Riley Ridgeway

Location: Police Department Station 54

Riley leaned forward some as she listened to Roy in a hushed voice from the other detectives in the room, she didn't know anything on his new partner or anything like that. And she could understand not fully trusting a complete stranger, she didn't trust that many people in this city anyway other then Cecily. "You could always look up her file or something, your a cop as well right you could always look in that fancy cop data base there or something." Riley said as she leaned back stretching slightly before turning her attention back to Roy, she could use a drink as well.

"So whats the case that you and her are looking into anyway?" Riley asked, though she was pretty sure that he didn't trust her fully as well, and was probably police information that he didn't want to tell. "I owe you a six pack for yesterday and showing me how to shoot today as well. What are the other things we have to do today?" She wasn't sure what other plans Roy had for today other then the gun range earlier in the day she was curious.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: La Hacienda

With his two messages sent, all Caesar could do now was sit back and wait. It took longer than a couple of minutes to run a full and proper background check no matter how talented they might be. There was nothing but time before the funeral proper, though it would be for the best if he made appropriate appearances beforehand. Custom suggested that the guests pay their respects not only to the deceased, but to their closest family as well. Seeing as Benecio was the one cobbling this whole series of ceremonies together, not to mention that he wasn't the closest relative to Alicia present, it would fall to he and Maria. Yes, it was his responsibility to return to the crowd of Gonzalez men and women, not to mention the many additional members of La Familia by marriage, distant relation, and close association.

Then there were the two women he brought along. Cecily, because she might require the protection of being a couple thousand miles away from the rampant murders, surrounded by armed and pissed off people that loved Alicia and respected Caesar, and Natasha because she was the doctor treating the wound sustained by the junior Coroner. Caesar was more of the type to inflict grievous injury upon others rather than repair it, the occasional necessity of burning wounds closed or biting on a leather belt to tolerate pain aside. As it came to it, he did think it was a little suspicious that she volunteer so readily. Even as his daughter's body lay in a state of unliving still and quiet elsewhere in the complex, his mind was twitching eagerly to track down those responsible.

His suitcase was present in his bedroom, laying atop the foot of his bed. He walked over to it, considering what was inside. Clothes, of course, personal items, toiletries... and weapons. His leather vest, torn and repaired from hundreds of fights over the course of several decades, damn near a flag for his family to fly that symbolized who they were and where they came from. For that matter, he was a symbol for his family. More than a figurehead, Caesar was the patriarch of his clan, a large group of like-minded persons of Spanish and Aztec ancestry, with other assorted genetic odds and ends thrown in that served to strengthen the bloodline, as carbon and chromium and titanium might in an amalgam with iron to make deadly, sharp steel. He needed to be that symbol now, as he was going to ask the people present to lend their help, such as they could so far away from home, with what would come next.

Caesar was going to ask them to go to war.

The main difficulty was, of course, that to war with something, you had to nail down exactly what they were going to attack, and how. This wouldn't be an open conflict. This had to be surgical, precise, and secretive. But first, he had to look the part. The trappings of corporate America had to go, what little he allowed himself over the last couple of weeks, replaced by the day to day street clothes he would have worn otherwise. His engineer boots, rugged pants and trademarkable leather vest, of course. But mostly, it was his choice of weapons that even he did not ordinarily show openly around, back in California. Two machetes of appropriate size strapped to his back, a couple knives, his .45 pistol (one thing he genuinely appreciated that was American, those Anglos knew how to make a fine firearm), and Alicia's switchblade. He tied a large, black bandanna around his head and let his hair fall freely, then buckled on wide, studded leather bracers. This was the garb he might wear if he were readying for one of his legendary rampages; stealthy at first, until the first motorcycle chase or massive explosion. Then all-out carnage. This was what he did. This was what they did. It was fitting that they make their supplications to Dama Muerte, Our Lady Death: Caesar intended to send her a lot of extra company. But first, before he walked back outside, greeted his people, or anything else, the old man needed to take a few minutes for himself.

Meanwhile, in the courtyard...

The young lady ushered Cecily and Natasha down the stairs and into the throng of Gonzalezes below. She was known to all of them present, being the daughter of the Priest, and as such was given a respectful amount of space as she passed through the crowd. o her word, she located a thick, glass goblet and filled it with sweet, red wine diluted with juices, a few chunks of citrus fruit floating across the top. She handed it back to Cecily and snatched a flask-style bottle of something warmly amber colored for herself. This was the way things were done here. Stuff was provided, people took it, repaid as best they could or, in their case, took their right as guests of the family. All would come back around eventually, anyway.

