@vietmyke Sounds ok to me. In that case, give him a few points in the ol' espionage too, since most people affiliated with the IRIO are at least sort-of spies. I was actually planning on having the ship be something like a skiff, built for running errands for the IRIO in the Upper Luft, and having it be crewed entirely by our PCs, so if he's part of its crew he's probably part of the IRIO too.

@CollectorOfMyst No no, it's alright. His character does fit what he's just described, and particularly as it seems the rest of us have gone a little more badass than I was originally intending, he might as well take a bit of a leg up. Right now, his character is a skilled mechanic, a novice pilot, veteran of the Dominion navy, and a guy with a shotgun - compare that to someone like Ekaterina Volkov, who is a stealthy hyper-sniper with an extremely variable combat role, and a weapon that even today is rare in its mechanics, or someone even like Daniel Hunt, who is an experienced IRIO officer with a background in politics and diplomacy, and extensive military training... and, well, Myke's character could totally stand to be a part of the IRIO too. In fact, it would be nice for Dan to have already known one of you.

I mean, I don't think I need to make any edits to the sheet so much as make a mental note of: Sam probably knows when to hold his tongue/not do things overtly incriminating. He's still too brash to make it in the world of espionage, but he knows about discretion.

Oh, oh. I see what you've done now. It took me a moment to notice, as I thought you were describing IRIO agents, NPCs - actually I was about to object anyway, as the IRIO are better than just getting noticed off the bat like that - but no, you can't feature other peoples' characters in your posts without getting their permission first. I suppose I shouldn't have told you guys you could try to spot the other PCs, if you thought your character could. My bad.

@Bazmund Maybe. Though given Cole is the type of character I don't think Sam gets along with, maybe they might not know each other... or they already have already met and Cole doesn't realise it's him yet. Also, I wouldn't quite call Cole badass.

@vietmyke There are many types of IRIO agent. Sam's no spy, that's true, but he would do well as support staff for the rest of the IRIO - such as, flying their ships, maintaining their ships, operating safehouses etc. Daniel is not really a spy either, he fulfills a tactical role for the IRIO - but if you'd like Sam to be a part of the IRIO crew before the RP begins, that is entirely your prerogative. I trust your skill enough to make it convincing.

@CollectorOfMyst I wasn't really referring to your character with that comment, to be honest. Cole fits the setting excellently, and is a better depiction of your typical elvish scholar than I could ever write.

@CollectorOfMyst Eh, no need. Just have the two blokes you've mentioned be random guys, unrelated to the plot. Cole's smart, and analytical, but no spy - he could easily have misidentified them.

UPDATE: So I've removed that part where Cole has identified two of the agents. He's now just using his mirror to watch the bartender instead.

@Bazmund I'll take that into account. It'd probably be an adventure to work with spies now that he's out of the navy. Not quite the write-home kinda work, what with discretion and all, but it'd be good paying work for his talents.

@CollectorOfMyst Meh, I wouldn't say Sam wouldn't like Cole, but with his general abrasiveness and demeanor might ruffle the feathers of more gentle folk- such as Cole or even Daniel. On the other hand, Aura, Ariah, and maybe even Ekatarine are the types of people that might get along with Sam.

@vietmyke Yeah, maybe. It's just they come from incredibly different walks of life - one is Dominion and manual labour, the other is Sovereignty and booksmarts.

@vietmyke@Deos Morran Actually, I'm afraid Sam is more likely to be the pilot. We'll assume he's being modest about being a novice, for the RP's sake - but there's a reason he was already working with the IRIO, and this is it. Additionally, Daniel will like Sam just fine - they're not likely to talk about anything particularly deep until Daniel can stop speaking so proper-like, but Daniel likes the kind of man that Sam is.

Well, I'm sure given his current study, Cole would also be capable of flying the airship... likely with supervision to start with. Besides, no reasons the pcs can't take shifts.

AHEM - although, when the RP has been developed a bit more, I assure you that Ariah will get his chance to fly our ship - and possibly more, depending on what mischief we get up to in the Iron Dominion.
