You wake up, confused and unsure of your surroundings. Perhaps in a chair of an abandoned room, or on the cold hard ground. None of this is familiar- and definitely isn’t where you were supposed to be. Last you checked, you were supposed supposed to be a new student at Hope’s Peak Academy, the most prestigious school in Japan—perhaps in the entire world. And yet, now you’re here…

“Upupupupu! It’s time for another killing game! Can you feel it!? The blood pumping through your veins from this heart-pounding excitement!? I can’t possibly wait any longer!”


Welcome to the reboot of Danganronpa Alternate: Apologies to Hope, a DR roleplay! Thanks to all who are reading! Now, before we begin, I’ll clarify that you don’t necessarily need a running knowledge on the series lore in order to participate. It’s more or less standalone, though the plot line, specifically the general plot twist, will relate to the series as a whole, so it may be more interesting for fans of the series. Additionally, this is a reboot of an RP that recently died, and thus some of the players from that one are carrying over, but we're in need of more players, so don't be shy!

To explain it really quickly for those who aren’t fans, basically Danganronpa is a series where high school students from Hope’s Peak Academy- who are recognized as being the best at what they do (ie Super High School Level (or just SHSL) Swimmer, SHSL Photographer, SHSL Gambler, etc- the concepts are pretty limitless)- are trapped by a mysterious monochrome bear, Monokuma! And if anybody wants to leave, they will be allowed to- if they can successfully get away with murdering another student.

If you want any more explanation, just let me know! I don’t know how many people would be interested who don’t already know the deal, hehe.

So here’s some important information/rules (Please read!):
1. Every person must be dedicated to posting at least once every two weeks. I know life happens sometimes, but under normal circumstances, you should be able to post that often. If you can not post at least once every two weeks, please do not apply.
2. One of you guys will be our mastermind! Whoever it is I’ll be letting you know, and we can talk out backstory privately (Note: I won’t be making you mastermind if you don’t want to be!)
3. There’s a two character limit, though I may raise that if there’s not a lot of interest. [EDIT: More than two now allowed]
4. You’re able to reserve a talent while you work on your character, if you want, so just let me know!
5. As GM, I have the right to approve or deny characters and certain events (i.e. anything super large scale, like how a murder does down), and my rule is law. However, I’m not a super power tripping GM, mostly I just say this in the case that I have to reject something but I can’t say why due to the fact that it relates to someone else’s character or it has something to do with the overall plot that I can’t reveal—but I’m not going to reject something without reason, and I will tell you that reason whenever possible.
6. There will be a Discord server for the group, and while you won’t be required to join, it’ll be more fun and it’ll keep everyone accountable.
7. I’m not really one to cramp people’s styles, but as a general rule the casts of DR games had mostly Japanese characters and an equal (or about equal) gender distribution, and while I’m not gonna force that, it is more in line with the canon DR installments.

Taka Tsuin / Taya Tsuin

Talent:
SHSL Cross-dresser

Gender:
Taka is a male persona, Taya is a female persona.

Appearance:
Taya / Taka has amber eyes and waist-length beige hair. They stand at 1m69 and share the same general build, but the similarities end there for whatever persona they don at the time.

Taya leaves her hair untied and lets it flow freely. She also wears just enough makeup to make her eyes, nose and lips look a little smaller but not enough to make you notice she's wearing any at all. Her style of clothing is very much everything she deems cute, with the clothes she prefers always being some kind of sailor or school uniform. On her feet are always pumps, never any heels or sneakers. Black skirts and white blouses are her go-to standard, although she actively avoids showing too much skin so she can hide herself. Her voice is rather high pitched and clearly feminine.

Taka, on the other end, dresses more masculine. He ties up his hair into a low ponytail so it doesn't stand out as much as Taya likes to have it, but still applies makeup. His makes it so his jawline is more pronounced and make the eyes stand out, giving Taka a more imposing and hostile look as opposed to Taya's cuteness. He often wears brown & black male school uniforms and suits to hide his body in, but his shoulders are noticeable broader than Taya's. He also likes to wear very business, or just plain old-fashioned, shoes. His voice has a medium pitch and is clearly that of a male's.

Personality:
They act differently based on the persona. 

Taya is a very sweet and gentle person who has everyone's best interests at heart. She can be a bit of an airhead and doesn't pay much attention to detail, but her bubbly attitude makes her very sociable and tolerant. She's very easy to get along with and it takes quite a bit of effort to upset her, but her trusting nature also makes her naïve. She prefers to think with her emotions rather than her head, so whenever people start fighting Taya will try to act as a mediator and defuse the situation.

