Yeah, I had someone else asking me about that earlier in the PMs and I explained that there was no way for the US to go to Russia. They are too concerned with their homeland to do anything about it

I can help you with your Tagalog if you'd like, but really it depends on what island and region your Filipino is coming from. Because they could end up not using Tagalog at all but rather a regional dialect, like Visayan, Ilocano, or Cebuano, etc.

Yeah, I know. My preliminary outline right now is that he was the younger brother of a soldier who was killed in Manila, and has a grudge against whoever did it?

Given the Japanese government installation, it could make sense for him to be a spy-type with knowledge of Tagalog, English, and Japanese but I'm pretty sure your character is already in that niche.

I also need to take the weapon loadout into consideration. Given the Japanese/American conflict in the Pacific would Arisaka/M1903 or Type 100/M3 Grease knowledge make sense?

Naomi is more based around the European side of things, rather than the Asian side. I don't see a problem with a different style of spy/agent.

Regarding weapons, I would imagine they probably wouldn't have knowledge of the Type 100, but rather the M3. I'm not sure how many Type 100s were produced here, but there was only twenty thousand Type 100s or so produced in our timeline, and they were Japan's only submachine gun. M3s would be more likely, but they didn't enter service until around 1944. Perhaps a Thompson or a BAR (two of my favorite WW2 weapons, to be honest) would be more fitting since those were common in the Pacific before the M3 was introduced.

Your point on the gun is true. So maybe a Thompson SMG, and as a sidearm, a Nambu or 1911?

Either one works. The Nambu would be easier to resupply since we're fighting Japanese, but the M1911 would be common too among those from the Philippines and maybe the Soviet Union/British Raj the Americans supplied them like they did in our timeline. However, it might be harder to resupply the M1911 (same with the Tommy, since they take the same round unless you want to be super specific with your variant), since while the Americans did export .45ACP, I'm not sure if they were able to export them with the Japanese invasion happening. The Japanese had captured enough .45ACP in our timeline to use in limited standard service, but I'm not sure where it would be used.

In terms of ammunition for .45 ACP, I suppose it's possible there are underground cells with stocked American ammo, from pre-Japanese invasion. Keep in mind before 1942 the Philippines were an American overseas puppet state so it's possible that some supplies would be sneaked underground.

Probably but I imagine most of it would be dragged out to combat the Japanese, or pulled back home after the Japanese conquered the islands. Ultimately it's up to @LetMeDoStuff.
