Why do you want to play this character, what is the driving motivation behind both this desire and the character themselves. What do you hope to accomplish and where do you want the character's story/stories to go? For a driving character, there should be enough of an outline present to interest other players along with specifications towards how many players you're looking to involve or available roles. For supporting characters, this should indicate either a plot you've arranged to be part of or the type of plot you're looking to be involved in. Roaming characters have the privilege of doing either or simply stating a roadmap for the character to exemplify how you'd ideally like them to move between plots.

It always began with the world burning.

The smell of acrid smoke choked her, suffocating her beneath the consuming flames of raging fires surrounding her. The flames tore through buildings and debris, screams echoed through what was left of the city's streets. Mothers wept over their children, while defiant husbands were cut down quickly by the opposing invading forces. No matter where she looked, her tired eyes were met with bloodshed and horror. Muscles too weak, too sore to respond. She tried to no avail to intervene but found herself completely helpless to do so.

This is how the nightmare started.

Flames wicking away at the ragged scraps of a tattered red cape billowing in the wind. The man it belonged to was long gone, nowhere to be found, yet scattered everywhere as the colossus towered over the battlefield. The battle had barely lasted long enough to call it that, not nearly enough to sate the colossus' hunger for war.
▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅
▅▅▅▅▅▅
.....................................................
Around her, the world was ripping itself apart. Her champions were laid bare across the desolate wasteland that was once her home. The Justice League had fallen, unable to turn the tide of battle as the nations ripped themselves apart, thrown into a fury. Hidden nations rose from beneath the ocean, dragging the mainland to the depths below while warriors previously veiled descended upon the armies of man.

The colossus revealed in the destruction, but when the smoke cleared his appetite still was not satisfied but nothing remained to wage war. Fiery eyes looked upon Lilith, a sneer beneath the horned helmet before the deafening voice bellowed towards her.

"Avert your eyes, Little Seer, this doesn't concern you."

Frozen in place, Lilith tried to move, she tried to run, she tried to scream. But nothing came out, paralyzed with fear. She could only watch as the spear travelled through the air before piercing her torso.

Sitting up in a cold sweat, Lilith Clay buried her damp forehead in a pair of equally clammy hands. Crimson locks spilled over her bare arms as she brought her knees to her chest, breathing heavily. Removing her hands from her face, they patted her body, checking for injuries, striving to convince herself that nothing she had experienced was even remotely real.
It was just a dream.

That was the lie she told herself, but Lilith knew, it was only a dream right now. The nightmares were persistent, the exact scenario inconsistent. Elements however remained the same, the world lost to war, the death of the Justice League and the towering colossus. She didn't know its name, but it embodied rage and wrath.

War personified.
▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅
▅▅▅▅▅▅
It had summoned armies from every corner of the realm. Those who dwelled below the depths rose to the service of the Sky Lord's brother, while armies from the lands of ice and cold followed behind the crimson mane and crackling hammer. These armies of the heavens clashed against one another while Earth was caught in between. Her protectors fell so quickly, unprepared for those who came and Lilith each night was helpless to stop it.

Or at least she had been.

Several months ago, Lilith had found hope in the form of Loren Jupiter. Jupiter was the first to earnestly listen to her visions and not only believe them but take action. The self-made man, invested time and money into something he liked to call 'Titans of Tomorrow', but the media instead had dubbed the 'Teen Titans'.
.....................................................

...
Ironic, since all of them were legal adults.

Under the guidance of Lilith's visions and Jupiter's resources, the pair put together a team of young heroes to create a successor to the mythical Justice League. Something that hadn't been formally organized before. Though the 'Teen Titans' had detractors, it wasn't long after their first battle together that the Titans began to garner public favour.

But the nightmares remained unchanged.

War was coming, and if something didn't change soon, Lilith wasn't sure that they'd stop it. The team had shown initial promise coming together and stopping Cinderblock. But, they were still getting to know each other and living under one roof had certainly illuminated a culture clash. Not a surprise when you have just about every personality living in close quarters, training against one another and ultimately just existing.

There were times that Lilith wished she could turn off her abilities, she had heard more than a few passing thoughts that she'd rather unheard.
▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅
▅▅▅▅▅▅
.....................................................
Suddenly, a piercing headache caused Lilith to double over in pain. She had barely made it out of her bed before she found herself frantically reaching for it again, preventing herself from falling to the floor. Images danced in front of her eyes, altogether at first before the layers started to come apart and the vision played out linearly.

Lilith saw the prisoner transport stalled on the side of the road. Its doors were blown off and heavy footprints cracked into the asphalt. Screams filled her head as a car flew through the air and she was brought face to face with Cinderblock.

Free again.
"No."

An alarm echoed through the Titans tower, rousing those within as Jupiter's voice echoed through the bunks.

"All team members please suit up. We have a situation developing."

Tossing and turning beneath a thin, simple sheet, the raven-haired shieldmaiden rubbed her tired eyes, resigning to lying on her back and staring toward the ceiling. San Francisco was a long way from Paradis, and the climate was entirely different. The heat and humidity were unlike anything she had experienced on the crisp, temperate island. Here, everything was sticky and fabric hung to the skin in a way that made Troia wish to forgo any sense of modesty in the desperate search for some reprieve.

It was hard to believe that Troia had been living in the tower for nearly three months. Five months ago, she has left Paradis in search of her sister. That trail led her to the myth known as the Batman. In the world of man, there was a tome known as a 'tabloid' which believed that Diana and this 'Dark Knight' were courting. Troia was unable to locate the Batman of Gotham, but fate intervened, and her path crossed with that of his protege. It was only then, she was brought into the fray in a battle against the one called 'Cinderblock'.

▅▅▅▅▅▅
.....................................................
The man of stone had proven to be a less than worthy adversary.

After an encore of a song she had to assume was called "She Keeps Me Up' based on how many times the raspy voiced man had yelled it out, Troia had had enough of her neighbor's music. Over the last couple of weeks, Troia had been introduced to 'popular culture' and all too soon became familiar with what Kyle Rayner referred to as 'Dad Rock'. The likes of Nirvana, the Foo Fighters, Green Day and Creed.

But one hand, this band was played more than any other. His lyrics clawed their way into Troia's head like a wyrm.

Nickelback.

"Skald!"
Troia yelled, making a frustrated cry before peeling the sheet back from her head. Her body sighed in relief at the sensation of open air providing reprieve from the humidity trapped within the cover. Sitting up, Troia felt the sheet beneath her stick to the small of her back, beads of sweat adhering to the fine fabric to the curvature of her body before finally letting go. Rapping a set of knuckles firmly against the wall, she was careful not to put her hand through the fragile walls of the Titans' Tower.

Again.

The Skald and Troia had an interesting relationship, to put it succinctly. While Troia respected his experience in combat, powers and artistic talents, it was his single-mindedness, fixations and choice of music that drove a wedge between them. Music on Paradis had been very different from the bubblegum pop, Dad joke and 'white girl' music that Kyle Rayner seemed to so enjoy. Still, Troia couldn't deny that the Skald made for a worthwhile companion and sparring partner.