Taka, on the other hand, is foulmouthed and abrasive. He'll constantly try to push everybody away from him and dislikes interacting with other people. He's a very logical but also nihilistic thinker, constantly pondering about everything and everyone. He's got his head on straight, but is relatively easy to anger if you get confrontational with him. He has an easier time concentrating and thinking logically compared to the Taya persona, but his lack of social skills make him a terrible diplomat.

Backstory:
Taya/Taka have practically been cross-dressing since birth. Even back in Kindergarten, they'd dress up as a male one day and a female the next. At first the kids thought they were twins, alternating one day after the other, but as Tsuin grew older people started to realise it was the same person dressed in different outfits. The female persona always garnered a lot of attention and was doted on by everyone, while the male persona was often left ignored and even bullied. Still, they soldiered through life and had nothing much to complain from when it came to their parents, as they were very accepting of the nature of the cross-dressing. Their life wasn't particularly exciting, but the family got by and was relatively happy with each other.

Ayu is pretty short, standing at only 1m52. Her jet black hair is just shoulder-length for the most part, but her front bangs are cut so it doesn't fall in front of her eyes. It's already hard enough with glasses covering them at all times, so Ayu doesn't need to have her sight messed up further by being unable to look at what's in front of her. She likes to dress in very loose clothing, sometimes even a size too large for her, which gives the girl a very baggy look to her. Her skin's fairly pale compared to most people, showing that she doesn't come outside as much as others. Her eyes are always unfocused and staring off in one direction or the other, giving her a very dazed look at almost all times. Her voice is also very soft and almost a little strained, but the pitch fits for someone of her size.

Personality:
Ayu can't seem to settle on one particular mood. She's often daydreaming or staring off into space and talking to her is always a shot in the dark. It's hard to tell whenever she's having a good or bad day, so her reactions to people approaching her can vary wildly for no seeming reason. In truth, she's a very deep thinker and doesn't like to be disturbed from her thoughts, except when they take a turn for the worse. Since she concentrates on thinking so hard, though, her face is always blank and empty as she forgets how to emote.

In general, Ayu is a serious individual with an extreme amount of apathy for those around her. She's more of the loner type and won't hesitate to speak her mind if people are annoying or upsetting her, preferring quiet solitude as opposed to crowds or having lots of friends. She'll try to be polite, but her way of thinking is abstract and incompatible with most people, so she won't notice whenever she says something strange or rude. Ayu is also too stubborn to realise when this happens, so getting an apology out of her only serves as an exercise in frustration. She doesn't actively try to be hostile or unfriendly, but her extreme boredom to the things happening around her usually come across as this anyway.

Backstory:
Ayu is a child born into a wealthy family, with her father being the CEO of a popular soft drink manufacturer. She's their only child, and is raised to take over the company once she's old enough. She's always avoided her parents, caretakers and the resident butler though, namely by hiding around the mansion she was living in. It didn't accomplish much, but she had peace and quiet.

Ayu was mostly left alone in schools too. Whenever kids tried to interact with her, she'd pretend to be busy or have something else to do. It was never true, of course. She just disliked social interaction and wanted to be by herself. The lessons were boring to her, but she was able to keep up without any issues.

Her life's been pretty boring, honestly.

Momoe Mizuno

Appearance:
Momoe has long, grayish black hairs that reach all the way down to her wait, mostly unkempt. She only keeps her right eye open at any time, with a cross-shaped scar running through the left one. Her right eye is a hazely brown, and a bag of exhaustion are permanently stuck underneath it. Momoe also likes wearing a long, torn duster that looks to be a size too large for her, coloured in a slightly lighter tone of gray compared to her hair.

Her mediocre assets are well hidden beneath the chocolaty brown button-up she wears underneath her coat, but only the right half of it is tucked into her pants while the other side lazily dangles out. Said pants are plain and the same shade of gray as her duster, but again a size too large as well. It’s elevated on the right side and slightly sagged on the other, but with a black belt wrapped tightly around it to make sure it doesn’t fall off completely. Momoe walks around in sandals, with some plain white socks to keep her feet warm.

Personality:
Momoe doesn’t have much patience for other people. She’s rude, blunt and always walks around with a rotten expression on her face. She’s mildly foulmouthed, but is above petty name-calling for the most part. Talking to Momoe leads to her one eye constantly watching you like a hawk, as she’s very on-guard and quick to judge people. Trying to get on her good side can be difficult as she’s inherently suspicious of people, in part thanks to her talent.

