Ten

The young shinobi darted about the burning flower field like rats while Kimiko, the lazy housecat, watched them scurry with a mixture of loathing and aloofness. Sure, her instincts urged her to stalk, prowl, and pounce, but she knew better. She held the cheese that the rats so desperately craved. Sooner or later, their hunger would overwhelm their fear, and they’d crawl just a little...too...close.

And then she would strike: lopping off their diseased little heads and presenting their mangled corpses to her master - a gift. A display of her superior hunting prowess and a promise of future success.

Nine

But, as the girl settled into her fantasy, one of the rats opened its big rat mouth and vomited up some truly disgusting sounds in a vain attempt at speech. She narrowed her gaze at the little loudmouth, measuring his worth.

“BITE ME!” she spat back at him. She had been wrong in her assessment - he was no rat. Why, he was no more than a flea. A pesky, meaningless flea. She could crush him. She should crush him. She would crush him.

But not yet. She had given her word. The other two would retrieve the flag and this stupid little game would come to an…end?

...wait…

...where was the flag?

Eight

Kimiko gazed past the chirping insect towards the other end of the field. She had been certain there was a flag there...where the actual fuck did it go? It couldn't have simply vanished...could it? Was that something one of those rats could do? She returned her gaze to Hoseki. No flag. The ugly toad-rat then? How in the actual fuck did they hide a colorful piece of cloth on a damn pole that quickly?

Seven

The increasingly agitated kunoichi scanned the field once more. She noticed Ruru actually taking the lead. The actual stones on this kid. She was impressed. More than that really. She was proud. Her little kitten was now acting like a proper predator. He was…

Slipping.

On.

His.

GOD.

DAMN.

ASS.

Six

“RURU, YOU LITTLE SHIT! GET YOUR GODDAMN ASS UP!” the raging Mama Cat roared, all her previous feelings of pride now acting as fuel to the white hot inferno of wrath burning away the girl’s patience and goodwill. She wasn’t suited to the backlines. Her instincts were becoming harder to resist. How the actual fuck was she supposed to trust her teammates if THEY COULDN’T EVEN HANDLE FUCKING WALKING?!!

Five

That ugly toad-rat threw a punch at Ruru. As unbelievably angry as Kimiko currently was, she actually managed to surpass it and reach levels of rage the girl thought before to be impossible. Her knuckles were tiny mountains dusted with snow as the tension wound her grip around her sword’s hilt and sheath to painful levels. This waiting thing was getting REAL OLD, REAL FAST.

…!

Four

Kimiko’s head snapped towards the tiny rat gazing at her. It held in its greedy little paws a pole. And around that pole was the little piece of fabric that marked Team Nine’s flag.

That.

Dirty.

Little.

Shit.

Three

Was that cheating? Well...nobody said you COULDN’T move the flag. Actually, there really weren’t any rules mentioned besides getting the other flag. A horrid grin stretched across Kimiko’s face as she relaxed her body. Fine. If that’s the game those little shits wanted to play, that’s the game they’d play.

Kimiko turned and walked towards her team’s flag pole. She quickly drew her sword and sliced the rope tethering the flag to the pole. As the fabric fell, it got picked up by the wind, floating carelessly over to the girl. She snatched it out of the air and examined it before tying it around her neck like a bandanna.

If those rats wanted their cheese, then they’d have to pry it from her cold, dead, claws.

Two

Kimiko stood unmoving for a moment or two after donning the flag. Then, she turned towards Hoseki. She lingered there for a moment. Then she took a step. And another. Three steps towards the boy.

Kimiko stopped and frowned. Something wasn’t right. She couldn’t exactly place her finger on it, but that hotheaded fuckboy not charging in was a red flag. Whatever he had planned, she didn’t give a fuck. He wasn’t important. Not yet anyway. Sure, he ran his fat rat mouth, and she’d surely carve him up eventually, but she had another target in mind.