She lit her candle, found a clearish spot for it, and took a knee in front of Alicia's body. A small prayer in Spanish could be heard over the murmurs of the crowd, just barely. Slowly, she stood and wiped tears away from her eyes, cleared her throat, and looked to the two women in tow. Her voice was a little shaky. "Yeah, um... I'm going to give a couple of minutes down here, say hi to some people. Then I'm back upstairs. This party's going to be going all day and all night, so ah... ...stick with me or do your own thing, I'm okay with both. The um, the channels..." Her voice cracked a little. She took a pull from the bottle she had just liberated, cleared her throat again, and continued, "Channels and stuff are set to American standards in the main room upstairs. DVR whatever you want. I'll let you know when it's time to eat."

J. Keystone

Location: Queensguard Industries R&D, Security Hub

The background check was coming along quickly and smoothly, much moreso than he would have expected. He wasn't what you would call a "Computer Guy", by any stretch of the imagination, but he knew how to read a report and draw some of his own conclusions. The Seattle Tech Team made it a point to drop links and copies of their findings directly into Keystone's upper access cloud. At first, it was ordinary stuff, born on this date in that place, parents did this, went to school there, yadda yadda yadda. Nothing too out of the ordinary, standard growing up and coming of age type stuff. Promising career, travel, etc.

Then one name stood out. He wasn't sure where he had heard it before. Maybe in a briefing somewhere, or a bit of paperwork shuffled off somewhere. It seemed important, somehow. Right in the back of his brain somewhere, a detail he couldn't shake. He didn't want to go to Caesar with nothing more than a strange feeling, so he decided to do a little light snooping himself. Keystone leaned forward and ran a search over the company intranet for a certain Doctor contact of Natasha's, along with a corresponding overt search on a popular search engine. Keystone hoped it was nothing. He really did.

La Hacienda: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico: Natasha watched Cecily for a moment as she lit her candle. Then her eyes roamed about the rest of the room. Seemed some people were ducking out already to other parts of the house. Looking over to Thalia she smiled a bit. "Thanks, I'm going to step out for some fresh air. Excuse me," she said before following to where Maria had gone. The kid had looked a little ill when she had shown up and while she wasn't a pediatrician and probably needed to avoid getting sick at all costs, seeing a sick kid didn't sit well with her.

Ever the doctor she stepped outside and wandered the garden until she spotted Maria sitting there rubbing Liam's back as he kept rocking back and forth on his knees trying to crawl. "Strong kid," Natasha said to announce her presence.

"Like his mother," Maria said without looking over to Natasha. She wasn't telling her to go away so Natasha approached slowly and sat down on a bench near Liam and Maria. Maria looked over to Natasha and straightened herself up a bit. "So how did you meet Caesar?" she asked rather bluntly.

That was a question she hadn't expected and one she really didn't want to answer but she did anyways. Natasha was blunt when it came to most things. Better to be blunt than to sugar coat things and people misreading what was said. "I had to do the autopsy on Miss Dunn and your daughter..." she admitted. Maria's lips narrowed a bit as she looked back down at Liam but she said nothing. It answered her question well enough, for now.

Diamond District: "Sounds good to me," Zoie said as she fluffed her own hair a bit before opening the door and heading down the hallway. "Let's go get our do done then shall we?" she giggled. As much as Zoie knew they were going to have to get serious that evening to get a job done, Zoie was enjoying herself right then. It had been forever since she had been able to do something like this. Just hang out with someone, get the full treatment. It was nice. Granted she would have rather spent her entire day out on the ranch, riding horses and swimming in the pond by her house but that wasn't going to happen. At least not today. Maybe another day, when things were calmer.

As they came out to the main area Wayne clapped his hands. "Oh yes, I get you! Yes, you," he said pointing to Mali. "I know all about her. Don't want to swap stories of decades ago. So you come with me, sit. Please, tell me what the Goddess Mali wishes my magical hands to do today? Any idea? Color, shape? What will you be doing this evening?" Zoie gave Mali a bit of a look as if to say "Good luck" as she was ushered to the seat next to Waynes station by a woman about her own age who was much quieter than Wayne was. Granted a nuclear bomb seemed to make less noise than that man did.

Police Department: Station 54: "Oh trust me I will. It's Lawson's case," he said to Riley as his phone rang. He ignored it at first, keeping his attention on Riley. "It should have been open and close. Shit was on TV. Recorded. Seems cut and dry but no. Some fucker from the FBI reopened the case which in turn made the chief reopen it and slap it on my desk. FBI agent by the name of..." he said before reaching into his desk and pulling out the file, double checking. "Tinder. Special Agent Marc Fucking Tinder, whoever the fuck that is."

The phone kept ringing. "Beer sounds good. Hopefully I can look into this and we can sneak the fuck out of here," he added but the phone kept going. Seemed it wasn't going to stop. Groaning he finally picked up the phone. "Station 54, Gregory speaking, what do you want?"

FBI Headquarters Justice: Marc sighed a bit as he rubbed his face. "Shot to the chest was the official cause of death. There were more bullet wounds but that was the one that took Lawson out. The tape is still around, it is in evidence. From what was gathered by those that reported to the scene it matched up with what was televised. Though I don't think that was all of it. The arms dealer was known to keep his areas fully recorded so he could ensure that others were not stealing from him. Yet when searched nothing remained. I believe they were taken for some reason and they show what went down before the two were gunning each other down in board daylight."