Momoe isn’t afraid to call someone out. That isn’t to say she’s going to chew your head off for merely talking to her, though. If there’s some benefit to be gained from talking to someone, or someone has a skill or item she could make good use of, Momoe can be a surprisingly reasonable and lucid individual. It’s just that most people bother her with so much ‘useless shit’ that it caused her to become so toxic and hostile.

Backstory:
Momoe grew up in a pretty bad household. Her father left her before she was even born and her mother often neglected the girl growing up. She often snuck things into the house and hid them somewhere, or stole something from her mother to share with the people she met at the local station. One of her friends was Kei, a sort of big brother figure to her. He was a working adult, as far as she knew anyway, and looked out for the girl while she got him alcohol and cigarettes she nabbed from her mom. Kei always helped her in a pinch, but wound up being a bad influence in the end.

Lilly Hart

Ultimate (SHSL) Hacker:
Lilly is, as put by the Hopes Peak Board, “An incredibly talented hacker, a nigh prodigy in the field.” While her knowledge and skills extend into other branches of programming, her primary talent is finding, exploiting and breaching systems, allowing her to steal or destroy data, manipulate devices, and wreak havoc.

Appearance:
Lilly stands at approximately 5 foot, with short, greyish white hair, tipped with like pink highlights. She is of a slim build, possessing petite features, soft, pale skin, and deep blue eyes that drift into a light turquoise towards the pupil, and a particularly expressive countenance. While she bears something of a beautiful face and figure, her wardrobe is somewhat plain, boasting few particularly eye catching outfits, mostly consisting of unbranded shirt, jackets, skirts and trousers fit for most any occasion. Alongside this, she also carries a stuffed rabbit, which is somewhat worn from years of play, is missing an eye, and has a couple patches. She holds it tightly, often to her chest, and toys with it when nervous.

Personality:
Quite the bundle of energy, Lilly is a very animated character, loving fluffy animals, parties, and anything fun. Though being somewhat quiet, she is a very animated character, with a wide range of facial expressions and actions that she uses to great effect, able to illustrate how she feels even without vocal verification. At first, she can often be mistaken as shy, however prolonged exposure to her nature sheds light on how wrong such an assumption is.

Lilly is also a very capable individual. She can easily keep calm under pressure, and has a selectively eidetic memory to boot, allowing her to identify and solve issues quickly and effectively, much the same as she does in her work (just don't expect her to remember your name). Her lack of emotional response in stressful situations occasionally elicits worried and curious questions from her peers, although she tends to ignore them.

Another facet of her personality manifests in boundless curiousity. She has an insatiable need to know how things work, especially when it comes to people. It led to her interest in coding, and hacking, and everything she ever does. She also expresses some blurred moral concepts, though she likes to keep them hidden as to not disturb or concern her friends.

Backstory:
Lilly was as much of a normal child as one could hope for. Healthy, kind, friendly and fun. At least for the first few years of her life. The moment she was introduced to the internet, though, sparked something of a change. She was intelligent, that had been noticed, but the extents to which her intellect reached were far beyond what her family had imagined. She was programming websites at age five, and manipulating systems not long after. Suddenly she was drawing in money from God knew where, and though her parents were happy, they were somewhat worried, as any self respecting parent would be.

The truth came out several years later, when she was questioned by the FBI. She had been acting as a White Hat since age seven, and had been feeding information in the form of anonymous tips to the police for years after. Her exploits were finally acknowledged when she uncovered details of a prominent hacking group know as the Round Table, as well as a terror attack that they had been planning along similar atrocious act committed some years prior. Thanks to this, she was guaranteed a space in Hopes Peak as the Ultimate Hacker once it finally reopened.

Name: Hisakawa Hiroki

Talent: SHSL Type A Student

Gender: Male

Appearance: Hisakawa is 5’8”, with pale skin, dark eyes, mid-back length black hair he keeps in a low ponytail. His build is pretty average, and contrary to what one might expect, he dresses pretty casually—a faded t-shirt (usually with some random English word on it), some old jeans, worn-out sneakers, and a gray jacket make up his usual attire.

Personality: Hisakawa is… kind of a weird guy. He’s not really creepy or annoying or hard to work with or anything, but he tends to act as if something bad is definitely about to happen. Like, all the time. He lives life like he’s going to die by the end of the day, mostly because he’s convinced that he just might. Though calm, he seems to do things that limit his connection to being a normal person, such as not eating or sleeping in front of people, and acts fairly carelessly and recklessly, at least when it comes to his own self-preservation.