Kimiko turned towards her boys engaged with the ugly troll toad rat abomination and dashed towards them. She arced around Hoseki, not getting any closer, yet also not running away. If he wanted to fight, it would be on her terms.

Sure, she could always go after that nameless little Ruru-wannabe. She could cut him down real quick then take the flag...but where was the fun in that? Kimiko trained her eyes directly on him, her killing intent on full display. Ruru and Kuku had been pushing towards him on one side, but the little coward liked to run. Of course he did. What else could frightened little rats do but scurry?

But no, he would also get a pass for the moment.

Which left only...

One

That idiot.

That absolutely ignorant waste of air.

She had fucked up.

She had royally fucked up.

She had placed her FILTHY RAT PAWS on KIMIKO’S PROPERTY. Those boys of hers, as fucking useless as they may be, were still HERS. And NOBODY would harm HER PROPERTY without her permission.

Surely Mizo knew that? She couldn’t POSSIBLY be so arrogant as to think that there would be no PUNISHMENT for her crimes?

As Kimiko grew closer to her teammates, she slowed, coming to a complete stop about ten yards away from the two. Casting a quick glance over her shoulder towards Hoseki to see if he had reacted to her sudden repositioning, Kimiko raised her left hand and pointed her sword towards the thing she thought was Mizo, wordlessly challenging her.

Her arm trembled in excitement. Her face contorted into a mixture of rage and pure, sadistic bliss.

GO!

She was going to hurt somebody.

Little did Kimiko realize, that wasn’t Mizo covered in water.

After attempting to slam one of them in the face and getting drenched, she silently stood upwards and slowly, quite dramatically, turned to face Kimiko. Right about now was when Mizo would say something like “It’s about to get really interesting.” Or “Buy me dinner first.” She would if she had a voice, which she didn’t. Knowing full well that Kimiko was now out of range of the trap, and ready to square off with Mizo for real this time. Hoseki just backed away, and tapped the ground with his foot, to let the Mizo underground know that things were shifting a little.

”This’ll be fun. Hoseki said, dripping with sarcasm. Seeing the samurai bitch pull out one of those katanas and pointing it at Kizo? Who the fuck knew what was gonna happen? Especially when that was just a clone. Normally, the Wind Style wouldn’t do much against Earth Style, but considering the fact that the Mizo which was now cracking its knuckles was made of mud and chakra, it was hard to say if any kind of Jutsu would work on Kiniko. And that’s assuming a mud clone could even preform Jutsu. Hoeski made a mental note of the flag being tied around her neck, maybe he could singe it a little...made it fall off easier. In any case, It wasn’t clear whether or not Mizo’s trap would work at this rate, if it did, great. If not, well, she could always blast out of the ground with all the energy she conserved through the battle and really give Kimiko a run for her money. Thankfully, Hoseki’s bakt didn’t entirely give her position away, maybe Kimiko thought he was trying a new Jutsu himself, or maybe she really thought they were in kahoots. It didn’t matter now.

Mizo’s clone was now staring down Kimiko, fists clenched behind her gauntlets. Looking the samurai bitch dead in the eyes, not a trace of fear or energy on her face. Was Kimiko expecting a reaction out of her rival? Hopefully not.

The ensuing battle looked like it was taking hold of the game, fun. Kana was lucky, he didn’t have to stick around to see the absolute cat fight.

Kushizu Ienari

Uh, the water gun did not work as well as he thought. Usually the high pressure of the water gun technique knocks people back but, at least it landed on target. Maybe he did not put enough effort into it since this is just a friendly match. That is what Emi-Sensei said, at least. Did not feel like one since Kana took the flag from its spot and is now carrying it. Acting as a mobile flag point that they had to both reach and take the flag from him. Nothing was said in the rules about taking the flag, and none of the Jonin were saying anything. So anything goes so far in this friendly match.

