Clothing: God, I don’t even know where to begin looking up the names for the types of clothing she’s wearing. But, it’s in the picture, and it’s pale purple. Her sleeves have pockets for storing scrolls and weapons, and she wears a belt with weapon pouches.

Biography

Background: As far back as Megumi’s genealogy can be traced, her family lived in Gobigakure as fishermen. With the sea right there, how could one not go out there to get their grub? Megumi’s father, however, was one of the few villagers who showed an aptitude for becoming a ninja. Megumi idolized her father, seeing him as a great hero, and romanticized the idea of becoming a ninja. Whenever he came back from a mission, he would tell her about his exploits, trying to make life or death missions sound like fantastic adventures to keep his family from worrying.

Until the day he didn’t come back. A mission went bad and they were ambushed by leaf ninja. Megumi’s father made a valiant stand against their enemies so his comrades could escape. “Don’t worry, I’ve got a plan. These leaf Jounin are nothing.” He gave them a confident smirk promising to meet them back at the village. At least, that’s the story Megumi was told about how her father died.

From that day on, she devoted herself to seriously becoming a ninja. She still believed her father was a hero, even as one by one her father’s exploits were debunked by those she met along the way. She didn’t care that his squad failed more missions than they accomplished. She didn’t care that he lied to her about the bloody truths of being a ninja. She was proud to be his daughter and would make sure the ninja world would not forget Aroi family name.

Today: Megumi trained diligently under every sensei who would have her. She wanted to learn everything there was to know about being a ninja. Already she was learning what a small pond she lived in as even the most powerful Gobigakure shinobi could barely keep up with some of the genin the other villages trained. However, all her training thus far has been practical. She has yet to set foot outside of the village, and she’s eager to see how far she can go, even if that means meeting her father.

Personality: Megumi is proud, though not arrogant. She was not blessed with any outstanding abilities that many ninjas have, and had to claw tooth and nail to get where she is. She believes in hard work and has trained to exhaustion trying to perfect techniques. But, the flipside to her perfectionism is her stubbornness. At times she can be harsh and lash out at those who annoy her, but those who get to know her will see her softer side.

-Standard ninja tools: Shuriken, kunai, senbon, explosive tags, smoke bombs, and caltrops.

-Grease Pots: Small clay balls filled with a slippery grease that burst upon impact.

-Black Eggs: Egg-like balls filled with ground up glass and pepper powder. Bursts upon impact.

-Clawed Gloves: Leather gloves with small, curved claws protruding from the palm. Can be used to block and redirect weapon attacks, or used offensively.

-Filtered Mask: A cloth mask that can be pulled over her mouth and nose to filter out toxins.

-Weapon Scrolls: Scrolls she carries on her belt that she uses to summon a weapon. She carries a scroll for each of the following weapons: Ninjato, Naginata, Kusarigama, Sais, Hook Blades, and Bo Staff.

Megumi discovered her elemental nature early in her training, but a lack of any decent mentors meant she was only able to learn the few Water Release techniques she knows by watching others passing through. She got lucky enough to spy on a Kirigakure ninja practicing on the outskirts of their village, and learned the foundations of a couple jutsus.

Effect: During her training, Megumi met an old ninja from Amegakure who went rogue during Hanzo’s reign just before the Second Ninja War. He came to Gobigakure for its insignificance and was confident that nobody would look for him there. Megumi was thrilled to find a ninja from a powerful village and pestered the old man until he finally decided to offer her the Gecko Contract in exchange for leaving him alone. Megumi agreed, not knowing the difference between a gecko and a salamander, but thinking they were quite similar and expecting a powerful technique to rival the legendary Hanzo’s.

Unfortunately, the Trap Geckos she received were something completely different. They are a summon capable of storing ninja tools and scrolls inside of them, and releasing them at the user’s will. The Geckos are psychically connected to the user and can move and act at the user’s will.

Drawbacks: Trap Geckos have no means of defending themselves, and if they are killed, they disappear and take whatever is stored inside with them, making them lost forever. Controlling the geckos takes constant concentration, and the more geckos that are summoned at once, the larger the strain on the user’s mind.

Taijutsu:

No special Taijutsu techniques. Only what is necessary to use her numerous weapons.

Genjutsu:

I don't have the time to properly review your character right now, but I saw nothing terribly wrong with it in my skim-through, so there likely won't be any major changes, either.
I just have three little comments here right off the bat:

1. I don't know if you looked in the IC, but NobodiesHero has a prostitute NPC named Megumi. If you don't mind, neither do I, I just wanted to let you know.

2. Will she hold a grudge against Konoha ninja? I'm asking out of personal interest, since my character is from Konoha and very proud of that fact.

3. FINALLY! Haru-chan is not the only (somewhat) female!

I like that you've really embraced the fact that Gobigakure no Sato really sucks. I really get that feel from your CS.

I just read the post with Natsu's Megumi, and I think my straight-laced character sharing the name of a prostitute that will presumably be a part of the story will leave plenty of room for hilarity to ensue. I would not want to squander that opportunity. And she won't hold a grudge against all Konoha ninja, especially not ones she knows probably had literally nothing to do with her father's death. She's proud, but she not a vengeful Uchiha, haha.