However, while he doesn’t really care for himself anymore, he cares much more for other people, and tries to be careful about how others perceive him, how he makes them feel, and most importantly, how useful he can be to them. Hisakawa pretty much assumes that unless he’s directly helping someone, his presence would just be bothersome. Not to mention, he’s most relaxed when there’s some task to attend to, even though he doesn’t believe he’s genuinely good at anything (what the hell kind of a talent is “Type A Student”, anyway?).

Backstory: Not a whole lot is publicly available on Hisakawa’s life, but what is known about him is that he was incredible academic prodigy, achieving stellar grades from kindergarten on along with all sort of extracurricular activities that he somehow always seemed to balance, even through stressful life events, such as several moves between the US and Japan. However, a few months into his first year of high school, things started to fall apart. He began dropping activities, and grades became harder for him to maintain. Logically, it’s most likely that the difficulty became too much for him, but the drop was so sudden that it doesn’t seem to be the case, especially since he did just fine earlier in the year. Not long after, he dropped out of school and ran away from home, with no word to where he went or why he left. However, he resurfaced with an invitation from Hope’s Peak to attend as the SHSL Type A Student, for the academic excellence he had maintained through most of his life.

Name: Himura Chikako

Talent: SHSL Rhythm Game Player

Gender: Female

Appearance: Himura stands at 5’7”, has a tan complexion, and fluffy, chin-length hair and bangs that she dyes bright orange. Her green eyes are often alright with the passion of dance (or sometimes, the rage of “What do you MEAN it’s not real dancing!?”), and she wears a lot of bright colors to match. She wears an oversized orange crop top over a bright pink hooded tank top, purple athletic pants down the the mid-calf, and ankle high socks and orange sneakers.

Personality: Himura is a woman of relentless pride, passion, and energy. Some may consider it silly, even childish, for her to take so much pride in her top scores in DDR or Guitar Hero, but she does so anyway, regardless of what anyone thinks (and she’ll be sure to let you know just how much she doesn’t care). She always tries to keep things positive and have a fun energy, though passionate joy can easily become passionate rage in the right circumstances.

To her, competition is the spirit of friendship. She often attempts good natured squabbles and one-upmanship, though she knocks it off if people tell her to. Of course, her preferred field of battle is rhythm games, on which she has never lost. If she wins, she tends to gloat, if she loses, she’s not exactly graceful, but regardless, once she’s given time to cool down, she accepts the results as they are, and considers her competitor a new friend. Regardless, she always tries to be kind to others, though she suffers from being bad at reading people, and can sometimes come across as thoughtless when she genuinely just didn’t pick up on something.

Additionally, she tends to be impulsive, and tries to get things done the quickest and easiest way. She gets bored without something to do, and enjoys chatting with people about this, that, and the other thing. She does her best to be a force of positivity wherever she goes, and she accepts people for who they are and who they tell her she is, especially since she wants the same in kind.

Backstory: “The future? Eh, I don’t really know what I’m gonna do. Maybe I’ll just get so good at rhythm games that Hope’s Peak will accept me!”

Himura (known on the internet as RaRaRevolution, or RaRa-chan by her fans) listened to music all the time as a child, and as she went about her daily life, she became more attuned to the rhythm of the songs she listened to, and everything she did she started to do to the beat of the song that was on at the moment. Be it classical or country, hip hop or a movie soundtrack, Himura always found a groove to move to.

She played her first rhythm game when she was 12 years old, having recently moved in with her adoptive parents. Her agility and natural sense of rhythm lead to her totally crushing it, and by the end of the week she had gone above and beyond in earning the high score. Since then, be it dancing or music based, she’s played whatever rhythm game she could get her hands on, honing her craft into a veritable art form, earning herself a following on YouTube for her incredible level of precision and accuracy, which eventually got her noticed by Hope’s Peak.

Additional Info:
-She's pretty good with other types of games, but she prefers rhythm games to anything else.

Talent - Ultimate Thief:
Aurel is noted to have exceptional skills when it comes to snatching an item from someones hands without them even realizing it, or anything in the midst of the room in plain sight. However, this is usually done on impulse with no exact rhyme or rhythm to it all. To add onto it, he has the uncanny ability to sneak around without even trying, seemingly popping out of no where naturally. While he does have lockpicking down, he still needs to work on it from time to time.

