structure of stone and metal almost as if it were built by the Dwarven race. Speaking of Dwarves, you see them hanging out about outside the building. Moreover, you see your inviter, Bart, talking to what appeared to be a gentleman and a large male with brown skin and white hair.

Seeing you, Bart immediately approached you. "Hey there! I know you! You're uhh, you're... Hans! Yes that's it. Hans Weber" He took a moment to recognize you. "Welcome to the guild, friend. You're a little late actually since the guild started a couple of days ago but that's okay since now, you don't get to see the sorry state of our building then." He patted you on the back.

"Thanks to Neil getting a favor from the Dwarves, we've gotten the building back in order. No more sleeping in tents as if we were just camping. Hey, don't tell me this was part of your plan and you came late intentionally." Bart jested with a laugh. "Anyway, welcome to the guild."

"Bast Ragoczy. I know of whom you speak but we have not had the pleasure of meeting in person yet. Unless it is against your wishes, I will retrieve an apology from him. There are several more men in our guild, yes. Several of whom, I have not met and do not know the names of, but there are three I have met; Bart, Neil and Marxello. I don't really know whether human men are good looking or not. That is not the gauge on which I measure a man's worth as a mate. As of right now, there is nobody I'm in a relationship with, nobody I am seeking out, and as far as I know, I am not being sought out or courted." Eilidh blushed involuntarily while talking about men. It was clear she wanted a husband of some kind, but wasn't actively pursuing that goal. "Why do you ask? Are ou interested in the human men of the Guild?"

-Hans Weber-

Hans really needed to pick better travel routes...walking into an entire encampment of Amazoness looking a husband may not have been the wisest course of action to take if he were to be joining a guild. His journey had been delayed by two whole days just to throw off his pursuers and even then the ex-paladin got extremely lucky in this regard. 'Cuttin' it way too close there Hans...', he mentally scolded himself. It would very much behoove Hans to next time try to go around the monster encampment and be delayed by one mere day rather than be chased by big, tough women wielding greatswords and be delayed by a whole two!

Through his hooded visage, Hans could see his destination at long last. The guild. Hans still wasn't sure why exactly why he had joined up given his whole lofty ambitions of co-existence, but it could have been a couple things. For one, Hans was in desperate need of coin and being a sellsword in this day and age, while a bit risky, could just as easily become a stepping stone on his way to his goal. Perhaps there were more, but now was not the time to muse on the situation. Gotta make a good first impression after all!

It didn't take long for Hans to spot Bart. Ah yes, Bart, the man who came to Hans in a tavern to purpose the idea of joining the guild in the first place. Hans was a decent judge of character and while Bart clearly meant no harm, he was more than he appeared. Why decide to rebuild this guild in the first place? What purpose did it suit Bart in the first place to restart the guild? Hans could think all he wanted, but for now, he couldn't figure out what Bart's endgame was. For now, all Hans could was quest.

As Bart approached the young man, Hans allowed his hood to come down, revealing his washed but unkempt hair and his mild stubble finished off with a slightly tired look in his eyes. While sometimes this was a front to keep his card hand to his chest, in this case Hans really was tired, through and through. All in all, a very average face to some. But maybe they liked average.

"Bart was it? Good to see you in good health friend, and no it wasn't my intention to get here late, I prefer being punctual. The reason for my lateness is due to me accidentally stumbling into an encampment of Amazonesses and dark elves, quite a few of them happened to be single. Took me a good two days to shake em' off my trail. But that's in the past, the important thing is that I'm here now.", the former paladin explained, a slight chuckle escaping his lips as he explained how hard the group pursued them.

"At any rate, I assume it's not just us in this guild? Who else do we have the pleasure of sharing this building with?"

"Don't worry about me justice-tits!" Arletta's head replied to the Valkyrie as the mounted brigands. "And call me Letta! Now less talkin' and more beatin' these slack-jawed maggots upside the head!" She then turned her attention to the two brigands in front of her, one of which was swinging an axe. For now take care of the two in front of her. Valarie could likely handle herself if she was skilled as she thought she was.

"Haha!" An aggressive grin was plastered on her heads features if Valarie had the time or care to look as she took action. Normally, Arletta would have taken a much more measured and defensive approach to fighting. More disciplined and much less aggressive. Now that she had literally lost her head, though? Well...she defaulted to her old style before becoming a monster More aggressive and...noticeably more violent.

Which this unlucky human was about to find out.

"Weak!" She taunted again. Instead of avoiding the blow, she caught the blade with the broadside of her own, one hand on the hilt and the other on the blade. She turned her blade to the side, shoving away his axe with a powerful shove, certain that her own monstrous strength would be enough to overpower his own. Before he could recover, she followed it up with a kick right to his midsection towards the second one, enough to hopefully send him stumbling backwards or at least wind him enough.