Shaking his head he picked up a picture that was on his desk, tapping his finger on it a few times before turning it around and showing it to Priya. It was a picture of Marc and Lawson in some desert. Both were in full military packs, weapons, looked like they had just been through hell but Lawson was still smiling. "This was after am ambush. We didn't think we were going to make it out but we managed to. Lawson never let it get him down. Smiling ear to ear right then even though we had just come out of hell."

Justice Asylum: "Hell if I know. All I know is they were trying to send someone if they could get in contact with her. They said it could be a couple of hours," Nurse Cratty said. "Or in no time, or never," she added as she watched Jaina. "Said the woman was newly transferred so she didn't have other assignments to deal with as of yet. If they could find her they would send her over."

"As far as that goes doc, you would need to put in the request. Most doctors don't like sharing that type of file with nurses. I could get it but I assure you, you'll have an easy time and it will be faster. Anyways, I have rounds. Orderly is outside the door if you need him," she added before walking out of the door and closing it behind her. She obviously had no intention of staying around any longer. She had helped the new doctor out, had her a half assed "body guard" at the door for her, had done what she could to get them a translator. Now it was time to see to the other patients.

Priya listened intently as he spoke. Judging by his words, it seemed simple enough. Hell, there were even witnesses. Still, it was a nagging feeling of there being more to this. Especially when he showed her the picture. She looked at the man's smiling face despite the fact they were out there fighting for their lives and she, too, knew that this man wouldn't have acted like this.

Now she was more determined than ever to solve this case. "I'd like to see the tape, if possible. That should clear up any other questions I have. After that, unless there's anything else you wish to share, that should be all I need and I can get out of your hair." She briefly wondered where her partner was in all of this. After this, she should check back in and see if he ever turned up.

Mali hadn't really thought about anything she would specifically want for this shopping spree despite having plenty of time to do so, and it was just now beginning to dawn on her that was a mistake on her part. Next time she had a free moment, she'd try giving some pre-thought (was that a word?) on this things so she wouldn't be caught off-guard by things she could have seen coming. Right now it might just be clothes and hairstyle, but if this behavior repeated, it could end up being something more serious down the line. Her mind conjured up some brief image of giving the wrong answer and being shot for her trouble. It took her a second of solid willpower to not shudder out of place in the middle of a spa. The serious stuff will come later. Right now just focus on relaxing and getting pretty.

"We're going to a high class party this evening, very political. So I was thinking of something elegant, but commanding. Like 'I'm not a brute, but I won't be taken advantage of.' I prefer to stay natural as far as color goes. Think you can work with that?" As the words came out of her mouth, she was smacking herself internally for how dumb and lame she sounded. You're supposed to be trying to come off like you belong, not like some air-headed valley girl who can't distinguish from there, they're and their. That aside, she wasn't sure how much he'd be able to do, her hair wasn't all that long. It went down the the bottom of her neck at its longest, which definitely limited his options. Maybe she could get some extensions put in if it became an issue.

Riley listened to Roy as he started to bring up the case, and instantly knew what the case was that he mentioned, or the bits that she had gotten on the news and what Marc at told her the other day. "From my experience theres always loads of shit that could be missing." Riley said as she leaned back in the seat. "I also just happen to know Marc pretty well, he and I along with my sister went to high school with him. Also helped out with the whole Grimm Reunion stuff as well, I know his number if you need it. It probably beats having to call the FBI field office to try and get his number through there." Riley offered, she remembered Lawson pretty well a few months ago.

Riley looked over at the phone as it constantly rang over and over again, it seemed that it really wasn't going to be stopping anytime soon. "Beers on me later then whenever we get the hell out of here." Riley said with a slight smile as she watched Roy finally picking up the phone. Riley looked away for a moment as she tried to hold back a slight laugh, he did sound a little bit grumpy but then again she couldn't really blame him. From what she had seen his boss seemed to be one of those bosses that yell at you constantly, her eyes wondered around the room once more looking at the other officers within the room she was slightly curious about the coworkers that he worked with as well.

Felix Hausten

Location: Justice Memorial Hospital

At first there was no answer, just the repetitive sound of the dial as he tried to will the police force of this good for nothing run down city to pick up. At first, Felix didn't believe Justice could be so bad, but things were bad, real bad. It felt like anyone could be out for you, trust was a foreign affair here it appeared. And he was certainly a foreign affair. He'd been naive, and he wasn't going to let the city kick him around anymore.

Finally, Justice prevailed, the phone picked up. Gregory, he didn't think he'd heard that name much, seemed safe though. The cop didn't sound like he was pretending to be a cop, he had that right amount of resentment for even having to handle the phone that he believed this was his chosen occupation. Meant he probably wasn't being recorded. At least on that end.