Appearance:
Usually slouching over, Aurel isn't a very vivid individual aside from the clothes he wears, standing nearly at six feet if he didn't slouch as much. The height someone will usually find him at is around five feet and nine inches, usually with a dull or bored visage. His hair is just a constant mess; a jungle of white splayed out in random directions, looking nearly impossible to tame. Other than his wild case of bedhead, he does have smouldering blue eyes that seem to be usually devoid of passion, seldom lighting up with any bouts of curiosity or life. Finally, he does harbor a bit of an athletic build, more or less along the lines of a runners toned body.

When it comes to outfits, he is much more standout than his actual appearance. Aurel's usual duds are displayed above as he wears purple tinted goggles with a missing lens. He wears a black, sleeveless turtleneck underneath his peculiar purple jacket. It has an obvious triangular motif about the center and some parts of the sleeves around the shoulders are missing; design choice most likely. Along with that, he wears some baggy pants that went along with the set, and some black gloves. Parts of his arm have been wrapped up in bandages for some reason.

Backstory:
Well, for the most part, his childhood was rather uneventful and normal. Aurel was born to two German parents on the east coast of America, somewhere in a sleepy town of Virginia. Too good to be true with one parent acting as a lawyer and another as a stay at home mom; a perfect little nuclear family. Of course, their child did have a couple of issues.

Little Aurel was unusually quiet child who had some difficulty making friends and what not. However, he always had a tendency to... take things that weren't his... bah, enough sugar coating, he was a little thief.

It was around five years old when he started snatching. Of course, these were just minor things that seemingly wouldn't cost a fortune, ranging from spicy snacks that would make his nose dribble to the cutest of stuffed bears that would make any child squeal with delight. While it wasn't noticeable at first, his parents became alarmed over the amount of toys and teddy bear accumulating in their child's room, keeping receipts and the what not to identify whether or not they purchased said item... and of course, it did end up with little Aurel getting caught when their parents finally discovered the discrepancy.

They did return some of the items, lecturing Aurel and bailing him out of trouble, but it became evident that this was just the start of it all. Over time, his "heists" were bigger and bigger, more worrisome than the last. The family, for example, came home with a high-definition plasma screen tv without realizing it until they were unloading groceries.

They couldn't just return these items, namely out of fear over having their son missing out on future opportunities, and the fact that this could tarnish the Fuch's family reputation. So, they continued the same lifestyle, save for the fact that they were housing a criminal who had a penchant for taking anything he pleased.

However, a small organization of people did eventually catch wind of this, via pinpointing the location of where said thief was hiding. While they did think it was one of Aurel's parents, they soon discovered the error they made over who the thief was when Aurel managed to snatch some tasers and other priceless belongings from them without even realizing it.

Of course, this lead them to making a proposition with the parents, blackmailing them on keeping quiet about their sons antics and would reward the family a well, but in return, Aurel would help them. They ended up begrudgingly agreeing.

Over the next few months, America was hit with a crime spree by the organization known as the Crouching Tigers. While the name wasn't exactly original in many peoples eyes, they were on guard. Eventually they expanded to other places, concocting other heists in different countries. One of the more infamous ones was when the Mona Lisa was stolen once more and found in a mans apartment in Italy. While he was framed, the real instigator, but not the mastermind, was traveling home to Virginia.

At this point, his parents did end up becoming corrupted by greed based on how much money they were raking from their son. Their ideals became more warped when the Crouching Tigers ensured that the boy would catch the eye of Hope's Peak... and caught they did based on some of the videos sold to them over what Aurel did. Instead of turning the group and the family in, he was sent off to attend the prestigious Hope's Peak Academy as the Ultimate Thief, at the behest of his family, and the Crouching Tiger's.

And with that, he began anew.

Miscellaneous Info:
While he does seem to steal indiscriminately, Aurel is noted for having a high count of stolen stuffed animals, ranging from the smallest of teddy bears to fluffy dogs that are as large as chairs.

Does a bit of gardening in his spare time, thought he does seem to favor desert plants over others.

Aurel keeps earplugs on him; while his ears aren't exactly sensitive, he just doesn't enjoy loud noises... and by extension, most music, unless its classical or soft, smooth jazz.

He seems to have a penchant for spicy dishes over any other type of food.

Seems to nibble at his index finger when nervous or thinking.

Aurel's hair color is completely natural, surprisingly enough; his father and mother normally both have white hair as well, lending it to genetics as opposed to hair dye.

Snow’s wardrobe consists mostly of formal and princess like attires. Ties and bows, fancy dresses, intricate designs etc. all fit in her closets. Her hair has a platinum white color, which always seems to give of a faint white glow.

