Wow, this is even worse than I thought. Back in my old haunts it was basically unheard of for someone to drop out unless they died or something. Between that and the average posting speed here I seriously need to find a different site to move to.

No offense meant to any of you personally. But like if you have any recommendations I am open.

I'll confirm its normal I've been on this site since like 2015 or 16 I've completed one roleplay and 'finished' another one that's about it. There's been a handful of long lasting roleplays that have gone on for years some mores successful than others. Most die.

That's just terrible. You have to understand back when I was last active, before I came here, I came from a background of having RPing as my primary source of entertainment. Like me and a bunch of online friends typically considered 1 post per person per day to be slow. And compared to the memories of that this site has been a grim disappointment to me. But I wasn't aware things were this bad.

Like, I am staying on for this game but realistically I have already settled on not joining or starting any new games here.

And honestly the worst part is how everyone here is just so used to it as if this whole arrangement was normal. I mean, slow posting, games failing all the time, people dropping out... That's not normal. In my 20 something years of playing this is literally the first and only place where I have seem a situation so grim when it comes to the hobby.

Than we really haven't been frequenting the same sites. Either way, the way I see it this place is dying and people have just given up.
And if I have to choose between giving up RPing in general and falling into this state of living death it's no choice at all.

RPing is generally grabbing two or three RPs depending on what you can handle and then seeing which ones last. I'm in one group RP that's just passed it's 3rd year anniversary, and it's gained and lost a bunch of people over the years. Probably a third of the original cast is gone. I'm also in a 1x1 RP that's been going for 11 months which is pretty solid, but during those 11 months I've had like 3 or 4 other 1x1s drop for various reasons.

It happens. Stuff gets in the way and inspiration comes and goes.

So I'm still trying to think of a way to rewrite a few parts of the RP due to us missing two players from what I originally had planned. This is still active, I just need to rewrite a few things.