There was something incredibly satisfying about making those constructs shatter into tiny green fragments.
▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅▅
▅▅▅▅▅▅
Standing with an elongated stretch, Troia felt around in the dim room until her hand discovered a t-shirt. Communal modesty was encouraged in the tower after all, and some of her compatriots were less than accustomed to the casual nudity of Paradis. Despite this, Troia had grown to enjoy the company of her male teammates even if they were incredibly different from her peers at home. Giving the shirt a quick sniff test, she pulled the baggy garment over her head and loose braids before rubbing her eyes again, only to now realize her hands were still taped from a late-night sparring session.

She looked at herself in the mirror, barely recognizing the girl looking back. She had come to the World of Men with a purpose, one she was currently failing at. Though this team needed her, and if she were honest, she too needed them, still her she was assimilating into a culture that Paradis was created to protect her from. In her search for her sister, was Troia too quickly losing herself?

Where are you Diana?

The thought hung in her head before she turned her head to the side, cracking her neck. Rolling her shoulders, Troia began to loosen her stiff muscles after a restless night of little sleep. She would not be lost to her thoughts, and all of this moping meant that Troia needed to hit something.

Hard.

The sounding alarm prompted a smile across Troia's face as Jupiter's voice echoed overhead. It looked like fate had once again intervened on her behalf.

Thank Freya.

Cracking her knuckles, the Valkyrie shed the t-shirt just as quickly as she had put it on. Her eyes twinkled, looking at her weapons before she donned her armour. The cool Mithril hugged her body, perfectly fitted like a second skin. Picking up the dwarven-made weapons, she inspected her blood, hovering the edge just in front of her face before taking a whiff of the Blodstál. The smell of battles fought was like an aphrodisiac.

Emerging from her quarters armed, Troia entered the briefing room to find Jupiter and Lilith waiting while the others followed suit. She looked around at her teammates, weighing their expressions, carefully hiding her eagerness for combat.
.....................................................

...
Troia had an itch to scratch.

"Hail," She greeted the gathered team, "Ser Jupiter, Lady Clay, where is the battle?"

"Cinderblock has escaped custody," Jupiter replied. "He's in the downtown shouting for the Titans. It appears he wants a rematch."

"Then, by Thor's hammer, let us not disappoint."

A self-made man, Loren Jupiter is an expert investor and financier who in his lifetime, has used his money and intellect to become a man with a lot of influence. A multi-millionaire several times over, Jupiter doesn't bat an eye at a cost and instead looks at the outcome and weighs the worth against the investment. A fan of the Justice League, in general, larger-than-life individuals, funding the Teen Titans is something of a personal joy for Jupiter as he sees it as a way to give back and invest into Earth's future.

A widower with no children of his own, Jupiter has taken a shine to Lilith, treating the girl as though she's his own daughter. Though by and far, Jupiter extends a fatherly figure over any of the Titans who will allow him to be such. A shrewd businessman with a keen eye, Jupiter knows exactly how to present the team in order to continue to garner public favour.

However, as trustworthy as he seems, Jupiter is not without his own agendas and though they're unknown at this time, there is no doubt that he has them. Many suspect Jupiter has abilities of his own, though none have ever been revealed, and the man is incredibly knowledgeable, even for an individual of his age, talking as though he's lived several lifetimes over, far beyond the fifty years he actually is.

While there is no doubt that Loren loved his late wife, there is another he loved more dearly, one who got away, and his heart longs to one day be reunited with that fiery woman.

The team's coordinator and liason, Jupiter does not venture into the field, but is often close by monitoring the situation via VTOL aircraft capable of quickly extracting the team should they get in over their head. This vehicle has been affectionately dubbed the 'T-Bird'.

A young woman with powerful precognitive powers, Lilith Clay was born under mysterious circumstances, snatched away from her birth mother in the middle of the night and delivered to an orphanage. She was adopted quickly and grew up in a loving family until the age of thirteen, when her powers began to manifest. Soon after, she accidentally read the minds of her parents and discovered them to actually be her foster parents. Lilith was then told her birth mother, a woman with red hair, left her in the care of the nearby orphanage. A new fire burning within her, Lilith set out to find her biological parents; at age 16, she left home.

Throughout her travels, she was largely unsuccessful in the search for her real parents and became an object of disgust and scorn. Because of her mental powers, Lilith was accused of being a witch. This was not helped by the recurring dream of the world ending, a vision which eventually caught the attention of Loren Jupiter. Unlike others she had met in her travels, Jupiter immediately viewed Lilith as trustworthy and sane, taking action of her visions and leading to the creation of the Teen Titans. Though Jupiter treats all the Titans with respect, Lilith has found that the older man dotes on her as a father would a daughter.

An early warning siren for the team, Lilith operates as an unofficial member and mostly stays to the tower. Though she has other abilities beyond her precognition, the powerful telepath prefers to stick to herself afraid of accidentally hearing something she shouldn't or her other abilities harming someone. A wallflower, Lilith is generally around, but rarely involved in most of the team's antics.

"I see my timing is as divine as always."

"I've shook hands with the divine, surely you jest, else I assume your tongue must be twisted in hyperbole." The Valkyrie teased as the boy from futures unknown entered the room with all the bravado of a still-wet-behind-the-ears vikingr back from his first raid. She playfully rustled his hair before her ears turned in attention to the conversation between M'Gann and Robin.

"Is this a regular thing for Earth criminals? Show up, get punched into the ground, then reappear like nothing happened?" The Martian girl observed. Troia had made a similar observation during her travels in the World of Men. Their law enforcement was more comparable to angling than it was to hunting.

She had found friction with more than a few of this society's laws.

"You'd be surprised. Remind me to tell you about Arkham." The Squire quipped.

"Had we executed Cinderblock as I suggested last time," Troia interjected, "We would not be dealing with this problem in the present." She added, her own opinion weighing heavily on the conversation with evident frustration in her tone. The Valkyrie believed in finality in justice; they did not let those who disrupted their society simply be locked up, nor did they attempt rehabilitation.

Not all of her teammates saw it that way, however, and thus far, Troia had reluctantly restrained her blade. The mood was dampened once again by her mention of lethal force. Eager to resolve the situation, Troia looked to Kyle with a subtle nod, respectfully agreeing with his question before addressing Ser Jupiter.

"It may prove to be a boon, 'twere to split the team in two. A smaller team to investigate how Cinderblock could have escaped his wardens, while the rest of our merry clan intercede on the city's behalf."

"And who would you suggest, Troia?" Jupiter asked, weighing his evaluation of the team's resident strategist.

"The Squire and the Paladin," Troia replied, gesturing towards Kyle and Robin. "Perhaps, Lady M'Gann, her abilities may prove beneficial."

Jupiter nodded, the corner of his eye watching Lilith for any negative reaction to Troia's suggestion. But the meek redhead remained mute, her body language no more tense than normal.