@LordVoldemort Perhaps they already know each other a bit? Seems like farmers and fishermen would be on good terms in a village like this. I'd say that if anything, they'd be acquaintances since Megumi would be devoting most of her time to her ninja training.

Any animé suggestions for shit I just GOTTA see? I honestly never did watch much, since the animation/art style just bothered me too much, but I've recently (since having kids) grown less strict about this.
So far, I've watched Naruto (duh), Bleach, D.Gray-Man, Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), Darker Than Black, Attack on Titan, Ajin and some more shit that I can't remember the names of.

@The Mad Hatter Blood+ is my favorite anime. It's pretty dark and deals with some touchy subjects. But is an amazing series over all. It's a bit slow so give it about three or four episodes to catch your interest.

I just have to see that something something (dark side) of the iron fortress. I've seen some gifs and it looks really nice. Supposed to have a good storyline as well. For a recommendation I have to say Basilisk, high-grade ninja action in there. I love it.

But I did not have to see Berserk '17, blärgh.

If you haven't already seen Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, that's always my first recommendation for people getting into anime. It's got great animation, great story, great action, and a good English Dub. If you have a Netflix account, they have the full series there. Make sure you watch Brotherhood, and not the original, though. The original Fullmetal Alchemist is good, but brotherhood is much better.

If you want something weird, check out Paranoia Agent (Mousou Dairinin). It's a psychological thriller that's hard to describe without giving away spoilers, but there are some stand alone episodes that are just amazing. Episode 8 happens to be one of my favorite episodes in all of anime, but only if you enjoy morbid humor. If nothing else, check out that one episode.

My favorite anime of all time is Clannad (and season two, Clannad After story). This holds the distinction of being the only work of fiction to ever make me cry. And we're not talking just getting a little watery-eyed, we're talking full-on tears rolling down my cheeks. Season one is a high school drama, but season two actually continues on after high school, which is really nice to see in an anime.

If you want a superb story-driven anime, check out Guardian of the Ancient Spirit (Seirei no Moribito). The unique thing about this one is that it's got a female protagonist who is 1.) not a magical girl, and 2.) never succumbs to shameless fan service. This anime has an incredible story. The action is sparse, but when it's there, it's awesome.

If you want to see the most fascinating anime villain of all time, check out Monster. Warning, this series is LONG. Like 80+ episodes. But, if you can commit, it's definitely worth it. A brain surgeon chooses to save the life of a child over the life of an important politician because the child was admitted first. This hurts his career, and several years later, the doctor finds out that this child has grown up to be a homicidal sociopath. This anime is definitely character driven and revolves around what makes the villain tick.

Looking for sci-fi? Watch Steins;Gate. It's one of the few depictions of time travel that gets it right. No illogical time paradoxes here. It's clever, suspenseful, and has fantastic characters. Check it out.

And, if you're just looking for people beating the shit out of each other, check out Hajime no Ippo. It's boxing. It's good. It's ongoing.

When you've exhausted these, I've got plenty more for you, but I don't wanna overwhelm you.

@The Mad Hatter Gotta agree with Yuuta on Paranoia Agent and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. You should also check out JoJo's Bizarre Adventure if you're into some crazy shit as well. The seasons tend to change into a different style. For example, Part 1 is more horror based, while Part 4 is kind of like a team of investigators in a small town. If you've played Persona, Part 3 and onward will remind you of it.

Just had a look at it. It seems awesome. Is it made over a game? 'Cause when I searched for it, a bunch of game stuff came up.

Basilisk is one of the animé I have previously skipped past due to not liking the art style, so I'll definitely have a look at that.

My brother, and not the one you would expect, swears by the Beserk series. He loves it with a passion usually only seen in French artists.

I DID watch Fullmetal Alchemist, both the "original" and Brotherhood. As far as I understand, Brotherhood is actually original since that is the one that follows the manga, whilst the "orginal" passed the manga and just made its own shit up to keep the animé going. I liked Brotherhood. I was ust terribly disappointed when the world DIDN'T end... I felt the same way after Naruto used his magical sob-story to make Nagato remake Konoha after obliterating it.

I'll check out Paranoia Agent. I like weird shit, as long as it doesn't get too weird.

I usually steer away from High School drama series for several reasons. The most prominent one being that we don't have High School or anything really like it in Denmark (where I come from) so I can't really relate to it and it just feels a bit awkward. Also, I don't cry. Well, I didn't used to. I've only ever cried while being pregnant, at which point I cried about everything, like a cartoon dog dying and when someone close to me has died or almost died.
Recently, though, it does seem that my human emotions have started to awaken. I cried at some sad movie a while ago. I think it was just the fever I was running, but I can't be certain 'til more experiments have been conducted.

Seirei no Moribito does sound intriguing. I'll check it out. Also, I'm not exactly against fanservice >.>

I tried watching Monster. I really did. I made it to episode 30-something, but it sucked out my soul. I did plan to just take a break from it and start watching again, but then too much time had passed and I couldn't really remember what had happened and stuff and then I didn't (watch it, that is). Now it's been years and I just can't take the thought of starting from the top again.

I watched some of Steins;Gate and then some IRL shit went down and I never got around to finishing it. I'll definitely do that, at some point.

I defiantly don't like stuff like that. Boxing isn't my thing at all. In fact, sports in general kinda make me want to puke.
