Carolina Reed

Carolina smiled as they both agreed to it, going out to the movies was always a lot of fun, she hadnt done it in awhile either and going with her two closest friends would make it even more fun. She thought for a moment she was trapped in a jungle for the last few hours but she had seen the trailer for the movie and thought it was really good. "Sounds perfect to me, though kind of a funny coincidence since The Rock is in both the Jumanji movie and that movie to." Carolina said as she entered the statue and then saw Loki there before anyone else could.

"Loki is here you guys." Carolina said just as Loki threw some orbs landing on the floor just by their feet, then the orbs started to emit some kind of gas, Carolina quickly kicked the three orbs away, but it didnt take to long until Carolina was on the floor laughing uncontrollably. She was on her side as she laughed really hard, so much so that her ribs started to hurt a lot from all of the laughing.

"Well you arent fun then." Bethany said crossing her arms over her chest letting out a slight sigh but Pietro did have a point they did need to get as many people out of here as possible. And the sooner that they could get the people off of the island the better, Bethany ran over towards another group of people and started to use her shadow travel again. "I should change my last name to Di Angelo or something." Bethany said mostly to herself as Pietro moved away another twenty people or so.

When Bethany felt the ground starting to shake well the chaos certainly was starting now, as Bethany could hear the explosion as well and quickly ran over towards the source of the explosion. Beth could see a number of people strewn across the ground, as well as Mira, Iris and Ed, she quickly went to help the three of them back up to their feet. "Are you guys okay?" Bethany asked looking at them all.

Guin Stark

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Electronics and Computers, Engineering Design, Problem Solving, Mechanics, Telepathy
"I've got a bad feeling about this," Guin complained, as her suit started going out of control. The thrusters and repulsors were firing off randomly, the suit was flinging her arms and legs about in odd directions, and she didn't have time to regain control before her legs were rotated into a position so quickly that both of them broke. Tears instantly sprung to her eyes as she screamed in pain. "God fucking damn it! Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck!!" Guin roared, hardly able to think. She was moving on more instinct than design as she quickly activated emergency sequences, barely able to regain control of her armor. Her legs were a fountain of pain - no, not a fountain, more of a river of lava. She felt like Vader at the end of the Prequel Trilogy.

"Loki is here. Right side of the Statue when you're looking at it from the jet." She spoke telepathically into the minds of everyone on their side, her telepathic voice hardly able to disguise the immense pain that she was in. Sweat was pouring down her forehead as she tried to focus and concentrate. She wished she had morphine. She knew that she wouldn't be able to get the good painkillers for obvious reasons, but damn it, it was hard to think and fight like this! Still, there was at least one other thing she needed to do before taking out her anger on Loki -

Don't freak out, I'm fine, she told Pietro. Her armor was the only thing keeping her standing. She targeted Loki and blasted him with her uni-beam at full power, a powerful beam of energy exploding from the arc reactor that powered her Iron Star armor. It hardly did anything to Loki - he just brushed it off.

IT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE YOU ARE FINE!!!!!!!

I said not to freak out! Guin replied, using pretty much the pure adrenaline of fighting Loki in order to focus through the pain.

Kind of hard not to!!!!!

Neil Spellman

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: N/A
Neil wished that Bethany and Pietro had managed to clear out the crowd from inside already, but they hadn't yet. There were still innocent people here and it was so hard to see through the crowd. He didn't spot Loki until well after Carolina had and his face paled, especially as Loki threw what he assumed to be grenades at them. Neil kicked at the strange balls, suddenly blessed with the skills of an elite athlete! The strange devices spewing green gaseous smoke went outside of the state and into the outdoor area.... where they would be someone else's problem.

"Carolina? Are you okay? What's going on?" Neil asked instantly, incredibly confused as to why Carolina was laughing uncontrollably. The green smoke had caused him to reevaluate his first idea that these were grenades - poison seemed more likely, but why would that make Carolina giggle so much? Neil felt completely fine and normal too. He didn't even have a slight headache or anything that would seem like a warning sign to him of imminent death.

He then heard Guin's voice inside of his head, giving directions as to where the real Loki was supposedly. He could tell that she was in pain. This was all going horribly, he knew it, he wished that he and Carolina and Annie had just stayed at the X-Mansion and let the others go deal with this.
Runa knew that Loki was trying to get a rise out of her - it was what he did. He played with people's emotions - and Runa had always been an easy target for that. She was trying her best not to be, not to show the look of pain on her face as Loki berated her. His words were like venom daggers in her back. The more she tried not to think about them, the harder it became. She was only stopped from going down a train of self destructive thoughts when one of the Midgardians spoke telepathically to her, informing her as to where the real Loki was.

She definitely was just as dramatic as her uncle though, as Runa stepped to the back of the torch, spread out her arms, and free fell backwards. Her plan had been to use her powers of darkness manipulation to slow her fall at the last second, but it didn't happen like that. Instead, she went smack against the ground. Her Asgardian durability kept her from getting more than scratches and bruises though, as she picked herself up, trying to look like she meant to do it that way. "No more games, Uncle."