"Ah, hello Officer gregory, my name is Felix Hausten, I would like to report possible breaking and entering at Room 3B at Boston Heights. I was recently hospitalised so I cannot be there myself but I have high suspicion that there's people out to hurt me and cause me grief." This was insane. Like this cop was gonna even consider checking in there, his best hope was getting more conversation out of him.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: La Hacienda - Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Cecily thanked Thalia quietly as she accepted the alcohol fruit mixture. She held it in her hand, watching for a split second the fruit just barely floating at the surface. She wasn't a heavy drinker, but perhaps she'd take a sip or two. Natasha hadn't protested to the idea of her having alcohol, even with the gunshot wound, so it couldn't be too bad. And with what Thalia was telling her, it would be socially awkward for her to not have something. It reminded her of those high school scenarios they had to talk about with guidance counselors - about how to say no with peer pressure.

As Natasha excused herself after Thalia explained she was going to go chat with a few people, Cecily felt like Natasha likely deserved some privacy of her own, as did Thalia. She quickly looked around the general area, hoping to find a nice spot to go and tuck herself away into. She was an excellent wallflower and couldn't help but feel extremely out of place here, anyways. As much as she loved to read about adventures and heroes, that type of life terrified her. This was the closest she had ever gotten to living like the fictional characters she adored - and she could feel her anxiety levels rising.

"I'll leave you to it, then," Cecily said to Thalia. She glanced around and at random, she picked a direction to head in. Well, it wasn't entirely random. She didn't want to go too near the corpse-altar-burial-thing. She wasn't even sure what to call it. She just knew that if she was going to trip and fall, she didn't want to be near that thing. Maybe once she had found herself a nice little corner to hide in, she could entertain herself with people watching.

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum

Iris nodded as Nurse Cratty left, about to thank her for all of her help but the door was already shut. Sighing a bit, Iris brushed some stray strands of hair out of her face and then looked at Jaina. The woman was currently craning her neck in an assortment of ways, as if she was trying to memorize each little detail of the room from every possible vantage point. She hadn't ever had to pull a file like that before, so she wasn't sure of the general approach. However, she figured calling the hospital where Dr. Sarbye worked would be worth a try.

"I'm going to leave now, d'accord?" Iris said, setting the thing of strawberries down. Jaina had earned them, but she wasn't going to put her fingers near Jaina's mouth. The woman didn't seem to understand cause and effect. Or if she did, she didn't understand that bad things could happen. Or even what bad things were. "I'll come back soon once the translator arrives."

"Waaaaiiiiiiit! I have something important to tell you!" Jaina shouted, just as Iris had put a hand on the door.

"Oui...?" Iris said, hesitation clear in her voice. She wasn't sure what Jaina's next move would be. Even in a straightjacket, the woman was still incredibly dangerous.

"Let's turn on the juice and see what shakes loose~!" Jaina sang. Iris raised an eyebrow, confusion clear on her face. "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice~!"

Iris shook her head a bit. She recognized the name vaguely. It was just some movie, right? At any rate, it'd be worth it to jot down a note about the behavior. She left the room and quickly made her way to her office, before looking up where she could get the files on Jaina that she needed.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: La Hacienda

A long, doleful sigh issued from Caesar, back in his private rooms. He hadn't been here for a long time, and it looked as clean and maintained as a hotel room. If the hotel room were decorated in Northern Mezoamerican Splatterpunk, anyway. Crisp bedclothes and polished wooden chests gave a contrasting feel of sophistication to the master bedroom, along with simple but high quality furniture and a series of more modern electronics. This was the room of a man with one foot in cultural history and the other in the necessities of the modern era. And a poster of himself captioned with "Chuck Norris? Never heard of her." that he really should have taken down years ago, but still gave a chuckle every now and again. Not today, obviously. But sometimes. Perhaps he'd blow it up and use it as a motivational poster for the Familia while he was away, which was really all of the time, anymore.

But he had wasted too much time in his rooms for now. As painful and tedious as this whole thing was for him, Caesar was obligated to greet his extended family and be seen by them, among them, as one of them. He was their patriarch. So, by way of the busy, working kitchen, Caesar returned to the house's courtyard. He was armed for a prolonged battle, and horking back a tortilla filled with whatever steaming hot meat they were carving up for the next meal. By the time he had shoved it in as far as it would go, the venerable Mexican began shaking hands and nodding quietly to the people present. After a bit of social hobnobbing of this nature, he happened across Cecily, carrying her glass of sangria. Noting the mild "fish out of water" vibe, he quietly asked her, "You good?"

Elsewhere in the courtyard, the seasoned Mexican's niece had located, and been accosted by, a trio of fully fledged, mask-wearing Luchadores, and had been lifted onto one of their shoulders. This particular one had a brown and black mask resembling a sugar skull and profuse hair on his arms, not unlike one of the legendary creatures of the United States's Pacific Northwest. Her eyes were still sad, but her mouth found a curious smile.