"Make it so, Green Lantern, Robin and Martian will investigate the transport and see if they can determine how Cinderblock escaped. Arsenal, Stitch and I will take to the T-Bird for the eagle-eye view, Superboy and Wondergirl will fly ahead, with Kid Flash holding the line until we arrive."

"Should he cause the loss of a single life, I will not hesitate to end his." She turned to leave, pausing to motion to Superboy, "Come along, Frændi, battle awaits."

Agnostic, nomadic folk who live off the land. Primarily employ weapons that are used for hunting and can be made from bone, metal weapons and armour are stolen and pillaged. Mounts and beasts of burden are highly revered and well taken care of, the land is seen as a member of the tribe.

<"How is the test going?">

The masked voice echoed through the young woman's earpiece as she surveyed the scene left in the wake of Cinderblock's rampage before turning her gaze toward the tower in the distance. Though she knew Thai wasn't his native tongue, the man's accent was flawless, perfectly disguising his voice should anyone be listening in. Overhead, the sun reflected off the girl's shimmering white hair before she lowered the binoculars away from her eyes, one covered by an eye patch.

<"The Superzeroes have definitely noticed, not that you made it subtle."> She replied dryly to the voice on the other side. <"You sure riling up the Kinderleague is the best course of action?">

<"They're perfect."> The voice replied, its tone making the hairs on the back of the woman's neck stand on edge. She fought to remain composed, a shiver running down her spine. This was the family business, no better time to learn to stomach the worst parts.

<"Joseph better appreciate this,"> The white-haired girl muttered before starting her motorcycle. <"I'm moving to get a better view of the block head. Are you sure your mysterious sponsor didn't juice him up too much?">
<"Positive.">

"Aye, aye then," She muttered in English; more to herself than the voice on the other end of the line. Taking a second, she paused before acknowledging the other agent in action, <"What about the popsicle? You leaving him to thaw out?">

<"Consider it a gift for the Titans, another 'rogue' to add to their roster.">

<"You're getting soft, Daddy."> The young woman teased the voice, <"I'll be sure to tell Tar-">

Before she could finish, the line went dead. Leaning onto the motorcycle's handlebars, the white-haired girl turned to leave before klaxons sounded from the distant tower. The alarm echoed across the San Francisco Bay, carried by the waters of the Pacific.

Back within the tower, Jupiter had buckled himself into the cockpit of the T-Bird while Arsenal and Stich accompanied him in the carrier craft. The hanger began to ascend to the roof to the tower while the T-shaped building slowly rotated around them until the arms were pointed towards the scene of Cinderblock's assault. Doors retracted above the small jet, the sun breached the glass windows, forcing those within the aircraft to quickly adjust to the bright outside.

Clamps closed around the landing gear and the jet was suddenly pulled backwards across a rail system while the sound of charging electromagnets echoed from outside. Guide rails rose up from the edge of the roof while the turbines within the bird powered up. Behind the engines, a grated diffusion rose up before a projected countdown appeared on the heads-up display in front of Jupiter.

Gripping the controls, the older gentleman looked at both of his passengers, ensuring they were buckled in. With a subtle acknowledgement from each, he pushed the throttle forward. Beneath the jet, the electrified guides shot the jet forward like a rain gun, launching it towards the city. Wings expanded as it began to fly of its own accord before quickly shifting to a hover mode once Cinderblock was in sight.

Cinderblock escaped the usual metahuman classification. For all intents and purposes, the being was more akin to a golem. Nothing Jupiter or law enforcement for that matter, had been able to find ever suggested that Cinderblock had an identity beyond his aptly given nickname. He didn't transform under meta-dampeners, and he never tried to communicate to any one from a previous life.

He was just Cinderblock; a mass of moving rubble.

The last time the Titans had fought him, the living boulder was easily over seven feet tall. But by Jupiter's scans, Cinderblock was now towering at around eleven feet. Somehow, he had gotten bigger and no doubt stronger as well. A faint violet glow was coming off Cinderblock, his durable exterior burning with rippling energy that crackled and slithered across his stoney surfaces.

Kid Flash had already engaged the rogue by the time the T-Bird had arrived. Based on Cinderblock's reaction, it seemed that Kid Flash was certainly keeping the towering giant busy while local law enforcement had taken advantage of the opportunity to evacuate civilians from Union Square.

Carefully maneuvering the vehicle, Loren Jupiter pressed a couple buttons before a bay door slid open by Arsenal and Stitch.

"Now would be a good time to stand landing those shots." The older man mused, however the T-Bird suddenly caught Cinderblock's attention. From below the T-Bird, the man of rock quickly palmed a car within just one of his massive hands before hurling it towards the Titans' plane.

"Evasive maneuvers, hold on!" Jupiter snapped, rolling the T-Bird out of the way. Cinderblock roared as his throw missed, prompting the mountain of a man to reach for another. Scooping it up, he hurled it as hard as he could only for the vehicle to stop mere feet from his outstretched hand.

Suddenly, Cinderblock came face to face with Wonder Girl as both she and Superboy arrived.

"I would really prefer if you could refrain from throwing the motorized carriages at my allies."

Placing the car back on the ground, Troia drew her weapons. Cinderblock was bigger than she remembered, though given the energy pulsing off of him, she did not doubt that his sudden growth spurt was related to these mystic energies. The energy ripples resonated with Troia, washing over her, attracted to her divine nature. Whatever had caused Cinderblock to grow was not from Midgard, which made Troia more than a little cautious that they weren't caught in some trickster god's sick game.

Cinderblock let out another roar before delivering a fist through the edge of a nearby building, compromising some of its structural integrity. It would have to be evacuating quickly and then either a controlled destruction, forcing it to implode in on itself, or immediate repairs. Were the Paladin here, he would have been able to control the damage immediately, but that was not an option.

"We need to get the golem out of the city," Troia yelled to Superboy, "And that building needs to be evacuated." She added, looking towards Kid Flash. Superboy was fast, but Kid Flash was faster. Troia could probably hold her own against Cinderblock if the two drengs were to work together to evacuate the building. But she couldn't be sure there wouldn't be more collateral damage. The buildings were too dense here, and without Green Lantern, they were limited on containment options.

"Superboy!" Troia called, "Can you stabilize that building?" She asked, gesturing to where Cinderblock had warped the steel column. With his heat vision, Superboy might be able to adjust the warp and stabilize it until a more permanent solution could be enacted.

"I'll hold him for now, but I need your help to get him out of here," Troia added. She knew Superboy could fly better than she could. With a foe struggling to be free, this much larger than her, she'd need the help. If they each took an arm, they could easily move this fight North into the Headlands. Raising her shield, Troia slid backwards from a glancing blow before drawing her blade and lunging forward. Sparks flew as the Blodstál blade dragged against the near-impenetrable exterior of the metahuman.

At least, she had the fight she had been longing for.

