You can post whenever it's your turn. I trust that you know the universal rules of roleplaying, so I don't intend to micromanage you. Just do what you see fit, and if I want to control the Warlock, I'll feed you enough information (mostly IC, maybe PM if the need arises) to point you in the right direction.

Remember, don't kill the player characters, don't get your character killed, and don't trap the players in a situation where we are forced to do either. And of course, the usual RP rules apply - don't god-mode or power-play.

Other than that, you really can do whatever you want. It's your character. ;-)

NO! Ugh, why is it that every time I start developing awesome plans for someone, they start plans to quit!? First it was XenoCyanide; I figured Xen and the Captain would make a great couple. Then he quits. Now I'm dreaming of Laina becoming an epic awesome world-leading healer, and ineffable drops the "killed-off" phrase.

Now, I know her writing would have looked better had I not read the OOC first. It looked pretty good all by itself, actually. Once I read the OOC, though, I couldn't help thinking that Laina sounded a bit evil. It could stand to be rewritten, but goodness gracious, don't kill Laina off over it!!

The writer side of me would be mortified if my work could be interpreted the way yours was, but the GM side of me wants to keep it for the purpose of character development. Considering how it's at odds with Laina's intended character, I'm inclined to agree that some kind of edit is in order.

I think her response should become clear once you have a good picture in your head of what's going on. The Warlock is focused on an epic duel with not one, not two, but three powerful sword fighters, and he's taking a lot of heat. Swords are whirling and batting every which way. The air is tense and frantic. Through the din of clashing metal and blood spurting from the Warlock's wounds, Laina has to say something that he can plausibly respond to when emotions (mostly adrenaline) are running high.

Subtle psychological manipulation won't cut it here. We're in a high-stakes battle. Only the most powerful emotions will get through to anyone. Laina needs to scream, cry, or otherwise express something dramatic to the Warlock to get his attention over the battle.

Nawh, I'm just messing. Its just some custom-made longsword that's slightly heaftier than the average design. Not cheap, but certainly not unique.