J. Keystone

Location: Queensguard Industries R&D, Security Hub

The most basic of internet searches found the picture of the woman in question, including a good, clear one with her wearing a lab coat and looking directly into the camera. Keystone still had no idea who this person was, but the name was the important part. Between that and an image, he was good to begin his pitch to the boss. Oddly, the large man reflected on where he might have seen the face before, positive that he had checked everything that he had access to bearing said name. In the end, he decided to ask the guy in the know and not to try to puzzle out that difficulty himself. Positive that he was doing the right thing, Keystone attached a copy of the photo to a text message and sent it off to Caesar:

"You know who this is? Name of Dr. Amy Chang, recruited your friend Natasha to Justice Memorial. Hope this ain't an issue."

After he sent it off, Keystone noted with deepening concern that this lady was a roller derby aficionado. No, nothing could be rightly done about it just that second, so with some resignation Keystone had to sit back and wait for the rest of the background check to go through. With any luck, this was a thing that would blow over, a mere detail in the general, overall works.

La Hacienda: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico: There were several awkward silences between Maria and Natasha as they sat in the garden. Slowly they began speaking in Spanish to each other. A little bit here and there, mostly about Alicia. Natasha didn't enjoy speaking of what she had observed in the autopsy so she kept it as vague as possible. Letting Maria know Alicia was a fighter, telling her she hadn't suffered - which was obviously a lie and Maria knew it but she didn't hold it against the woman. It seemed like she was trying to be as kind and understanding as possible.

Liam in the meantime would whimper and sneeze and cry from time to time. Maria doing what she could to comfort the baby but it was becoming more obvious that she just couldn't do it. There was more going on. "Would you?" Maria finally asked. Natasha knew it wasn't a good idea for her to examine what she was sure was a sick child considering her immune system was basically nothing at this point but it didn't stop her. "Si," she said before explaining she needed her medical bag and it would probably be bet to go up to her room so she could get it and do an examine up there away from the people mourning. She didn't feel the family needed anything else to worry about. Maria nodded and picked up little Liam in her arms before following Natasha through the place and up to Natasha's room.

Diamond District: Zoie sat and spoke with her stylist for a bit while Wayne kept his attention on Mali. "Now don't you worry your pretty little head. I am sure we can come up with something that will be fitting of a goddess like yourself. Girl, oh, I know!" he said in an excited voice. "I will start here, pull back there, braid there, tuck here. Yes, yes! It will be fabulous! A strong yet feminine look. Soft waves here, pulled up and off your shoulders here. Let us frame that face, show off that line. Of darling you are going to be the hit of the season tonight!"

The man was beyond excited at this point as he lead Mali over to the wash station so he could wash her hair and get it nice and clean before he started. "Just a quick wash. I will want to trim your ends a bit, get rid of any split ends, nothing that will change your day to day look. I promise. So just lean back and relax. I have the hands of a magician."

Police Department: Station 54: Roy looked over towards Riley. "You know the man?" he asked as he covered the phone and listened to Riley. Pulling out a notebook and pen he slid it over to Riley. "Can you write down a bit of what you know about the man while I deal with this shit?" he whispered before removing his hand from the receiver and turned his attention back to his call.

"Okay slow down? You were attacked There hasn't been any reports of an attack at Boston Heights. When did this happen?" Gregory said confused. He was sure if anything had happened at Boston Heights he would have been informed, especially since his boss had just chewed him out. Pulling out his small pocket notebook he flipped it open and got ready to take notes himself. He glanced over at Riley and sighed. If there was another attack at Boston Heights there was no way he was taking her home.

FBI Headquarters Justice: Taking the photo frame Marc looked at it one last time before placing it back on his desk and nodded. "Yeah, let me make you a copy," he said as he opened his desk drawer and pulled out a flash drive. It only took a few minutes for him to access the file copies of the various new coverage during the shootout. There were several of them, including footage that hadn't been aired because of various reasons. This was uncut footage.

"Here you go," he said before making a note on the outside of the flashdrive just to label it and then handing it over to her. "The files are coded, give me your cell number and I will text you the access information so you can keep it locked up in case something happens to the flashdrive itself," he added as pulled out his cell phone and unlocked it. "There might be something there your station doesn't have in evidence. Who knows maybe a fresh set of eyes will see something I haven't. I've gone over that footage until my eyes crossed but I still think I may have missed something. Maybe I just hope I am and it isn't as clear and cut dry as people are making it out to be..."

Justice Asylum: Iris would be able to find what she needed on Jaina, the files were locked and such but it would require her as her attending to request them and such to get what she needed. The phone in Iris's office rang about twenty minutes later. It was the front desk. "Yes, Dr. Kingston? I have a Risa Couri here to see you. She says she is from the United Nations and is here as a translator. Should I send her up?" the woman at the front desk asked. Risa smiled slightly towards the nurse. A man had come in with her but he was sitting down in the lobby just watching Risa at this point. "He with you?" the woman asked as she waited for Iris' answer. "Yes but he won't be going up with me."