The prison transport lay abandoned just off the Eastbound I-80 outside of Oakland. As observed by Green Lantern, the vehicle itself had been ripped apart, not only from the inside but also by external forces that had compromised the exterior through supercooling, which left it in a brittle and fragile state. The asphalt also showed signs of extreme temperature change, having become brittle along the path where the vehicle skidded off the road and into the guardrail. The four escort cruisers had been toppled in a blitz attack, the telltale signs of Cinderblock's fists embossed into the doors and rocker panels. Heavy footsteps led towards the bridge before a broken rail indicated that Cinderblock had gone through the waters of the San Francisco Bay, explaining how he had remained undetected before landfall in the city proper.

Upon arrival, Green Lantern began to immediately aid those gathered around the scene. Traffic was backed up in both directions, and a nearby building was about to collapse, having clearly been struck by a stray blast of whatever had taken out the prison transport. Evacuating people from within the building, the people cheered on the Emerald Knight while Robin and Miss Martian were free to clear the scene and further investigate.

From within the crowd, one figure kept a close watch over the three Titans. A long coat concealed his figure while a wide-brimmed hat was pulled down over his face. A small crept across his pale features as his exhaled breath left a mist in the air that was lost in the spray from the nearby ocean.

His contact had only told him to take out the transport, but the disguised man was itching for a real fight. The cops didn't put up with one, and that was not cool with him. These three on the other hand, imagine if he took them down.

That'd finally show his old man he was worth something.

Plus if he took out Robin, he'd have bragging rights even Fries didn't have.

"Hey! Booster Gold!" The figure yelled mockingly towards Kyle, "Freeze!" He laughed manically before Icicle Jr. suddenly shed his disguise and attacked the three superheroes. A gout of frost blasted towards the Green Lantern from one outstretched hand while the other immediately began targeting those Kyle had just rescued to ensure he split the Titans' attention.

"Ice to meet you, Titans."

The City of Steel(?)

Capital of the ___ Nation, who thrives on the worship of war, combat and its armaments. Weapons and armours are highly sacred and personal, with those who forgo them shunned from society. Smiths are the equivalent of high priests, and a forge is the heart of every major city. Either strength in combat or skill in craft earns respect. Currency isn't as valued in the Nation of Steel, instead trade and bartering, especially of materials or well-crafted arms and armour are seen as valuable. Though it would be sacrilege to barter ones own weapons or armour.

Agnostic, nomadic folk who live off the land. Primarily employ weapons that are used for hunting and can be made from bone, metal weapons and armour are stolen and pillaged. Mounts and beasts of burden are highly revered and well taken care of, the land is seen as a member of the tribe.

At home in the swampy jungles of the South, the ___ thrive on Deep Magic coming from beneath the swampy waters of the jungle. Strongest on their own native lands, these people are capable of bending anywhere around the globe to their will. Cities and settlements throughout the jungle are not built but rather shaped by bending the environment to their wills. Much in the same way, the xenophobic folk instead prefer to arm and protect themselves with the gifts of their nature.

In 1984, the sleepy hamlet of Crestwood Hollow was rudely awakened by the terrorism of a serial killer who targeted local youth. During the investigation, it was uncovered that these teenagers were all united by one defining factor. Each of them was a Hyperhuman. Hyperhumans were a relatively new phenomenon, tracing back to a mysterious eclipse in 1967 that doused the globe in an unprecedented coronal mass ejection with such amounts of electromagnetic interference that it left the world in the dark for the weeks to follow.

In the wake of this event, people with extraordinary abilities began to surface. Though originally met with awe, this admiration soon turned to fear as neighbour was turned against neighbour. Following the events in Crestwood Hollow, fear spiked to a new high and prejudice against Hyperhumans led to a new wave of crime. Everyone was suspicious of the bogeyman under the bed, and numerous false reports were filed, leading to the legal system overburdened with processing humans and Hyperhumans alike.

The burgeoning Bureau of Hyperhuman Enforcement, Logistics, and Protection knew it had to intervene, and thus, the Hyperhuman Investigative Tactical Unit was born.

Participants will each portray an agent of the Bureau of Hyperhuman Enfocement, Logistics and Protection. More specifically, each player will be a member on an (in)famous Hyperhuman Investigative Tactical Unit, or more colloquially, a H.I.T. Squad. Relying on a combination of forensics, negotiation and psychological profiling, the role of the a H.I.T. Unit is to stop ongoing Hyperhuman Incidents while working collaboratively with local law enforcement.

As a H.I.T. agent, your character will be a specialized operative employed by the Bureau with a history in investigation, law, criminology and forensics. Players are encouraged to create a niche specialization for their characters based either on real-world specializations or on those which fit into the lore of the 'Hyperverse'. In addition to their skills and experience, players will also be Hyperhuman characters, people who have undergone virumosis and developed extraordinary abilities. Hyperhuman lore, abilities, and classifications will all be disclosed in the attached lore document.

This roleplay will be a historical fantasy superhero police procedural, set during the mid-1990s. As such, the story, setting and tone are highly inspired by media like Criminal Minds, Grimm, and the CSI franchise while also taking heavy influences from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Heroes. GM Posts will include a list of points of investigation for players to proceed with, and pending their skills and experience, they will be weighed on how successful they are. Players will be put in situations where their characters may be attacked, captured, tortured or even killed, pending actions and player participation.

After a string of murders plagues the West Coast leaving both local and federal law enforcement baffled, H.E.L.P. is consulted and invited to bring a team of their own into the investigation. Immediately identifying the serial killer as a Hyperhuman, a hand-picked Hyperhuman Investigative Tactical Unit is placed on the case. Bringing together the Bureau's top investigative agents, personalities clash and opinions divide the team, leading them to ultimately have to put aside their differences and forge ahead before any more innocent people die.

Founded in 1977 as the Hyperhuman & Human Alliance or the more stylized '3HA', the Bureau of Hyperhuman Enforcement, Logistics & Protection seeks to help not only Hyperhumans within Canada but also offers international aid. Originally a joint creation between Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) and the Canadian National Defence. The Bureau, or H.E.L.P., eventually grew to the point where it too split into various divisions. Splitting into three divisions, H.E.L.P. divided itself into the Enforcement and Response Division, the Department of Education and Logistics, and the Office of Hyperhuman Protection and Research.

The first of these divisions, Enforcement and Response, is responsible for tracking down and containing Hyperhumans who do in fact, abuse their abilities. Built around proactively monitoring for Hyperhuman threats, responding to Hyperhuman crimes and at worst, intervening against Persons of Mass Destruction, the Enforcement and Response division is seen by many to be where the action is. This division also works hand in hand with local and federal jurisdictions alike, training them in how to defuse and negotiate a Hyperhuman threat in addition to where and when to use force.

Falling under the division of Enforcement and Response, the Hyperhuman Investigative Tactical Unit supports frontline patrol with complex and lengthy investigations. H.I.T. Investigators work with other law enforcement agencies and community partner organizations as part of our commitment toward community safety and Hyperhuman crime prevention.

