Personal Style: Dean prefers to keep it casual. He's usually seen wearing a loose t-shirt and jeans, with a flannel jacket thrown on top. He doesn't want anything that's going to restrict his motion and range of movement, as his mutation would be useless otherwise. But if there's anything Dean loves, it's a good pair of shades. With his "messy" hair (that takes about 20 minutes to get just right with the proper product), his shades make him feel like a badass.

Personality: Dean has always been an easy going individual. He rolls with the punches and sees where life leads him, never being one to sweat the little things or have overly complicated long term life plans. While he's capable of rushing from place to place, he wants to enjoy life as it happens, rather than trying to skip ahead to a later part. Yet many people sometimes mistake this nature for apathy - but that couldn't be further from the truth. Dean cares fiercely about his friends and family, and he's willing to do whatever it takes - no questions asked.

But just as he is caring and protective, Dean is also a bit sensitive. Rather than being the stereotypical boy that doesn't cry, Dean shows and expresses his emotions. Sometimes, it can make him seem a little bit petty or stubborn, but he wears his heart on his sleeve. He's honest with the world and expects that the world will be honest with him in return. Sure, it's a little naive and idealistic - but that's just the way Dean is. He sees the best in everyone and tries to do his best in exchange.

How did you discover your powers: When Dean was thirteen, he had gone to the park with his baby sister, Carrie (then five). He and Carrie had been running all over the place, laughing and just enjoying themselves. He had taken a moment to grab some water and when he looked up, Carrie was on the top of the play structure, teetering a bit - before taking a big jump and falling at least fifteen feet. He had no idea how she got up there, but before he knew it, his water bottle was on the ground and he had caught his sister in his arms. The fall should have killed her. And it was later that evening that Dean realized it wasn't humanly possible for someone to have that reaction time. He started testing his reflexes more and more, testing his agility and his speed. He and his parents eventually came to one conclusion - he was a mutant.

Why did you choose the side that you did?: Dean's had a relatively sheltered life. He hasn't been the victim of anti-mutant hate crimes. Sure, the occasional jerk at school would call him a mutie after he effortlessly beat them all at dodgeball or some other activity in gym, but he never really listened to them. He just doesn't see why the world has to divide itself into labels - why there's a need to put people into categories and then treat them differently. The X-Men's ideals align nicely with his own - there's no need to see mutants as different. They're all just people trying to make sense of an illogical world at the end of the day.

General History: Dean's parents were killed in a car accident, leaving him and his little sister, Max, orphaned. They had been living in New York City at the time, though neither Dean or his sister were old enough to remember their parents or their home. Unfortunately, they didn't have any extended family willing or able to take them in, resulting in Dean and Max becoming wards of the state. They were moved from group home to group home, with the system trying to keep the siblings together. Dean ended up being adopted by the Kesseli family, while a woman named Delilah Camelio adopted Max.

While not all adoptions worked out, Dean got lucky. His adoptive parents were very kind and supportive, wealthy types that were not able to have children of their own. They paid for Dean to go to any summer camp he wanted, ensuring that he had the best education, and reading parenting books religiously in their attempts to be the very best. He grew up loved and had almost entirely forgotten about his biological sister by the time he was five.

He was eight years old when his parents brought home a miracle - a bouncing baby girl named Carrie. Dean became rather protective over her, trying his best to step up to the plate and gain responsibility. His powers saved his sister's life and while his parents loved him, they knew that the climate surroundings mutants was worsening. They did their research and learned about Xavier's Institute for Gifted Children and told Dean that if he wanted to, he could go to school there - and be around other people with abilities.

At first, Dean was skeptical - he felt like he was being sent away because he was different. But he didn't feel different - he was just like anyone else, only he had a gift. Yet when he saw a news report about the X-Men saving the day, Dean realized that going to the Institute could be a good thing. He'd learn more about his abilities and hopefully be able to join the team that saved the world. Of course, in the back of his mind, he can't help but wonder if his long list sister ended up at the Institute. He had tried searching her and her adoptive mother on Google, only to find that Delilah Camelio had been killed by one of her adoptive children - a mutant.

He's been at Xavier's Institute for most of his high school career, going home during the summers to be with his family. Dean's got a lingering suspicion that Carrie is a mutant as well - but there's nothing he can prove yet. She's so young, only ten years old. He's lucky - he passes for human. Not all mutants can.