Getting Mizo wet did not really help but, it got Mizo off of Ataru's back for the time being. Then he heard a yell from behind him about Ataru and knew it was Kimiko. Ah, so she did hear that... guess he will see Kimiko have a chat with Ataru after the match is over. Which is a sight he will not enjoy to see if Kimiko is anything like herself. Or maybe there would be a change in pace, who knows. Either best not to focus on that now and see if they can win this.

Kushizu noticed Mizo had turned to face someone and turned his head to see who that was. Only to find that it was Kimiko and noticed that she was wearing their flag like a bandanna around her neck. Oh, so we are doing that now too. Well, if the other team decides on cheating, then it is fair to cheat too to even the playing field. Also, seeing Kimiko raise her sword Kimiko at Mizo, Kushizu knew what that meant. So she wants to challenge Mizo, Kushizu sighed. That means he better stay out of her way during the impending fight. So he choose to reposition himself to cover her flank. Putting himself between Kimiko and Hoseki. Just in case Hoseki decides on intervening, Kimiko is the flag. So it is better to help protect her and even if she may not need or want it. Who knows how this match is going to go at this rate.

Kana did not have to be a medic to know that the Katanas the young lady was brandishing would deal quite a bit of damage. He was chagrined about the fact that the other team had copied his strategy. However, this made the other team less mobile. All their hope was placed on either protecting the sword woman or chasing after him to finish the fight quickly. It appeared that Team 5 was congregating around Hoseki and Mizo. While Kana was not by any means an exceptionally close combat fighter, he was actually a pretty good shot when it came to dealing with Kunai or shuriken. True he was no Uchiha or on par with any weapon user, but he had tried to hone his skills enough that he could be mostly accurate.
He maintained a firm hold onto hi
s original four Kunai which where were now outfitted with about 25FT of wire rope each and tied around his index and middle fingers on either hand. He shifted their location to the space between pinky and ring fingers and using the shuriken he had produced earlier during his plan formulation he moved closer at an angle to where the fight seemed to be concentrated. From his point of view, Hoseki and Clone Mizo where about five feet apart directly in front of him. Ataru seemed to be just to the left of the Fire bearing member of his team and the other male member of team 9 seemed to be closer to clone Mizo. Taking this into account he edged almost all the way a round until he was at a 30-degree angle with Mizo’s clone.

He let his two shuriken fly. They would travel 20ft outward and start curving in so that their flight path would find them aiming at the opposing teams shoulder and hip. They would be easy to avoid given the distance they were traveling. Kana’s aim was for them to be avoided. If the genin facing Mizo’s clone jumped forward, he would be closer to the clone and withing punching distance. If he jumped back, his forward motion would be stopped. Either case, the shuriken would continue to travel towards the second target, Ataru. It was really simple and not deadly but the aim was to harass and to distract while the front damage dealers took care of them.

With the sound of Kimiko's anger, Ataru picked up his pace. He was dead after the match, that's for sure. His mistake of not only falling down during a match, but it was his idea to have her cover the flag, something he knew for a fact was not what the samurai wanted to do. She was an attacker through and through, and the little frail ninja knew he made the biggest mistake as he watched her tie the flag around her neck, katakana in hand as she readied herself for a fight.

Ataru was happy about how protective she was towards them, it showed that she actually cared, but he also knew that she used that same energy of protecting them in wanting to beat them as well for mistakes. It was all out of love, of course, according to Emi-sensei. Having his clone take the hit, and Kushizu covering him, Ataru took that as a chance to dash off again towards the flag carrying Kana.

There was more distance between them now as Kana had a chance to make another run for it, but Ataru was still determined. With his electrically charged up shoes Ataru lunged towards his shinobi twin of Team 9 as shurikens came flying towards him. Ducking and dodging one, he quickly deflected the other with another pair of kunai. As he parried one of the shurikens he panicked, barely noticing the wire attached.

In a swift movement, this time more graceful than the last, Ataru pivoted as far as he could from the shurikens before tossing his kunai towards Kana. Again roaring, "Lightning Blade: Projectile Cutter!"
