Interaction(s): Martian - @Half Pint, Robin - @Master Bruce, Superboy - @King Kindred, Previously: A Ballad of Skalds and Shieldmaidens
"I see my timing is as divine as always."
"I've shook hands with the divine, surely you jest, else I assume your tongue must be twisted in hyperbole." The Valkyrie teased as the boy from futures unknown entered the room with all the bravado of a still-wet-behind-the-ears vikingr back from his first raid. She playfully rustled his hair before her ears turned in attention to the conversation between M'Gann and Robin.
"Is this a regular thing for Earth criminals? Show up, get punched into the ground, then reappear like nothing happened?" The Martian girl observed. Troia had made a similar observation during her travels in the World of Men. Their law enforcement was more comparable to angling than it was to hunting.
She had found friction with more than a few of this society's laws.
"You'd be surprised. Remind me to tell you about Arkham." The Squire quipped.
"Had we executed Cinderblock as I suggested last time," Troia interjected, "We would not be dealing with this problem in the present." She added, her own opinion weighing heavily on the conversation with evident frustration in her tone. The Valkyrie believed in finality in justice; they did not let those who disrupted their society simply be locked up, nor did they attempt rehabilitation.
Not all of her teammates saw it that way, however, and thus far, Troia had reluctantly restrained her blade. The mood was dampened once again by her mention of lethal force. Eager to resolve the situation, Troia looked to Kyle with a subtle nod, respectfully agreeing with his question before addressing Ser Jupiter.
"It may prove to be a boon, 'twere to split the team in two. A smaller team to investigate how Cinderblock could have escaped his wardens, while the rest of our merry clan intercede on the city's behalf."
"And who would you suggest, Troia?" Jupiter asked, weighing his evaluation of the team's resident strategist.
"The Squire and the Paladin," Troia replied, gesturing towards Kyle and Robin. "Perhaps, Lady M'Gann, her abilities may prove beneficial."
Jupiter nodded, the corner of his eye watching Lilith for any negative reaction to Troia's suggestion. But the meek redhead remained mute, her body language no more tense than normal.
"Make it so, Green Lantern, Robin and Martian will investigate the transport and see if they can determine how Cinderblock escaped. Arsenal, Stitch and I will take to the T-Bird for the eagle-eye view, Superboy and Wondergirl will fly ahead, with Kid Flash holding the line until we arrive."
"Should he cause the loss of a single life, I will not hesitate to end his." She turned to leave, pausing to motion to Superboy, "Come along, Frændi, battle awaits."