Backstory:
Snow grew up a single child in a family with two loving parents, she received good education, made lots of friends, and received plenty of love. And yet if you were to sum up Snow in a few words, she would be a spoiled, cynical, and arrogant princess. She judges people at first sight often, and with her low expectations of humanity, these judgments usually make her look down on most people. This in turn, caused her to dismay the people around her, and only rely on herself, because nobody else could right? But while she sees all other people as inferior, she is incredibly proud of herself, maybe even a bit narcissistic.

However, she is a master in the arts of cutting hair and can turn the most unwieldy and ugly locks of hair into something gorgeous, without even breaking a sweat. Although she can create most mainstream hairstyles, her real talent lies in the creation of truly unique and fabulous hairstyles. In her entire career, she has not once created the same hairstyle twice, yet each and every one was truly beautiful.

How she got into the profession was by cutting her own hair because she didn’t trust others to do it right; her parents noticed how good she was at it and put her on a hair-stylist class. Soon after she was scouted by hope's peak.

Flare usually wears black with contrasting colors. A jacket, a shirt, a skirt or skinny jeans all fit her like a glove. Though her trademark feathered shirt makes her recognizable from even far away.

Backstory: 
If you were to meet her face to face, her expression and attitude might tell you to fuck off, you’d feel unwelcome and all you could figure went on in her mind would be: Flare doesn’t give a shit; well you’d be half-right.

Flare can be very distant and annoyed at times, but she has a heart of gold; the whole reason she chose to train dogs using her uncanny ability despite disliking it, was out of pure good intentions. She recognized that she could help people and do good with it. She can be distant because she spends so much times with animals who are so very different from humans; and she can look annoyed because of the combination of heavy migraines and a resting bitch face. But she cares, if you just let her. 

However, there is another side to her, one a bit less refined and upstanding. In her quest to help others, she sometimes loses sight of what’s actually helping, and can tend to go further than necessary or wanted. Though in her usual fashion, she never admits to going too far, and can get quite heated when defending her actions.

As for her talent; Flare has never had a connection with animals, nor dogs in particular. And yet for some reason, her ability to train dogs is unmatched by even the greatest trainers in the world. With a single sentence and expression, she can let the dog know what she wants.

Personality: Boisterous and bold, Ryuma has decided that life is short, so he should do whatever he wants, whenever he wants to. He tries his best to be a good person, but thanks to his brother's more devilish mannerisms, he's got a bit of attitude. Ryuma wants to have a good time and will do his best to bring everyone along with him, whether that means making them happy or angry. He's a good sport but loves competition and exercise is his thing. 

Backstory: Ryuma grew up in a bad neighborhood with two older brothers, one being a half-brother, and his single mom. His brothers were both older than him by quite a few years and his eldest brother Ichirou left to be independent of the family when he was young. His mother was usually working all the time and he was mostly taken care of by his older half-brother Kouta. Kouta dropped out of his freshman year of high school and was often around the house while trying to get employed, but he couldn't hold onto a job for long.

Ryuma's family tried to help him stay positive and pursue his dreams, which were in sports. The problem was that sports equipment costed money, so he wasn't able to join any official teams. Instead, he found it fun to go around the neighborhood and climb anything he could get his hands on, even though his mother said it was too dangerous. When he got older, they moved far away where he heard about the tag games.

Tag games consist of two players, a chaser and a runaway, that would race against time in an extreme obstacle course for twenty seconds per round. After each round, they would switch and it was a great game to place bets on. He was always on a forever winning streak and gained attention from Hope's Peak Academy. Kouta, unfortunately, passed away of unknown causes, but he still wants to do his brother proud and finish his education even though Kouta never did.

Trivia:
-His favorite food is fried dumplings and sushi.
-He's a sucker for romcoms
-He's broken quite a few bones

Name: Naomi Fukuda

Appearance:
As a daughter of high society, Naomi usually wears collared, button-down shirts with pleated skirts or professional short dresses. She usually has the most recently trending professional long-haired styles for her hair, but now her hair is more of an asymmetric bob that looks as though it's been cut by office scissors. She's on the short side at only 5'3" and hates to be reminded of it.

Personality:
Naomi was always known as a compliant and accommodating girl in her youth. She has given up many artistic passions in her life over studying and is secretly an extreme fan of art museums. After a past incident, she has developed Insomnia which leads her to be quieter when the topic of hand disinterests her, usually daydreaming. Naomi's attitude has changed over the years and will make sure she's never treated unfairly, even if her idea of fairness may be convoluted. She's a fan of different cultures but usually tries to shy away from the subjects as to not appear weak. Don't mess with her if you don't want to get into a match of whose bark is louder.