While relations between law enforcement and H.E.L.P. are shaky with word of Hyperhumans becoming more and more public knowledge. This has led to a perpetual state of fear and paranoia taking ahold of the world. Propaganda against Hyperhumans is widespread, especially in North America. Laws have been passed that prohibit Hyperhumans from positions of authority on suspicion of using their abilities to gain an advantage. Athletes and other competition-driven professions were heavily screened. Although there were those who chose to use Hyperhumans to their own advantage and more than one man or woman desperate to make a living allowed themselves to be drawn into the shadier side of things.

Hyperhuman crime has been on the rise since the dawn of the 1990s, and with it came Hyperhuman vigilantism. While those involved might have thought they were aiding their cause and helping the Hyperhuman public image, the result was in fact, the opposite, leading to a rough relationship between the Bureau and other agencies.

The authority of the GM in regards to the Game's Lore, Character Submissions, Player Participation and all other aspects of the roleplay is absolute. The GM holds a veto over any Co-GMs appointed after the game's launch, and the GM can dismiss any player at a whim without warning or reason. Any players applying to this RP acknowledge this and have waived any right to complain henceforth.

As all lore for the roleplay was created by the GM, the GM's interpretation trumps any other reading and the GM is within their power to rewrite the lore at a later time. As all players accepted for this RP were chosen by the GM, should any players give reason for the GM to rescind that acceptance, it is within their right to do so. Should the RP falter for a period extending a month, the GM may choose to end the RP.

At all times, the GM has absolute control over the actions of the IC and does not require player permission to affect player characters. Whether by affliction or death, the GM can exercise their power over the narrative, there does not need to be any aforementioned coordination and such correspondence is a privilege, not a right.

Character sheets are to use the provided skeleton in the Character Tab. You are welcome to expand upon the base character skeleton, some additional add-ons have been suggested below the base skeleton. You may not remove any requested criteria from the base skeleton, nor may you, under any circumstances, omit requested information from your sheet. While some elements of your sheet could be expanded upon throughout the 'In Character' portion of the game, you may not purposefully keep pertinent information from other players.

Information for the Character Sheets should be taken directly from the linked document above. Players may only create a Hyperhuman Character, any characters which are not Hyperhumans, including the supporting cast are not acceptable at the time of launch in this roleplay. Character sheets which blatantly have not read the provided information will not be taken into consideration for the game and thus denied. Additionally, it is requested that any submitted characters be created for this roleplay and not be 'tweaked' or repeated characters from other games. A lot of work has gone into creating this game, its setting and its lore. It would be considered disrespectful for a player to simply port a character from an existing or previous roleplay into this one. All characters should be a minimum age of twenty-five [25] and no older than sixty-five [65].

In keeping with the themes and tone of the roleplay, it is asked that all players use photographic face claims for their characters. In the event, your Hyperhuman has a non-human outward appearance, some leniency can be applied to the rule, but it would still be preferable if you used a photo-realistic image if possible. Under no circumstances will the following images be accepted; anime, hand-drawn sketches, low-grade renders, manga, or any other comparable media. The intent of the Character Sheet is to imitate a file that the school would have, and thus any media which does not capture that vision is not acceptable.

C H A R A C T E R S P E R P L A Y E R:
This roleplay was envisioned as a character-driven collaboration between players. As such, each player will only be allotted a single, primary point-of-view character. This character may be rounded out by a supporting cast which can consist of friends, other students, family or even staff or other residents of the school grounds. In the event that an active primary character is killed during the roleplay, that player may either promote one of their supporting cast to their new primary or submit a new character for consideration. In either instance, the new primary character will be expected to go through the character submission process as outlined in the following rules.

C H A R A C T E R S U B M I S S I O N S:
All Character Sheets must be posted publically in the Out of Character thread for submission. Character sheets may be sent to the GM for coding help, but no review of the material will be performed privately. Any character sheets sent solely through a Private Message for submission will be ignored.

Please do not repost your character sheet in the OOC thread multiple times, especially in multiple states of completion. If you must post an incomplete character sheet to the thread, please link to the original post upon completion and tag the GM(s) upon doing so. Ideally, the only sheets posted to the thread will be completed and ready for review. Under no circumstance should a character be posted directly into the Character Tab with the exception of those belonging to the GM Team.

The idea behind this is to encourage players to sheets with complimentary attributes or abilities. A large emphasis in the lore is that Hyperhumans display more niché abilities than you see in other superhuman media. Additionally, having characters who are too similar increases the chances that only one of them would be accepted. Ideally, there will be a good mix of personalities and abilities amongst the cast.

At the time of launch, the roleplay will be accepting between three [3] and seven [7] players. If at a later date slots become available or additional are added, this will be communicated through an announcement in the OOC and/or through an Interest Check.

P O W E R S & L E V E L S:
Hyperhuman abilities or powers can manifest in all shapes and sizes. This is covered thoroughly in the linked document above. As such, any abilities which do not match what is laid out in the lore, cross between Primary or Secondary classifications or use multiple classifications will be rejected and have to be reworked. Additionally, players should keep their abilities on the lower end of the power spectrum. While the Power Scale and Threat Level will be assigned by the GM, players should still tailor their abilities to fit within the lower end of these spectrums. As new students to Pacific Royal Collegiate & Academy, abilities should have room to grow and develop. If a character is already fully proficient with their abilities, then they have no use for a role at the school.

R E V I E W C R I T E R I A & P R O C E S S:
Once a Character Sheet has been officially submitted to the OOC thread, the review process can begin. Initially, at the launch of the roleplay, the GM will give a date upon which they will conduct the first round of reviews. If you are joining the thread at a later date, please allow for a period of twenty-four hours after your sheet has been posted for the GM to review it. If the GM has not acknowledged your sheet after twenty-four hours, you may contact them directly to ensure it was not missed.

Character sheets will be reviewed in accordance with the rules laid out above. The sheet needs to use the correct skeleton, containing all the necessary criteria and in accordance with the information laid out in the linked document. If any information in the sheet directly contradicts or misinterprets the lore, it will need to be corrected. If all of the above is met, the character will then be evaluated against the rest of the pending or accepted cast. Each character will be evaluated for what they bring to the group and any completely redundant characters will be given a chance to change or update if there is an open character slot available.

As the GM, I reserve the right to deny, veto or otherwise reject any character application based on any number of factors that I find make the character unfit for this roleplay. This can include player history, perceived literacy, lack of understanding of the game's concept, unruly behaviour in the iCheck/OOC/Discord, towards the GM, and other players or simply a generally poor attitude. If all of the above are met, and the GM does not have any outstanding concerns, then the character and player will be accepted into the roleplay.

P O S T I N G C O N T E N T:

G E N E R A L P O S T I N G:
There will be absolutely no 'OOC' chatter in the In Character Thread. If you have a question or anything to explain there is an Out Of Character Thread and Discord both provided. You have no excuse to make an 'OOC' comment in the IC and if done it will be heavily frowned upon. Furthermore, remember that you are your character, so act like them. Create or portray their mannerisms, powers, and ideals to how they have been established in the game. Be the character, not just yourself with the character's powers. The notes section of your CS has been provided for such a reason, use it to help yourself remain consistent in character portrayals.