Iris Rivers

Location: Stark Tower
Skills:

"I mean, if you wanna get technical, we could die really fast at any given moment..." Iris pointed out, before letting out a deep sigh. When Mira hopped into action, pacing toward where Iris had nodded, the blonde girl followed quickly behind. Despite it being a pretty standard scolding, Mira, likely without knowing, managed to strike a bit of a chord with Iris. It wasn't her fault she had to be happy all the time. Mira had seen a bit of what happened when she wasn't happy, so Iris assumed she'd get it at least a little bit. As for why she stuck around...well, there were a couple reasons, though none of them made her feel particularly upbeat. "I'll tell you what; if you learn how to be fun, maybe I'll learn how to be serious. Sound fair..." Iris' words trailed off as they found themselves in front of a the small singing toy. Iris' head tilted to the side in confusion, just in time for the thing to blow up in front of them, launching all around it backwards.

Iris' senses were hazy for a time as she laid there on the ground, unsure of what had just happened. But the confusion quickly subsided, leaving only a loud ringing in her ears and light pain all across her body. She let out a groan as she got up onto her hands and knees, immediately looking around to make sure that no one else was seriously hurt. Luckily, no one was. At that point she felt a hand grab onto her arm and help hoist her up. It was Beth, and she mouthed something that Iris didn't quite catch.

"WHAT?" Iris shouted, though her voice was muffled in her ears. It was then that her sudden state of deafness hit her, and she let out snort of laughter, looking over to Mira as Beth helped her to her feet as well. "EY, AT LEAST NOW YOU DON'T HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME!" It was then that her amusement was interrupted as Guin's voice invaded their minds, sounding pained and distressed. Iris' grin faded, as she quickly spun to the others. "YOU HEARD HER...I ASSUME. LET'S GO!" With that, she began to march away, towards the other side of the island.

Antoinette McCarthy

Location: In Statue -- Liberty Island

Antoinette scanned around the building as the movie was mentioned. Antoinette could go for that movie. She didn’t notice Loki until Carolina pointed him out and he waved to them. Antoinette waved back and squinted as three orbs were thrown at them. Carolina managed to kick them away before she fell to the floor laughing uncontrollably, whereas Neil seemed to be fine. Antoinette started to laugh as well, tears coming to her eyes but she didn’t fall over like Carolina and was still able to talk and function.
”I think… it’s… laughing gas,” she managed to say between fits of laughter before Guin’s voice popped into her head. If Loki was outside, who was the Loki inside? ”I think...Loki is...multiplying.” Antoinette was grateful she could at least still talk but now they had to figure out where the real Loki was. Hopefully, the gas would wear off soon so her and Carolina could use their combined intuition to try and find the real Loki.

Ed Penior

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Thamaturgy: Shield

Ed wanted to say something to ease the relationship between Iris and Mira. He had a feeling there was nothing he could do to make it better though. Iris and Mira needed the get-along-shirt or something. He sighed, ready for an attack, probably from the air. His eyes had gone back up to the top of the Statue of Liberty.

Ed had been prepared for anything...well not anything because he hadn't been prepared for a jack-in-the-box to explode. His ears were ringing and he was on the ground. If he had just been a bit faster. Planned a bit better. He berated himself as he sat up. Iris was saying something. He couldn't make out the words though.

He could however hear Guin. He frowned. He hated it. Hated hearing someone that wasn't him in his head. But now was not the time to be mad at her. They needed to get people off the island. He saw that Bethany was there and gave her a thumbs up. He didn't even hear what she was saying, since he couldn't hear anything but loud ringing in his ears.

"Bethany, get these people out of here." He found his tiny shield and started creating shield shovels and pushing people toward Pietro and her. He couldn't get them off the island but he could get them farther from danger.

Liberty Island

"Runa, my darling niece, I'm so glad to see you! I heard you were marooned in some dreadful jungle - I'm positively shocked you didn't take a knife to your throat," Loki said, his voice oozing with fake concern. "Although the quality of your company today, I must say, is lacking."

Lance was starting to wonder if perhaps all Asgardians had this thing about them where they had to be as dramatic as possible. He's known Thor for half of his life at this point (or nearly) and he's always been on the dramatic side. Loki clearly is from everything he knew so far about the guy, and then there was Runa trying to clearly be dramatic when she dropped to the ground. That was just great, oh well, he might as well go join the party, and he flew down to the ground, deciding to not be dramatic like the Asgardians.

Guina you clearly aren't okay! Pietro's voice rang through her mind, and it was clear that he was not in a good mood, when from a distance the entire group in the area would be able to hear a rather loud boom as a streak of silver came shooting over. Though clearly in his anger Pietro wasn't really thinking straight and flat out whiffed the punch, missing Loki's head by a few inches as he went racing by.

"Did you seriously just miss by like a mile? Not going to lie that is kind of pathetic not going to lie," she laughed slightly at him, before she turned her attention back to Loki, "I don't like people literally stabbing me in the back, though in all honesty I might have done that at some point to." With those words the vines by her charged straight at him and there was a rather loud crack that sounded off as one of them collided with his head and sent him flying backwards. Loki hit the ground hard enough to cause a bit of a crater and he had some scrapes and bruises and likely would be somewhat sore from that even with him being Asgardian and a bit more durable.

