God Concept: Adria, The Goddess of Music and War. The beatings of enemy drums herald her arrival. Her prayers are the cries of valor on the lips of courageous mortals. To the minds behind strategic planning, she is their muse. To the common soldier that lives in fear, she is their drum that beats courage in their chest. Yet, when the soldier lies on the ground, she is there to sing them to their final resting place where they can finally know home.
Appearance: Adria is known for one form that changes to different soldiers' accounts. Primarily she is described as a beautiful woman with long silver hair, pure white eyes, and black ebony lips. Dressed in black armor that both wields elegance and brutality with ease. Yet what stays the same always is protruding from her back is a set of six angelic blood red wings that carry her towards the music of war and turn the sky red. Then in her hands is a trident of shifting metals that shift from light to dark. Always appearing and disappearing like the ending of a song.
Motivation: Adira desires endless war, not to sate a mindless bloodlust, nor to bask in praise upon the battlefield. She seeks war because, in its fires, mortals reveal the truest versions of themselves, whether their best or their worst. War strips away the lies of society and the slow decay of purposeless lives. Adira watches, fascinated, as mortals bare their souls in struggle, and she falls in love with them through the stories they create. These stories become songs in her realm, tales she cherishes as a reader cherishes beloved characters. For Adira, war is not the end, but the birthplace of meaning.
Roleplay Example:A soldier lies on his back, blood dripping from his lips while his crimson stained hands continue to hold his country's flag with desperate resolve. Surrounded by countless enemies and his brothers of war, he still drew breath, he still wanted to fight. Softly in death filled air, came a sharp voice that echoed with a beautiful melody accompanied by the beatings of wings. There in front of him was a beautiful woman that held sorrow in her eyes as she drifted closer to him. Her right black gauntlets held his hand with admiration while her left gauntlet held his banner with pride. ‘The stories were right; The Lullaby of War was real and didn’t even carry her trident. He tried to speak but his lips were sealed with her soft smile.
“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, Lewis of Oakheart.” Her voice was gentle despite the tales he heard. For some reason his heartbeat faster as a sense of joy echoed from her gentle voice. Her wings slowly surround him as she knelt down on the ground right beside him. “You fought to an honorable end, held your banner high above your own head, and refused to give in. For that, you will be remembered as The Bannerlord. Is there anything I can do?” She asked softly as she lifted his metal visor, her hand cupping his dirty cheek with no hesitation and talked like a mother comforting her child. He slowly leaned into her hand as he gazes into her pure sorrowful eyes.
“Remember my brothers… My enemies… Remember our sacrifice.” He muttered as death crept closer towards him. His breath slowed, but with her humming he felt no fear. A tear slowly drifted from Adria’s cheek and landed on his battered chest as she nodded her head and offered a smile.
“Your stories will never be forgotten. Not to me, not to anyone else. Now, sleep. Go to your daughter, I know she was waiting for you.” She smiled gently and as Lewis took his final breath, he closed his eyes and faded away. Adria laid him down amongst his fallen brothers as she stood on the battle ground. Her crimson wings outstretched the entire field as she begins to sing their song letting her voice be heard by both armies to let their souls be inspired by the sacrifice of fallen friends and foes. Then she rose to the sky once more, to continue the story of the first war.
Availability: Currently I am available anytime of the day and I always make sure to post as soon as I can.
Experience: I may be new to the website, but I am not new to roleplaying. I have about seven years of play by post under my belt. I will say the one thing I don’t like about Play by postings is how fast it can die out if we are waiting for one person or something of that nature. I like, play by post because basically whenever I have a free moment. Hope I satisfy your curiosity!