Priya took the flashdrive and pocketed it quickly. She also took out her cellphone and exchanged numbers. Thankful that their first interaction didn't set the precedence of the rest of their talk, Priya stood up. "For your sake, I hope so as well. I will do my best to figure this out and put it to rest. You have my word." She had her own battles she faced constantly. It was part of the reason she pushed herself so hard at closing these old cases. So that answers would be given, for good or ill.

She offered her hand for a shake. "It was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for the information. If there is nothing else, I think I'll head back to the station and review this. I can call or text you later if I figure something out. Hopefully my partner is around finally." If there was nothing else, Priya would find her way back to the ground floor and leave.

Riley looked towards Roy and gave him a nod. "Went to high school with the man." Riley answered, she had known him in high school but she did small talk with him back in high school. She wasn't friends nor enemies with him back during her high school years, and she kept somewhat contact with him over on FaceBook. After the reunion she kept in contact with him as much as she could. Then Roy handed her a notepad and a pen, looking towards him for a moment and gave him a nod, she didn't see any problem with that. "No problem." Riley said as she took the pen and notepad and started to write down stuff that she knew about her friend Marc, and wrote down his phone number down on there as well in case he did need it.

Riley would occasionally look over at Roy as he started to speak over the phone with whoever was on the other end of the line, then she raised an eyebrow when he mentioned Boston Heights. That did make her worry, her place still wasn't safe at all, she even started to think about just finding a different apartment building in the city now at this point. "Who is it?" Riley finally asked in a whisper, she wasn't sure who was on the other end that Roy was talking with but if it was a Boston Heights tenant then that made her worry about the other person's safety.

Wayne's constant comparisons to divinity were really starting to make Mali uncomfortable. Once or twice she could brush off, near-constant use was like jabbing safety pins into her self-image. She liked attention as much as the next girl, and it would be crazy to say no to a compliment, but there was a certain point where it just got too far. Maybe his normal customers liked having their egos inflated such a ridiculous degree. Or maybe it was just in Wayne's nature to go overboard with everything, including compliments. Considering his everything else that might be the case. The source of his egregious nature aside, he seemed to have everything involving hair under control, so there was no need to worry there.

"I probably don't take good enough care of my hair. Getting rid of the split ends would be for the best," Mali admitted, as she leaned back into the wash station seat, as internally she pushed the awkward feeling from the compliments down with the earlier discomfort of having to treat employees as things rather than people. Hopefully she wouldn't run out of space to cram all those emotions by the end of the time it'd be important: the party later that night.

Felix Hausten

Location: Justice Memorial Hospital

Felix pulled the phone away from his face and sighed. Wait bad idea. His face suddenly hurt like hell with a pang of pain from the eye. When were those painkillers coming? He felt his face burst out with pain and he seethed in it. He knew about the insanity of his statement but he needed some solid conection to anything outside of this hospital room that was slowly becoming more and more akin to the sort of room his attacker would've been kept cooped up in.

"Well you see, I wasn't attacked at Boston Heights but I stay there. I was attacked at the asylum, but I have a firm belief that is going to be a break in into my apartment as well as others now that we are all out of them for as much as I know" he pasued and clenched his teeth, his talking becoming harder and harder to not rush. "There are dangerous men who have attacked me before, and i know they are going to take this opportunity to raid the apartments" he was getting too fast, too crazy sounding and erratic, there was no way some two-bit cop was going to believe him.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: La Hacienda - Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Cecily jumped a little, having not noticed Caesar come up to her. Truthfully, she could feel the anxiety attack coming on, with all of the strangers surrounding her in a situation she couldn't quite comprehend. She understood the basics, of course, but she had never been at a funeral quite like this one. However, it didn't feel appropriate to confess her own nervousness to Caesar. This was his daughter's funeral. It should be about him and his family, not about the anxiety of a guess.

"Yeah! Yeah, I'm good," Cecily said, taking a little sip of the sangria. It was sweet, but it had been more of a reflex: have a drink in hand, take a sip. At least it didn't taste horrible - it was actually kind of nice. "How are you holding up?" Cecily then asked, deflecting the attention from herself onto him. She glanced over at just the right time to see Thalia crowdsurfing, from what she could tell, and people wearing wrestling masks. It was a stark contrast to the subdued and quiet funerals she had attended before.

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum

Iris smiled as she found the files, even though they were locked. It at least meant that they were able to be found and that she'd simply need to put in a request. She spent the next twenty minutes or so filling out the relevant forms to put in the request for the files - and humming along to Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas is You. There had been enough sadness and darkness for the last twenty four hours, and in her opinion, it was never too early for Christmas music. She had fond memories of waiting up for Father Christmas as a child.