“Oh be careful children, especially you with the silver hair and daddy issues, you wouldn’t want to kill your friends!” Loki responded with a bit of a laugh as he stood up, and soon something rather odd seemed to happen. He disappeared, or seemed to multiply and a few others disappeared. To Runa and Pietro, everyone they saw around them looked like they were Loki and everyone else had disappeared and been replaced by him. To Guin, Mary and Lance seemed to disappear and Loki took their place, while for Mary it was Runa and Lance who were replaced by Loki.

Lance for the moment seemed completely unaffected by Loki's spell. "What the hell is he going on about now?" Lance couldn't help but say, but little did he know that because of Loki's spell no one could hear him.

"Ugh, that Asgardian is really starting to get on my nerves!" she snapped, though only those who could see Mary as herself (or well, technically her psychopathic alternate personality) could hear her words.

Pietro seemed to be panicking, that much was obvious as his eyes seemed to dart around the area looking around, Guina?????? Where'd you go?????? Pietro instantly asked into her mind, as he was there panicking like crazy, before he instantly darted out at random, and unfortunately the one person not effected by Loki's spell ended up being the target. There was a rather loud crack as Pietro sent his fist slamming into the side of Lance's head sending him flying backwards and to the ground with a loud thud.

His head started spinning and Lance moved his hand up to his head before pulling it away with blood on it. Though that wasn't the only thing he noticed, as his hand also seemed to have a bit of a green tint to it, "No no no no no..." he muttered, but not before Pietro picked him up off the ground and threw him another 10 feet away and into a wall. Yup he was definitely losing control. And losing control here, in a place where there were a whole bunch of people that could seriously get hurt because of him? Not a good idea, but despite trying to take deep breaths to try and calm down, it didn't seem to work as the green started creeping along his skin, and what didn't help was the fact that Mary sent vines that started wrapping around him and making it a bit more difficult to move.

Carolina unfortunately would still be feeling the blunt of the effects of the laughing gas, but it was starting to wear off so she can at least somewhat function. However she might have some problems with any sort of actual fighting or whatever like that. Annie seemed to have had the gas wear off mostly, but every so often she would still burst out into a bit of a giggle. There would be the sound of chaos outside of the building though, and they all would be able to see what looked to be a crowd of people coming in from outside in the direction that the latest crashes seemed to be coming from, and that did seem to be the direction that Guin had indicated Loki to be in.

Mira only heard a ringing in her ears, and there was one major upside to that, and that meant that she couldn't hear Iris' idiotic ramblings since she was probably talking and making a bigger fool of herself then she already did on a daily basis. The ringing in her ears was not going away, and she managed to pick herself up off of the ground as she looked around at the carnage. Luckily no one seemed to be seriously injured, though she was a little unsteady on her feet. Now was not the time to panic or worry about that, no, now was the time to figure out what to do about Loki.

She saw Ed's mouth move as he seemed to say something to Bethany who had join them over there, and Iris had already taken off to go join that fight. "I can't hear you Bethany," she commented, but couldn't hear a thing that had come out of her own mouth. The ringing for all three of them didn't seem to disappear, so it seemed that there might be a bit more damage to their hearing then it seems at first, probably should start being more concerned if it lasts much longer. "Get as many people out of here as possible, I'm going over there," every word she said was slow and deliberate, as if she had to make sure of what she was saying, though she kind of was as she couldn't hear her own words. With that said, she took off running for the other side of the island, hoping to catch up and get there as quickly as possible.

Guin Stark

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Telepathy, Deduction
Runa stared at Loki with uncertainty, trying her best to not get riled up by his scathing remarks. He wanted to play on her emotions and her fears, to cause her to not think things through, to rid her brain of logic and reasoning. She took a deep breath, even as her eyes narrowed at him. "Yes, I would say that your company is most unpleasant," she agreed. "Although, you did select an excellent location in which to die - your final sights will be breathtaking."

I... am... fine... Guin told Pietro unconvincingly, biting down hard on the inside of her cheek to keep herself from screaming and collapsing in pain. Her suit was the only thing keeping her vertical at the moment, as her legs were in no shape to support her weight on their own. She blinked and saw her husband rush on over, abandoning his job as taxi service for the innocent civilians, and then fail at hitting Loki. She might have teased him about it had she not been in so much pain.

Mary - or at least, Guin thought it was Mary - sent Loki flying backwards with her vines and she couldn't help but hope they'd just be able to pummel Loki and call it a day. But nothing was ever that easy. Mary and Lance were imposters, revealed to just be more manipulations of Loki! Her eyes widened, wondering how Loki had managed to deceive them like that - Mary and Lance had vanished, or had they been taken prisoner by him a while ago? I didn't go... anywhere? she replied to Pietro, confused.

Uh what are you talking about? I can't see you!

She could have kicked herself for not realizing it already, but it was probably the pain clouding her thoughts and judgment. Loki is making us look like Loki to other people! she explained quickly, before repeating it verbally. "Guys, Loki made us look like Loki!" she shouted. She had no idea how to fix it, but it basically meant that attacking any Loki right now was a bad idea. She had no idea who Pietro had just attacked for instance.

What are you talking about?

Don't attack until one of the magic people fixes this! Guin urged.

Speaking of magic users, Runa saw that all of her allies had vanished, leaving her with a ring of Lokis. She took a breath, trying to concentrate her powers to pick out the real one, but none of them were obvious lies. She couldn't determine who her enemy was. There was one way though to draw out the real Loki. She charged Gandr up with darkness and drove her staff down into the ground, emanating a large area attack. Everyone (every Loki, that is) was sent flying backwards and slammed into the ground. "Face me, coward!"

