Star Wars: The Aftermath

A post-Battle of Endor Star Wars RP

Star Wars: Aftermath is an RP based around the events following the Battle of Endor. The Galactic Empire is shattered and the Rebel Alliance has taken over most of the Deep Core. Declaring the New Republic, the Alliance has moved on from its previous structure into a cohesive government based out of the old Imperial capital world of Coruscant. While many celebrate the return of democratic governance, the New Republic faces a myriad of challenges. Its liberation of the galaxy is challenged by countless factions who also wish to take control of the fractured Galaxy. The war is far from over. What remains of the Galactic Empire has retreated to the Mid and Outer Rim while warlord factions establish their fiefdoms throughout the Outer Rim. At the same time, criminal organizations have taken advantage of the chaos for profit and seek to tighten their control over the black markets that once operated under the nose of the Empire.

Despite it all, the Galaxy appears to have entered an uneasy state of peace. The Galactic Empire and the Imperial Warlords are too busy consolidating power in their own regions to bother the New Republic. In the Outer Rim, the criminal syndicates fight their shadow wars in the underworld as they attempt to wrest control over the wider galactic black market. Even when these conflicts appear to be far away from the New Republic, the Republic itself is not free from conflict. Within the Galactic Senate and the upper echelons of Republic leadership, there is disagreement over how to handle what remains of the Empire and the criminal syndicates. Some want to consolidate the New Republic military and strike now while the remnants struggle while others want a more peaceful solution. Some have even suggested co-existence. But, Chancellor Mon Mothma has yet to pick a side. And many doubt that she will, something that could threaten her position as Chancellor.

@Honesty Crow I want to use a New Republic pilot, and create her own personal squadron with small biographies attached to them. Would you be against that?

They would be 'supporting characters' attached to my own. Imagine if I played Luke during his Rogue Squadron years, and had wingmen like Wedge and Dak attached to that unit. They would come with their own bios, but wouldn't be as fleshed out as my main character. Would you require a full bio even for a supporting character?

How many people would be in the squadron?

Six or Seven characters from unique backgrounds.

All right. How about four, including your character? It's just so you have a chance to work with other players if the opportunity arises. How's that sound?

Actually, the other characters were for others to interact with, but I can stick to four if it suits you.

Do you want Jedi to be fresh students or are you allowing some flexibility; for instance, would Luke have actual Knights in his Order by now, or just learners?

Since this takes place just a month or two after the Battle of Endor. So, the New Jedi Order is fairly small. The only other senior member of the Order is Mara Jade. However, if you make a character for it I'll take a look and perhaps make him a Knight or something of that nature.

Nah, don't worry about it. I didn't have a learner in mind. If I made one of the pilots Force Sensitive, that wouldn't go against your rule of 'becoming Force Sensitive during the roleplay', would it? Like, do they have to know they're Force Sensitive when the RP begins, or do I just need to label it in the template and they can discover it at their leisure?

Hello @Honesty Crow, this seems like a great RP in the making. I for one wouldn't mind making a Force-Sensitive learner for Luke and Mara but also a Zann Consortium enforcer. I am not sure if multiple characters per person are allowed, but I am always open to discuss things.

Yes. You'd have to label it in the template beforehand. After that, you can say whether they know it or not. I made the rule so characters don't suddenly become Force-sensitive in the middle of the RP. xD

For now, I'm only accepting one main character per person. I can make exceptions for secondary NPC characters you control. But there has to be a good reason for them. Like the person above who requested a squad for his character.

There are some events that I have planned out. Though, I am relying somewhat on what people can come up with on their own and how they react to their environment and such. It's why I added the factions. Once I have enough characters to get started, I'll put up events and then we'll go from there.

So those that belong to a faction are expected to work towards that faction's goals?

Yes. It depends on your character's goals and personality. They may be dissilusioned with the faction they are a part of and could work to undermine it. Of course, they are taking a great personal risk by doing so. My ultimate goal with this RP is seeing characters grow as people during the different events that are happening across the Galaxy. The while Galaxy is in a cold war, so tensions are high.

@Sanity43217

It looks good, but I have a few questions.

- Why made Jaed doubt the Emperor's motives? Was it a specific event or situation? A conflict with his Jedi training?

- When the Empire fell, why did Jaed decide to join the Black Sun rather than going back to the New Jedi Order or even the New Republic?

Also, could you go a bit into depth regarding his Force abilities and experience?