An example of the GM post format has been provided on the Zeroth post of the In Character Tab. This is not a mandatory format and is only a suggestion. Players may use the provided format or model their posts off of it. It is requested that all posts are easily identifiable as to which character is the primary point of view, especially in the event of a collaborative post. Furthermore, it's a good idea to indicate any interactions, or at the very least, if seeking a direct interaction to either talk to the other player(s) publically in the OOC or privately via PM.

Writing expectations for this roleplay are at least two [2] well-developed paragraphs as a minimum per post. Three [3] to five [5] paragraph posts however would be awesome so long as you're not simply chewing the scenery. Proper spelling and grammar are also expected but small mistakes here and there are understandable. Blatant offences will be called out.

You are required to post at least once within a period of ten days [10] after the GM plot post advances the RP and once every two weeks or fourteen [14] days after your last post provided there has been no GM post in between. Extensions will only be given in extenuating circumstances. Please recognize your limitations before joining the RP, if you are unable to post once every fourteen days, then it's highly likely that you do not have enough time to keep up with the RP.

In the event that you do miss the deadline, your character will be listed as 'inactive'. After a further week of inactivity, your character will be expelled, and dealt with as necessary in the IC, whether killed or used as needed and then discarded. This whole process is simply easier if you just let the GM know if you're unable to keep up or simply have lost interest in the RP.

P O S T I N G O R D E R:
There will be no formal posting order for this roleplay. That said, players are asked to wait for others between posts. If there have been no new posts in three [3] days, then by all means if you can post again then please do so. In the event of interacting with another player, please do not consecutively post back-to-back, if it's not going to be a collaborative post, then you are leaving the option for another player to get involved. Please respect that and allow for that option. If this is not the intention, then please use a collaborative post to keep the interaction concise.

Each new scene of the primary plot will begin with a GM post. If you posted last before the GM update, you are free to post immediately again if you so wish. Players are free to run their own character-driven scenes, and those involved will be responsible for driving these plots and determining posting order and frequency.

P U S H I N G T H E S C E N E:
Every post should push the scene that the character is involved in. If your post does not add anything to the scene and does not encourage interaction, or reaction, then you may want to rethink your post. Whether it adds to the GM plot, or a personal one, your posts should always add forward motion to keep the scene moving.

P U S H I N G T H E P L O T:
In the same vein as pushing the scene, there will be times when players are required to push the plot. Information specific to you and your character will be sent out via PM or Discord which you can then use to push the plot. This can also be done in collaboration with the GM, especially as your characters grow and develop more throughout the roleplay.

R E A C T I O N S:
Reactionary posts are the bread and butter of every roleplay. Be sure to consistently read all previous replies in order to accurately capture any details, especially those in GM posts and avoid the game of 'post telephone' where one player misinterprets a detail and this misinterpretation becomes persistent across the RP. Try to ensure that while a post may be simply reactionary to a previous one, that it's not entirely just a restating of facts from your character's perspective. As mentioned above, if the post doesn't push the scene, there's not a lot of value to it.

I N T E R A C T I O N S:
Don't be scared to interact with your castmates. Players want to be interacted with and even those who are playing loner characters aren't looking to just go off in the corner of the sandbox.

If you find yourself in a plot with another player and they disappear, do your best to move on without them and quickly finish the arc to the best of your ability, or ask for the help of a GM.

C O L L A B O R A T I V E P O S T S:
For situations where the focus is on interaction, a collaborative post is an ideal vessel to quickly and concisely complete the interaction without posting back and forth. Though as the RP is an exercise in collaborative writing, please do not become reliant upon only writing through collabs. Collaborative posts can slow down the RP, and often lead to stagnant periods of inactivity. If working on a collab, please keep the group updated, and if the collab has a natural breaking point, please post it in pieces to push the RP along. If you are only writing collaborative posts, you risk locking yourself and others out of opportunities for interaction. While collaborative posts are a great tool, they can just as quickly become a crutch. Please put as much effort into providing a solo post as you do collaborative ones.

S E X U A L C O N T E N T:
This is an RP involving adult characters and I realize that relationships are a part of this. While I have no problem with this I do want it kept in a specific way to avoid breaking any rules, site or otherwise. As part of RPG's official rules, mature content is forbidden on the forums. You may, however, use the standard fade-to-black technique if you desire, but any content preceding or following should be kept to a PG-13/14A standard (May contain: violence, coarse language and/or sexually suggestive scenes.).

In the interest of protecting underage writers, players above the age of majority [18], shall not write romantic situations or relationships with other players below the age of majority, even if they are within the age of consent. Special consideration can be given to individuals who are both within the age of consent [17 or 18 respectively]. If you enter into writing this kind of content, then it is assumed that both parties are within the same age bracket, whether that is above or below the age of majority [ie, both parties are either above or below the age of 18]. If you are caught lying, you will be evicted from the roleplay and reported to site staff.

I implore you to keep within the age restrictions set up already by the administration. Please use common sense if you're going to seek a relationship within the RP. You have been warned of my expectations on this matter and should you fail to follow through you will be asked to leave the roleplay and reported for breaking site rules.

C O M M I T M E N T & C O N S I S T E N C Y:
If you join this RP, if you take the time to submit an application, I'm putting my faith in you that you'll be committed to it and that the character you play will be consistent with the one in the agreed-upon CS. Personally, I have a hard time with this sometimes and I understand that things just happen. That said I’m referring to suddenly giving a character new powers with no explanation or completely changing their backstory in order to add new skills. I’m okay with changes but I’d like a heads-up first so perhaps we can work a more natural way towards these things happening. In terms of commitment, dropping out of the RP randomly for whatever reason is a pain or a GM. Simply put, it wastes my time along with the other players.

If you do not think you can join and you're sure something will come up, do not join. Tendency to not care about an RP after a while? Don't join. Simple as that. I will work with you when it comes to bumps in the road. If you think you're going to be out for a couple of days, that's fine. I'll find a way to excuse you from the story or play your character. However, please let the group know as far in advance as possible. If you're going on a trip, tell me something. Do not leave me wondering where you are. Let me know so I can keep things going. I will work around you if you work with me when you can.

E T I Q U E T T E:
Hyperhumans have enough problems in their world, so let's not bring that here. The goal of any roleplay is first and foremost to have fun. If we don't get along, then that's not going to happen and respectfully, not everyone will get along. If I'm not a good GM for you, then I'd rather we part amicably early on than go on rubbing each other the wrong way. Let us be respectful of one another, their ideas and their posts. Give each other compliments and constructive feedback, let people know you're reading their posts and build each other up. We're all here to tell a story, so let's work together to get the most out of this roleplay.