Before he could hopefully get a chance to recover, she dashed forwards and swung upwards with her blade. Luckily for him it was demon silver and no lasting damage would have been done, but Arletta wouldn't let him off so easily. She grabbed him by the helmet with her free hand kneed him right in the face before turning to the other brigand. It probably wouldn't harm him permanently. Just put hm out of commission for awhile.

The second she wouldn't give the chance to take initiative. If her attack on the first worked, she'd immedaitely turn her attention to the second and dash forwards quickly. As soon as she was in range, she lowered her posture, practically lunging forwards and swinging her blade in a wide horizontal arc.

Celes

The girl named Celes looked at the orange hair man and the reconstruction of the guild hall. She was just about to make a break for it when she was seen by the guildmaster. All terrible things going through her mind to torment the man. But she tries to keep calm as she looks him dead in the eyes "HELLO! I DID. ALL GOOD."
She would try and 'step away' as she was approached. She didn’t take her eyes off him, like a predator to a prey… As Bartholomew said something else she would start to really reconsider her decisions in life. "No you may not know what I am doing here and you may not know my name." She would try and mock Bartholomews tone with her voice.
Next thing the guild master would know is there is a strong breeze pushing against his body. Causing leaves to pick themselves up off the ground and cause a distraction. She would try and make a break for it. Flying into the air by riding her gushes of wind and shrinking her body to make it harder to see her.

Freyr

After taking care of the last one of the weird shooting plants, Freyr thought that things would now calm down, but the second he felt the ground rumbling, he knew it wouldn't be as easy as he thought. But when he saw the next opponents, his first thought was that the 'Huwana' Darren had was simply a very, very potent hallucinogen. First plants shooting peas, now catapults that fired watermelons and a... a huge corn on the cob on a wagon?

"This is ridiculous!" Freyr thought to himself. But again, it didn't matter how ridiculous the situation was, the pain was very real...

Freyr had no time to waste, the corn was already aiming up, and if it hit him, he would probably break a lot of bones... In the best of the outcomes...
On the other hand, if one of those watermelons hit him in the head, he would probably go unconscious. Something had to be done...

Without many options, Freyr did the only thing he could think of. Instead of running away, he ran towards the corn and the watermelon catapults. Approaching them from the side, Freyr's plan was to use the corn cob as a cover against the other watermelons, so he would have only to deal with a portion of them.

In theory, the plan was simple: He would approach the enemies from the side. Obviously, as he approached, the catapults would try to shoot him, but by the time they started firing towards him, he should be already close enough so the corn cob would made it so the other watermelons that were on its other side weren't able to hit him. That way, he would only have to deal with those on one side. Due to their number, he would focus solely on dodging, since it was simply impossible to do otherwise without risking being hit. After getting close to the giant corn cob wagon, he would use all his speed and momentum in a jump, kicking the corn, which was already aiming up, and try to flip the huge wagon over. With luck, it would take out the other watermelon catapults...

Freyr wasn't happy with the situation. He didn't knew if he could die on that hallucination, but he knew the pain was very real...

"I hope these are the last ones... I'm running out of options on how to deal with them..." He cursed as he started running towards them.

Bast Ragoczy

After reaching the guild, Bast had quite a surprise. Instead of the ruined building he saw a few days earlier, now the guild was fully built, made of solid stone in a dwarvish style. Bast knew the Dwarves, he knew their prowess. The guild was now practically a small fortress. He doubted they would have any problems with it.

The first faces he saw after quickly inspecting the new building were those of Magnus and Bartholomew.

"Oh! So these where you were." Bartholomew said, greeting both of them.

"Hey Bast. I don't recall you returning to the guild yesterday. What happened?" He asked, turning to Bast with a somewhat worried expression.

"Mr. Bartholomew, Mr. Magnus! I apologize for taking so long to return... I had a very... interesting encounter with a certain Lord Araghast..." Bast said, with a mysterious expression.

"It was quite the... interesting encounter... A bit messy, but interesting nonetheless." He said with a dark laugh.

"Anyways, I see that the guild has been rebuilt! I am quite familiar with the Dwarvish craftsmanship! Their works have a very unique style. Practical and durable. Their works surely are things that will outlive any one of us... Well... at least most of us..."
He said, with a treacherous smile as he said the last part.

"So guys. What do you say? Do you have any complaints? Because this is our last chance to have anything changed." Bartholomew asked, looking to him and Magnus after he shown the new guild to them.

"Complaints? By all means no! A dining room, a lounge, an armory and even a bath! And quite the luxurious one! Bartholomew, Magnus, what would you say about commemorating our new guild with a good bottle of wine or whiskey?" He asked, looking to both of them, interested in their answer.

"I can even tell you more about my little... encounter with Araghast and his army of mindless animals and the quest of a foolish boy for revenge." He said, with a treacherous smile.
