...I wonder how many levels we would gain from killing a Lv60 boss at Lv1?

Food for thought

Also, I hope the head knight survives, despite him being a stubborn curmudgeon.

If it's calculated based off stat difference, hardly anything. If it's calculated based off of level difference, we would have been leveling up just from killing normal kobolds.

Hey there, just wanted to pop in instead of ghosting - this is a bit different from what I was initially expecting when I first joined, so I think I'm going to drop out.

Sorry it took me so long just to drop out lol. You guys can keep my char around as an NPC if you want, I don't mind. I hope you guys have a fun time!

For this fight, let's cap the highest level gain to level 10 for now.

So that would be a total of 5000 points to be allocated in their stats.

@Travesty That helps.
Narrative level-up scenes I prefer more anyway. Despite my earlier enthusiasm for googling stuff research, I'm not super interested in number-crunching everything.

Right, will you be managing our skill gain/level ups, or is that left up to us?

@ERodeI'll leave that up you guys. Although I'll constantly set up limits as to how much they gain in each fight. For skills, feel free to come up with your own, as long as its relevant to the character's skill set and the story, I dont mind you making it, just let me know.

Alright, so like, when we finish some milestone or big fight, you'll give us "x amount of level ups, new skills, and skill level ups" to be distributed as we see fit? To confirm, because it seems a bit ambiguous, are special attacks considered skills, or something else?

Using Ray of Frost as an example, would it be levelled up like the Kobold Lord's Twin Axe Assault and all?

1. Yes. I'll be directing the story in such a way it's easy to know when there is a level to be gained (ex. a fight, or a training). If by any chance you feel like your character is falling behind in level or stats, we can arrange a special monster encounter to give that character a lil boost, so just let me know.

2. For skills, they can gain it at any point in the story provided they can justify how they acquired it (ex. Constant exposure to poison will give you Minor Poison Resist, or constant use of sword will cause you to gain Single-handed Sword Mastery). I wont limit you on this one as this is very situational, and it would depend on how you would want to cultivate your character. I'm not gonna give you the skills, its entirely up to you what skill your character will gain, you just have to let me know.

3. I'll be introducing a skill mechanics further into the story, for now, yes, technically all skills (passive or active) has their own level. But it cannot exceed the character's current base level (so if Ren's base level is 10, all his skills would either be at level 10 or lower). Dont think too much on the math here, levels are just a way to guage the character's progress on that specific skill (unless it has a stat modifier to it, then thats a different story).

Oh quick question now that you mentioned poison but I was wondering how it would affect Erika's gluttony skill

Cause if she can't suffer from adverse effects from what she consumes, does that mean that if she eats something poisonous, it wouldn't matter? But if it's injected into her, it would?

Gluttony only negates status ailment if its caused by eating/consuming. Negative status effect caused by external factors like skills or environment (toxic gas, paralysing spores, etc) would still be effective against her.

EDIT: So basically, Erika can eat tons of poisonous mushrooms without suffering from its effect. But if say she's biten by a venomous snake, she'd still get the <<poison>> effect.

EDIT EDIT: Although constantly eating things that causes negative status effect will eventually cause her to develop a resistance against that status.

@Travesty

So is "<Weapon> Mastery" the first skill you would pick up when practicing with a weapon? Is there an early stage skill like "Sword Novice?"

Can skills evolve into other skills, like what you see in some isekai/vrmmo
mangas?

I think 'Mastery' here just means how proficient you are in that particular weapon. So Sword Novice would just be Sword Master Level 1.

Also, please tell us when you have that list of weapon types done, Travesty.