Neil Spellman

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: N/A
Neil furrowed his eyebrows at Annie's suggestion - the thought of Loki multiplying was horrifying. The universe was already in a bad enough place with one Loki running around, they didn't need more of him. Maybe this was Annie's idea of a joke - although she wasn't really the joking type, despite her fits of laughter. People were rushing into the building like mad, and Neil pulled both Annie and Carolina close to him so that way they wouldn't get trampled. It wasn't the first stampede they had had to deal with sadly. "Come on, we need to go help the rest of the party," Neil urged his friends.

It was way harder than it should have been. He could have sworn there was a pack of bloodthirsty Karens charging at them at some points, their blonde bobs glinting in the sun as they left the outdoors and rushed into the building. Several of them banged their handbags into him and Neil could've sworn they had weights in there, as they hurt. He was going to have bruises, not from fighting a supervillain, but from white privilege. Neil let out a sigh of relief when they managed to get out of the building and away from the funnel of scared tourists. "Are you two okay?" he asked, before motioning for them to follow him as he carefully walked in the direction of Guin's panicked plea.

Carolina couldnt really talk at all really as she continued to laugh and giggle, she shook her head at Neil's question she was glad that he was able to kick the gas grenades out of the room. She was still feeling the full effects of the gas, and laughed even more as she was helped out of the room and back outside. She was holding her sides as they hurt a lot from all of the laughing, she looked at Annie and Neil for a moment when she heard Guin's telepathic message.

"Go, i'll be fine and catch up.." Carolina said as she leaned herself up against the wall trying to calm herself down between fits of laughter and giggles. She really didnt like Loki at all right now as she could hear the fighting going on in the distance from the others, Guin's telepathic message sounded like she was in a lot of pain which made her worry.

It looked like everyone else wasnt seriously hurt because of Loki's little bomb she huffed slightly and crossed her arms over her chest slightly and shook her head a bit. "You are all welcome." Bethany said as she watched both Iris and Mira heading off to go and fight Loki, she closed her eyes for a moment and focused on the injured people around her and shadow traveled them all back to the main land again. "Well lets get going then." Bethany said looking over at Ed before she shadow traveled herself over to where Guin had said telepathically to her.

Bethany easily spotted Loki and extended her hand out and used her shadow manipulation power and flung him around, seeing him skidding across the ground getting a few scraps and scratches from the hit. "Being the taxi service is really boring." Bethany said as she tried to fling him around again but couldnt as she looked over towards the others.

Antoinette’s eyes widened as the doors to the statue opened and people came rushing in. She had flashbacks to the game of Jumanji with rhinos and other animals stampeding toward them. Suddenly she was pulled out of the way and was overcome with a fit of giggles before it settled down. Carolina’s laughter didn’t seem to be subsiding though and with Neil’s help, they all got outside okay.
Antoinette breathed in the fresh air, hoping that would clear out the laughing gas. ”Doing better but we should find Guin,” Antoinette started to giggle again and she covered her mouth to try and suppress it. Guin being injured was no laughing matter. Hopefully Edus was close to Guin and could help her. Antoinette looked at Carolina as she continued to laugh but told them to go without her. ”Alright, be careful,” she said before giggling again.
Antoinette hurried off to meet up with the others and offer what assistance she could. As they passed civilians, Antoinette encouraged them to run and get into the statue. At the moment, it seemed like a pretty safe place.

Iris Rivers

Location: Stark Tower
Skills: Meditation

Iris sped across Liberty Island, thanking the gods just this once for the long legs that came with her height. She felt a burning sensation spread through them accompanied by the pumping of blood. It felt a little like what she felt when she used her powers, though it was less potent, and lacked the chill that came with it. When she eventually skidded to a halt, what she found was chaos. Perhaps that shouldn't have been a surprise, considering who they were fighting. Lance was in the process of flying back from a strike administered by a familiar silver blur, before vines began to creep up onto his body. She stood confused for a moment.

"What- Wait, is this some Loki mischief magic shit?" She guessed, eyeing the scene, before her eyes caught sight of an emerald hue spreading across Lance's skin. Her eyes went wide, and she quickly sped over to him, shouting over her shoulder, "Mary, get your vines off of Lance! You're hurting him!" as she stopped a few feet away from the boy.

"Lance, remember our exercises! Turn your attention away from the pain and the emotion and the rage, and focus on your breath, okay? Count with me...in...out...that's one," she began to run him through a meditative exercise, though it was difficult to speak in a soothing tone when she couldn't even hear herself speak. As she began her count to ten, her attempts at first proved unsuccessful, but at around the fifth breath, she managed to get into a groove that seemed to work. As she continued on, she watched as the green began to recede. "That's it...in...out...nine. In...out...ten."

Shit, he needed to get his hearing back. Bethany teleported him over to Guin and Loki, which was good cause it meant he could put shields out and about around where Loki actually was to protect people. First, though he had to be able to hear what was going on. No one was in range for him to get their blood and use it to heal them so he was just going to have to do it to himself and get Mira and Iris later. He whispered a quick incantation and his ears popped a little healing. He still had a bit of tinnitus but at least he could hear the conversation and what was going on.

