Nicholas (Nick) Dalton

Mission: Lost Necklace
Clearbrook Town

"A... Mission? F-for who?" Luna asked curiously, if these two were hear on a mission it would make sense, but in her opinion, walking around in the cold looking for a necklace that could be buried deep in the snow didn't sound inviting to Luna. "I was... Looking for the ski resort... Know where it is?" she asked as she breathed on her hands to try and warm up. She kicked the ground a little bit out of boredom before she had kicked something out of the snow. Luna thought it was just a rock, but the object made a slight jingle sound as it fell to the ground, she picked it up and surely enough it wasn't a rock, but a necklace of some kind.

"Uh... Is this... What you're looking for?" she asked, showing both Nick and Inari the piece of jewelry.

Nick was answering Luna's questions, "The mission is for a girl that lives in Clearbrook Town. It's my first mission as part of the Helping Hand Guild. Inari here isn't in the organization, but she'll get rewards for helping I think. If you want to help too, I think we can have a third person" This seemed to satisfy Luna's question as she moved on with another. "Oh the ski resort? It's over that hill. I don't blame you if-" That's when Luna kicked up the necklace and showed it to Nick and Inari...

Nick's jaw dropped as Luna casually held up the item. The source of an entire night's worth of frustration, and it was discovered by dumb luck. Nick took a deep measured breath before replying. "Yep, I believe that's it."

Luna handed the necklace to Nick. He opened his Pokedex to inspect the piece of jewelry against the picture provided in the mission description. As he suspected, it was the right one. The time was also displayed on the Pokedex, 7:30.

He was tired, and looking around, he could tell that the others were tired as well. They wouldn't have the energy to make it back into town all at once. They needed to rest. So he sent the little girl a message, We found your necklace, but we need to rest. We will return the necklace later today.

After a quick conversation with his new teammates, Nick and friends were in agreement. In less than an hour they were checking into the ski resort. Lucky for them, the resort offered free rooms for completing the task that their own staff had given up on. Cozy and warm, each in their own room, they could sleep soundly. When they woke, they would return the necklace and claim their prizes.

♪♫♪ Cecilia "Cici" Taylor ♪♫♪

Location: Stellanova City

@Zarkun

Lights flickered and pulsed in the dark water, red and yellow, brightening as they rose to the surface. The sea, which resembled the star-filled sky, should have been a breathtaking sight, but Cici looked away and hurried along. They were just Staryus and Lanturns, she knew that, yet they brought back memories of rather different Pokemon, ones that had lured her through the shadows of an enchanted forest with that mesmerising glow...

Shuddering, she cradled the little grey kitten. "Come on, Nocturne. I know cats like to be out and about at night, but it's going to be a big day of exploring tomorrow."

Nocturne, as alert as Cici was exhausted, simply stared ahead at something that glinted in the street lamps. With surprising speed for a hatchling, the Meowth leapt from her trainer's arms and raced forward, batting and pouncing on some dropped bottle caps. Unused to running around, she staggered and tripped over her own paws.

"Easy there, little one!" Rushing to the cat's side, Cici checked that Nocturne was ok before picking her up. "You can play once we're at the Pokemon centre. Look, we're nearly there now."

Once inside the building, no sooner had Cici retreated to her room and set out food for her Pokemon that her phone rang. Recognising the number, Cici smiled. It had been quite some time.

"Hey!" she said as she answered, her tone bright despite her tiredness. "It's been a while, how's everything going?"

The kitten turned around, eyes narrowing at her trainer's attention being on someone else. With a loud meow, she clambered onto the bed, then onto Cici's shoulder, trying to nuzzle the phone out of the way and purring as if to drown out Tommy's answer. "Ow! As you can probably tell, the egg hatched," the musician added with a chuckle.

This Pokemon was going to be a handful. An irresistibly cute handful though, Cici thought, reaching round and petting the little cat.

Adriana City

Isaac sheepishly stepped out of the building that housed the laboratory, unable to fully process his first official day of being a pokemon trainer. Adriana City's lab was located in the luxurious part of town and he couldn't shake off the funny way the employees looked at him. Was it his boring outfit? What about his glasses, were they the problem? A very self conscious and jittery Isaac took a seat on the ground and began to rummage through his backpack. The sleek and shiny pokeball and pokedex contrasted the heavy wear and tear of his bag, and for a moment he felt guilty, as if he stole something. Maybe people will think that!, he thought nervously. Having worked at an auto repair shop for most of his life, he was used to being filthy and sitting down wherever, but that philosophy wasn't exactly compatible with this part of the city. Isaac stood up, and returned to the humbler streets near his home.