Backstory:
Naomi is the firstborn of an extremely prominent clan in Japan with her grandmother at the head of the family. While they originally followed mostly Japanese traditions, the westernization of the country led the family to switch to European styled mansions and accommodations. As a child, Naomi was brought up on her own with a long list of nannies, butlers, maids, and tutors, although her parents would come to visit her often enough to watch her progression as an intelligent heir. Naomi wished to gain approval of the adults around her and worked hard in her studies and mannerisms throughout her childhood.

But at the end of elementary school, her life made a complete one-eighty. After an incident occurred at her family's vacation villa, Naomi's studies started to become subpar. She seemed stressed to no end and developed an Insomnia disorder. At the command of her grandmother, Naomi was stripped of her heir privileges, with her younger sister taking her place, and sent to live with a far off branch family. She was shamed for her negligence, but Naomi still tried her best to bring her studies back up.

After only a short while of staying with her foster family, Naomi's work ethic shot right back up. Even though she went to a public school, her abilities in linguistics caught the eyes of many supports and she was given her talent title. But her grandmother ignored her, not wanting to admit she had made the wrong decision to excommunicate her from the main family. Naomi lived with the branch family for a few years and grew to love them more than her own biological parents.

Word of her younger sister's death came in during the summer before her freshman year of high school. The main family needed her back as the heir to the Fukuda family. She was separated from her branch family and put into her own personal mansion, waiting to for school to start as she stared out her luxurious window.

Trivia:
-Her younger sister's name was Maeko (deceased). They had a difference in age of two years.
-Her biological mother's previous occupation was a model.
-Her father has the highest position at their company even though her grandmother actually runs it.

Ultimate (SHSL) Magician:
A Magician by all accounts, a master of trickery, sleight of hand and mystic arts. Though he has many tricks, his favourite has to be "Putting Casino's out of business". Once upon a time, and the reason he was invited to attend Hopes Peak, he was a famous Magician, despite his age, attending and performing at Live Shows and Birthday Parties across the globe. Perhaps even one of the best Magician's in the world. Of course... that isn't quite the case any longer.

Appearance:
Kihou stands at around 5 foot 11, with medium length, flowing blonde hair that down his back and over his shoulders. He's handsome, with something of a feminine hint to his countenance, offset with sharp, grey eyes and well built body. Despite what his Talent may suggest, his wardrobe lacks formal clothes in its entirety, instead comprised of jeans, different coloured, unbranded shirts, jackets, and a suspicious number of fingerless gloves. Around his neck are a set of dog-tags, each bearing their own inscription. Upon one reads "Only the cheated can be blamed for their loss.", and the other "Der alte wurfelt nicht".

Personality:
Professionalism. Tact. Generosity Kihou doesn't have any use for those things. When one thinks of Giyuko Kihou, one might associate him with the once and professional facade he took on - a Magician, to entertain the masses. Bright, cheerful, with warm and bountiful humour and a penchant for the theatrical. They might consider him a pioneer of modern magic, a prodigy despite his young age, who despite his fame never neglected to spare his time for smaller shows, and even the occasional birthday party.

The people that remember him as such would be sorely mistaken. Yes, magic was what brought him to Hopes Peak but the "Magician" the masses so fondly remember wont be found within him. Kihou is an asshole. An arrogant asshole. It can't be said that he loves to flaunt his skills to other people, more so that he was an absolute confidence in himself and his abilities that can seldom be over come, even when he is beaten. He is an upbeat, generally cheerful guy, as much so as that Magician was, but his warm humour and generosity have been erased and replaced with a snarky, dry, and generally dickish attitude and sense of humour.

The one thing that can be relied upon when it comes to his personality is his gambling addiction. It's no longer just something that he indulges in - instead it has sublimated into his being to become a fundamental component of the man that is "Giyuko Kihou". The risk of gambling is the ultimate form of ecstasy to him - the idea of placing your life savings, your worldly possessions, or even your life, on the line of what can almost be described as a game of chance is his pleasure. When it comes to gambling he will never turn down an opportunity to compete with another, no matter his relationship with the person or his own personal biases. Perhaps that love for risks is why he feels so comfortable within the confines of a Killing Game.