He then turned his attention to the tiny shield in his pocket and set to making large shields protecting the random tourists. "Thanks Bethany." He told her, appreciating her bringing him to the core of the battle. He started pushing the tourists away from the fight, trying to leave just the group fighting Loki in his vicinity. He bunched up a group of eight and got them to safety. Pietro or Bethany would have to get them off the island, though Pietro seemed....distracted.

Liberty Island

Everyone seemed to be showing up now on that side of the island, at least with regards to the X-Men team. The vines moved away from where Lance was, so that was a good thing in his mind. There was still quite a bit of blood coming from his head, but he couldn't exactly worry about that right now. As he nearly was going to completely lose control at this point, but he managed to calm down slightly when Iris came over to him. "Head... Hurts," was all he managed to stammer out in between deep breaths as the green seemed to disappear from his skin.

"So your telling me the idiot decided to try and turn us all against each other? That's kind of lame, honestly for us it has kind of been a whole, been there done that got the damn t-shirt," she commented raising a bit of an eyebrow. Though one thing was clear at this point, she was starting to get a bit unsteady on her feet, and her skin was looking fairly pale as blood continued to seep through her clothes from her injury. However for the moment she didn't seem to be collapsing, so that was a good thing for the moment.

Guina I still can't see you! Actually I can't see anyone or anything aside from Loki and I don't know what to do so tell me where the hell are you!!!! Pietro responded to Guin still clearly panicking and he was glancing around confused and panicked. Right now anything could potentially set him off to attack someone else. Even though others were joining the group, to him he couldn't see anyone else, he still only saw Loki.

There was a bit of a wave that appeared and a swirl of water splashed to the ground as Klara appeared next to the group, wondering what the hell seemed to be going on with the group. "Hey guys, how's it going?" she asked them, before glancing around and her eyes resting on Loki, and she pulled her sword out and pointed it at him, "Hello uncle," she commented, glaring at him now.

There was a little bit of noise as the 4 Avengers members showed up in the area. "Guin what the hell happened to you?" Tony instantly asked her, seeing that her legs were badly broken. Clearly they might not have wanted to essentially let the kids off on their own against Loki, at least that is how his mind was seeing things. After all, they had never gone against Loki before, well, technically only he and Thor had fought Loki before.

"Oh dear, looks like your wife has gotten herself in a bit of a situation hasn't she Pietro?" Wanda commented towards her brother, though he still couldn't hear her. She noticed that something was wrong though, and didn't say a word anymore, at least out loud as she seemed to be talking to him through their own mental link.

Loki seemed to laugh slightly at the group, before suddenly there was a big ball of fire heading straight for the group. If they were in a line it would have been more of the conga line of doom, but nope, they were all just grouped up like a bunch of idiots, which he found somewhat amusing, and the fire scorched everyone within the area. Yup, that was definitely a big old fashioned fireball that Loki had decided to hit them all with. That being said, it wasn't the only thing he did, as all of the Avengers (except for Thor for some strange reason) saw a whole bunch of dead bodies instead of the rest of the group. Yeah this wasn't really a good thing as several of the other Avengers seemed to suddenly get slightly confused.

"Goddamn it I hate fire!" Mary snapped from the scorching attack. Mira had reached the group by now too, but had shown up just in time to have seen everyone get scorched by Loki.

"Guess no one made their reflex save," she commented softly with a slight laugh. At the moment she was just trying to make light of their current situation. She figured that Neil might laugh slightly at the joke, not sure if anyone else would find it amusing.

Lance had an idea pop through his head as he got up completely now, still hurting somewhat from everything he'd been hit with in the short span of time. "Ed," he called out to him upon seeing him with the group now, "Loki did a few spells to confuse people, think your magic might be able to undo it?" It was a bit of a long shot, since he'd be going against Asgardian magic, but hey, he lucked out before with it when it came to Runa and Klara, maybe he'd get lucky again?

Though now was not the time to figure out how best to just break that spell, they needed to actually cause some damage to Loki too. Despite hurting a lot and trying to maintain some control over shifting, he sent a rather large blast of light that slammed directly into Loki. The light had a bit of a greenish tint to it, not too surprising since he was fighting back shifting. However it did seem to have the intended effect and it slammed into him, throwing him backwards and to the ground, banging him up a little bit.

Guin Stark

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Telepathy
Guin gritted her teeth slightly, muscling her way through the pain. "The usual bullshit," she told her father. She didn't dare make a move to attack the Lokis she saw - she had figured out that they were illusions, keeping her from seeing her friends. The only issue was she didn't know where the real Loki was and in her condition, she couldn't very well run off to go look for him. She was barely standing, supported purely by her armor. I'm right-- Guin started to say to Pietro, only to be caught off...

... as a gigantic flaming ball of fire slammed into her. Her armor protected her mostly from the blast, but she could still feel the heat through the suit. The impact forced her to stumble backwards and she screamed in pain from the shifting of her weight, only further aggravating her broken legs. The world looked like it was spinning and Guin could hardly think straight. Her mind was just consumed by the unspeakable pain, it was surprising that she hadn't fallen unconscious yet - although she was barely conscious to be fair. Help, she squeaked out to Pietro.

Guina I can't see you! Pietro responded panicking.