Becoming a pokemon trainer was something he never in a million years would have done. If it weren't for the revelation of his mother being alive somewhere, he would have probably stayed at the shop his entire life, not that he had a problem with that. And as he began to get lost more and more in thought, the sight of a resting magnemite shocked him almost as much as a thunder attack from one of them would have. A steel type! With how familiar he was around machinery, Isaac decided early on that he'd capture and train one. The last thing he wanted was an unpredictable and dangerous animal to constantly have to deal with.

He had studied plenty over steel types a few days ago while he was still packing. Magnemite would eventually evolve into magnezone, a speedy and sleek fighter that had more in common with a fighter jet than any organic creature. This particular magnemite was in the dead end of an apartment cluster, not in a hurry to do much. It could hover away and escape, but this little urban advantage would at least make it tougher to do so. Isaac clutched his one and only pokeball like a stress ball, his sweaty hand struggling to correctly grip the polished and new material. On the other hand was a brochure on how to safely capture a pokemon, taken from the laboratory reception desk earlier. He knew all the theory behind it, and held it out of stress and a need to reassure himself more than anything. Isaac stared at the tools in his hands and then at the magnemite. I know the theory, but what about the practice?

He exhaled, raised a knee and pulled his pokeball arm back until it couldn't stretch any further. Gathering all his inner strength, he whipped his arm forward while vividly imagining a magnezone in his posession. Isaac missed. Isaac missed! So badly, infact, that the pokeball didnt even open due to how far it was from the magnemite. It smacked a nearby trash can and rolled back to him lazily, scaring off the pokemon and his confidence in one loud bang. And as he waddled over to pick up his one and only pokeball, something else seemed to have noticed him.

A scraggly mareep emerged from the shadows. It was covered in grime and cocked its head at the nervous visitor in front of him, curious as to why he flung a shiny rock at its home. He was hesitant to try and capture the pokemon, but figured he had no choice but to at least try.

Isaac straightened out the brochure and held it directly in front of him. The first step to catch a pokemon like one of the pros, it said, was to ensure a distance of around seven meters. A smile slowly crept on the boy's face as he realized that he had already achieved that. "Okay, now for step two!", Isaac exclaimed, triumphant. He lowered the brochure to look at the pokemon again. Something was odd. "Weren't you further away from me?" He muttered nervously, as it seemed to have moved closer to him while he was distracted. His eyes stared at the cute infographics within the brochure and sought further instructions. He quickly looked in front of him again and the mareep looked even closer. It was to Isaac's horror that he realized that the filthy little sheep was slowly walking towards him.

"S-Stay back!" he shouted, but the animal ignored him and continued to inch forwards. Was it angry? Scared? DEFENSIVE? CURIOUS!? HUNGRY???!!! Isaac entered a state of total panic and alternated between gawking at the pokeball, the brochure, and the dirty sheep in front of him. The mareep was unaffected by his meltdown and stopped to stare at the trash can. It headbutted the trash can. And again. And again. And a few more times. Isaac was bewildered at how happy it looked. Did it..... like the noise? Seeing such a ridiculous display convinced him to leave the area and ditch the mareep. The only problem was that it was now him who was cornered in the dead end and it was the mareep who was eager to approach him.

Isaac looked at the pokeball again and generated an idea. He'd lob it at the trash can to join in on the noisy fun. It was an industrial garbage bin with a large surface area so it would be hard to miss or hit the mareep. And afterwards, he reasoned, the pokeball would just roll back to him and he wouldn't lose it! And then the pokemon would be distracted and he'd just go and catch a steel type! With a confident smile, Isaac threw the pokeball. He missed the enormous target spectacularly and the pokeball hit the mareep in its rear. It snapped open and shut before Isaac could yell out an apology. Mareep was caught.

Tommy Johnson|Enroute to the Atana Mountains

When Cici picked up and asked how he was, Tommy could only note how glad he was that she had made it to Stellanova safely. If he was honest, he wasn't sure that he had been OK with leaving her alone after the Fey Hallow incident, but he also knew she wouldn't accept any kind of coddling. As he opened his mouth to answer her question though, a purring sound came through the phone, causing the trumpet player to chuckle. Meowth's were greedy and jealous Pokemon, so he wasn't surprised by it's attempt to chase him away. "I can tell indeed. My egg hatched too, and the little gal, an Axew who I've named Xena, is more than ready to start training of her own accord. Tried to get in the mix soon as she had her balance figured out. Amica's working with her now."

Tommy's smile grew as he watched his Pokemon train, pride at their trust in him and each other swelling in his chest. "You won't believe this, but I have three evolved Pokemon. Amica's a Frogadier now, Jerus a Kirlia, and Epsilon's an Ivysaur." He took in a deep breath before continuing. "I'm about a day's hike from Atana, so I thought I'd see how things are. Cell service will be really spotty once I'm there."