Backstory:
Kihou was young, as most of his fellows were. Like many others it was that time when he discovered Magic. An art form more than anything else, Magic allowed a person to suspend their sense of disbelief and just watch for some time, as the performer before them enacted feats beyond what should be physically possible. He grew up watching people like this, and found himself fooled over and over much like the audience did. It was captivating, pure and simple. He was fascinated.

As time went by, he attempted to become one of these Magicians. At first, like all that try, he failed. Magic didn't seem to be his calling. Slight of Hand, Card Tricks - none of it came naturally to him. It almost felt wrong for him to attempt it. But years passed, and slowly, that craft he fell in love with became his own. Dedication and practice, he came to realise, weren't just things you were told to delay your inevitable failure. Those words had merit. He started doing local birthdays parties at age nine, live shows in the city at age ten, and both across Japan at age twelve. By age fourteen he was doing shows across the globe, and began to amass a sizeable fortune. But then his career went downhill.

It wasn't as though he was losing his touch, and it wasn't as though people didn't want to come and see him. His audience spanned the globe, and everyone related to Magic as a practice wanted to meet him. That wasn't the issue. It was every time he turned on the TV, or went to YouTube, or went to a show. He was a master Magician. But everything he saw during those shows, he already knew how it was done. He could watch and perfectly predict every action, and flourish, and sleight of hand and twist in every single act. There was no suspension of disbelief. No realm of the mystical. No magic. It was boring.

By age fifteen Kihou had developed the gambling addiction that would alter his core being. Magic was boring. At one time there was thrill whenever he watched a trick, and ecstasy at the applause of his audience, but now he felt nothing. He needed a new kind of thrill, a new kind of pleasure - something to detract from the broing monotony of repeated magic tricks that his life had become. Gambling was the answer to that. Risking huge sums of money, his most prized possessions... body parts, his life...

Those kind of risks sparked something new in him. It was the pleasure, the ecstasy, the thrill that he was looking for. His skills as a Magician allowed a smooth transition, allowing for him to prove himself as an excellent gambler, despite his age. No casino would let up the chance to take money from one of the best Magicians in the world, and a kid, no less. Their false beliefs in his naivety cost many a Casino dearly in the year before his selection to attend Hopes Peak. Of course, at the time he was still recognised as a Magician, and not a Gambler. Thus, he was enrolled as such, and although he uses the title, he never considers himself truly a Magician.

Name: Izo Saitou
Talent: SHSL Fanatic
Gender: Male
Appearance: Izo stands at about 6' with brown, short but unkempt hair and piercing brown eyes.He is relatively lean and his skin is relatively pale,his usual clothing is a set of plain white robes along with several simple iron rings on his index,middle and ring fingers. Izo always stands straight and rarely slouches,  he also usually wears a rather neutral expression on his face but it does shift fairly often despite his attempts to not smile,laugh or cringe.

Personality:  Izo Saitou is a man who lives by two principles: determination and skepticism. His iron-will is one of his greatest assets but potentially one of his greatest flaws, once Izo has made his mind up it is very difficult to change it;presenting hard evidence is the only way to potentially sway him but even then he may reject it as a fabrication. On the other hand, Izo is highly skeptical and will relentlessly criticize anything he is unsure of to the point of straight up insults if he is not satisfied with the answers. Once his skepticism are satisfied however he will generally stick to his conclusions.

Izo generally has a cold demeanor stating what he believes as fact and vaguely dismissing what he disagrees with, after being confronted however Izo rapidly becomes more aggressive and almost frantic regardless of whether he has the upper hand in the argument or not.

Backstory: Izo Saitou was born into an poor family with no siblings, he spent most of his time as a  child searching for small jobs to earn whatever pittance he was paid to help pay the bills. After years of this he was presented with an escape from this life by a fringe religious organisation he encountered during one of his odd jobs, a simple preacher on a street corner that had captivated him. He had joined the religion and joyfully worked as one of their priests for some time,his family provided for thanks to members of the faith. He spent his new found time learning everything he could about the religion's customs and religions and rapidly became a very vocal and even influential member of the group, helping the faith grow exponentially in some areas with his passionate speeches and public events (whether that be helping the public or showing the groups own capabilities through their discipline). 

After some time Izo was scouted as a potential candidate for Hope's Peak Academy, at first he was reluctant and sneered at the idea of abandoning his responsibilities in the organisation, to his surprise however several key members of the faith urged him to join the Academy and explained to him the various benefits he himself would receive and the potential attention his success could bring to the faith. After some time and much urging he accepted. 

Naturally after joining Hope's Peak he awoke to find a small bear laughing manically and explaining the killing game and it's rules.