Guin shut her eyes tightly and scrunched up her nose, as she took off her helmet and threw it at the ground at her feet. She hoped that now she wasn't wearing it, Pietro would see it. Helmet, she urged him, unable to think clearly - not really able to form more than one word sentences.

Oh, I can see the helmet! Wait why aren't you wearing it????

Help was all Guin repeated, not even aware that she was crying from how bad the pain was.

Guina? The helmet on the ground is not helping me really find you since I still only see Loki everywhere!!!!! it was clear from the panic in his voice that he was insanely confused as to everything that was going on around him and him panicking was clearly not helping with this entire situation.

Runa, meanwhile, saw even more duplicates of her uncle appearing. She frowned sharply, trying to think of what to do. His flames were incredibly annoying, having charred her clothes partially, but she was used to the heat - her father was Baldur after all. "Uncle, reveal thyself," Runa said. She closed her eyes, concentrating as she manipulated Asgardian magicks to attempt to reveal which duplicate was really Loki.

It turned out to not be any of the duplicates. She kept her eyes shut, sensing where Loki ought to have been. When she opened her eyes, there was just an empty spot there, but she was positive. "Hellfire, mine, come hither and hark this," Runa summoned, before slamming a gigantic ball of fire into the spot where she thought Loki was. It looked almost like a ring of fire and she tilted her head slightly, unable to tell if she had hit him at all, but hoping she had.

Neil shook his head. He wasn't going to leave Carolina. "No, we're going together," he insisted. He didn't want to split up. They were already on a crowded island filled with panicking civilians and it had been hard enough for them to do something as simple as leave the building. He wasn't going to split the party in the middle of all of this chaos, especially since the rest of the team had already engaged Loki. He shot an incredulous look at Annie as she rushed off, just leaving Carolina behind. "Why does everyone always split the party," he muttered, a bit salty.

Once Carolina caught her breath, then they would go and join the others. He was worried that if he had left with Annie, Loki would show up and kill Carolina. At least if he was here with her, he could help fight off any sneak attacks by the God of Mischief. He bit his lip slightly, feeling exposed even as people were rushing past them, not really paying them any attention. He didn't know how long it would take for Carolina to catch her breath after the gas, yet another reason he wasn't going to leave. If Carolina needed medical attention, leaving her alone would be a very bad idea.

Carolina watched as Annie started to run off towards where the others were, she closed her eyes as another fit of giggles came but they werent as bad anymore. As she took a few more deep breathes she started to calm down now, turning to look over at Neil blushing slightly when he said he would stay there with her until she was feeling better. "I'm okay now I think.." Carolina said as she started to stand more on her own, holding her sides still hurt a lot from all of the laughter. "Lets get to the others now then." Carolina said as she started to make her way over to where everyone else was just in time for the group to get hit by a ball of fire created by Loki himself.

"Good thing that we werent there then." Carolina whispered to Neil as she started to get a bit of an idea looking at Neil for a moment. "I'm going to try something." Carolina said as her body went limp, as she astral projected herself over towards Loki and tried to possess him, she was able to gain control over Loki briefly before being kicked out. She tried it again for a second time but she wasnt able to at all on the second try.

"Yep no problem at all old man." Bethany said as she winced as she was hit with a large fireball created by Loki and quickly got back up to her feet again, looking at some of the burns and burnt clothes that she had. Bethany saw Carolina and Neil coming over towards them, and gave the two a slight nod, as Bethany noticed Loki going limp for a moment as Carolina possessed him briefly.

She turned her attention over towards Loki and glared at him as she extended her hand out towards him, and started to use her power and started to throw Loki around several times hitting him on the ground before releasing him. Bethany looked at all of the Avengers who suddenly all decided to show up now which was good then. "Well about time you all actually showed up now." Bethany said sarcastically as she took a few steps away from the others so that way she wasnt so grouped close to them in case Loki decided to use another large fireball again.

As Antoinette neared the group, she saw the fireball hit them all. She gasped as it slammed into her friends and the Avengers there. A piercing scream broke through the surface and Antoinette raced to Guin’s side. She was still in her suit, the fire ball had done any damage but there was something going on or she wouldn’t be screaming. She turned attention to Loki, feeling fear and anger within her. Antoinette was normally a timid person but Loki had been assaulting them for a while now. First with the game and now this. She turned to face him, her purple eye glowing as she attempted to make a small army of Thor’s and convince Loki what he was seeing was real and that he was in a lot of trouble now.
Antoinette was successful in creating a perfect image of Thor but she could only create two rather than the 10 she had intended to create. Still, three was better than one. Antoinette sincerely hoped Loki believed what was staring at him and marching towards him. He was a trickster himself and the god of lies but fear could do wonders to a person.
"We'll get out of this Guin, just hang on," Antoinette whispered to her, not taking her eyes off of her illusions or Loki.

Iris Rivers

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: People Reading, Pyrokinesis (RR: Tai Chi)

Iris' soothing deep breaths were interrupted by a ball of pure flame exploding amidst the group, a blast of fire momentarily consuming them all. Iris raised her arm to cover her face, hissing as she felt the stinging pain of flames cover her skin. She couldn't help but feel like it was karma for all the fire she'd thrown around, and all the pain she'd caused with it. She didn't let those thoughts of self-loathing consume her as the flames had, though, instead immediately lowering her arm and spinning back towards Lance. She scanned him, trying to determine whether or not he'd be able to fight off his big green alter ego himself. It only took her a few seconds to determine he'd manage, at which point she spun to look at Loki.