When the phone rang, Iris answered it quickly. "Allo, c'est moi," Iris said, then listening to the other end of the line. "Yes, yes, please do send her up. I will meet her by Jaina Sarbye's solitary room." Iris then hanged up the phone and put on her game face. With a translator, she should be able to figure out how to better treat her patient. And perhaps, Jaina might have more information on Cynthia as well. She hadn't heard anything from the FBI agent since she messaged him earlier that day. She made a mental note to contact him during her lunch break with any new developments, before heading back the way she had came.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: La Hacienda

To begin with, Caesar was a little confused as to why this young lady would be asking him how he was doing. He was usually the one who took care of others, in his own stoic, providing manner. She had been shot recently, not him, though she was taking it like a champ. But then it occurred to him: This was an occasion where he should be compromised emotionally. And in truth, he was. He had vented some emotion earlier and was not due for it again for a while, such was the odd way of his psychology. He would likely do so again, privately if possible. A glimmer of understanding touched Caesar. For the first time in a long while, he was supposed to be the one comforted. It felt strange.

"Yeah, as good..." he started. Caesar knew what the last couple of words were going to be in the sentence, and it was one that he hated. No, he couldn't bring himself to say "...as can be expected..." and not despise himself. It was a bullshit answer made to placate or show defeat. Instead, he changed the subject just a little. "Mostly okay, Cecily. Thank you for coming down here. I know it is not how you planned the next couple of days. And I know that it's partly for your protection so things cool down for you. But thank you for being here." Though gravelly, there was sincerity in his voice.

Then his phone went off. He took it was a blessing to break the tension, and gave it a quick look. There was a message from his Acting Director, Keystone. His face hardened as he read it. "What do you know about Dr. Amy Chang, Cecily?" Some of the people in Juno didn't like the way things were going, according to the recording Alicia left them. This might be a pivotal moment, else someone else in his house had a lot of explaining to do.

J. Keystone

Location: Queensguard Industries R&D, Security Hub

Keystone grunted in frustration. The hold music was still playing, he really didn't want to speak with anyone in marketing right then anyway, and he may have uncovered a potential difficulty in the whole mystery/"seek the guilty" mission that his boss was enmeshed upon. The only thing that kept him listening to classic rock tunes issuing from his phone, indicating that he was waiting for a representative, was that he didn't really have anything else to do right that second. He wished that he had something tangible in front of him that he could hit. Keystone could solve many problems with hitting, and had done so for many years quite effectively. But this wasn't really one of those times.

Unless he could find out who was in charge of their phone network back at corporate HQ. He had a special beating reserved for that guy.

Quietly, he resolved to hit the gym for a little while, just as soon as he was done with this call. Could take a while, though. So he continued to wait patiently. As the minutes progressed, he was made privy to a number of points of background that the new Tech people were uncovering. Most everything else was standard, but the devil was often in the details.

La Hacienda: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico: "Si, everything will be fine." Natasha's voice could be heard outside the door as it opened. Maria seemed to have a look of relief on her face as she coddled little Liam in her arms and stepped out of the room a time later.

"They will fill this?" she asked as she held out a piece of paper in her hand.

"They should but if they don't, call this number," Natasha added as she took the paper and jotted down a phone number and name. "Dr. Lopez and I worked together during a nonprofit trip. He is in Mexico city but a call and a mention of my name should get you take care of. If there is any problems just let me know," she said as the two walked down the stairs.

"Gracias. So you work in Justice?" Maria asked as they headed back out to the garden.

"Yeah, just recently started," Natasha answered as she made her way over to the bench to sit back down. It was obvious she was tired but she was holding it together. Maria asked why the change and Natasha began to fill her in a bit. She tried to keep it vague but it was obvious Maria wanted details. Maybe it was just to take her mind off things. Natasha had never enjoyed talking about her diagnosis or trials but the two were getting along. It had been sometime since Natasha had had a mother figure. She spoke of how when she was first diagnosis she had fled to Justice because of their oncology department and that she hadn't wanted to have her own co-workers always around when she was in treatment. "When I finally started to get better the dean of medicine wanted to hire me but I didn't want to stay," she said as she shrugged.

"Why was that?" Maria asked as Liam lay down on the blanket on the ground and was slowly dozing off as his grandmother rubbed his back gently.

Diamond District: "Oh gurl, don't ya worry. Seems like you spend all your time taking care of your body, let me handle the hair," Wayne said as he went to work at scrubbing and washing and conditioning Mali's hair. The man may have talked a mile a minute but he had skilled hands. Seemed to know exactly how much pressure to put, how warm to make the water, how not to let someone get a pinch in their neck having to lean back the way they did. It wasn't long until Mali was all rinsed and Wayne had finished toweling drying her hair as much as he was going to.

"Now, let's get you in my throne and get to work," he said with a bright smile as he cleaned up the station a bit and waltzed over to his chair, spinning it around for Mali to take a seat. "Just a quick trim is all you will need before I start dryin' ya. Put a nice glaze in your hair, it is going to shine like the dickens hun," he added with a grin. Zoie looked over from her chair and rolled her eyes a bit. Wayne was always flamboyant, had been ever since high school and from the way things were going it seemed that he just kicked it up a notch every year that passed.