I S T H I S A N O R I G I N A L U N I V E R S E?
This RP is based in what I like to call the 'Hyperverse'. It is a soft reboot and adaption of my previous original universes of Vigilance and the Mavericksverse. The biggest difference is the complete erasure of the heroes known as the Mavericks. This is due to the fact I only can claim the rights to one of the characters. In terms of differences from Vigilance, there have been several changes made to Hyperhumans, most notably the redefining of their abilities and limitations, an isolated power source, and a shared weakness. Any and all information relating to the 'Hyperverse' can be found in the linked Google Document.

D O R E A L W O R L D L O C A T I O N S E X I S T?
Simply yes, while H.E.L.P.'s bases are all fictional, Base Alpha is still set on the very real Dundas Island off the coast of British Columbia and the country known as Canada. Real-world cities such as New York, and San Francisco, all exist with no changes outside of the Hyperhuman population and minor technological advancements made in the lore.

I S T H I S A D I R E C T C O N T I N U A T I O N O F T H E P R E V I O U S P A C I F I C R O Y A L C O L L E G I A T E & U N I V E R S I T Y R P?
No, other than a shared point in history, the two roleplays have nothing in common. The P.R.C.U. series of RPs have all been set five minutes into the future where this one is set thirty years into the past. The only commonalities are shared lore and history.

A R E N E W P L A Y E R S W E L C O M E O R I S T H I S O N L Y F O R R E T U R N I N G P L A Y E R S?
As mentioned above, I see this RP as a way to have a bit of a clean slate. Thus, my desire is to have a mix of both new and old players to give the RP some fresh twists. If the RP was only going to be returning players, then I would simply do a continuation. That is not this RP's priority or main intention.

C A N I M A K E A N O R I G I N A L C H A R A C T E R?
Yes, in fact, that would be preferable to adapting a character originally conceived for another RP. However, there is no penalty for re-using a character, and it won't slow or affect your acceptance. As stated above, I've put a lot of work into crafting this universe and would prefer concepts built specifically conceived for this roleplay.

H O W M A N Y P L A Y E R S W I L L T H E R E B E?
The aim is to gather between three to seven reliable players, plus myself, who will make up the returning students. If need be we can run the RP with as few as three. New players can be added down the road if our numbers dwindle and cause the RP to cease moving. If, however, we keep a full roster or a consistent pace, there will be no need to recruit, and no new acceptances will be made.

C A N I H A V E M U L T I P L E C L A S S I F I C A T I O N S?
Hyperhumans typically have only one Primary Classification, with one Secondary Classification. This means any abilities that your character has must be justified under the single secondary classification. Characters may not have more than one Primary or Secondary Classification. This system was developed intentionally to move characters away from being a 'Superman' and more in line with Marvel's 'X-Men'.

C A N I U S E M A G I C?
Characters in this RP are required to be Hyperhumans only. That said, no you are not able to use magic or gain your abilities from any other source. This means you can not be a vampire, werewolf, alien or demi-god.

C A N I H A V E M O R E T H A N O N E C H A R A C T E R S?
You may only have one primary character in this RP, however, you are encouraged to develop a cast of secondary characters to interact with and challenge your character. It is more than welcome for each character to come from within different courses, programs and school teams. In the event that your character has died in the IC, you may create a replacement player provided you weren't removed from the RP for any of the reasons specified under the rules.

C A N M Y C H A R A C T E R B E B A D / E V I L?
Your character should struggle with morality, after all, suddenly being gifted with powers above those of mere mortals could lead to some overwhelming temptation whether to get revenge or use them for self-gain. But that said, your character should not spiral out of control, or at least the group should step in before then. The overall idea is that our characters do become forces for good in the end. Keeping in mind the setting and organizations involved, were your character considered to be a threat to society, they'd be arrested by H.E.L.P.

C A N M Y S E C O N D A R Y C H A R A C T E R S B E B A D / E V I L?
You are free to do as you wish with secondary characters. If you wish to mould them into an antagonist for the group you are encouraged to consult me and we can collaborate on how to make that happen. There will be opportunities for characters to shift alliances and become more antagonistic as the plot unfolds.

C A N M Y C H A R A C T E R D I E?
Simply put yes. There will be moments in the RP where character death is entirely possible and I would like to treat these moments in as real of a manner as I can. Treat your character as vulnerable, and think through actions. If your character is vulnerable to gunfire and incites someone to open fire, they will be shot. Going into this RP you should know that in the event one of these situations arises, I will not ask if I can kill your character, I will simply do it. Abandoned characters will often be turned into cannon fodder.

I F M Y C H A R A C T E R D I E S, A M I O U T O F T H E R P?
Ultimately, this will be a discretion of the GM during the event of a character's death. Per the above rules about the authority of the GM though, you may also be removed ultimately pending the GM's decision at the time. Every character's death will be looked at on a case-by-case basis. A player who has consistently and strongly contributed to the game will be more than welcome to continue with a new player; however, in the case of an abandoned character, that player will not be allowed to continue. An abandoned character means you've likely dropped the RP, or missed your posting deadline, thus meaning you're out. If your character died by circumstance, you are free to either make a new character or promote a member of your secondary cast to a primary role and continue as part of the RP. I also understand bowing out after the death of your character, though.

Tiberius Abraham Church was born Tiberius De Laurentis to a wealthy family along the coast of Tuscany in 1937. As a child, Italy was under the rule of the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini. Tiberius' father served in the Royal Italian Army, while his mother was an immigrant from France. Both met their demise during the Second World War, leaving Tiberius in the care of the Roman Catholic Church.

Eventually, the young boy was adopted by a former member of the British Armed Forces who had fallen madly in love with a Canadian Nurse. The newlyweds had experienced the horrors of war, and adopting a war orphan was their way of giving back. Lionel, Tiberius' new adoptive father, served in the British Armed Forces through the Royal Army Medical Corps as an assistant surgeon before using his medical degree to work as a Medical Examiner once in Canada. It was this career choice that exposed Tiberius from a young age to an interest in law enforcement.

An academically inclined individual, Church originally attended the University of Toronto, intent on following in his father's footsteps. While he obtained a Bachelor of Science specializing in Forensic Pathology, Church ultimately ended up pursuing law, passing the LSAT with little difficulty and transferring to McGill University to complete both a Juris Doctor (JD) or a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. He would go on to return to Toronto after passing his bar exam, to complete his articling period in the employ of the Ontario Court of Justice.

However, Church began to find himself discontent working, in his opinion, retroactively against crime and chose to pursue further education. Finding a work and school balance that successfully funded his endeavour, Church attended the University of Ottawa, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He found later furthered his education and achieved a Master's in the field of Anthropological Criminology.

At the age of thirty-one, Church found himself among those who were subjected to the Virumosis during the events of the Dark Eclipse on October 18, 1967. The development of his abilities while at first jarring, soon began to accelerate his career. Though they were not without their own complications as Church continuously found himself suffering from painful migraines that made his work nearly impossible.