"Alright Upsilon, light that bitch boy's greasy-as-fuck hair on fire!" she exclaimed, extending her arm, covered with a burnt up sleeve and sizzling skin, as she felt the familiar feeling of icy heat flowing through her flames. She saw Upsilon standing over the trickster god, lowering his hand down to the mop of greasy black hair, lighting it up in a bright blue hue that lasted only a few seconds before dying down. She was about to ask Upsilon to make another attack on Loki, but before she could, a blood-curdling scream filled the air. She spun her head to figure out who it was, to find Guin standing there, helmet off, wailing in agony. Iris quickly made her way over to Guin, standing in front of her and bending her knees, getting ready to redirect any attacks that might come the girl's way.

"Guin, swap with me! Take over my body! We need your brain more than we need the sorry excuse of a smoke cloud that hangs out in my skull. Besides, I can handle the pain. It's one of the perks of meditation!" Iris shouted, making it sound more like a demand than an offer. "And please skip over all the 'I can't subject my friends to this kinda pain' because we really don't have time. Just...buy me a pizza or something later and we'll call it even!"

Ed Penior

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Sympathetic: Healing;

Thankfully Ed's hearing wasn't messed up still. He could hear Lance's idea. Ed hadn't been there when the confusion had been set upon the group so he hadn't even realized it was there. That explained a lot. People were physically hurt, but he had to get everyone to the point where they could get past the confusion that Loki had beset upon them.

He focused on the group, the X-Men, the Asgardians, and the Avengers. His stomach twisted a little as he felt each of the minds. It felt wrong to be so close to the minds of others. Why did so many people have to go around messing with other people's minds? His family had the training to keep people out of their minds, many people did not. But they knew it was possible to encounter people with mind intrusion spells.

In the minds of his team, there were several that felt off. He pulled the wool, so to speak, from them and they could see true again.

Liberty Island

Pietro's mind cleared finally due to Ed breaking the spells that had been placed on a good part of the group. The spell for him broke just in time for him to hear Iris yell to Guin about switching bodies with her right then and he shot a glare at Iris that was filled with annoyance and clearly like he wanted to strangle her. It totally was a good idea for someone who was constantly high as a kite to switch bodies with someone who used to be a freaking drug addict. Makes total sense, Don't switch with her Guina," Pietro said mentally to her, and she could hear in his voice that he was really pissed off at Iris for even suggesting that sort of thing. Actually, later he was probably going to go threaten Iris about ever asking that sort of thing ever again.

"Wanda? Think you can use your magic or whatever and heal her?" Pietro asked his sister, glancing over towards her.

Scarlet Witch looked mildly amused (likely because she knew what was going through her brother's head) before she responded, "Of course, though perhaps your wife needs to learn how to not get seriously injured." After that was said, she waved her hands that were glowing red, and Guin's legs would no longer be broken. They'd still feel fairly sore sore, and she'd still feel the slight burns she gained from the fireball, but the massive amount of damage would be repaired for the most part. "There, she might still feel pain, but a lot less broken."

"Thank you," he responded to her, before going mentally to Guin, Are you okay Guina?

Tony was relieved that Guin seemed to be okay now thanks to Wanda using her powers to heal, and he instantly started firing off a few blasts at Loki. Unfortunately they didn't seem to be doing all too much damage to Loki, just knocking him backwards somewhat with his blasts. One thing was slightly clear, at the moment Loki was clearly outnumbered since his illusions and spells were broken, and he didn't seem to be fooled by Annie's illusions. He is the trickster god after all.

Mary sent vines flying at him, knocking him backwards and to the ground, and Lance followed suit somewhat, but his aim was off with his blast of light. It probably was getting to be partially because of his head injury, seriously why was it that he almost always seemed to seriously get injured in the head in some way? Klara instantly swung her sword, but stopped within inches of Loki's neck. "It's over uncle, you can't win."

"Oh, I think you'll all find that the battle remains very much in my favor. Girls, would you mind killing them all?" he responded, before snapping his fingers. Klara was fairly confused as to how he could possibly think that, but then again, she never really understood anything that he said, but within moments she lost control as her eyes swirled with black and her sword began to glow with a slight black aura to it. She threw her sword suddenly, directly at Thor, who would managed to avoid it despite what she clearly had been aiming to do.

Perhaps Ed's misgivings about how simple it had been earlier to free Runa and Klara was well warranted?

The worst part about this at the moment was simple, as even from where they all were, they would be able to hear the water that surrounded the island begin crashing up against the sides with a massive amount of force to the point where the ground would slightly begin to shake from it. Another fireball suddenly materialized as Loki got up off of the ground, and it slammed downwards towards the group.

Luckily some people were slightly prepared for the next fireball. Mary dove off to the side, managing to for the most part avoid getting scorched from the fire. Pietro zipped over and managed to pull Guin out of the way of the fire before getting hit, and Lance threw up a shield of light that took the brunt of the attack, but he still got burned. Iris would manage to avoid getting the massive amount of damage from the brunt of the attack, but while avoiding it she'd still get partially burned from it. Annie would take the full amount of damage from it, and would be in serious pain from the burns that it caused, and Ed would get a few serious burns from the attack too. The Avengers seemed to be alright for the most part, Scarlet Witch throwing up a shield, Iron Man flying out of range, Thor getting out of the way, and She-Hulk just stood there and took the full amount of damage without much of a scratch, letting out a bit of a bored yawn.