Police Department: Station 54: Roy covered the phones receiver as he looked over towards Riley. "Some dude not making any sense," he said before he turned his attention back to the conversation on the line. He was jotting down notes from what the man said - Boston Heights, Felix Hausten, Asylum.

"Dude, I think I am missing some major information here. Just because you got attack at some home for the insane doesn't mean anyone is out to get you at home. You aren't connecting the dots," Roy spouted off into the phone. The man was talking as if Roy had been privy to anything that had happened to him, not like a person that actually needed the details and for someone to lay it out flatly. For all Roy knew right then, this Felix guy was someone that needed to be locked up at Justice Asylum with all this ranting and raving. Maybe he was the crazy one.

FBI Headquarters Justice: Marc stood up and shook the woman's hand. "Only one more thing of note. Please watch your six. This town isn't like others. We all know in our line of work that the worst can happen. We are prepared for it but if they can take a man like Lawson down... they can get anyone..." Marc warned Priya before escorting her to the elevator.

"Feel free to contact me if you need to," he said before bidding her a good day and stepping back over to his desk. He wasn't sure if he could trust her, he was lacking on trust these days. Too many people had stabbed him or others he knew in the back. He wanted to trust people but he had learned the hard way years ago that things weren't always that simple. Hell, even back in high school they hadn't been that simple but then again... Grimm wasn't exactly the normal Americana town anymore...

Justice Asylum: "Yes of course," the woman at the reception desk said on the phone before hanging it up. She explained where to go to Risa before handing her a visitors pass and buzzing her through. It wasn't long before the translator had made her way up the stairs and to the floor she had been directed to go to. The place was a bit of a maze even with the directions she had been give but she eventually made her way to the room she was told to wait outside of to meet the doctor that needed her as a translator. Letting out a bit of a breath she glanced around as she pushed her long hair back and off her shoulders. This was not what she wanted to be doing today but she did still have a job to do. With the building she had been working in in half rubble because of the bomb she figured she was lucky to get a call at all but then again, she had been in the building when the bomb went off, nearly died, had a surgery. They could have at least given her a bit more time off to heal. Nevertheless she was there now. She wasn't worried, Lucas was down stairs and she knew he would watch her back; he always did.

Priya rode the elevator down, deep in thought. She had more evidence now, thankfully. The next step was to see where it led her. Marc's words echoed in her head. Watch your six. She knew the meaning (she'd seen war movies before). As a cop, you typically learned that watching your back was a good step at staying alive. Trust wasn't something you gave out freely.

To be honest with herself, she didn't trust the agent fully. He gave her information, but it would be stupid of her to believe him at his word. She wanted to believe that he wanted to find out the truth. She would have to see for herself.

She stepped off the bottom floor and walked outside to her car. Once inside, she set the newly acquired evidence on the seat beside her, checked herself in the visor mirror, and started the car. Next stop, police headquarters.

Mali just relaxed as best as she could (not the easiest task for her) and let Wayne work. He knew way more about this than she ever would, so she wouldn't try being helpful or anything cute like that. With these types of things, trying to help only made things take longer or created mistakes where there wouldn't normally be any. The deep subconscious dredged up a long forgotten memory of her mother cutting off more hair than expected due a sudden fidget, resulting in her having to have the rest sheared so everything would be evened out. For weeks after that all the kids in her class said she looked like a boy. In hindsight, maybe that moment had a bigger impact on the course of her life than it appeared at the time.

When it was time to move stations again, Mali grabbed as much hair below the neckline as she could fit in her fist and loosely held it off when she moved to the throne as Wayne put it. She didn't want any of the leftover water to soak into the robe and be a slight irritant for the next 10 minutes. Yes, it was something incredibly minor, but incredibly minor things tended to poke the edges of your mind the hardest. Like when you put on a sock rotated slightly too far to the right so that the heel was place slightly off-center and your toes were squished together as a very slight angle. Trying to go on with the rest of your day with your sock on like that would be madness, so you took off that sock and put it back on again. Same principle.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Police Department Station 54

Riley looked at Roy and raised an eyebrow towards him as he answered her question, she wasn't really sure what that meant then Riley's eyes wondered over to what was being written in his notepad. And instantly froze when she saw that he had written down Felix's name down on the paper and also it mentioned Boston Heights. Riley knew that Felix was still in the hospital as far as she knew that would probably be the safest place for him now. "I know Felix, he lives in Boston Heights as well." Riley answered, she mentally hit herself she wished that she would have been there the rest of the evening to make sure that he was alright

"The reason why I was at the hospital last night was because he got attacked by my old classmate who also happens to be a resident there. We need to make sure that he's okay." Riley said looking directly at Roy, the thought did cross her mind that the guy who had tried to kill her last night might be there just waiting for her. "I owe it to him to make sure that hes okay, maybe he might have information that could be useful."