Serving as a legal counsel, Church would later move into law enforcement working with the medical examiner's office while balancing the demands of working with his studies. In his mid-thirties, Church offered a promotion within the force to Detective and eventually transferred from Ottawa once again back to Toronto as a member of the Metropolitan Police Department. It was here, in the Ontario Capital, that Church began to hone his career path and moved away from investigative work and into special operations. Undergoing training, Church became a Crisis Negotiator which allowed him to work alongside specialized units such as SWAT, bomb squad and canine units.

Church's impressive resume didn't go unnoticed and when H.E.L.P. was founded in 1977, Church was among their top candidates, hand-picked by former Special Agent Henry Duquesne. Previously a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States, Duquesne and Church had crossed paths on an investigation following an international serial killer. Duquense, alongside Dr. Jonas Schecter, had been responsible for much of the creation of both the Bureau of Hyperhuman Enforcement, Logistics and Protection and the Pacific Royal Collegiate. It had only taken the Director minutes of interacting with Church to realize he was a Hyperhuman and so, when H.E.L.P. needed individuals with law enforcement, Duquesne came knocking.

After nearly twenty years with the Bureau, Church is one of its most respected investigators and at the forefront of proactive intervention. There are those who would consider him in line to replace Duquesne if it wasn't for the fact that Church would hit retirement age first. Still, he's a highly respected Supervisory Special Agent who has been responsible for recruiting just as many Hyperhumans as he's been forced to put behind bars.

Church possesses a pair of virumosis-enhanced eyes that allow him to focus his attention into a penetrative gaze or a 'Hyperstare/Hyper-Stare'. This 'Hyperstare' is capable of macrovision, microvision and even focus through matter seeing its layers and what it conceals. In layman's terms, Church can through any object when focused. This is in contrast to 'X-Ray' vision which is limited by specific materials, Church on the other hand possesses no such limitation.

In addition to their exceptional vision range, Church's eyes and mental processing are also virumosis-enhanced, able to track and process movement at an accelerated rate. However, this is not a passive effect and much like his vision, it must be focused. At peak performance, Church can track the movement of a bullet as easily as one follows the flapping wings of a butterfly. However, while Church can follow and process movement at such speeds, his physical reflexes are completely human and unable to intervene any faster than someone retroactively responding to a gunshot.

As Church's eyes are not limited to the human field of vision either, he is able to magnify in on fine, even microscopic details or see distant objects clearly at a range of approximately three thousand meters. In contrast, while focused in macrovision, when pushed, Church can see objects as small as two nanometers in width, approximately the size of a strand of DNA.

In larger applications, Church's keen vision makes him an excellent investigator, marksman and negotiator. One such application of Church's abilities is body language analysis by reading the muscle movement of a suspect. This goes even further to viewing blood flow, comparing DNA against a sample, or even identifying a Hyperhumans. Church is even able to view the residual high-energy particles around a Hyperhumans and is able to determine how recently their abilities were used, or if they're about to be used.

As a marksman, Church is nearly an unprecedented shot even without a scope. An exceptional sniper, Church can take a clear shot at well over world record-breaking distances. Of course, he is still limited by external influences such as his weapon and environmental factors. But provided he's physical well and his abilities are active, Church never misses a shot.

It should be noted, however, that Church's abilities do nothing to augment his night vision or colour discernment.

L I M I T A T I O N S || F I E L D O F V I S I O N

Church's abilities suffer from several limitations, first and foremost, his field of vision. Church's Hyperhuman abilities have done nothing to augment his field of vision or peripheral vision. While he can see great distances and detail, he can't see anyone sneaking up on him any more than an average human, nor see any broader in front of him. While active, his abilities actually diminish his field of vision further, creating an almost tunnelling effect as he focuses his gaze.

In addition to this, Chuch has no additional boon to his night vision and was born colour blind, which also was not corrected when he underwent virumosis. As such, in dim lighting, Church will have the same trouble seeing as any other human, and likewise in darkness is completely blind. As is most common in men, Church suffers from protanopia, or red-green colour blindness. While this doesn't often hinder him in his day-to-day life, it has caused evidence to be brought into question and antagonistic lawyers to try to undermine his testimony on the stand.

W E A K N E S S E S || S E N S O R Y O V E R L O A D

Like all Hyperhumans, Church is vulnerable to attacks that employ irradiated electron bombardment. In the same vein, his abilities can only function so long as Church possesses his eyes. Should he suffer an injury to his eye that results in blindness, or worse, enucleation, Church would cease to possess his abilities.

Beyond this, Church suffers from extreme light sensitivity and is rarely caught without a pair of dark sunglasses. Even a minor rapid change in lighting can send Church reeling with a headache or migraine for hours up to days. For this reason, he often works in spaces with dimmed lighting and always keeps the blinds drawn. His abilities also have the potential to overwhelm his brain, and due to the focus required, he could easily suffer from bouts of sensory overload, which can also bring about migraines that last for extended periods.

"There's no moral requirement to be a Hyperhuman, but there is a responsibility. You failed that responsibility, and that demands penance. And in this room, I'm the high priest."

"You're blocking my sun and spoiling my Brunello di Montalcino."

"I hate to cut your vacation short," Duquense replied, "But I need you to come in." He stated while dropping a file beside the glass of red wine.

"The Director hand-delivering files after flying halfway across the world," Church mused, "The expense department must love you."

No, other than a shared point in history, the two roleplays have nothing in common. The P.R.C.U. series of RPs have all been set five minutes into the future where this one is set thirty years into the past. The only commonalities are shared lore and history.

I have this idea that Church is a widower who has like adult children, maybe even grandchildren, but is distant with them and is like a stoic playboy because of trauma and heartbreak surrounding his late wife's death
So he keeps his children at arm's length to protect them so they don't come to harm the same as their mother

Scene opens with hobbyist murder podcast discussing the killings. Speculations etc, ends with following one home, red herring only to redirect elsewhere.

Murder
-Animal Manipulator? 'Apex'

Switch to Church being pulled from vacation, establish Church and Duquesne before building the setting and opening the game up properly to the other players.

A pair of half-drunk wine bottles sat atop a table littered with snack platters. Music played softly in the background, blending with the din of the small crowd, as Dolores O'Riordan's vocals set the tone for the night. The group of five sat in a semicircle, an easel propped up in front of the large television set boasting an impressive 27" screen.

Gesturing towards the cork bulletin board propped up on the easel, Scott Winters was the first of the partygoers to speak.

"So this one," He gestured towards the first image tacked to the upper left corner of the board, "This one was originally thought to just be an animal attack," The gruesome picture in question was of a man's body, one of his arms missing while his other limbs were covered in bite marks along with his torso.

"There was so little left of his face, they had to identify him by dental records."

"Sure," The woman to his left interjected, "But that could just be a rabid dog, it doesn't mean murder,"

"I'd agree, if it had been an isolated incident," Another man replied from across the recessed sitting area. "That attack was in Seattle, but then you have that," He pointed to another image on the board, "Occurring just down the road in Tacoma."

"And what about that one, here in Portland," Scott asked, pointing to a third image.