Guin Stark

Location: Liberty Island
Skills: Telepathy
"I know we will, I'm not dying because of fucking Loki, he's barely even an A list villain these days," Guin groaned, talking through the immense pain as she answered Annie's well intentioned words. As much as her mind was consumed with the immense pain of having two broken legs, she also was a Stark - and Starks had legendary egos, unlike anything the world had ever seen before. Guin felt that her death would have to be up against some Galactus level threat at least, probably be some event the entire world saw with a snappy catchphrase she could repeat before being epic. Loki just didn't work for that vision.

"Ugh, Iris, when all of this is over, me and you are going to have a chat about self respect," Guin said. She was biting down on the inside of her cheek and it wasn't giving her any relief. Pietro apparently decided to make her choices for her, but she was in too much pain to be properly annoyed. And suddenly, it all stopped. The roaring hellfire in her bones had quieted down to a dull roar. Her legs were incredibly sore, but they were whole, and she could think clearly. "I'm fine, I'm fine," she announced, picking up her helmet and putting it back on. Guess I have Wanda to thank for that? My legs aren't going to suddenly break again under a full moon right?

So kind to my sister Guina, be glad she was able to fix it!

You're right, Guin admitted. "Thank you, Wanda."

I'll be honest I was just hoping she'd be able and wasn't positive she'd be able to.

Maybe you shouldn't call Vision a toaster now then, Guin suggested, as she flew up into the air and aimed her uni-beam and repuslors at Loki. She fired off shot after shot after shot, hitting him only once in the elbow. The guy was infuriatingly hard to hit and injure. His entire strategy seemed to revolve around chaos and distraction, so all Guin wanted to do was shut him up by hitting him as hard as she could with her blasts. She was getting really tired of this crazy guy throwing fireballs at them constantly. He is still a toaster.

And turning their allies against them, that needed to stop too.

Neil Spellman

Skills: Telekinetic Combat
Runa's eyes had turned black as well, as she fell back under Loki's sway. She emotionlessly and coldly targeted the strongest person present - the Scarlet Witch. The magical energy from her was all Runa needed to feel in order to determine that. She threw a blast of concentrated darkness at the witch, only to miss. She growled slightly and threw another, missing again. Her third shot was true though, blasting the Scarlet Witch backwards. She rushed forward and hit Wanda in the throat with her staff, before pressing down on her. "Mortal witch, you should know better than to test the fury of an Asgardian. Your powers are nothing."

Neil, meanwhile, had an idea. One of his least favorite things as a Dungeon Master was remembering to do concentration checks. He glanced at Carolina for a moment, before giving her a slight smile. What he was about to do could easily be suicide. "You're my best friend," he told her quietly, before Neil went off at a sprint. He didn't want them to have to face yet another round of fireball. Their allies were under some strange spell. But if he could break Loki's concentration, maybe he could stop that. He was ran right up to Loki, a little bit shocked that the God of Mischief hadn't done anything to stop him.

He leapt at Loki, attempting to tackle him, only for Loki to sidestep and cause him to hit the ground. He grabbed at Loki's food, trying to use both his strength and his telekinesis to pull Loki down to the ground, but Loki kicked his grip loose and he failed. He got back up to his feet and this time, he hugged Loki, refusing to let go no matter how much the god squirmed and struggled to break free. He then took in a deep breath and Neil screamed in his face as loud as he could, still hugging him, all in an attempt to break Loki's concentration long enough for his spells to fail so they could capture him once and for all.

Carolina winced in pain as she was hit with a fire ball feeling the searing pain from it as she stumbled back slightly and looked towards Neil and smiled towards him. She was glad that he would always have her back and he was her best friend as well to, when he watched him running off to attack Loki, she watched him try and tackle him and, then hugging him. Carolina wasnt sure what Loki would actually do and started to worry that Loki would kill him for doing that or something.

Carolina closed her eyes and left her body again and started to travel over towards Loki and attempted to try and possess him again, and every attempt that she tried had failed. She groaned and started to get annoyed as Carolina went back to her body and stood up again turning to look over at Ed. "Make a shield around Neil please." Carolina couldnt help but worry about Neil and hoped that Ed would be able to do that Carolina turned as she felt the water starting to cover the ground due to Klara and started to worry about the flooding.

Bethany winced as she got hit with the fireball and stumbled backwards slightly as she got back up to her feet and started to pat out the flames on her clothes. She watched as both Klara and Runa started to get possessed again and went to attack both Thor and Wanda separately, Runa managing to get a good hit on Wanda Bethany quickly ran over towards her. Bethany started to use her powers and started to solidify her shadows around her to form a spear of sorts.

Bethany quickly smacked the staff out of Runa's hand as it clattered to the ground, she managed to hit Runa hard enough knocking the Asgardian onto the ground and pointed the shadowy spear at Runa. "You do know it's rude to attack a pregnant woman right?" Bethany asked staring down at Runa as she pressed the tip of it against Runa's throat.
